Banned Species List Updated

Status
Not open for further replies.
Banned Species
Celestials
Yammosk (Banned Only For Character Creation. They may be NPC'd.)
Dragons (Banned Only For Character Creation. They may be NPC'd.)
Mnggal-Mnggal
Zillo Beasts

Banned Characters
Santa Claus
Any Canon-Star Wars Character (Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker)

This list is retroactive, meaning any characters currently role-played as these species must change their species.

It seems a little unfair to make it retroactive and tell the members whom have put a lot of hard work into their characters that they must change the species.

You banned our Mnggal-Mnggal.
You banned our Ragna Dragon.
You (nigh) banned our God, but didn't because it's actually a plant, not a dragon/fauna.
You banned our Yammosk.

This is a great step forward in leading the Horde into a new era of prosperity! Let's ban all the important characters we have!

To clarify.

If the character uses a species that was subbed and approved through the Species Factory... They can still use those characters? Such as the unique "Leviathan" (unrelated to the wookieepedia sub of the same name) that is on the board?

[member="Marmora"] I agree as well. What are you going to do about accepted customs species that resemble or are referred to as a "type" of dragon? I know a plethora of dragon-eque characters, and some of them have reason to be sentient, and thus playable. It isn't like they have OP tech like the Celestials, a precedent for banning, and most cases not physically over powering for some characters to manage.

I'm not much of a dragon guy myself, but it still rubs on the unfair side to me. If it wasn't retroactive, I'd much more inclined to agree with this.

In the meantime, let's all just reflect that while dragons are banned... multi-limbed 100meter tall, force using Zillo beasts are still running around.

I understand this is an issue that is important to you. As I told the Republic, every decision is finite and can be overturned.

I ask that you get other Dragon players together and begin working on an alternate proposal for a "restriction" that may be applied to the Dragon-species, in place of the ban. Similar to how we have restricted technology, I am open to restricting Dragons instead of banning them.

If it was approved, yes.

The main problem I see with it being retroactive is that it is not as simple as just 'change the species.' The entire character would have to be remade depending on many aspects the species augmented. For instance, Strengths, Weaknesses, Appearance, general stats such as age, height, weight. All these would need to be changed.

You guys scream unfair at stuff but it'd be cool if it wasn't retroactive?

How would that even be remotely fair for me to say "Okay, everyone who made a Dragon up until now can keep their Dragon, but nobody else can have a Dragon."

It's almost like you only yell "unfair" when it suits you. Try looking at the big picture. I can count the amount of Dragons with 50+ posts on one hand.
