Karlie Lynn Destat
Conspiracy Theorist and Investigator (IBI)
In the still of the night....
"Oh...it's alright." No it really wasn't. Her side throbbed and it were an effort just to even walk, let alone sit herself under the tree. Not that it were as painful as before, just that now it was dulled by the meds and her body was just beat... tired.
Karlie were stiffening up ...all her muscles were stiffening up. Typical really of any human meat puppet following a multi topsy-turvy salad toss...the limo accident. You know, the next day aces and pains .
Still, it were nice having Vera taking care of her like she had on the Morpheus a few months back. Romance, unending...
One would think the same post scenario was replaying again, just rewritten. Karlie had been ruffed up by CIS operatives not a few months past...although she seemed to have blocked quite a few of those horrid memories. As to why Karlie couldn't recall all of her ordeal, she had chalked it up to shock and stress under all that duress.
But the point is, here she were once more caught in the middle of some old vendetta that embroiled not just her freakish mother/sister, but that of blind vengeance centering around her most trusted ally, Nine Lives. A lot of baddies had it out for both of these two sweet girls. Although the one ancient psycho vampire may have had it coming awhile. Just saying....
"It's... It's a pretty good patch job you did... pain's not as sharp as it were first..." Karlie ran her hand over the hardened makeshift cast under her shirt.
"...really." What else were she to say..that she wished she had been conscious when Vera was modeling the plaster over her?
Her eyes came up to Vera's under the canopy of the night stars. It weren't difficult to imagine how Vera's hands worked their magic over her.
With those thoughts germinating sitting under the old oak, the previous discomfort she were feeling were readily distancing, as she traced over Vera's features... eyes, cheek, nose, lips... flawless.
Even the smell of dew collecting on the grass in the cool night air was refreshing...tantalizing even... evoking the blonde's primal urges. Karlie was after all, a rejuvenated human female, whereas before her midi purge her emotions were somewhat force influenced. Now...
Now her emotional state and levels were more instinctive, more primal. She had urges, and she were hooked on this gorgeous older woman; Vera.
As the scene unfolds, the two were alone at the edge of the woods near the station. Vera had moved their speeder out of sight as a precaution. All were still around them, say with just the sounds of crickets and fireflies about. That, and her heart which had picked up the tempo, since Vera helped her sit under the tree. If Karlie weren't so handicapped at that moment, she was certain to be jumping her, as even Vera's torn apparel looked to Karlie like the sexiest thing Vera had ever worn.
The matured woman had such perfect form, such perfect skin...
Damn...mother/no mother block, Karlie would have chanced it if she could. That is, if she weren't in a makeshift cast. Ok..the throbbing and deadened pain (she had been administered pain killers from the med kit) when she thought about it were blockers themselves. But her mind/body were finding the means in suppressing those discomforts at the moment... Karlie were sweating her beautiful Vera.
Vera... Vera so perfect...so caring...
Even in the pale star-light, she were so beautiful. The very fact that Vera were not at her pristine self; her hair, her clothes, lack of makeup...nothing was out of place.
Even the dirt and grime on her features never looked so inviting, so modest. Her Vera wore humility beautifully.
Damn it, it was going to happen...one day soon. Oh by Berkana (her God) she was so intent on it despite the consequences...her sex blocking freakish mother wouldn't be able to stop her. Damn KARLA! Karlie wanted Vera so much at that moment, she felt nothing would stop her given the chance again. Karlie was set on it, just that the cards weren't stacked in her favor at the moment..again. Thank you mother and you other mother frakers! And damn you too ,Ian. Karlie could curse the Universe right now.
Er, wait... maybe not Ian right now. No, thinking about it, she were relieved that the colonel had shown up. Ok, so she had a good idea that the man punched her lights out, not an hour or so ago. Still, he had come for her. Her eyes trailed to the station. The robot girl and Ian were still inside. How much time had passed?
He had left her outside there with Vera, taking the other girl, the robot girl with him inside the station. If anyone could get a transmission through to Castagne, it were the colonel...pain in the ass sometimes, but quite dependable, when he needed to be.
...most times.
Checks and balances...oh how it irked her sometimes as to how her bureau had to constantly keep the ICI in check. Ok, well this round, they (the colonel in this case) were keeping her, an IBI operative in check. Likely deployed by her father no doubt.
Hmm....
The slight detour in thinking about Ian, was enough for her to pull her heart and erotic desire from Vera for a moment. And just in time as she picked up on what Vera had already known...muffled blaster fire in the distant.
Pew..pew...pew...
No wait, it was coming from inside the station.
Karlie managed to right herself up in a sitting position.
"What's going-" But before she could finish, Vera urged her to take cover, to hide, helping Karlie up on her feet. The blonde knew enough not to argue and did so manage to get back up. Of course, Vera was as gentle as she could in handling the delicate human, but there was no real time to pamper her, lest they were soon discovered by these men.
No sooner had Karlie stood behind their tree, that the whining engines of a speeder passed over the tree canopy.
Varoom... the trees shook as the vehicle passed overhead...In no time soon, it were followed by a few more low level crafts swarming from different directions. Karlie and Vera were near the clearing, in the woods a good distance from the station itself . As each craft came to a stop, they immediately deployed men... armed men. Troops!
"Gasp..." Frak, they were here for them! A large scale hit squad...assassins!
For a moment, fear, panic overtook her as production of adrenaline came up to peak. Suddenly a lot of her soreness and exhaustion went away.
"Ian...he's, he's in there-" he first thought after the momentary panic attack was for her comrade, before she got cut off again. Vera was on the move and moving closer and nearer to the goons who were there to kill them or whatever.
"Vera...nooo..." Karlie undertone was trying to urge her Vera from engaging. As Karlie figured, they were insanely outnumbered already and more vehicles were coming, swarming over the area. Frak, had that robot inside tripped an alarm? It was what was going through the blond's mind, as she knew Ian was too smart to trip over anything. Damn robot girl...
Before she knew it, her Vera was running. running toward the goons or who ever they were!
Nope, she missed the part where her Vera took the ma's blaster and fed him a round.
"Shiet!" She peeked up when the shot sounded off. Vera was working herself closer to the building and to the vehicles.
Frak me!" she said before sprinting toward Vera-
...er not quite sprinting, but hobbling kind of fast toward Vera. No way she were going to abandon Vera and run away alone. She were determined to get Vera to make a run. Only that Vera was going in the wrong direction, toward the hit squad.
Hot and close to Vera's rump she finally caught up and stayed crouched behind it, as for some reason or other it kind of was a natural thing...you know, Vera's rump being a good cover. Go figure.
"Vera, seriously...don't be crazy. What are you doing?..." she back handed the sexy rear in front of her as she remained crouched behind Vera.
"Stop shooting at them...we need to make a run for it." pew..pew..
No, the blonde had little clue of the accuracy her beautiful Vera had. In fact, the brunette was systematically taking out one goon at a time. Vera was popping off one after another, without the next knowing that the other was down until it were his turn.
pew..pew..pew..pew...
The moment they realized, they broke their assault into two. One half continued on to storm the station, the rest remained near the vehicles to return fire to whom ever was shooting at them... if they could only be allowed a moment to identify their assailants. Which by the way was just Vera, as Karlie was nothing more than trailing yapping little puppy.
"I know what I'm talking about. EEK!" pew..pew..
"I...I know about these things... we can't hold defensive position for too long, Vera....EEK!" Pew..pew.. Laser bolts hurling past her, she could not only feel the heat, but the air was laden with O-zone and smoke.
"We're outnumbered!...we've got to escape..EEK!" Pew..pew...
Yes, she knew these things. But knowing didn't mean she had practical experiences. Sure, she had mock training under her belt, had studied tactics and urban warfare. But being book smart and never seeing real action in real life situations just never could cut it for anyone. Then again, Karlie was love blind. The fact was that she were hard pressed against an assassin biot's soft rump and didn't know it.
pew..pew..pew..
With Vera keeping the blond in check behind her, Karlie only heard the bolts wiz by and Vera's return fire. It didn't even dawn on her as Vera lead the way closer to the station that the bodies on the floor were Vera's precision handiwork. There was too much commotion, ear splitting blaster discharges, scurrying, dodging, ducking and basically being pulled, pushed behind Vera to really see all that were taking place.
Pew...pew...
?
...pew.
?
...silence...
Now what?
The blaster fire had suddenly stopped. Karlie then popped her head from behind the Vera's bubble butt.
"Gasp." She saw the last of the goons collapse headless like a puppet before Westenra.
"Oh Berkana...
Sh...she didn't just lob-" What, she weren't trusting her own eyes?
Shock.
It were then that she slowly took in the carnage. So many men sprawled out just about everywhere. that is, everywhere they were dropped . It were hard to grasp at the totality of the scene. In retrospect, she and Vera...oh yes, and the girl robot should have been dead.
Wait, who was that?
"West, behind you..u.."
Ian finally emerged from the building too.
"Oooh.."
He was alive. Karlie couldn't believe it. There had been dozens..several dozen men that had stormed the station inside. How where HE alive and standing for that matter?
Ian too seemed to scan the carnage outside a moment before rushing over to Karlie.
Was she alright he asked...or something along those lines. The blonde was still lagging as to what all had gone down.
"Uhm yea, I.. I guess." She replied. Of course one must realize the post dramatic stress humans normally experience when they just scatted death.
"I mean, yes. Yes..I was with Vera. We...uhm... we got throught it..." Oh golly, how it were all replaying in her head as what she had managed to see. It had clearly not been much as there were way, way too many body counts to chalk it up to just one shooter (Vera) on the outside and the two inside.
Before Karlie could form any coherent inquiry as to how in Berkana's sake had they survived this ordeal, Ian took hold of her arm. They had to move and move fast. There was no doubt in his mind that there would be more sent out to do what these cadavers couldn't.
The notion of taking one of the armed speeders was quickly crushed by Karlie. Yes, she had to voice her expertise...book expertise. Besides, this time it made sense.
"No, no...we can't take one of them. they would have tracking devices on them. I mean...it's what I would have on them if I were deploying a hit squad. They should also know by now, as most likely they were all fitted with bio-transmitters, that they are all dead too."
And so it was that Vera retrieved their speeder and the two luckiest humans on Azteri left the battle scene with the galaxy's two deadliest biots. Of course the human blonde still had little clue her Vera was the groups most sinister assassin, as it quite enjoyed making beautiful orifices for the meat puppet's blood to flow out of.
The tally...
They were once more speeding along in the middle of the night.
Karlie still hadn't wrapped her head as to how they got away and what exactly went down. Westenra, whom by now Karlie kept referring to as 'West' was at the helm again with ian up front like before.
only...
Only the man was unusually quite in lieu that Westenra and Vera were comparing numbers. When asked as to his tally, Ian just kept quiet for some time. The tally came up a few times before he blurted out "FIVE..... Five, OK?!.." before he returned looking out his starboard window.
"What's with the numbers you guys?..." Karlie who by the way had an astonishing record number of 'Zero' asked. .."that the amount of enemy you all took down?"
"By the way...that's five over the ones I shot before the hit squad showed up... so you know..." Ian then replied, pulling his self from admiring the near pitch-black passing vista they were speeding by.
Only he didn't reply to Karlie, but to Westenra who were piloting the speeder next to him. Seemed Ian lacked boasting about his numbers as the biot (Westenra) with all her spinning and fancy blade work, had not given him many good clear shots as she worked them down and out to Karlie and Vera.
"Oh...it's alright." No it really wasn't. Her side throbbed and it were an effort just to even walk, let alone sit herself under the tree. Not that it were as painful as before, just that now it was dulled by the meds and her body was just beat... tired.
