Back from the Dead... sorta (Carliah)

[member="Darth Vivaldi"]

He looked now at the hole instead of the window and slowly he began to melt in it, the scene changing and split in half, on one side of it there was a chained Carliah, taking the scene from her memories as he would never have been able to see this, and then there was his half. He was curled up, his eyes red and ringed with dark shadows, his voice soft but muttering the words that twisted Yusan back when he had lost Carliah originally. One word sounding over the others. "Kill Vornskr, gut and skin him..."

The real yusan stood beside Carliah now, as he watched the two scenes. "Our breaking points, no?"

Carliah kept her gaze trained on the ground, refusing to look. She clamped her hands over her ears and growled, trying to drown out the noise. She didn't want to believe it,and so instead she turned to Yusan and once again began screaming.

"Even in death you're still a liar! What reason do I have to believe that this 'memory' of yours is real? You could be projecting a lie and writing it off as a memory to appease me! I'm not your damn toy anymore!" Denial was safer than acceptance after all, and Carliah was very good at denying things she didn't want to believe true. [member="Memorial"]

"Im sorry, is this the scene you wanted to see..." He took a moment, thinking as he modified the scene, it would be more than obvious that the lie was in the fact of what she had been told, but soon a perfectly normal Yusan stood there, burning the list, his eyes looking right at the real carliah. It was almost too obvious for a five year old to understand that she had been lied to.

Carliah turned her head away from the scene. She refused to watch. She clung to the lies she had been told, because that was the only way she could retain anything even resembling sanity. She growled, punching a nearby wall. She need to hit something, or someone, to get rid of the emotional turmoil inside her. She wondered if right now in her sleep she was thrashing around, trying to destroy some invisible enemy. [member="Memorial"]

"Still clinging to the lies..." He sighed and thought something over his eyes finding their way as a singular door appeared to him. "I have a question Carliah, if you had not been taken... had it been me and i was killed as a test or tortured... would you have broken like i did?"

"I would have died trying to get you back," Carliah growled at him. She wanted to hit him again, to sever all of his limbs from his body and leave him lying in a pool of his own blood, or maybe she could slit his throat is such a way that he could bleed into his trachea and choke. She decided that would be the easiest way to survive this torture she was being put through, by imagining painful ways to murder the man who was tormenting her. If only he was still living, she could use one of her ideas for real. [member="Memorial"]

He looked over his shoulder at her, his face completely in pain. "Its good i broke then and you are still alive... i have given myself a choice Carliah, and the moment my time ends i will be gone... I saw the tear, that is why i chose to remain for now... but i have to ask you this, do you feel anything of your old self?" Do you remember those nights, do you remember the days... how about your friend, the Jedi... or tripping over stuff... any of it, do you remember it?" He reached for the door, it would appear to Carliah now too, his hand turning the handle. "This door ends my existence completely... if i step through it then you are left without the truth... but i have seen the truth only hurts you... for such i think that my time is over and we will never meet again. If you want this to happen... then show me the old carliah for a moment, so i can say goodbye." He didn't look at her, his hand opening the door slowly.

Carliah didn't know what it was that had caused her to move, but before she knew it she was next to him, slamming the door closed and pushing him against the wall. She buried her head in his chest and cried. She was completely broken, nothing would ever be the same again, but if he could stay, then at least she could have her dream world where she could pretend everything was alright. She had to find a way for him to stay. She didn't know why, but part of her just couldn't handle losing him forever. [member="Memorial"]

He looked behind himself and stared, she was there... the problem was he had said that he would leave if he found her. "Carliah... i have to go, sorry." He vanished for now, the morning had come and he knew his time in her dreamworld was over as she would be treated to the end of the night.

Carliah awoke with tears streaking her face. She didn't even know why she was crying. She hated him, atleast she thought she did.Why couldn't she handle the thought of losing him then? She curled up in a ball on her bed and continued to sob. Where was Jink when she needed him? The Cheshire Warden would probably be able to make something resembling sense out of the hurricane inside her head. [member="Memorial"]

Yusan simply watched her, looking at his arm as it started to fade with a piece of his sanity, he was paying with his own mind to try and cheat death long enough without a body to find the woman that he had known, he had but a few more chances to bring her back to the forefront in any way possible... even if it meant destroying his own sanity. So he sat in the Amulet for now, watching her, until the next time he would get to talk to her.

Carliah finally got up and wiped the tears from her cheeks. She slipped on one of her usual black and red dresses and grabbed the amulet. She didn't know why,but having it in her hands made her feel safe. She slipped it around her neck, resigning herself to any potential negative consequences. She felt numb, and she didn't know why. She made her way through the palace to the staircase leading down into the dungeons. The Mad Queen needed to blow off some steam. [member="Memorial"]

He watched her, of course averting his eyes without the need to when she changed and then watched when she started moving towards where she was going, interested in what it was that came first in Carliah's days... especially after the sort of night that she had come to have with him pushing her like he had... he had been harsh yes, but he knew he did not have the time required to truly talk to her without accepting a new body... and he was not going to let someone he did not trust do that to him until he knew if Carliah was around or not in that body for sure.

Carliah kicked open the door to the dungeons. There was only one prisoner in there currently. She openned the door to his cell and hauled him out of it, dragging him down the hallway by the back of his shirt. She kicked open another door at the end of the hall and dragged him inside the torture chamber. She strapped the man to a board on the wall and backed up so she was standing next to the table.

"Who hired you to kill me?" Carliah spoke calmly, picking a knife up off the table. The prisoner merely glared at her, biting his lip in a show of defiance. The Mad Queen sighed as tossed the knife without even aiming. It lodged in his right wrist.

"I asked you a question and I expect an answer," She called, reaching for another knife. [member="Memorial"]

Yusan winced and watched this, looking at his already disappearing arm and appearing to her alone for a half moment, standing beside the man, his head shaking at the action as he mouthed the words, 'Have you become the monster?' With that he was gone again... though Carliah would have seen his arm disappearing.

Carliah dropped the second knife when she saw him. She clutched her stomach and actually ended up puking on the floor of the room. She felt sick. She picked the knife up and flung it at a random wall, before wrenching the knife out of the prisoner's wrist. She pulled him down from the wall and dragged him back to his cell. She flung him inside and locked the door before stalking back up the stairs.

This time she went to the kitchens to get something to eat. She grabbed the sweetest looking pastry she could find and nibbled at it. She wasn't exactly hungry but she needed something to settle her stomach. She ordered a servant to go down and clean up the dungeons as she leaned against the counter. [member="Memorial"]

He sighed, it wasn't the most... inviting way to get her to stop, but it had worked... and now nothing past his elbow remained. "Im going to have to be more careful, every time i influence something out side of this amulet i lose a bit of myself... damnit Carliah, why cant you just make this easy."

She finished eating and decided to try and clear her head with a walk around the gardens surrounding the palace. She was trying to think of a way to be able to keep Yusan without messing anything else up. She couldn't handle losing him completely, but she couldn't go back to the way she was before either. Even if she wanted to give it all up, Balaya, Taeli, Vornsky, and every other Sith would kill her. This was a situation she couldn't win. The only option she could think of was to simply join him in the void, but she knew she couldn't. She had children to think of, and Jink would be upset... She actually Force Screamed in her frustration. Why couldn't anything turn out right? Her life had always been a mess, and she had hoped this choice would make everything better. "I never said you had to die..." His voice echoed in her ears. "... or even change, you misunderstand my purpose Carliah." His arm started to disappear a bit more, an inch more gone from it. He would never have shown himself, staring from inside the amulet at the face of his old lover and best friend.

"What do you want from me then?" The Queen of Madness whispered as she walked back inside. She went to the library this time, grabbing an old text on Sith Alchemy and flipping through it. Her mind wasn't retaining any of this information, but it gave her something to do that didn't involve harming herself or others. She hopped Balaya would be done with her children soon. The zeltron had agreed to take care of Carliah's kids and teach them to function like normal people their age. The artificial aging process had left their minds severely behind their bodies. @Memorial
