Being Taken a-back

"No, normalcy is a state of appearance. It is something to learn, or be taught. If you wish it to be." He smiled as he stopped walking, his StealthX just a few yards away, "You are not dumb. You are out about, living the life of a free woman, while those that insulted you are all still in chains. Or eating rodents because they can." Touching her face with a feather soft caress that lasted for a fleeting second, he smiled, "You could be so much more.. You will be so much more one day. Just let it come at its own time."

Gesturing to his ship, Valashu added, "On the back is a droid that will pilot the ship where ever you ask. Literally, anywhere. Just don't destroy it." Nodding his head as a goodbye, he turned on his heel and walked back the way they came from.

She turned to thank him--and he--was gone. Her lips parted but, no words could come out. Her throat was locked up, tight, and clenched from nervousness. She wished she didn't have that, it made her so frustrated.

She closed her mouth and sighed through her nose. She wanted to thank him, good men deserved thanking, it made her feel--well she didn't know what to call it when she saw a good person not get the thanks they deserved. There weren't many in this galaxy, and she felt they deserved credit for it, rewards. Good things.

"Thank you," she said at last, even though she wasn't sure if he would hear it. She hoped they would meet again. The Masked Man would like him. Scarlet would too. Hopefully they would get to meet him too.

With unsteady hands she climbed the latter to the Stealth X and seated herself at the controls. She looked across the pannels and buttons and felt her head spin. She had no clue where to begin and was afraid to touch something for fear it would break. Then a screen on the dashboard lit up with words, making her jump.

<<Where do you want to go?>>

She looked around for a datpad to type on or something. No, there was nothing.

"Corousant, c-c--ca--caan you t-t-ak-ke me to C-c-ourusant?" she asked.

There was a pause. The hatch closed over her and the ship soon was streaking across the atmosphere into space. Mystique sat back and swallowed. She needed some time to think. A lot of time to think. Today had been very weird.
