The Battalion smirked as she watched the blur, ever silent, ever slashing, attempt to flee as she drained its life, blocking a few desperate strikes from it.
The Witch, smelling blood, pursued it relentlessly, dodging attacks from other Juggernauts and a few drones, cutting away at them in retaliation as mercilessly as Xiphos did, though where Xiphos was straight forward, killing her opponents in a brutal manner the absolute moment they made a mistake against her, The Battalion spared a second or so to gloat and toy with the enraged Lobsters before beheading them, though she sustained minor wounds and it slowed her pursuit of the fleeing blur, though she had tasted it's essence and could feel it now and she pursued it, determined to make it feel absolute pain as it died. She ran through the strange city in the realm of Oblivion...
...and
almost stopped as she spotted Elaine Tear's students, murdered by her hand, staring at her as she ran past them.
Sudden disquiet she couldn't explain at seeing them again caused her to miss how it had turned around, deciding to fight as it's escape route was cut off by a falling building.
The Battalion snarled as one of its claws tore open her face as it slashed and swiped at her. Momentarily blinded in one eye, white blood and muscles hanging from one side of her face, she was momentarily forced back on the defensive against the blur, but her rage quickly began taking hold, allowing her to power parry it's vicious swipes and slashes.
She feinted left, ducking under a swipe she sensed and lunged, striking it's belly.
The creature tumbled back as she struck it again, not fatally, but instead to draw out its death. She would teach the impudent beast despair and terror as it's final sensations as it went to the blackness.
She severed it's tale, scarring it's face, refusing to kill it with her blade. She instead concentrated, tearing out the last of it's life essence painfully as she could, and slowly as it silently flailed about in Going as it's soul was devoured.
With this foul, cruel method of death, The Battalion healed up completely, and gained the honor of being the first person to kill the first Agrogost ever deployed. It's blur effect faded as it mummified, finally giving her a look at what it had been.
The Battalion dipped her finger in some of the Barracas Oil it had dripped on the ground as it fought. She took a sample, putting it on her small utility belt, then started heading back to help Xiphos, stopping as Elaine's slain students appeared before her again.
The Battalion smirked, folding her arms.
"Well look what the cat dragged in..." she said in a silken manner. "So what have you been doing with yourselves. I trust you've found the afterlife to be a sufficiently interesting experience."
They said nothing back. They only stared.
The Battalion's smile fell a bit at the corners.
"It really was nothing personal, mind you. But Lady Phyre had to prevent any chance of Elaine coming back to life within me, so down you went. If it had been up to
me, I'd have bothered to at least turn the most promising amongst you. I always considered torturing and killing
all of you to be a bit of a waste."
No response. After a moment, The Battalion sighed.
"We're still at silent treatment phase, huh?
Fine." The Battalion said, huffing as she walked past Elaine's dead students.
"I wouldn't worry, you know!" The Witch called out to them without looking. "
Something will get me one of these days. We'll hash it all out then..."
The Battalion's light red blade went active again as she sprinted back into the thick of combat, running from the intense, unpleasant sensation she felt at seeing Elaine's students again...
