Braze accompanied Jasper and kept a vigilant lookout and a guarded stance ready to engage any threats that they might come across. He squinted at the evidence they came across and listened to Jasper's words. He frowned thinking things over for a time. This seemed like a lot of work indeed if there were more and they just skulked about like this.
"Well, thanks for coming out here with me," Jasper shrugged. "Hopefully you learned something. If not, don't worry. You'll have plenty of opportunity to pick something up when we meet again next week. I'd very much like to begin assessing what you already know so I know what you need to learn still."
"You're welcome, it was fun watching you work and-" Jasper's words lingered in the air, but Braze's mind struggled to grasp their full meaning. He wasn't always quick to process everything said to him, and this was no exception. Next week? Assessing? The puzzle pieces of understanding seemed just out of reach.
As the pieces slowly fell into place, Braze's confusion grew. Assessing? Wasn't that something teachers did with their students? But why would Jasper want to assess him? A myriad of thoughts swirled in his mind, and he found it hard to keep up with his own thoughts.
His curiosity and uncertainty melded into a cloud of surreal possibilities. Could Jasper really mean what Braze was starting to think? He dismissed the idea as too far-fetched and convinced himself that he must be a misunderstanding. He didn't think himself worthy of

's attention, he couldn't possibly think that the idea that Jasper would set his attention on him was anything more than a grandiose and delusional dream. Yet, a small glimmer of hope sparked within him, making him consider the idea a little further.
"Next week? Assessing?" Braze's voice came out soft and quiet, unsure of whether he was on the right track.
"I'm sorry, I don't think I got the notification... Do we have another missive together that I am un aware of?" he asked, trying to clarify his confused thoughts as he moved to check a small electronic device.
