He might have interjected.

But that would be drawing attention to himself. Of course, just standing around with his hands in his pockets not uttering a peep would be just as suspicious, perhaps even more so. The offending automatic weapon was handed over without too much hassle, which of course was good. Everybody keeps their heads on.

“Confiscate it, I'd imagine,” Brill mumbled quietly, “heard they got this big room filled to the brim with confiscated weapons, ya know?”

More likely that they incinerated them, however. Couldn't risk dangerous weapons and illegal mods getting back onto the streets after all.

"Smart... guy..." Spritejägare commented, referring to the cat-thing as she took possession of the needler. "I wouldn't expect to ever see it again, honestly." She sealed the illegal weapon in the trunk of her speeder and turned back to the motley crew. What was the planet coming to these days?

"I'm not going to do anything with the information I have until my backup appears. I'm going to need to clean things up for you with my superiors, otherwise you'll have your name and cam captures all over the district." She cast a wary glance around the area, just to make sure no one was looking to take pot shots at a cop in the center of a bunch of... children-people.

I looked at [member='Malin Spritejägare']

"Looking through my record won't benefit anybody, and it will probably cause me to get arrested rather than find the missing person I'm looking for. Really, it's better if we just do this without checking my authorizations."

I was almost hoping for something to come our way. I wanted to see the cop's expression as I pulled out another repeater from the hidden holsters all over my clothes. But even without the guns, Force Lightning wasn't exactly fun to walk through.

Ah, well. What ever would happen would happen. As in, what I wanted would happen. Cos whatever would happen would be what I wanted.

"Wasn't planning on wasting time looking through your biography... yet," Spritejägare retorted, getting a little annoy with this guy's increasingly suspicious defensive responses. She was beginning to wonder if it would be less trouble to simply arrest him for the weapon instead of doing whatever good, neighborly deed she was in for. "I just have to make sure CorSec 'knows' that the offender with the illegal weapon 'got away'. Or else my credibility gets called into question and that doesn't help any of us, does it?"

The officer took another glance at the cat-thing-person. Something bothered her about him, but maybe it was just because she had never seen his type before.

My eyes widened. At least she wasn't actually gonna arrest me... yet. But she had decided to lie to her headquarters a little quickly. It kind of worried me. But finidng my sister was more important than my jumpy instincts. At least the girl and the furry guy wouldn't be in trouble. Still, if I had to make a quick escape, no matter when I did, they'd most likely be in trouble. Big trouble. I took a couple steps towards the girl and the furry guy.

"Look, we have a problem. If I have to get out of here quick, you two are gonna be in trouble. If it comes to me getting away, you huys would be considered either accomplices or unwilling witnesses. You should come with me if that happens. It'll be pretty obvious when that happens. I'll either be running like hell, or saying.... 'hey, we need to run. Now' Just think about the offer."

The pair certainly weren't smooth negotiators.

Brill was no stranger to the scolding hand of law enforcement, but at least he had the charm and cuddly cute nature to get out of any minor infraction. Well, except that one guy who caught him tossing his McYoda's wrapper on the ground, although in his defense he was probably just a little strung out, seemed it when he screamed 'I HATE CATS!' and kicked the Cantrosian in the head. Good times. Fond memories.

So every time the CorSec officer granted him a glance, he would offer back a friendly smile that would say, sure, I'll help you with your inquiries and hey, my paws are clean.

“Listen buddy,” he said to the defensive guy, “you're gonna have to level the score with us. I'm lost, I'm clueless. What the frickle-frackle is goin' on?” Of course, if words like frickle-frackle couldn't help convince the guy to start filling in the blanks then his cheeky grin might. “Never know, you might find help in these unexpected places.”

I turned to the furry guy. He either didn't understand, or thought he'd be able to escape on his own.

"Look, I'm sorry you got caught in this, but you involved yourself when you began talking to me. And the girl got involved when I Force-pulled her across the room. If I have to escape, the girl will without a doubt be arrested, at least for a bit. And you will probably be highly inconvenienced. If that happens, it's my duty as a man to make sure both of you are safe. I can actually hide you, if you want.

But I can't leave you with my problems."

Officer Spritejägare took leave of the very suspicious group shortly as the CorSec cavalry arrived. A quick recounting of the entire story--save the identity of the machinegunner--cleared things up enough for her associates as a few of them scrambled to clean up what remained of the bomber's body and investigate into whatever he had been packing. A random 'splode-em-up was no trivial matter.

After returning from briefing her CorSec comrades, Spritejägare nodded towards [member="Evard L'Rik"] and company. "Ready, or not?"

Keturah sighed, placing both hands on the straps of her teddy-pack. "I am. Let's just get this over with and move on with our lives." She said, a bit tired from all the commotion. She didn't like the thought of being arrested, but it was better than being hunted down for resisting.

"Yeah, let's get the hell out of here. Wonder who that floating nerf herder was."

I strode over to the car and leapt in. I just hoped the stupid thing didn't have weapons scanners, or I'd beep like a freaking alarm. There were a whole bunch of hidden weapons in my jacket.

"Where are we going, in fact?"

Beneath his glowing green goggles, his eyes narrowed. There were most definitely skeletons in closets abounds here, no doubt about it. It almost intrigued Brill if there didn't seem to be an element of danger about it all.

Wait? Duty as a man?

A man?!

In Cantrosian years and in gender Brill was just as man as anybody else. He couldn't help being short and cute! The curse of being alien, bloody humanoids. If you're not a hairless slouching biped then you don't count! He snorted to himself. The galaxy had a far way to come in terms of equality and understanding.

“On an adventure,” the cheeky chappy retorted.

((So sorry for such a late post. I had personal developments and had to take a break from the board.))

"Where we're going depends on what you're wanting to divulge to me." She glanced briefly yet another time at the little fellow. Her Lorrdian eyes registered that he seemed greatly perturbed by whatever was circulating in that cat brain of his, and it was nearly comical. Malin would be lying if she said she did not get some menial amusement out of watching his facial contortions. The tiniest of smirks edged up the corner of her mouth.

Returning her gaze to the other two rather interesting characters, Lieutenant Spritejägare continued. "I need a general profile before I can determine the next course of action. 'Lost people' doesn't help me much."

"Well, the person who I believe to be on Corellia is my sister, Kat. Kat L'Rik."

I glared at the furry guy, and his snarky comment, and turned back to [member="Malin Spritejägare"].

"What else do you need on her? I don't know our homeworld, or where she works."
