Beautiful Castagne | CIS Dominion of Hex [S-46]

Casti234.png
divider.png
For quite some time [member="Karlie Lynn Destat"] has followed the path of the Confederacy on behalf of her Father, the esteemed, [member="Tarssin Destat"] and the time has come for Castagne to officially join the nation. For this reason, the people have invited the CIS to participate in their yearly Food and Wine Festival to experience Castan Culture first hand. Castagne is a beautiful planet with endlessly blue skies and pure clear water. They have little to no internal strife, crime is almost nonexistent, and they have made technological advances to ensure that their carbon footprint remains contained to acceptable levels.
Typically, alcohol is regulated, but for this event, the entire capital, by the name of Castantine, has been commandeered into the effort. The streets will be filled with a variety of vendors offering local cuisines and wine at nearly every turn. The Confederates would likely notice the inherent wealth of Castagne by the cleanliness of the city and the well-kept nature of its people. Even the ‘lower class’ put some of the lower class in other systems to shame. There will be no lack of entertainment.
Diplomatic matters have, for the most part, been settled. Uncharacteristically [member="Tarssin Destat"] would like to settle into his newly appointed role of Viceroy by showing the CIS what his planet has to offer versus debating about it continually in a boardroom. He believes that the easiest way for the Droid Nation to get to know his people is to be among them. They will notice some similarities to the Galactic Empire due to their roots, however, the Confederates need not worry. They parted from the more well-known Imperials long ago.
The goal of this Food and Wine festival is to find common ground, peace, and a sense of their new friends. The Castan people have also heard of the havoc wreaked on Melida/Daan, with the incurable virus, and feel the need to support the efforts and sacrifices made by the CIS to stop the spread of the disease. Karlie Lynn has actually been investigating a cure on a secure space station that remains in orbit around the planet for safety reasons. It is their every hope that she will be able to find a peaceful solution, versus the ultimate notion, of needing to defoliate infected areas.
This should be social, fun, and all Confederates and their Allies are welcome.

Event Locations

Space Station – This location is floating in orbit around Castagne. Qualified and cleared personnel would be permitted to visit to check on the research notes that [member="Karlie Lynn Destat"] has been compiling. They will have zero contact with the virus, and will not require quarantine before, or after—however certain safety protocols will still be required. [Sealed Enviro-Suits/Decontamination]

Shuttles will be provided to the space station and back to the planet if required. The thought process is to make every action as convenient as possible.

Beach Front – Just what it sounds like. The advertisements are very intriguing all over Castantine that read with silly limericks to get the attention of their guests. “The coladas are frozen, the theme is set, and we’re having a luau you’ll never forget!” Some of even worse, increasingly made more intriguing by the fact that Castan people with very stiff upper lips have come up with them. “Off to the ocean, we will go, bring the bikini, and leave the beau!”

There are places Oceanside to catch some rays, soft towels, and sunscreen for those who burn easily. There are little tiki-huts with fully stocked bars and munchies galore. There will also be a grilling contest, where anyone can enter, to see who can make the best bantha steak and spicy nuna wings. From water fights to copious amounts of wine being passed around, to body painting the beach front is sure to be a hit.

Streets of Castantine – Food and wine vendors, as previously mentioned, will be everywhere. Every marketplace will have their best wares for sale and every restaurant will try and represent themselves fully by having pop-up locations on every corner. Advice would be to eat, and drink lightly so that you don’t fill up in one place. You’ll never make it from the star port hotels to the beach if you binge too early! [However, feel free to get knackered, as Castagne has also set up medical tents for those who over indulge. Can’t have anyone dying on a diplomatic visit! Especially, not from alcohol poisoning.]

Droid SpaCastagne has taken into account that the CIS has a metric feth-ton of droids. With this in mind, they have created a maintenance spot for any automatons that join in the celebration. The pop-up spa will offer an automated oil bath and a de-carbonizing buffing. They can also receive recharging, repolishing, repairs and refits. Any droid that stops by will be good as new once they leave.

[FEEL FREE TO ARRIVE ANYWHERE YOU LIKE AND PLEASE DON’T HESITATE TO BYOO]

Walking onto the sand of the beach with a glass of fine wine in hand the cybernetic Mandalorian's lenses peered out and made an lovely image for him to see. Golden sand stretched out on either side of him, and in front looked to be an endless ocean. Looking out at the horizon were the blue ocean and the blue sky met was truly a sight to see.

Holding up his glass of wine there was a straw in it for him better enjoy the beverage without making a mess of things and possibly staining his clothes. Opening his mouth port he sipped on the cool white wine. Clearly he was someone that already spent some time in the streets at the festival. It was a happy day for the locals. Being a great holiday for the weekend alcoholics since drinks were a little hard to come by on the planet. Lowering the glass the port to the mouth closed back up and Roy walked a little further into the sand.

Taking a deep inhale the Mandalorian let himself relax. He was glad he didn't pass up the opertunity to have some fun on this event. He wondered of others from his clan would be able to make it like himself. Roy would like to see some familiar faces since Clan Americus was finally a little more recognized under the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

"Oh no don't mind if I do, don't mind if I do..." Mishel took the offered sample of food and beverage. It was great, free food, free booze and no master starfart to give her a hassle over any of it. Mostly the booze, and as much as she loved the old man [member="Coren Starchaser"] she much preferred the booze and food. After eating what had to have been deep fried food number two hundred and forty-one the young woman stood in the middle of the street and chugged what had been called Castagne Pale Ale in one go. "That was a little gross, what is it with everyone and their IPAs this year? Blessed Ashira," Mishel recycled the can properly and continued her way down the main avenue. Apparently Castagne had decided to become apart of the great purple nation that was the CIS, and this festival was all part of that somehow. Almost reminded her of that pub crawl where she got lost in a trash chute and ended up on some mining world and kissed her Master at the time Samka Derith.

After helping to bust Coren out of Sith Jail, Mishel ventured back to Confederate space to do two things. One to oversee the construction of the ship Princess Leia and two, to figure out who or what the Force kept calling her to every time she was here. It kept bothering her and well, as mentioned, the free food and booze was certainly a helpful sort of thing. "What's this? Oh... Cider? What kind? Oh, alright can I - yeah let me get a sample."

"Oh thats nice, is that from here - oh yeah, yeah I'll take a bottle thanks."

Again was not going to pass on free food and booze, and since Mishel basically lived off of nothing this was even better.

While riding in the back of a speeder taxi…

So life was a little crazy. So trying to take breaks where she could, Alyisa took them. Heck she was still trying to fit in with the Silvers. Alyisa was wild and impulsive. Jedi tend to be conservative and patient. Not to mention there was at least one person Alyisa did not like among the Silvers. She was actually surprised he was not charged with multiple accounts of murder.

Then there was her relationship with her commanding officer.

Ok maybe Alyisa was just looking for an excuse to go find a drink and maybe do a little sun bathing…

The Alliance was in shambles, and that was not the worst of it. Working within SIS had done a lot of good, but the thing that was terrifying is that even Alliance Intelligence was struggling. It was a good thing for her, she supposed. Meant she was going to be moving around from system to system, and right now she was given a few more supplies and dropped out in Confederacy space. She was not here to spy on the Confederacy, but was part of the new brass’s move to work with the governments that had assisted the Alliance.

They weren’t gone, just regrouping. The galaxy needed the Alliance, and Peyton fully believed that.

Because of a bit of fancy retcon, she had gotten a few new skills, but today she was hoping to not need them. Still, a pistol on her hip, and her two stun batons under her jacket, the grey-paladin acolyte was on the streets. Food and drink were about, that was nice.

Skinny jeans, tall boots, and her jacket over the tanktop, the blonde operative was just sightseeing for the day, until anything happened, really. Looking for Alliance nationals, and making sure that the soldiers knew the Alliance was not dead yet.

So the speeder stopped along the water front.

“We’re here ma’am”, the driver mentioned.

Alyisa just swiped a credit card through the computer located in the back of the taxi. After paying she stepped out and took a look around.

Sala'dine had well a chance to at least try and redem herself... after that first time drinking well things hadn't gone well and then there was zeltros that ended in something.... ah yeah. She kind of blacked it out after her brain said giving the drinking Alyisa the keys to the speeder to get the team out of there. She had went through the club spreading the people with 'I'm flying out of the way frakkers.' Sala'dine though moved out of the one speeder when Alyisa's stopped while she well... she wanted to do this right but she didn't want to crowd Alyisa so arrive in their own speeders. Her wearing a nice dress and having a chance to meet Alyisa at the bar to strike up a conversation.

Yuroic decided to join CIS on their trip to Castagne, it was said to be a beautiful planet with stunning views. He always wanted to take a break from his busy life of hiding his addiction from the Jedi, it was hard the more dependent he became. Instead, he was hoping the festive vibe of today would conceal his high on spice. He had taken it on his ship before getting dressed appropriately for the beach. He had thought initially a mankini for the beach, show off all the muscles of his body. Leave little to the female imagination. However, he soon realised children were likely about and he would never wish to scar them with that view of his body.

Instead he donned some shorts but was topless so that his upper body could soak in the decent sunshine. Yuroic wandered the beach and looked around to see if there was anyone he recognised. Pausing, he took a sip of a mojito, it was an unusual drink he had been offered from one of the many tiki bars. A pleasant enough drink though. The waves looked tempting for a swim, clear blue and very warm as well. Yuroic sighed, now this was a life he could live. Bliss was not just from his take of spice but the day in general.

Looking about the beach looked pretty popular today. There was not just the ocean and sun bathing. There were tiki-huts lined up and down the beach. There were also the store fronts along the main street that ran down the length of the beach.

There were so many people here and so much you could do, you could easily get lost within the crowd. It could make it hard to find anyone here, if you were looking.

Alysa randomness first brought her to a tiki-hut near her position. She slipped on through that open bar and got this drink. Then she started to move on down the beach to find something to entertain herself with, while sipping on her drink.

The small drinks she was able to get was interesting... smooth and kind of sweet butter compared to sharp like other drinks she normally got. The coloring was also bright instead of dark with a small umbrella sticking out of it and it was served in a large hard shelled fruit for flavor. THe admiral was walking and she could see Alyisa but there was also other peope around here she wouldn't mind being able to meet. A grin on her face as the dress at least looked nice on the beach itself. "Oh this is fun." She said it and had a wider smile.. this was a lot more simple and they weren't going to have to solve some big mystery.

It was not exactly a well known thing but Kiso was more or less a heavy drinker, being brought up in the mercenary world where things where tough almost all the time relying on alcohol often became a small crutch. Though over the years it more developed into a habit, the taste and feel for the drink becoming something that Kiso partook in regularly without much side effects or reason. With the general LOA still in effect there was even more intensive to drink, socially or just alone. As such the cyrborg had been more or less serching around for a place with some good booze, the Atrisian making her way to the beach front. It was lively, loud and probably the best place to get in on the drinking action. Usually the place where you can find some smashing cocktails and home made liqueur.

Walking a little closer to the ocean the cyborg drank from straw a little more. The dusty place he was from he didn't get to appreciate large amounts of water as much as he'd like. There was a certain nature to them that he liked. Perhaps it was there constant harmonized showing of flow and force with their waves and currents.

Looking away from the vast body of water, his lenses picked up on some certain people on the beach. What looked like a man trying to show off his beach body. Two other girls, one blond and the other brunette seeming to be enjoying their drinks. Lastly there was what looked like a young girl. But something about her seemed familiar to him. Then he say her eye patch, perhaps she was a cyborg like him.

Soon her audio receptors picked up the sound of two semi familiar people, the pitch and frequency matching to [member="Sala'dine"] and [member="Alyisa Mithel"] if Kiso's data banks where anything to go by. The two women seemed to be at the bar collecting drinks, the blonde seeming to take the lea while the other more or less tagged along behind, like a friend that is often dragged around by the most lively one, but that was not all. A few meters away was someone else that caught Kiso's attention, well more like her scanners came up with some interesting results. Heavy biological and cybernetic implants. Not as intense and a cyborg she met that had almost his entire lower body and right arm missing, but definitely more machine then man. It had actually been a long time since Kiso had interacted with a cyborg, these day many injuries being treatable to almost near perfect condition, only sever wound and loss of limbs really got the whole cybernetic treatment thing.

The man was on his knees, his breathing ragged, his face swollen and bloody. "I'm not talking. Not to you. Not to no one."
The two black uniformed agents looked at each other, then one pulled from their holster a blaster pistol, then pressed the barrel against the man's forehead. "We'll ask one more time." The agent pushed the barrel harder against the man's skull. "Where is the NOC list."

"I already told you. I'm not saying anything." He pushed back against the barrel of the pistol. "And unlike you. I'm ready to die."
The agent brandishing the blaster began to squeeze the trigger.

"I think we both know that some things are worse death." The black robed figure simply emerged from the shadows, even during the height of day it was easy for the Sith Lord to conceal himself in this darkened alley. At his sudden entrance, the agent holding the blaster at the kneeling man took a step back and lowered his weapon. "My men here can sometimes be nothing more than blunt instruments." As he spoke the black robed figure slowly walked up to the kneeling man. "But I can look deep into your mind, and summon from its darkest corners your worst fears, as well as take what I want." The robed figure knelt down next to the man, and placed a pale hand on his forehead.

"Please- I..." The man eye's rolled up into his skull as he struggled to talked. His body thrashed and spasmed almost uncontrollably. The grip of the black robed figure only tightened holding the man's head in place. After few more moments of what seemed like violent seizure he went stiff as a bone, foaming at the mouth. The black figure released the man, now brain dead or something close to it, then gazed towards his agents.

"Find someplace remote enough to dump him, but someplace that he will eventually be found." The robed figure ordered the agents.
"Lord Zurvan, what should we do about the list?" One agent asked.
"I will instruct you on when and where to go via comms, go back to the ship and wait till I give the signal." Darth Zurvan said turning away from the agents, his black robe concealing the features of face. "I'm needed elsewhere at the moment." The timeline of events was unfolding very quickly.

Objective: Find something more sensible than the outfit sister made her wear, or drink till she cares less
Outfit: White crop top and shorts

Kat was not happy, not happy at all. Her sister decided to steal all her clothes for this vacation away. Instead making her wear shorts and a crop top, made worst by the fact she couldn't even have a go at her sister for doing so as the husband insist Kat's sister was doing this due to pregnancy hormones. Kat knew it wasn't hormones, the woman had been eyeing to change her clothes ever since Kat had been fourteen. This just gave her the perfect excuse to not get the beating from Kat that she would have normally. One thing her sister didn't take was Kat's cap, though nothing would have stopped Kat hurting her sister if that went missing. Donning that in protest with the rest of this "fashionable" attire, she strolled through the streets of Castagne.

The planet was quite warm and with the festival in full swing, Kat could help but feel uplifted. She did notice a few prying eyes, but attempted to ignore them. Instead, she wandered over to a nearby stall and took a sample of wine, drinking it fast and heavily, she looked at the vendor. "Another, but with more please." She gave a quick flash of a smile before taking the glass and downing the second glass of wine. If she was going to be forced to wear a ridiculous outfit then she was going to do so a little intoxicated so she didn't feel so stared at.

Location: Castagne [Capital City Castantine] - Droid Spa

Nearly identical creatures walked through the crowded streets of Castagne and looked this way and that with a certain level of awe. Everything was so shiny. It all seemed new. Hand in hand, or, paw in paw, they made their way through the streets of Castantine and enjoyed soaking in new data for their memory banks. New colors, new sights, new organic overlords, and new sounds. It was all quite wonderful. “Nine-One…Why do you think they deep fry butter sticks?”

The rabbit-droid with masculine programmed droid reached up with his free appendage and rubbed the underside of his head. Right, where his chin would have been, if, they had been created anatomically correctly. "I cannot say, Ninety. There really is no dignified way to eat it.”

They watched as festival-goers had their fill, wishing for a moment, that they could find the same enjoyment in a daredevil food that often slung grease at innocent passerby’s when eaten. It was a punishing and unforgiving treat it seemed. It was evocative. Excessive, and from a health standpoint, a colossal mistake.

“It just looks like a globby mess.”

Leo laughed at the female droid that walked at his side. She had no expression, but, he could feel her disdain and humor through their data-stream. It was a very human fascination that neither droid really had the capacity to understand. That being said, however, something extremely intriguing caught his singular crimson photoreceptor. There was a sign at a building that looked a little out of place. As if it had been recently made for the Food and Wine festival that the Mistress had allowed them to attend.

“What is a Droid Spa?”

Both bunny-automatons looked at each other before shrugging little shoulders carefully. Neither one knew. Curious as newborn kittens they wandered inside the brightly lit establishment. There was nothing but droids inside, no lifeforms to speak of, but it looked well decorated and cleanly. The floors looked as if they had been recently buffed to resemble shiny polished marble. “Don’t slip.”, Leo warned his occasionally klutzy companion.

Bella walked a little more carefully than Leo and nodded her head. “I will try not to but—“

“Welcome to Droid Spa!”

The little blue-hued creation stared back at the attendant droid behind the desk that had cut her off suddenly. Neither of them knew what to say, and in turn, stared blankly. What were they supposed to say?

“Oh—Don’t worry. There’s no need to make an appointment. You must be from the Confederacy. Come right this way.”

Bella’s head turned as she watched the pearlescent attendant droid guide them toward the first door on the left. She seemed nice enough. Hesitantly, she turned to look at her red-hued other half, and he seemed to be just as perplexed. What a mystery! Both of the rabbit-droids dashed forward at the same time to follow their soft-spoken host. Bella almost slid into the door but was saved by Leo in the last second. As usual.

“Here you can enjoy an oil bath. We have a wide array of services at your disposal.”

Leo looked at the oddly colored fluid a little skeptically. It looked safe enough. What he didn’t count on was a mischievous streak to appear in Bella and the droid was a little too late to notice her treachery in their shared data stream. Without further ado, BNI-9000, very unceremoniously pushed him in. He landed with a splash and came up sputtering through his speaker. Actually, it was kind of nice.

Bella was in stitches, laughing so hard that she wasn’t paying attention, and as if his algorithms were infected by her glee he couldn’t help himself. Her bad habits were rubbing off on the both of them.

Leo reached up and returned the favor, yanking the blue-hued droid in, by the foot. She landed with a satisfying plop and his red photoreceptor shone brightly when she immediately began to complain. Victory.

The Sith Apprentice found herself feeling, for the moment, at peace. It was a strange notion considering that she had not yet had the opportunity to indulge in the vacation that her Master had requested they take. There was too much to do, and as always, not enough time to do it in. This almost felt like a holiday. Of course, they had taken a pit stop to the space station, to check on the progress that [member="Karlie Lynn Destat"] had made but it wasn’t a necessarily long detour. Srina was many things, however, a scientist she was not. Most of what Karlie had discussed would have been better addressed to the Minister of Science. Still, she paid attention, took notes, and had her murder moppets record the proceedings to relay to the rest of the Viceroyalty.

Some of them still may choose to converse with the research team in orbit before the festival ended but just in case she would rather be prepared. There was something peculiar about Castagne. It was a free world, and yet, there was something painstakingly familiar about it. Something that she just couldn’t quite put her finger on. The people smiled, seemed friendly enough, but there was a certain level of backbone that she had seen before. It was not arrogance but it toed the line of egotism and altruism very carefully.

It was a very interesting, very lovely world, to say the least.

Srina had been doing her best to put what had happened on Enos behind her. Some might think she was referring to the rampant A.I. that had enslaved all of humanity on the mining world. She wasn’t. Instead, the slender Echani was concerned by the fact that yet another member of her family planned to visit. [member="Nysana Talon"], her beautiful, perfect sister had accidentally let some things slip to their mother that would soon see the woman on the opposite side of space. Her mother was coming.

The pale woman did not know when, or how, since she had not returned any communications but she knew that Aeris Talon would soon be here. The thought chilled her, almost, as much as the memory of her icy stare.

It wasn’t as if Srina didn’t love her mother. She did. She longed to be her. Srina simply didn’t want to see the disappointment in her eyes. The sorrow. It would be hard for anyone to truly notice it, to recognize emotion, feelings, beneath her stern exterior but the well-educated Echani knew it on only too well. They wore the same masks.

[member="Cyprine Talon"] and [member="Var Talon"] would be just as mystified to see their mother. Especially, without their father. It was unheard of. Unsettling. What did Aeris have to say that she could not say over a holo? What was it that demanded a personal visit?

Currently, Srina was waiting for [member="Darth Metus"] to return, and had busied herself with the various activities along the waterfront. She wore white, a typical habit, but with far less than some would be used to seeing. It was more reminiscent of her styling from Eshan if she were being honest. Light and airy she wore a lace wrap over an ivory swimsuit top and a shimmersilk skirt to hide the diminutive matching bottoms. Her hair was pulled up, holding a slight wave from the salty air, with a pale rose pinned in silver-white stresses behind her ear.

There was a long line of people waiting for something, and ever curious, she leaned to see what they were doing. Painting each other? Srina hadn’t spent much time on any sort of fine art since Larinkáoi but she had rather enjoyed painting. In ran in their blood, as her mother would say, since she had taken up the hobby after stepping away from the battlefield. Seeing no harm in offering assistance, since the crowd was starting to grumble, she silently stepped ahead to speak with a very frazzled girl with paint smeared just about everywhere. Readily, she accepted the assistance.

Apparently, her relief had not arrived.

Soon enough Srina found herself with an array of colors to work with, and a large group of people, that wanted to be decorated for the festivities. It really seemed like all of Castange had poured out of the woodwork to attend. Though they claimed it annual, it made her wonder, if it was the only gathering the planet had all year.

When her Master did come looking for her he would find her drawing Loth-Cat whiskers on a little girl with a white, triangular patch on her nose, and white circles around her eyes. Strangely, Srina found it therapeutic, and according to her new frazzled artist friend, was quite accurate. All the youngling needed now was a pair of ears and a tail and she’d blend right in with the best of the temperamental Outer Rim felines.

Sala'dine

Admiral of the Ghost Fleet
[member="Yuroic Xeraic"] [member="Alyisa Mithel"] [member="Kiso"]

Sala'dine felt something, a brush at the back fo her mind... a feel like she was being watched as she turned and saw briefly for a moment a woman. Not exactly noteworthy but her eye or lack of was familiar and she was trying to place it.... then she was distracted by the sounds and there was a sign for body painting near [member="Srina Talon"]'s booth but she didn't go over to it when she turned around to look outwards. Remembering that was the admiral that had well surrendered and used the safe passage to leave the Ancient Eye's navy behind. Sala'dine should meet her in person as ship to ship was so impersonal most of the time. You really rarely got a chance to see someone from an opposing side.

What does a Mandalorian do after she's gone drinking with... the most unique Mandalorian Clan she's ever met?

That Mandalorian (who is, we might add: on holiday) goes to the biggest party she can find in the CIS. It was a bad idea, and she knew it. The odds of her running into one person she really didn't want to meet right now were unacceptably high and she wasn't ready for that confrontation.

But the call of a clean, undamaged planet with honest to Manda actual beaches, clean air, no recycled radioactive fallout and a surprising lack of megafauna (that was, she thought, a bit dull - the odd giant blue-green wrath eel would have livened up the beach no end) was just a little too much. She could go back to duty, to endless threats and to the haunting call of her true calling later.

She only wished she'd come dressed for the occasion. Some of her people took 'wearing the armour' to an extreme she didn't quite understand. Still, she could at least take her helmet off - and she had credits, there had to be somewhere to buy clothes in the capital city of a planet.

But first, that booth over there with the cider was calling her.

Karlie Lynn Destat

Conspiracy Theorist and Investigator (IBI)
Location: Family mini beach front estate
Objection: Fun in the sun...right?
Interacting: Hopefully with somebody
Post: 1

"Uh-huh... and the ante-room pressure is remaining within normal parameters?.." Karlie was checking up on the bio-weapon's research facility up in high orbit.
This was after all too gorgeous a day to be bottled up in a tin can looking down on beautiful castagne...or more of the coastlines. Castagne had many numerous coastlines in it's warmer belts, along with thousands of isles..mostly all paradise islands. And one in particular had one of her family mini beach front estates that had begged her to come down off that bottled up tin can of a station and soak up the filtered rays of the sun.

The bio research lab which was one of several that Castagne..or rather the IBI (Internal Bureau of Investigation) had that not only used to develop bio/chem weapons but also to de-engineer natural and or -weapon based viruses. One such virus which had been strenuously acquired from Melida, was the pathogen that in all sense of description was a zombie like virus.
And the difficulty in acquiring it wasn't so much as finding it as it was getting it past CIS protocol that seeked to raze everything that had come into contamination, including the local populace of the infected cities and sites.

Ok, so Karlie had for the most part lost her entire research and escort team down there for the very same reason, a peculiar Viceroy Metus had called for euthanasia of the infected...
Long story short...besides her and a sole marine, the only other person (if one were to still label an animated corpse) Janis had unwittingly become infected during an eventful and tragic explosion of shuttle and crew upon first landing on Melida.
Karlie somehow and it were not easy, convinced this Viceroy [member="Darth Metus"] to take her co-research scientist turned zombie off Melida and back to Castagne. But managed Karlie did in securing her infected zombie Janis off Malida and into one of the IBI research stations. And it is without say that for weeks now aside from determining that it was indeed an engineered virus that had been unleashed on Melida, that they were close in developing a retro-virus for it. But hose weeks were pretty much gruesome, being cooped up up there encircling her blue marbled palnet. She had needed some fresh sea air and a good portion of it.

Two days into her break, she was regaining her lost tan. And of course still being in direct contact with the station circling...somewhere up above.
" Ok..well, keep me in formed if there is another pressure drop in the ante-room, Frey. " She replied to her intern who was currently in charge of the facility while Karlie was tanning planet side on her upper patio.

UzcGmzd.jpg

"I've got another call coming through....shoot, it's from the Cabinetry. Got to go...don't frak anything up there..hear?" Karlie quickly disconnected from Frey and opened up the channel to the incoming call from Castagne's High Cabinetry...surprisingly, her father.
Whew..and for a moment there, she thought she may have done something which the Cabinetry was upset over...again.

"Hey dad...how's the weather there in Constantine?..." she jokingly chuckled, knowing quite well it was likely just as gorgeous as their private mini beach estate. Only that she was out here tanning and he was stuck inside the Cabinetry whitening. Her father rarely got a chance to enjoy Castagne's sunshine like he used to when she was younger. But he was High Cabinet Head and since their indoctrination into the CIS, he was hardly ever out of meetings and plannings in general.

But her father wasn't making a social call, no. He asked as to why she had been missing for the past two days and nowhere yet involved with the hosting of their first invite of CIS members to their system.

"Uhm...yea, I know the event has already started...but what's it got to do with me?..??" She asked. Like, wasn't she on leave?..vacation?
Karlie after all had gotten the OK for her leave by the Council itself. It had even been signed off by her father no less...right?
Shoot... maybe she should have played out the entire hologram...

But no, she did not.

Karlie had been so ecstatic of finally receiving the OK to come back down planet side for what the hologram seemed to hint at 'Fun in the Sun', that she just simply took it for that, closed off the channel, didn't even pack and bolted..or rather, podded down planet side as fast as she could. Yes, she didn't even wait for a transport, opting to use one of the station's escape pods to re-enter Castagne's atmosphere. Like, there was only one planet below the station...so...

But as the hologram read...or as it played out if she would have allowed it to... it was for her to assist with the Cabinetry the event that the system was hosting to the CIS. Karlie, being the one whom had adamantly insisted on working on the virus from Melida was to present her findings to the CIS as far as what she had currently discovered concerning the pathogen that devastated Melida/Dann. And since her planet side escapade with the pod, hadn't reported herself in, never mind the research data. So what was her story, her father asked.

"Uhm...being self centered...?" She replied.
She were correct and what else?

"Being irresponsible again?..."

Correct again... he then asked what else?

"Getting my butt off the patio and heading to the Cabinet Hall?"

Half right. She was to get up off her ass and head on over to the event...and play hostess. PROPER hostess.
And if members of the CIS wanted to see about her research efforts on the pathogen she was working to de-engineer, then so be it. They needed to find answers to the source of the virus that had been deployed on Malida.

"Yes, I know that..but until we fully unravel-" She was explaining before he cut her off.
Tarssin (her father) then reminded her that one of the Viceroy's very son had been subject to the pathogen down on Melida while trying to help the system.

"Ok...so we all lost a lot of people there..." She didn't quite understand what was the big deal..one person. Like, she lost over 40 team members down there and that was in the first 10 minutes.

Tarssin who most likely was nearing a stroke level talking to his daughter went and pointed out that that Viceroy's son was Vicelord [member="Darth Metus"]' son...key figure head if one were to put it bluntly of the CIS!

"Gasp...no way!.." Karlie couldn't believe it. She had met Metus just before the final countdown to euthanizing the City. But he had only told her in quite some powerful tone to get off the system...and that was just before he gave her authorization for her to bring her zombie ex-science researcher Janis with her. Before that, everyone had been on the bandwagon to put a good sized blaster bolt through her ex-scientist head..who unfortunately was a zombie.

So it was 'Yes way'..the son of the Vicelord had lost his life on account of the virus. And so far, Karlie had without a shadow of a doubt, broke it down enough to evidently show that it was engineered. It had been weaponized. Her research was very close in developing a retrovirus, besides a vaccine. So what the hell was she tanning her white ass on the patio, while she should be among the Castan personell hosting this event?!!

"I though..." No, it didn't matter what she had thought. She should have let the entire hologram play out. She had no excuse. And Tarssin didn't have to elaborate on it...she knew well enough.
"Ok, gotcha." Her word on getting his meaning without further ado.

"Yes dad, getting dressed right now and going to the event." She said, getting up off her towel as her dad closed the channel.

Well, so much for her personal take on fun in the sun... Karlie sucked it up and got herself under a shower head to ready herself in playing proper hostess...
