Braze shook his head slowly. "Maybe I'm just projecting my own thoughts… but if I am, then at least I've come to see you in a different light," he mused, voice quiet.

"I think you give me too much credit," he added with a faint smile, brushing the comment away like dust on his sleeve.

"But okay. If you do die… I'm gonna kill you."

It was said with such casual finality as if something entirely nonsensical, that it somehow made perfect sense coming from him.

"You're the Knight of the two of us. I don't think you give yourself enough credit." It was something he'd seen a lot with Braze. Unspoken envy of a sort, for Aris. He never did understand why. As strong as Aris was, it wasn't like he actually won anything. His strength didn't matter if he couldn't actually hit what he needed to. Braze didn't have that issue.

"I won't, though. Not that I think I can't, but I've no desire to."

Braze let out a breath that might've been a laugh, but came out more like a huff through his nose. It was hard to tell with him where the humor ended and something heavier began.

"You say that like I want the title... I did... just never pictured it like this." he said. "Knight. Like it means I've got it figured out.... I'm not sure that I do... I miss Japser greatly so...."

He shifted where he levitated and turned about drawing his arms loosely to rest across his chest in a self soothing motion.

"Still…" He glanced sideways at Aris, just briefly. "Thanks."

That part he didn't brush off. Didn't bury it under sarcasm or deflection.

"But…If I had to choose someone to die beside... I think I'd still rather you didn't....But enough talk of death and woes. What are your plans now? Still the same lofty goals?"

"Huh?"

Confusion filled Aris's expression. How Braze was knighted? Missing Jasper? None of this was information Aris had actually learned. Confusion gave way to concern instead as his brow knitted together. ".. There's a whole story there. What happened? Why do you miss Jasper?"

Braze frowned, shifting uneasily, "There was a... significant problem on Ord Providence. We were there for a field trip, part of a cultural exchange program. I was with several other Padawans and Knight Lidos. And then there was that guy from Tython, Lord Kalrath who showed up amidst the hostile take over of teh temple...Jasper Knighted me right then and there and instructed me to get the others to safety. I followed his orders without hesitation... managed to get everyone in my charge out of harm's way. But when I returned for him... he was gone. He was taken by a Yo-thor ship."

The weight of those words hung in the air, and Braze's eyes reflected regret.


He frowned looking away and sighing softly. " I always wanted to be knighted... but not like that... I have mixed feelings about it all.... but most importantly I'm not really sure what to do... I'm trying to find Jasper, and to uphold what responcibilities I have now... "
