Startled by the sudden lunge of the creature, Braze instinctively took a step back, putting some distance between himself and the source of the attack. He watched with amazement as Jasper effortlessly dealt with the menacing creature, leaving behind a messy puddle of ash and goo. Braze released a held breath, feeling a mix of relief and fascination.

"Wow, Jasper, you handled that like a pro," Braze praised, his earlier questions and comments momentarily forgotten. He couldn't help but compare the hunt for critters to a game, "So like playing 'wack a womp rat' ?"

Using the Force, Braze drew his training saber to his hand with a magnetic-like pull, readying himself just in case. The saber, more advanced than the typical youngling's, had a unique "child lock" system, keeping it powered down whilst in his possession. Braze did not motion to try to take it off so it was a safe bet that he didn't know how. With a playful flourish, he ignited the saber, showcasing his own readiness for hunting down icky sith spawn critters.

"So like playing 'wack a womp rat' ?"

"If the womp rat could destroy an ecosystem," Jasper noted.

It wasn't long before they had found the source. It appeared to be a larger sithspawn, from which the smaller one had emerged. The creature was dead, reduced to a fleshy-sludgy mound. Jasper frowned, assessing the creature. It was taken care of at least, but it was clear that had it reached it's intended destination far more sithspawn would have been unleashed on the village. There was more at play here.

"Well, it's dead at least," he sighed. "Looks like I'm in for a lot more work."

<Containment unit is in, boss.>

Iota's voice was a relief at least. Transport vessels landed, and before long Jedi volunteers form the Shield Core began to spill out and scour the area.

"Well, thanks for coming out here with me," Jasper shrugged. "Hopefully you learned something. If not, don't worry. You'll have plenty of opportunity to pick something up when we meet again next week. I'd very much like to begin assessing what you already know so I know what you need to learn still."

A grin spread across his face. It would become very clear what Jasper was implying, and importantly he wasn't giving Braze a choice. They were in this together now, for better or worse. The Sentinel of Harmony would teach him everything he knew.

"Right then," he yawned. "Let's get on back to the Temple."

Braze accompanied Jasper and kept a vigilant lookout and a guarded stance ready to engage any threats that they might come across. He squinted at the evidence they came across and listened to Jasper's words. He frowned thinking things over for a time. This seemed like a lot of work indeed if there were more and they just skulked about like this.
"Well, thanks for coming out here with me," Jasper shrugged. "Hopefully you learned something. If not, don't worry. You'll have plenty of opportunity to pick something up when we meet again next week. I'd very much like to begin assessing what you already know so I know what you need to learn still."

"You're welcome, it was fun watching you work and-"
Jasper's words lingered in the air, but Braze's mind struggled to grasp their full meaning. He wasn't always quick to process everything said to him, and this was no exception. Next week? Assessing? The puzzle pieces of understanding seemed just out of reach.

As the pieces slowly fell into place, Braze's confusion grew. Assessing? Wasn't that something teachers did with their students? But why would Jasper want to assess him? A myriad of thoughts swirled in his mind, and he found it hard to keep up with his own thoughts.

His curiosity and uncertainty melded into a cloud of surreal possibilities. Could Jasper really mean what Braze was starting to think? He dismissed the idea as too far-fetched and convinced himself that he must be a misunderstanding. He didn't think himself worthy of Jonyna Si Jonyna Si 's attention, he couldn't possibly think that the idea that Jasper would set his attention on him was anything more than a grandiose and delusional dream. Yet, a small glimmer of hope sparked within him, making him consider the idea a little further.

"Next week? Assessing?"
Braze's voice came out soft and quiet, unsure of whether he was on the right track. "I'm sorry, I don't think I got the notification... Do we have another missive together that I am un aware of?" he asked, trying to clarify his confused thoughts as he moved to check a small electronic device.
