Public Aurora Station R&R

The Lasat took his hand and shook it. Surprisingly, it was a gentle handshake. At least this Mandalorian was aware of her own strength. And what was that comment about a waltz? Perhaps this Mandalorian was a skilled dancer as well?

"My name is Irizi'nay'nuru, but you can call be by my core name: Zinayn. It's nice to-". The Chiss was interrupted as the creature from the Lasat's shoulder's pounced upon Zinayn, sniffing violently. At the order of Kebii'kara, the dragon left Zinayn's shoulder.

"Ah, the dragon is Force-sensitive?" Zinayn asked. He had heard and seen other creatures attuned to the Force, but had never gotten so close to one. Hopefully Beviin's curiosity was satisfied with perching on a Force-user. It would be a shame if some of his students were bitten or gobbled up by the dragon...

But his pupils could probably handle such a threat. Pushing his slight worry out of his mind, the Chiss said,
"So I am informed that you are here because of the pirates we are fighting?"

"Yes." Kebii'kara confirmed. "I came here for the pirates, but I may stay depending on the attitude of the Lilaste Order." Not quite the order of priorities that she actually held, but the sentiment was accurate enough. She definitely would not tell Zinayn about how she practically squealed when there was a Force practicing group that wasn't an extension of a government, or another one of the ten trillion Jedi Exclaves scattered about the Galaxy.

Not when the juvenile Vanquo Drakeling that was about to claim yet another sapient perch. The pale drakeling was roughly the size of a domesticated vulpid, and placing herself as the Chiss' newfound scaley mantel. Seeing as he hadn't pushed her off, the Chiss had passed the first test, and while there was a gentle rippling across the echo of the Gray Jedi's skull - a telepathic greeting that did not press deep into the psyche.

If he had not instinctively rebuffed this interaction, Beviin's rosy irises finally blinked slowly. Once. Twice. Three times. With a contented sigh, and a crocodile's grin, Beviin the self-proclaimed Pale Lance, claimed another sapient for her retainers of ear-scratches and general cushioning.

"She's claimed you now." the Lasat stated, with a grave sort of sarcasm. "I'm sorry, you will now be utilized as a means of cushioning. The duty will end in death - either yours' or hers'." With a placing of the hand on the Chiss' shoulder. "I'm afraid there's nothing you can do."

While this was technically true, the placement of the hand served a second point - to exploit the drakeling's love of chin scratches. How Kebii'kara would loosen her grip on the Chiss' shoulder, and with a pouty mew, transfer Beviin back to her shoulder.

"So before you get put on drakeling-sitting duty, do we get a tour of the facility before or after we transfer our luggage out of here?"

[#] Now Entering Aurora Station - Dice Thorne

After the events that transpired in the domed city that hid among the Outer Rim Territories, Dice Thorne was taken back to the Aurora Station, severely wounded and unresponsive. He was still breathing, but his arm was shattered, splintered even - and his shoulder and up to his neck were internally bruised. The mess of ruined flesh was hidden under the cover of one of his massive gauntlets, which couldn't be taken off despite the might of Laphisto's medical team. On closer inspection, the gauntlets had connected to the skin and flesh of Dice's hands, technically making them apart of his body.

Outsiders could only guess how hard it made ordinary life for Dice Thorne. Adjustments were constantly made around his own "homestead" to support the large knuckles he constantly swung around as he walked. Everything was a nail in his way, and he was a very reluctant hammer.

It didn't help that people would stare - but now that he was unconscious and being carted around, it was ignorant bliss. It was now up to the medical team to quickly study his altered biology and hopefully find a way to heal his broken body without separating the gauntlets from him. It would be akin to someone amputating his arms.

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
As the Dh'ivo Corvette rushed into the docking bay at bay three, one of the more military docking sections, but the closest to the medical bay on station, the medical team had stayed with the young man throughout the entire trip through hyperspace, with Laphisto checking up occasionally to see their progress. It was a decent trip back to the Kalinda system. But once the ship was docked, the medical team moved hurriedly to transport Dice Thorne Dice Thorne to the medical ward, where they had a proper med station and bacta tanks. A location where they could perform any needed surgeries on the kid if they needed to.

After dice, the refugees that had decided to join up with the order were off loaded and greeted by military soldiers, who helped bring them aboard the station and show them their new home. And finally, at the end of the commotion, Laphisto stepped off the loading ramp, his hand reaching for his data pad and pinging his return to the station " home sweet home." he had some work to do before he could roam the station freely. but he had hope that the personel on board knew what they were doing and could take care of the wounded man.

Meanwhile, rushing down the corridors of the station, the combat medics were quickly replaced with an actual medical team—doctors and nurses trained more proficiently in the medical field. As they transferred Dice Thorne to the main medical bay, the chief medical officer, Dr. Lena Thal, barked orders to her team.

"Prepare the bacta tanks and get the bio-scanner online," Dr. Thal commanded, her voice calm but firm. "We need a full diagnostic of his vitals and a detailed scan of the gauntlet integration points. Monitor his neural activity closely; we can't afford any complications."

A nurse, adjusting a med-scanner, reported, "His vitals are stable, but we're seeing elevated levels of cortisol and adrenaline—indicative of severe stress response. Initiating a neuro-sedative drip now."

Dr. Thal nodded, her eyes scanning the holo-display that projected a 3D model of Dice's body. "We need to isolate the damaged areas. Begin by stabilizing the fractured arm with an osteo-mender and prep the tissue regenerator for his internal bruising. Make sure the bacta immersion is calibrated for his unique physiology. We don't know how the gauntlets will interact with the treatment."

Another doctor chimed in, "I've seen tech like this before on Nar Shaddaa. It's old, invasive, and usually not meant to be removed. We'll need to interface directly with the gauntlet's control systems to ensure it doesn't react negatively to our procedures. Get the micro-droid swarms ready for internal repair work."

As the team worked efficiently, the room filled with the hum of advanced medical devices. The bacta tank was prepped, and a med-droid began administering intravenous fluids to stabilize Dice's electrolytes and nutrient levels. The bio-scanner beeped rhythmically, tracking every heartbeat and breath.

[#] Now Playing - This is the Grid

It felt as if Dice was floating in water. He was blind, deaf... Nothing, at that point. The only thing that reflected light in his mind's eye was the brimming of a crimson hue highlighting the darkness around him. It was anger, hatred... But also, passion and resolve. Despite all the things wrong about life, something struggled forward to bring Dice back to his body.

The neuro-sedative faded his thoughts away, and his body finally remained still inside the bacta tank after twitching erratically without calm during the diagnosis period.

On a micro-scale, the tiny droids scoured across the top of the gauntlets, noting the "kyber essence" that flowed through them. The red tar build-up inside was akin to cholesterol in a person's veins. This was slowly flushed out as the green coloration returned to the flow, in tandem with Dice's stress readings and heart rate stabilizing.

Any attempt to work on the damaged flesh under the gauntlet returned with interesting results. The invasive surgical technology instigated an immune system response upon exposure to the air and equipment. But, as they maintained the flow of neuro-sedative into Dice's brain, all negative reactions began to dwindle.

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
As Dice Thorne Dice Thorne floated in the bacta tank, Dr. Thal and her team monitored the readings closely. The soft glow of the bacta fluid cast a calming blue hue over the room, its gentle hum filling the air.

"Neural activity is stabilizing," reported a nurse, her voice steady. "Heart rate and stress levels are within acceptable ranges. Commencing micro-droid diagnostic sweep."

The micro-droids swarmed over the gauntlets, their tiny lights flickering as they transmitted data. One of the doctors examined the readings with a furrowed brow. "We've detected a substance flowing through the gauntlets like blood. There's a red tar-like build-up we're flushing out now."

Dr. Thal nodded, her eyes scanning the information. "Ensure the flow remains stable. If it's linked to his stress and heart rate, it's crucial for his recovery."

The team watched as the green hue returned to the flow within the gauntlets, indicating successful cleansing. The doctor continued, "We're encountering an immune response when working on the flesh under the gauntlet. His body perceives our tools as threats."

"Increase the neuro-sedative slightly," Dr. Thal directed. "Begin the osteo-mender protocol on the fractured arm. Stabilize the bones first, then use the tissue regenerator on the internal bruising."

The osteo-mender's blue light enveloped Dice's shattered arm, mending the fractures with precision. The med-droids moved delicately, removing damaged tissue and promoting regeneration. The soft beeping of monitors created a rhythm in the room, punctuated by the occasional hiss of medical equipment.

"Fractures are stabilizing. Tissue regenerator is in place," updated another nurse, her voice calm but focused.

"Good," Dr. Thal replied, her tone steady. "Prepare the bacta tank for extended immersion. He'll need time to heal. Let's ensure everything remains stable."

The team moved with coordinated efficiency, their expertise evident in every motion. The room hummed with the energy of advanced technology and dedicated care, all focused on bringing Dice back from the brink. The gentle glow of the bacta tank and the soft beeps of the monitors filled the med-bay, creating a serene yet determined atmosphere as the healing process continued.

With the medical team performing miracles on Dice's shattered body, in due time, the purple bruising faded from his arm, and his expression inside of the tank finally fell into a neutral frown. He was no longer gritting his teeth, and his gauntlets were progressively becoming more receptive to the treatment. One could speculate that his mechanized hands had a mind of their own. They lashed out like a cornered animal in response to the procedure, but eventually, after feeling the calm of Dice's heart, they slowly accepted the help.

After a period of anxious waiting, Dice looked rejuvenated enough to leave the tank. His awakening was heralded by a sudden spike in the heart rate monitor. Dice was... Naked. And he was floating. In... Something?

He desperately waved his hands through the liquid, remaining suspended in one spot by the several tubes and injections connecting him to the tank.

[^]"BLRRLBLLBGH....BL-blrrgh... BLRRGGHH!!!"

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
"He's waking up," Dr. Thal announced. "Prepare to extract him from the bacta tank."

Nurses and doctors moved efficiently, preparing the necessary equipment. One nurse activated the tank's drainage system while another readied a set of towels and a robe.

"Stay calm, Dice," Dr. Thal spoke through the tank's communication system, her voice soothing. "You're safe. We're here to help you."

The bacta fluid began to drain, and the tubes and injections detached automatically. The transparent cover of the tank opened with a hiss, allowing the remaining liquid to flow out.

"Lowering the lift platform," a nurse informed as the platform inside the tank began to descend, bringing Dice Thorne Dice Thorne to a standing position.

Two nurses approached with towels, gently wrapping them around his shoulders and helping him step out of the tank. One of the doctors handed him a robe.

"You're alright," Dr. Thal reassured him, her tone gentle. "You've been through a lot, but you're safe now. Take deep breaths."

A nurse offered him a cup of water. "Drink this. It will help."

Having finally been released from the tank, Dice took comfort in the simple pleasantry of a glass of water. He took a moment to stand up and roll his shoulder a couple of times. No clicks or cracks - it seemed better than it usually was. With a sigh of relief, Dice sat down on a chair near the medical equipment and began recollecting everything that had happened so far.

[^]"Uhm... Is that big guy around? Lah-fist-toe, or something? I've... Got some questions.

He investigated his surroundings, taking in the view of the sleek interior and listening to the chittering and beeping of machinery.

[^]"Oh, sorry... What's your name? And I guess I'll just ask while I'm here - where am I???"

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
The good doctor nodded gently, checking over her notes a few times before looking to Dice Thorne Dice Thorne . "The High commander? He might be in his office by now. As for where you are, well, you're aboard Aurora Station."

She took a moment to ensure Dice was comfortable and then continued, "I'm Dr. Thal. You were brought here in pretty bad shape, but it looks like you're on the mend now."

The sleek interior of the med-bay buzzed with little activity. A few other bodies were sitting in chairs visiting others who seemed to be sitting in bacta tanks. By the looks of things all the injuries looked to be similar almost as if they were wounded in battle not long ago.

"Is there anything else you need or any other questions I can answer for you?" Dr. Thal asked, her tone calm and reassuring.

[^]"Well, for starters, I need to flag my friend Specs' ship to pick me up... I'm guessing I can only get clearance from 'High Command'. So, if we're able, I'd like to see him in his office... Pronto."

His lack of tact was an indication he was feeling better, both in mind and body. He saw people in the bacta tanks he assumed perished within the domed city, but here they were, rehabilitating safely.

[^]"Also, I think one of the zippers on my shirt broke off... See these fists? I am NOT gonna be able to fit through the arm holes normally. You wouldn't happen to know a tailor around here?"

Despite his wardrobe malfunction, he was ready to meet with Laphisto personally. He did have more questions, but they were all in relation to the enemy they witnessed inside the city. Maybe Laphisto knew who they were?

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
Dr. Thal nodded, a slight smile playing on her lips at Dice's straightforwardness. "I can arrange for you to meet with the commander. Let me get that set up for you." She made a quick note on her datapad and sent a message to coordinate the meeting.

"As for your shirt," she said, glancing at his massive gauntlets, "I understand the challenge. We have a quartermaster on board who can help with clothing repairs and adjustments. I'll make sure they get in touch with you we have a few members who are of teh larger species, quartermaster Darva will have you well taken care of.."

She paused, ensuring Dice Thorne Dice Thorne was comfortable before continuing, "If you have any other questions or need further assistance, just let me know. You're on the road to recovery, and we'll make sure you get everything you need."

Dr. Thal then turned to the nurse beside her, "Prepare an escort to take Dice to the commander's office. Let's make sure he's well looked after."

[^]"Sure, clothing repair sounds good. But I guess for now I'll just have to walk topless. Oop- yep, there's the room temp hitting my skin. Cold!"

He wrapped his arms across his chest, feigning a cold shiver. He laughed it off and waved down the nurse behind him, preparing to follow them to Laphisto's office. He turned to Dr.Thal and grinned happily.

[^]"Cheers for patching me Doc. If there's any way I can return the favor, just let me know."
[^]"Unless there's a large bill waiting for me - I might be able to tax some creds off Specs... Hehe."

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
Dr. Thal chuckled at Dice's antics, a warm smile on her face. "Well, we can definitely sort out some new clothing for you soon."

She glanced at the nurse, who nodded in understanding and prepared to guide Dice to Laphisto's office. "Don't worry about the bill," Dr. Thal added with a grin. "Your health is our priority. Now, let's get you to the commander."

As the med bay doors opened, a pair of Lilaste soldiers in their standard LO-56MKII armor stood waiting. Their presence was a reassuring reminder of the station's order and security. The nurse stepped forward, ready to hand Dice off to the soldiers.

"These soldiers will take you to the commander," Dr. Thal said, nodding towards the waiting soldiers. "You're in good hands. If you need anything else, just let us know."

The soldiers stood at average height, the full sealed LO-56A MKII armor they worse [image here as it's broken on the sub] each soldier carried with them LO-18D rifles, when the door opened the one on teh left looked down at dice "the commander wants to see you, follow us" the soldier would turn to walk down the hallway, expecting Dice Thorne Dice Thorne to follow

As the small group moved through the sleek corridors of Aurora Station, the hum of activity was evident. The walls were lined with various control panels and monitors displaying real-time data. The sounds of machinery and the soft beeps from the equipment created a steady background noise. They passed by the bustling docking bays, where ships of various sizes were being loaded and unloaded. Vendors had set up shops, selling various goods to passing pilots and crew members. The air was filled with the scent of different foods and the sound of haggling voices.

Further along, the environment became more structured and secure. Guards stood at checkpoints, checking IDs and ensuring that only authorized personnel entered the more sensitive areas. Reaching a turbo lift, the soldiers took Dice up to The central spire, where the CIC was located, it offered a panoramic view of the surrounding space. The sleek, efficient design of the station was evident in the clean lines and organized layout. on the exterior of teh station there were a multitude of crews repairing, repainting and modifying the exterior of the station. the atmosphere shifted to a quieter, more controlled environment. The CIC was a hub of activity, with officers and analysts working diligently at their stations. Large holographic displays projected strategic maps and data feeds, creating a dynamic and informative setting.

The soldiers walked up to a door and turned around standing at attention on either side, "the commander is expecting you"

As Dice Thorne exited the med bay and proceeded with the hand over. He saluted the two soldiers outside - which was incredibly uncanny considered the palm of his gauntlet extended over his entire face, turning the gesture into a circus skit.

Despite his antics, he returned Dr. Thal's kindness with a warm smile.

[^]"Thank you, Dr. Thal. I guess I'll see you next time I flirt with the reaper, huh?"

Dice ogled the armor of the soldiers shamelessly - spinning around them a few times for a 360-perspective shot.
He started following the group through the Aurora Station and marveled at all the hustle and bustle before him. It clashed violently with the cold surgical atmosphere of the med bay, and that seemed like enough to put wind in Dice's sails once again.

He saw a few people around however, who like usual, defaulted to staring at his hulking gauntlets. Out of reflex, he called out:

[^]"Pick your jaws off the floor guys, I know... I'm shirtless."

While ascending up the turbo lift, Dice began to whistle some "elevator music" in a very discordant way. For the soldiers escorting him, for however long it took the elevator to reach its destination, it was torturous. Even if Dice carried some wit about him, he was still childish.

He finally reached the entrance to Laphisto's office and side-stepped through the doorframe, trying to avoid leaving two boulder sized holes in the walls.

[^]"Hey... I'm here to see a certain someone about a ship. And maybe a shirt?"

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
Laphisto was at his desk, a few pappers in his hands as he mumbled out before shooting his gaze up towards Dice Thorne Dice Thorne a soft smile stretching over his face with a small chuckle " its good to see your doing well. after i threw you, you know you make for quite the baseball" laphisto chuckled gently at his own joke before gesturing towards the seat before him " come take a seat, we have much to discuss"

laphisto leaned back slightly, his armor matching the soldiers that escorted him in design for the most part. Reaching to his waist he unclipped his saber and set it on the table between dice and himself " do you know what this is?"

[^]"I do, don't I? I thought I'd be playing more field considering the mitts."

Dice sat himself down and splayed his gauntlets behind his chair. They were big enough push him a few inches higher off his seat for a moment, before he decided to collapse them down in a more comfortable position for his body.

[^]"Uh, a lightsaber I guess?"
He leaned his body closer to inspect the broad saber. There wasn't anything distinguishing it from others - was this a trick question?

[^]"Yeah, uhm, I'm locking in my answer."

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
laphisto gave a small chuckle, nodding gently before looking the man over, his eyes flashing a teal blue before he began to peer into Dice Thorne Dice Thorne a small rumble pushing from his throat as he pokes, prodded and pried at the manes very essence, pulling and tugging his alignment out to be seen for him " very clever. i sense the force in you. And its strong. Untrained but strong." laphisto paused for a moment and once he got his answer of what side of the force dice leaned closer to he gave a subtle nod his way

" powered by a similar type of crystal as your gauntlets. Granted, mine uses an Opila crystal as its energy source. " With a small chuckle, he cleared his throat, leaning forwards again, " do you like helping people?"

[^]"Yeah, I don't really know how to use that force stuff the best. I kinda just... Concentrate really hard, while I aim where to hit. And boom."

He thought on Laphisto's next question for a moment. It was obvious he did, but his direction was... Misguided.

His friend Specs gave him the latest information on current events, and Dice acted accordingly. He never judged the situations he threw himself in, or really investigated the context. It was all smash and go - and at this point, it was putting other people in danger.

[^]"Uh, yeah... I do."

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
" We at the lilaste order are dedicated to protecting those of the galaxy. And ensuring they are safe. And we could use someone like you in our ranks. Specially, if you get trained up on the force, you will be able to do a lot of good. " laphisto leaned back in his chair, flicking his lone ear softly

" that is, if you're willing to learn, to dedicate yourself to the cause. We will give you a home, food, shelter and training" laphisto gave a small smile, chuckling gently to himself as he awaited Dice Thorne Dice Thorne 's response
