Nefertari watched as the Sith consumed the tree with the power of the dark side. Wood shrapnel flew everywhere.
A flurry of the Jedi's robe kept that from hitting her.
Normally the rustle of the fabric would alert an enemy. However, the Countess could sense the Sith's determination. He was still unaware of her presence.

The path was clear
Thank you Mr. Sith, now accept this token of my thanks

The Jedi cast her robe off as she leapt using the force, leaving it full of holes on the floor.
She landed on the back of the Sith Lord, keeping hold with her brass hand on the back of his neck.
The blade of the datadagger poisoned with Bundar root plunged into his right arm. The attack would poison the Sith for sure. It wouldn't kill him, but it would impair his ability to reason and slightly mess with the Sith's memory.

Twisting her personal weapon as she pulled it out, Nef let go and tumbled to the ground.
Hopefully Nefertari had hit the tendon, that would disable the Sith's arm for this battle.

Nef put her dagger away and took hold of her new lightsaber.
It contained a product of Sith Alchemy, just like the man's sword. It was her best chance in a fight.

Damian did as he was instructed. He found his center and protected the troops. He wasn’t supposed to jump in and attack a Sith unless Kana was in trouble. That was the caveat he’d made sure of before agreeing. No instead he just deflected blaster bolts and swatted the stupid vong bugs out of the air like… well like stupid bugs. He swatted them like bugs.

All that changed when a dark presence entered the room. He came in at a speed that seemed to confound reason dashing to the entrance. There he stood, a man of stature, of vanity, of pure evil. There stood Darth Vornskr. Damian had no clue who he was, but could feel the darkness seeping from him and knew one thing, he couldn’t let this foul creature go near Kana.

He ignited his saber and leap up onto the platform over the battle and approached the sith lord brandishing his blaster and firing several ion shots into the sith lord...

As the wave of force power washed over her and through her mental and force defenses she prepared for the worst but…it never came. And soon she knew why while she had recovered from the worst trauma of the loss of Corellia the pain in the force the terror and suffering all had left a mark. While it by no means made her immune so much to force powers it did steel here against simple attempts to wash over her with such things so easily. Oh he staggered her she felt her body shudder with it’s passing wake like a giant wave had crashed into her. She recovered though and stepped up to face Darth Carach looking at him sternly her robes loose enough to show the jedi battle armor the padawan wore. “Sorry I’m not trembling Sith, you guys already took from me my home twice, the second time you made me have only a broken destroyed planet left to call a homeworld. My friends, my family all gone. I felt it all billions of souls taken in once great catastrophe. So you think some parlor trick with fear is going to equal the pain I endured from that? Sorry but the day you sith pulled that stunt you washed away the girl entirely from that world. She now lives only as a spirit within this form, but I am a jedi and my duty as a Guardian is to stand against the darkness.” She moved to take a stance for djem so as it was she gauged the best chance she had at handling this guy or makashi. But who knew she’d have to find out. What was showing only slightly for now was the pain, was it meotionional? Physical? She couldn't be entirely sure it was as if it came from places all over and nowhere. She clenched her teeth eyes closed tightly for a moment before they opened. However he teeth stayed clenched for now as she tried to focus on her foe not the pain.

Mind tricks. Fething fabulous, Mr. Tentacle Sith. Of course he had to be a mentalist, of all things. Why not another pyromaniac? She had dealt with one of those before. Hell, she would have even taken one of those tank-Sith over someone like this guy. Why? Because she had some things she wanted to keep secret. People already knew she was a slave. Most, however, didn't know about her former master (Domino, once-leader of the Black Suns), her criminal record (manslaughter, theft, and assault), or what she had done during her 'dark years'. But what scared her the most was the fact that she didn't know about the dark years either. That part of her mind hadn't been accessed for as long as she could remember. No one, as far as she was aware, knew where she had been from age nineteen to twenty-two. If this man wanted to... he could probably dig into her thoughts and pull out information even she didn't have.
That terrified her.
Was she going to let it stop her? No. Not yet, at least.

As quickly as she could she glanced the man over once more, looking for any hints as to how he ticked, how he worked. That arm of his seems like it might be an even bigger problem than his force powers, Rin thought, Before she could even think of what to look for next he was moving again- and fast. Luckily his focus was still on the other Jedi. They engaged, a flurry of blades allowing her to get a guess at what form the Sith was using. Her best guess?... Didn't have one. Things were moving to quick for her to truly get a grasp of his preferred style. Now, if the two of them had been the ones locking blades... it would have been a different story. Echani were known for being able to tell a lot about their opponents based off of a fight. For just a moment she mused about what she might learn. But then her mind snapped back to the present: It was still to dangerous, at least in her mind, for her to try and use the force. To many people were to close. If she slipped up even a little...

I won't let that happen. Svarin Noimare scowled, took a deep breath in, and started to move like she was going to engage the other invaders within the room. In reality she was buying time. Apparently time to overhear some words being spoken. Magic. An old kind, from days where all monsters were as real she was now. That couldn't mean anything good. Knowing it was the time to act she made a sharp turn, leaping as she did, bringing one blue lightsaber towards the main Sith's tentacle arm, aiming at the mid-point. Her second blade remained closer to her in case he launched a counter-attack.

A dark-haired man ran past her. He signalled her a two-fingered salute before continuing to jog past her. At first she thought they were heading towards the sale location, and she considered following him for a while. However, she had a feeling she simply needed to keep on going forward. That was what her gut told her and that was what she was going to do.

She wasn’t sure if she was lucky or not that nobody started attacking her yet. Perhaps it was all a part of faith, chance. With all the blasters and lightsabers zapping past her as she trudged on. It was all a game really; this big battle between good and evil. Of course, to the common man, they probably associated the Sith with being evil.

They weren’t evil. They just had a different concept of what good was. And now, she was going to do what she wanted to do for the greater good. Well, for her greater good.

Come out, come out, wherever you are~

The troops have marched tirelessly since the beginning, and would continue to do so without complain. They were well-disciplined and no stranger to hardship. The young officer had made sure that everything had gone accordingly to plan.

A master-class ruse in the making. Okay so, it wasn't so much a master ruse, but more of a tactical retreat. But, whatever.

That was the main reason she sent those scouts in the first place. As soon as they had reported back with the news that the Jedi commander in charge of the defenses at the factory facility had given the order to dig in and prepare for the assault, she kicked her plan into full gear after informing the commander about her brilliant new idea.

The Republic defenders were too well dug in and had fortified the facility position to withstand the incoming assault. The numbers of the defenders weren't too far away from the their combined attack forces, and they had the advantage of fighting from a fortified structure. Fighting a force user without one on your side for back-up would be considered foolhardy at best. From the way they had fortified the place, it would take quite a while to get everything ready to be on the move once more.

That was why she had came up with this stratagem. Greta had ensured that every step they took, every move they did made it seem like an attack was imminent. The scouts had gone on to scout for the attack, the troops were marching full strength to the location of the factory, etc. She had made sure to leave critical key information for the enemy scouts to pick up that they would be attacking the factory in force.

The troops the defenders were expecting never came, as the Sith forces had marched backwards to D1 instead of forwards to C2. She had arranged her best troopers together with the unit of storm commandos to guard the rear. There was a high chance that the Jedi and his forces would pursue them once they left the sector, and the vulnerable rear must be protected at all costs. Once they leave D2, they would then proceed to sector D1 then onwards to C1 followed by B1 before arriving in B2, joining up with Darth Carach and his apprentice, Darth Nephthys, reinforcing their ranks.

Then, would they have a chance against the blasted Jedis.

As Des came around to transition into his next strike, he found the movement of his arm jerked to a halt by a vice grip. Incredulously, he looked down to find the Sith's tentacle arm things firmly wrapped around his wrist. There was a terrible pressure on his grip, and Des grunted in pain as he struggled to keep his lightsaber aloft. All of his attention went to fighting this pressure, his attacking rage all but forgotten so easily. He was only vaguely aware of the other three presences in the room, the second Sith, the Jedi, and the comms supervisor. Des grinned up defiantly at the Sith when he complained, the pain forcing him down to one knee. "Yeah, I'm a real pain," he panted in low, shallow breaths. The truth of it was, of course, that he was in real pain, but he would never give the Sith the satisfaction of knowing that, or so he thought.

But right before him, out of the mist of his blurred vision, strode the one figure he was not ready for. Accompanying the image of [member=Cylus Jest] was a sudden searing pain in his cheek. It came from the amphistaff poison, but Des did now know that. To him, it felt just like the feeling Jest's tiny spider bots had given him when they had scythed at his hand. Finally giving in to the rush of pain in his cheek, the dull throbbing of his wrist, the fear of seeing the inquisitorial agent again, Des screamed. "No... No... Not you! Anyone but you! Nooooo!" His senses too dulled by the overwhelming pain in his wrist and cheek, Des did not have the strength or attention to disbelieve the apparition. Instead, he dropped his lightsaber, the blade fading away, and rose his hands to his temple in a vain attempt to rub out some of the pain. For all intents and purposes, the Jedi Padawan was immobilized for now.

Apparently there was no time for progression. A pair of Sith Lords had just poofed into existence in their partition of the complex without rhyme or reason, sporting some of that ugly Vong stuff. The site of it was more incapacitating than the pain one was attempting to propagate in their brains. Everyone knows good guys get the cool toys. Resorting to creepy crawlies on one's skin was pretty desperate. "Nice to meet you."

Taci had not yet ignited her saber, and was not planning on it for the next few seconds or so. She had appropriately been taught at an early age that it was kind of dangerous to run with knives. So she departed from her attunement with the Force and went commando; off the supernatural radar while she dashed for the shadows behind all that equipment she had been scavenging around prior to all this craziness.

She was feeling the beginnings of a bit of a migraine at this point, which was interesting to note, because the only time she had experienced a migraine before was when she had curled up inside a dishwasher for a good three hours. Fun stuff.

There were switchboards and the like--quite useful. And this was not the twi'lek's first time at the electronics rodeo. She could practically do as she liked with the environment. This was her territory.

And so the room's lights went out.

A telepathic piece of advice was also dispensed to her fellow Republic defenders.

Kana reaped the benefits of a moment to reassess the situation once more. Saber at the ready she prepared herself accordingly. Whatever saber technique her opponent had up their sleeve would be ready. Which perhaps was the part where she went wrong. That was just it, she was prepared for an attack with a saber. When she was instead met with a push her entire body plummeted off of the very platform the two of them were fighting on.

Kana’s back caught her fall and for a second everything turned into a haze. She rolled over in a groan as the rush of still being in motion forced her back to life. She was on a conveyor belt full of trash, but where was it all going?

It didn’t matter. Their tango would simply have to be allowed to continue down the unknown paths of a conveyor belt system unlike any other that Kana had ever seen.

With her lightsaber held out like a beacon in the dark she waited for her opponent to come to her.

Nothing about this spelled out genius in the Jedi Master’s mind but it was the best idea she could think of.

A wave of terror crashed against the walls of Kaia's resolve. She wavered in an overwhelming sensation of isolation within a pitch-black darkness that swallowed everything.

There is no emotion; there is peace.
They were all going to die, every single one. She would never see the beauty of the galaxy.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
It would all be swallowed up in fire, and darkness, and eyes full of hate.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
Who could stand against such chaotic, reckless hatred?
There is no chaos; there is harmony.
Kaia would die here, on this barren moon.
There is no death; there is the Force.

As the waves of terror and despair crashed against her mental fortifications, her master’s voice reverberated in her mind with the words of the Jedi Code like an opposing flow. Kaia tugged on her ashen blonde hair with a shaking right hand, her left hand clenching the lightsabre. “There is no death; there is the Force.” A shaky inhale and a forced exhale. She lifted her head and stared at the hideous figures before her. No death meant no fear. There is no emotion; there is peace.

Kaia gripped her lightsabre with both hands again, and advanced at Darth Carach with renewed determination. She could feel her heartbeat in her throat, her fingers, and her toes. However, she also felt the Force, the soothing flow of the Force. Kaia stepped up alongside Catherine Soja to face off against the Sith Lord. To face him was to face everything she was afraid of, to face the end of Life, The Galaxy and Everything.

And then the lights went out, it made little to no difference to Kaia, but the advice she received was splendid. She smiled as she put a rebreather on her mouth with a quick right hand, still holding her lightsabre in a vertical, defensive position.

The others were running away. Everyone except Laura who seemed to turn back. She was afraid. Kaili was afraid but Laura seemed a lot more afraid than the youngest Talith did. Going back wasn’t a good move yet Kai had to leave, she had to escape this place and find mother.

But not without knowing everyone else was doing the same.

Her eyes darted across the floor. She had to face the fear head on, for her own sake. Besides, there wasn’t a single doubt that if anything happened to Kai or her friends it would be the end of her ‘uncle’ and his occasional presences around Casa de Talith.

“Laura, no!” Kaili chased after her friend. “Stop!”

Kaili placed herself in front, back facing Na’varro. “If he wanted you dead you would already be dead.”

One hand unhooked a Kaili saber from her belt. It wasn’t ever turned on but she kept her thumb on the the ready nonetheless. As much as she wanted to trust the fact that Cameron was part of family she couldn’t help let the slight unease shift over into distrust. She would be ready to defend her friends, but she didn’t really count on having to do such a thing.

Her nerves settled, she calmed herself.

“Laura, we need to get to the ship. We don’t want to do anything stupid.”

Falling from the sky at high speeds was something that always brought a sort of adrenaline rush to people. Perhaps it was the thrill of knowing that if you timed things wrong you would end up as a splatter of blood and gore finely sewn into the ground. Cylus personally didn't feel much of a thrill out of it, though it did bring a slight smile to his face. It was good to freefall, spreading his wings out as he neared the ground so as to slow himself down.

Was there a reason to attack this place? Of course there was, nothing happened without good reasoning behind it, at least when it came to the reasonings and assaults of sentient beings, there was always a sort of strange psychology whether it was conscious or not. He was here because there was surveillance saying that his old...associate [member="Des Kovak"] would be here. Des had not completed his mission, had he? Well, he would need to pay for that sort of insolence.

Cylus kicked his boots together, a slight peppering of fire sparking off of them as they activated and slowed his final descent, he fell to the ground in a flourish of a cloak. His cold eyes scanning the small station ahead of him. "Entrance made." He spoke softly to himself as he began to approach the building.

In the blink of an eye, the Jedi was gone from her field of vision, her blurred white silhouette plummeting downwards. The cool gaze of the Hand followed, fixated upon the form to see what fate befell her.

Pity.

Some sort of conveyor belt, it seemed. Hrm. How unfortunate; apparently her bout with the blonde wasn't slated to end with her grisly remains splattered all over the floor far below. She lingered at the thought for but a fraction of a second more and then she followed suit, leaping over the edge of the walkway with preternatural ease. The Skerr Kyrric gripping her body cooed happily as she neared the Jedi once again, reeling at the scent of blood in the air.

She planted her feet firmly against the metal bands carrying them forth towards some sort of gaping chasm in the wall behind the Jedi's back, taking care to avoid stepping onto the half-crushed pieces of garbage. Upon closer inspection the compressed cubes of trash would reveal a veritable mosaic of refuse that spoke of all the fascinating things the foundries of Telti produced, but Vrag couldn't be bothered with said inspection; not now, and not ever.

The trash, however, wasn't altogether useless, in the end. As the firrerreo advanced towards the Jedi with measured steps, the fingers of her left hand seemingly beckoned at the blonde, a gesture of goading; the timeless 'Come at me, bro'.

In truth, however, the Sith was seeking to manipulate one of the cubes behind her opponent's back, hurling it at the popliteal fossa of the Jedi's knee with a sharp pull. Nothing too damaging, really, but at this point, the smallest disruption of balance could send her foe tumbling down.

The blood-flecked whites of Des' eyes bulged as he faced the vision of his nightmares. The boy's terrorized screams gave Sage the most exquisite rush. The Sith Knight once again tethered himself to Des' mind so that he could bask in the boy's fear, letting it flood through his body like a powerful narcotic. The Jedi was frozen in place, perhaps even in shock. Sage's Vong arm uncoiled itself from Des' hand and whipped the Jedi's lightsaber hilt across the room. Sage cocked his head to the side. A familiar presence had entered the facility. How ironic that it was [member="Cylus Jest"], the man in the very apparition which held Des transfixed. The Sith Knight sent a mental whisper through the corridors, zeroing in on Jest's mind.

I have the one you seek. He will need an antidote to amphistaff poison if you would like to keep him alive. Come claim what is yours.

With that, Sage gazed down at the immobilized Jedi. His work was done. Soon, Des would feel his throat beginning to constrict. The boy's body would convulse with pain and suffering for a long twenty-four hours, and then the Padawan would die. His life was now in Jest's hands.

In the meantime, the Knight had another pest to deal with. Out of the corner of his eye, Sage saw the pink-haired Jedi ([member="Svarin Noimare"]), rushing towards him, swinging one of her two blue lightsabers. He whirled around to face her with a vicious smile. As the Sith Acolyte ([member="Shuduc Macar"]) attacked her with a lightsaber blow from one side, Sage, let her swing make contact with his tentacled arm. The trio of amphistaves were lightsaber resistant, and her strike only served to rile them up. The heads of the three creatures hissed and snapped, and a geyser of poisonous venom erupted from one of the fanged mouths. If it hit the female Padawan, she would suffer the same unlucky fate as her comrade.

Voidstalker's mind was clear. His brief mental battle against his own demons had been overcome. Now there was only action and reaction. He brought his saber home over and over until the it found a gap in the armour of the prone warrior before him. Jacen lifted his eyes to find he had reached the pair of Jedi. She now held a crimson blade, a clear sign of her status, even if he couldn't sense her manipulation of the Force in the eddies that disrupted it's typical flow. Dair needed his help.

There was no herald to his arrival, no warcry, no Ataru acrobatics, not even a vain attempt to convince the Sith of the error of her ways. Jacen did what he did best, he got on with the task at hand, quickly and efficiently.

Once he was close, he kept his footwork tight and controlled. As he circled around the Sith he never crossed his feet or allowed them to leave the ground by more than a few inches. In saber combat footwork was everything, and leaving yourself off-balance against a potentially explosively quick opponent was a good way to get killed. Couldn't help the world if he was returned to his maker so soon.

Seemed almost a cowardly act to attack the girl from behind, especially the young slip of a thing she seemed. But this was war now, he told himself. The veteran soldier knew you didn't fight on fair terms, you called in the gunship the vapourise the sniper, if it meant saving the lives of your own men. The little thing had bright blue skin, her head half-covered in jet black feathers. Looks could be deceiving and he knew a trained killer hid behind that porcelain beauty.

Keeping the tip of his golden blade at chest height and between them, he shifted his left leg forwards and aimed a tentative lunge. He didn't over extend, and was prepared to shift his balance again, but the blade moved inexorably for her left shoulder blade.

[member="Travot Ravenna"] had some gumption in him. There was strength in his body, for one still so young in the Force. Eager. Defiant.

Yessssss.... Perfect.

As the slash of his blade came to swipe at her body, the already extended saber would reach up to parry the strike with her saber outward, the hum of it close to her face before cast to the side. At the same time Nephthys would reach out to the padawawn with that clawed like vong crab armor covered gauntlet and went to make a grab the front of his robe, intending to jerk him closer --

The lights went out. But Darth Nephthys' Forcesight from her Miraluka heritage would prevail. The padawan's body would flare with the blue and gray tinted aura, everything mapped out through the Force. She gave a wolfish grin.

So close. Whether she was successful in dragging him to her or not, it wouldn't matter. Not at this distance.

Unable to be touched by the Force in intent or direction, it was then that the bafforka worm treated hydrastaff that had rested its five heads along her shoulder, it's lengthy body that would coil around her torso, go would fan for the attack. At point blank range, the sudden hiss of those five pairs of fangs would only serve to fuel his fears of the scene he'd imagined. Each head spits acidic venom at a distance of up to 20 meters. If contact with the blood stream is made, the poison will seep in and interfere with the victim's oxygen supply, causing excruciating pain and eventual asphyxiation over the course of an average twenty hours. As a descendent of one of the most durable objects grown by the Yuuzhan Vong, a Hydrastaff can not be cut through by a lightsaber.

Five heads would reach out to spit acidic venom towards the padawan's face...

The enemy heeded the call. A drop down onto the conveyor belt, a small beckoning for Kana to come at her and Kana obliged. With one step and a two step and a strange sensation of trash impacting on her butt she temporarily lost her balance as the force of the toss caused the jedi to stumble forwards.

She didn’t feel very graceful, but when did she ever?

Taking a few moments to regain her footing Kana cursed her clumsiness and the rust that seemed stuck in her gears. She hadn’t been this bad last time, she hadn’t taken this many beatings in comparison to how many she handed out in return. It didn't matter, still somewhat off-balance she was far more upfront about her own garbage toss.

Quite literally so.

A hand reached out to grab hold of what garbage she could find and tossed it for the opponent’s face. Not in the hopes of doing any harm but to buy herself time and a chance to regain complete balance.
