"Will do" he replied to Valery, as she began to walk to her ship. He nodded at her when she asked to buy some time, so therefore, Takumi went up again, to the communication systems in the cockpit. {Ehm...Hey guys, can't we talk about this? I mean you guys gotta see it from my side you know. You set me up, therefore I wanted double the payment....} a complete conversation started between Takumi and one of the pykes, as they discussed who's fault the whole scenario was and how to proceed from now on. Even though he knew, the pykes wouldn't really accept letting him go, he still negotiated as much as he could, to give Valera some time.

Right then, Valeras transmission arrived by the pykes. Takumi's negotiation tactic worked. The pykes looked at each other in both ships. A few moments of silence passed, when a transmission came back to Valery {You are not in the position, to give us a choice like that. You are outnumbered} after that silence again for a few moments. {Last chance. Stand down, or we shoot} Because of this, one patrol ship, steered towards Valerys X-wing, to start to shoot with its two laser cannons if she would decide against leaving.

Meanwhile, Takumi tried to activate the turbines of his gunship. Many buttons were pressed, levers pushed and pulled. "Come on, come on" after many more buttons and such stuff, finally, the turbines turned on. "YES!" Takumi cheered. He steered towards, the other patrol ship, with his own ship. He didn't want to leave Valery alone, since his ship was working now. Hopefully, his laser cannons were still working too.

Takumi had bought her the time to get settled inside of her ship, and now she sat ready with her weapons and shields online. They might have her outnumbered, but she was in an agile fighter that was heavily modified to be used by her specifically. It had the firepower to disable their ships easily — she was sure of it.​

"I'm afraid I can't tolerate your pursuit of Wookie slaves, so I will not be standing down." Valery communicated back before she very suddenly accelerated in an attempt to circle around the Pyke ships. Getting up behind one of them, she used the Force to guide her targeting system and fired a burst of her overturned quad-cannons at their engines.​

​

On her sensors, Valery noticed that Takumi was trying to power up his ship as well, likely in an attempt to join this clash or get out. But to be safe, she quickly opened a channel and transmitted a message to him as well.​

​

"Try not to kill them; just disable if you have to."​

​

With the message sent, she continued her high-speed maneuvers and aimed all her heavy cannon bursts at their engines or weapons. These Pykes were going to quickly learn that it wasn't a good idea to go up against a trained Jedi inside a fighter.​

The pykes didn't bother replying, as they also maneuvered to get Valery as a target. Though their ship was bigger and less maneuverable, they had a hard time keeping up with the X-wing. Therefore they raised up their shields to be protected from Valerys shots. Before the shield activated though, one shot hit, making one engine blow up. The ship was significantly slower now, but still operational. The second ship, started its covering fire, by turning around and firing its twin laser cannons towards the X-wing.

Takumi pushed a lever away from him, so the engines would fire up more. He grabbed his joystick, steering towards the already damaged pyke patrol ship. {Copy that. I'll finish the one you shot at} Shooting a small burst out of his two laser cannons, he tried to hit the complete intact patrol ship quickly, before turning to the damaged one. He followed it and kept shooting towards it. Even though it was damaged, the pilot seemed to be experienced, as he did some heavy maneuvers to evade getting hit. Finally, some shots hit, but due to the shield, it didn't do much damage. Takumi didn't give up though and kept shooting.

The intact ship flew towards Valery while keep shooting. Takumi's shots missed though. {Lemme know if you need help} Takumi added. Before taking off, he did put on a headset, so he could speak via a microphone integrated into the headset.

"I'll keep you covered until you're out of here. Remember, get rid of the tracking device." Valery communicated back while she kept up the sharp turns and sudden bursts of acceleration. It was easy enough to dodge most of their fire and the few bolts that she couldn't evade were absorbed by her shields.​

​

For a dogfight, her X-wing was far more useful than their larger patrol ships. But as she explained earlier, Valery wasn't looking to blow their ships apart whatsoever — she wanted to disable them at most, but simply leaving them in the dust once Takumi had gotten away would be just fine as well.​

​

But as the fight continued, a message came through again.​

​

{Lemme know if you need help} ​

​

"I should be fine, get out of here and I'll keep them busy here long enough for you to get rid of them for good. Stay out of trouble." Valery replied before she cut the comms and focused fully on the dogfight. Burst after burst of her cannons struck their shields, their engines, or other non-critical systems.​

​

Only when Takumi made his escape would she make her own.​

A little disappointing for Takumi. Now he was all hyped for the space fight, but he did listen to Valery. {Fine. Be safe, and thank you again} he transmitted. He shot his final shots at the gunship, before pulling the joystick, so that his ship, turned upwards, away from the pyke ship. "Now let's see, where to go" he talked to himself and pressed some buttons. Then after thinking about where to go, he finally put in the coordinates, pushed a few buttons above him and finally, he pushed the lever completely away from him, and with a little subdued explosion, that was heard, Takumi's ST-70 Gunship, disappeared into hyperspace. Takumi was gone.

Slowly but surely, the pykes realized, they would lose this fight. Of course, they all heard and saw the disappearance of Takumi, so now there was nothing here for them. They communicated to each other, while the pilot was still fighting Valery, but to no avail. She was too good of a pilot and destroyed their systems, until the final blow of her, crippled the engines, and the pykes were in the same situation, as Takumi was when he came out of hyperspace. One ship was unable to move, the other had only one engine running. A hyperspace jump was therefore also not an option. They tried to get a message out, to the others, this would maybe be their final option.

To an extent, Valery understood that Takumi wanted to engage the Pykes — it was a fight they'd easily win together and they had caused him a lot of trouble. But to destroy their ships would only result in the Pykes never really leaving him be. They would send out bounty hunters and whatever else they could for revenge.​

​

So when he decided to accept her suggestion, she was quite relieved. ​

​

With Takumi jumping into hyperspace, Valery focused all her efforts on making sure the Pykes were kept busy. Several more of her attack runs followed, but she held off on releasing all of her fighter's full firepower against them. She just disabled them and when they were bound to be stuck in the same position Takumi had been in, she accelerated away.​

​

"Stay safe out there." She muttered, mostly to just herself.​

​

She gained enough clearance from the Pyke ships and before any reinforcements could arrive, she jumped into hyperspace as well, back on her original course to go home.​

The moment, Valery jumped into hyperspace, more ships from the pyke syndicate came out of hyperspace. They instantly contacted the two ships and asked what happened and after a short discussion, they all prepared, to take the ships in. Together they all jumped into hyperspace, leaving this part of space as well. They tried to identify the second ship that attacked, but they had no information whatsoever. For now, they would leave them alone. For them Takumi just got lucky.

Takumi himself made a pitstop and the very next planet he saw when he jumped out of hyperspace. Landing somewhere on a scarcely visited spaceport, he jumped out of his ship and instantly took off the tracking device the pykes have put on his ship. With that, Takumi was save from the pykes for now.
