Avarice Awakens

"Well then [member="Darth Ferus"]," Vaulkhar pauses and reaches down to his belt. He removes the lightsaber from it's place at his side and guides it through the air towards him, utilizing the force. "You have yourself a deal. When will we begin and where will we train?" Noticing that the man had healed the wounds upon his body, Vaulkhar could not help but grunt audibly in pain. He was in no way prepared for the force healing, and it was not something he particularly enjoyed as it lasted. When it eventually ended, he could not help but inwardly sigh in relief.

"We will begin now, and in this room. Stand up, take the blade in both hands. We will begin the strength training needed to use such a blade effectively in such a Demanding form." This time Ferus spoke with authority. He hadn't healed [member="Vaulkhar"] out of the kindness in his heart, but rather to get him up and moving immedietly. Slowly the Sith began to pace, watching the young boy out of the corner of his eye.

"Djem So involves quite a lot of power strikes and overwhelming ferocity. You strike first, strike hard, and give no breathing room."

Vaulkhar nodded at the words of [member="Darth Ferus"] and stood up quickly, lifting the blade along with him. He tore his gaze away from the master momentarily to gaze upon the blade, still leaking with the blood of the man he was capable of wounding, and nearly besting. Or so he believed. He looked back towards Ferus once more, raising his blade up and holding it before him. A style about overwhelming the opponent; that's something he liked. And that would be something he mastered. Without a moment's notice, Vaulkhar dashed towards the Sith Lord and attacked.

He slashes horizontally with the blade; the attack was on level with the man's elbow and started at his left side. He followed up the slash with a turn of the wrist and a diagonal swipe upwards, aiming to slice up the man's torso. With a reversal of his grip he turned the blade about and ended with a vertical slash going down the length of his torso.

Ferus opened his mouth to continue the lesson. He meant to have this one be more verbal, to help [member="Vaulkhar"] understand before getting right into the action. Yet to his surprise, the boy skipped the vocal lesson, and went right for the offensive. It was a warming thing, seeing another so into action, but the Sith Lord had no defense. Strike after strike landed. The first cleaved his arm clean off. The second tore open his chest, and the third nearly cleaved Ferus in two.

But there was no blood. No splatter or sounds of limbs falling. Instead, the wounds healed. Slow at first, but the torn torso of thus Sith Lord pushed itself together, tendrils of pure dark stitching him. The red gaze of the Lord focused back in in the Bastard, a frown clear on his lips. "Next time, if you attack before I say, you will be dealt with accordingly. Back into the opening stance."

Vaulkhar quite literally stared in horror at seeing himself tear through Ferus. He was even more horrified when the man put himself back together. Watching the black tendrils pull the creature that was [member="Darth Ferus"] pull him back together caused his mouth to hang agape. He backed up at the sight, lowering his long sword to his side. It took several seconds for Vaulkhar to regain his composure after witnessing the man torn apart and put back together over the course of a minute. Hearing the words and order of his new master, Vaulkhar raised his blade and held it out before him in his starting position.

"Well alright, whenever you are ready, master."

His words and tone were hollow.

"Good. Now, Djem So has several skills. Namely, falling avalanche. Lift the blade above your head, then swing down with all your weight and force. When your opponent comes in, thinking you're open, you can strike down and rip through any defense they might have. The style is about defense, countering, and over powering. Do you understand?" Ferus began to pace back and forth before [member="Vaulkhar"] , seeming to be unohased by the destruction of his form just earlier. The Dark Side was truly powerful after all.

Vaulkhar simply nodded his heads at the words of [member="Darth Ferus"]. To him, Djem So was seemed like a mixture of both Makashi and Juyo. The measured and considered movements behind Makashi, and the power and ferocity of Juyo. He desired to overwhelm and overpower his opponents in battle; to prove himself and his skill. He sought to be the greatest, and this training would help him do so.

"Yes, master." He stated after his considerations.

"Then we shall begin to work on your defense. Unlike other aggressive forms, Diem So is about making an opportunity to punish your opponent through your own defense. With this, you have to be able to block strikes." Ferus surged forward then, a familiar snap hiss if a lightsaber filling the room. [member="Vaulkhar"] would find his own lightsaber turned against him in the hands of the Lord. A quick thrust would find its way for the boys chest, lethal intent clear.

"Deflect the strike and force an opening to counter attack. That is your lesson!" Ferus practically shouted now, his mind only on training through fire. Either the Bastard would learn, or die. Either was fine with the monster.

Vaulkhar immediately slid back, expecting some form of attack from [member="Darth Ferus"]. What he did not expect was the man utilizing his own light saber. Nor did he expect a clear intent to kill, but so be it. As he slid back he raised his blade and deflected the oncoming light saber by slamming it upward. From the Vaulkhar stepped to the side and aimed a two handed swing at the man's shoulder with the hand holding the light saber. The power behind the swing was more than enough to cleave through flesh and muscle alike.

The Sith nodded approvingly as [member="Vaulkhar"] knocked his blade up. "Good! Just like that!" Course, with his blade hand high there was little he could do for the sword coming around, saver for turning the blade downwards. Letting the saber go in his left hand his right would come around to catch it, forcing the blade to arc downwards. The red blade would slam against the solid sword with all the force the man could muster with a single hand.

Which was enough to keep his arm, but not enough to match. Ferus would be pushed back, having to slide his way away from the boy to keep a hold of the blade. Quickly he brought his other hand to hold onto the saber, shouting again.

"Dont let up! Keep with the assault, no matter what!"

Vaulkhar did not even pause for a split-second, following the words of [member="Darth Ferus"] without even having to hear them. He pushed forward with his attacks, turning his blade about and swinging it the opposite direction this time, instead aiming towards his right arm with a horizontal swipe. He'd follow it up with a boot to the knee, and then he'd turn his wrist slightly and attempt a cut upwards across the man's stomach as the final his of his simple combo.

"Attack boy! Just like that!" Ferus once more shouted, but rather then try to take the assault he knew would over power him, he teleported. He moved instantly across the room, smiling at [member="Vaulkhar"] . "You learn well. Fast. Very good."

Vaulkhar took a deep breath and let his shoulder slump slightly. He tightened his grasp upon the hilt of his long sword and moved his gaze to follow [member="Darth Ferus"]. His own empty gaze met that of the Sith Lord's as he took a step forward, but stopped himself. He awaited further instructions for his lesson, not wanting to accidentally cut the Sith Lord in half once more.

"Many thanks, Lord Ferus. What now?"

"Now, now you go out into the world and use it in real situations. This lesson is finished." A dismissive wave would be all [member="Vaulkhar"] would get before the Sith Lord turned his back. This was a good break from the usual killing. But now it was over, and he would return to sitting down, meditating. He had a lot to think about after all.

"Do feel free to contact me or call for me when more training opportunities arise, [member="Darth Ferus"]."

Vaulkhar lowers himself to a bow before turning and striding away from his new master. The young man exits the room and returns to his room to reflect on the day's teachings.
