Martika looked down at his datapad, his finger hovering over the "Yea" icon on the screen. He pressed down against it with a fingertip, causing the device to emit a quiet "Gwrrk." Nothing happened. Martika pressed the icon again, and again, causing the device to burp out a series of "Gwrrk-gwrrk-gwrrk's."
Martika sighed and prepared a transmission for the Senate leadership. ::Senator Martika Varta's voter device has failed and will not register a vote. I would like to submit a hardcopy vote of "Yea" for Senate Bill Ark-13579.:: Martika set the datatablet down and glanced outside, waiting to hear back in regards to his problem and ensure his vote was registered.

Darions thin fingers clasped the arm rests in his pod as he listened to the debate. Silently he shivered at the thought.
To have force users be seated in the senate felt very dangerous and Darion suspected that recent events must have been a ploy by the jedi, or the sith. Neither seemed to be trustable by now.

He rose from his seat to adress the senate and cast his vote.

"Pengalan IV is against to have force sensitive.... persons... to enter these chambers. But we would approve the usage of the force negating beasts. They are not enough a security in our mind though." he coughed and continued with a more raspy voice.

"Pengalan therefore votes Nay to the bill."

OOC: This has been open for two weeks now and has garnered only one Nay vote. I recommend we consider it passed and retire to the local bar for celebratory drinks all 'round.

Also, we need to create the official bar of the Republic Senate. What planet are we on again? My head hurts.

The Bill, having been sent to the Office of Chancellor [member="jack sparrow"] for signing into law, was done with the Senate for now. Assuming the Chancellor signed it, they would start getting openly force sensitive Senators, and thus, preparations needed to be made.

For the time being, Khyros wanted to keep the Republic away from Spaarti. The name of that company was too closely linked to former Chancellor Lasedri and those dark, final days. The route through the Mandalorians was likewise an unwise decision. Khyros was a diplomat, but he didn't know if the Mandalorians would willingly arm the Republic with such potent defenses this close to signing the peace treaty. That left Panacea, a company he had researched after Senator [member="faith balor-organa"] had posed the question about where they would procure the creatures and handlers. Panacea had some ties to the Senator from Kiribi, so Khyros decided to start there.

He stood from his office chair and buttoned his suit jacket. A single guard followed him as he made his way through the halls of the senate building to the office of Senator [member="suravi teigra"]. He offered a polite smile to the guard at the door, then knocked thrice.
