Sorry, pretty stupid question I am sure, does the DLC effect the singleplayer mode or multiplayer?
I played the single player partway through, I don't enjoy multiplayer that much, it was nice. I got it for slightly less, like ten dollar or something akin to that. It was worth it.

Yeah, pretty fun. The DLC isn't necessary, however, unless you really want it.

I still play it, it's a lot of fun. But I didn't buy the DLC, because the price is ridiculous

You're not going to enjoy the game for very long without the DLC, and pretty much anyone you meet that plays is going to be playing a DLC map 80% of the time. I have EA Access so BF4 was free and Premium was fairly discounted, but is it worth the $75? Yeah, I'd say so, if you're into BF. Especially the finer points of BF, like levelution and 64-player Conquest.

IMO, if you wanna play BF4, you need a beefy connection, and a powerful console/computer. Otherwise you're sunk. That's what I've heard.
