FAILURE TO REPAY!

The World of Stobar has made a grave error as corporate forces
underneath the terrible gungan admiral
"MOGATTO GNOGG" move in around them
The Milvayne Commercial Association has blockaded the planet to force a settlement!

The people of Stobar have sent an emergency broadcast past the blockade
in a desperate last attempt for aid against the corporate oppression of the Association.
However it may arrive too late for the people are suffering a terrible cost.

Will the heroes of the galaxy come to their aid in time.

Blockade of Stobar

testdiv.png

The Gungan Fleet Admiral gazed out of the window of the |:| Umberbool |:| as it settled over the world of Stobar along with the rest of the 1st Corporate Flotilla. The Upgraded Lucrehulk-Class Battleship was the current pride of the Association's Naval Capacity and would serve as a formidable opponent to any dreadnought or battleship. He had been sent here to blockade the world of Stobar for refusing to pay back a considerable loan given to them. His gaze went away from the emptiness of space towards the captain's chair as the crew went about their daily maintenance checks and scanning the system for new arrivals. His orders from High Command were as followed.

1. Blockade the Planet of Stobar to Force a Settlement regarding the loan.
2. Halt any attempt to break the blockade.

Both objectives were equally important as trade representatives were currently on the world negotiating with the various criminal elements in order to reach a settlement on the failed loan repayment. His current force numbered only 8 Warships with Three being of the Milvayne-Class Trade Warship Variant and Five being of the Milvayne-Class Heavy Cruiser Variant. He didn't expect the second objective to be easy as rebellious elements on the planet had broadcasted an emergency signal to anyone nearby to assist them. A Neimoidian Captain by the name of Talmo Dalone approached him on the bridge to hand him a datapad.

"Admiral Gnogg, We have scanned the system and have found no reinforcements at this time."
: Captain Talmo Dalone said.

Admiral Gnogg raised his head for just a brief moment; taking the datapad from Talmo Dalone. Information was clear upon it and that sensors had detected no life forms approaching the planet nor starships. However he wasn't about let this new development catch him off guard as sensors could be mislead with an assortment of modern technological innovations happening across the galaxy.

"Wesa three clicks north of the capital. Aresa we not?" : Admiral Gnogg replied in an off hand gesture. If need be they would move the blockade enough to cover any escape from the capital city and pressure the remaining criminal elements opposed to them into submission. However the repositioning of the fleet would take time.

"Yes; Admiral. We are three clicks north of the capital but our turbolasers are in range to reduce the landscape around it to slag." : Captain Talmo replied; readjusting his long hat upon his bug like head. He had just recently been recruited from Cato Neimoidia to serve as the Aide to the Admiral during the blockade. However he had no actual combat experience and was just guessing at this point.

"Have dasa |:| Juko |:| , |:| Turvo |:| and |:| Ekzo |:| enter intosa a loose formation around the flagship to enter battle formation. But dosa not moveda them away from a possible starfighter screen." : Gnogg replied; standing up from his chair and moving towards the window to gaze out at the fleet. His battle armor clanked against his form as his ornamental brown robe covered it; with two medals jiggling as they clunked against each other.

"As you command; Admiral." : Captain Talmo replied once again; taking the datapad from the admiral as he went past. Ordering the communication room to contact the crew on board those three vessels and have them move formation to cover the flagship but leave enough space to deploy their starfighters in a defensive screen.

Admiral Gnogg's yellow eyes scanned the vast emptiness of space as his ships broke from their original formation and formed up around his flagship while the rest of the heavy cruisers stayed put. He was ready to follow through with his orders without complaint. He was the proud ruler of a Gungan Settlement and the greatest admiral to ever exist in his eyes.

All that was left was to follow through.

  • The Flagship |:| Umberbool |:| has stayed in position
  • The Milvayne Class Trade Warships |:| Juko - Turvo - Ekzo |:| have moved positions around the Flagship to protect it and be able to deploy starfighters
  • The Milvayne Class Heavy Cruisers |:| Hunz - Gugo - Biermann - Gungan - Milvayne |:| have stayed in position in front of the flagship.
  • Starfighters have not been deployed.

Well, this was awkward. Xam frowned and tugged at one his ears in dismay. They were never going to get to the conference in time, and they were supposed to be speaking. It would be incredibly embarrassing and certainly awkward. That was definitely a blockade fleet. And it was certainly corpo of some sort, just like the ones they'd wrecked from the New Horizons Shipping Combine.

And they were blocking the fething hyperspace jump on the far side of the system. He groaned and massaged his forehead. There had to be a way around this. The ship couldn't break the blockade, nor could it run the blockade if that became necessary. Besides, they were a government flagged ship.

If they attacked, or vice versa, it would be a declaration of open war between the Rimward Trade League and these comet chasing corpos. Which, at this point, he was more than ready to throw down with whoever was in charge, but he was but a humble assistant project manager.

That sparked an idea. He clasped his hands together and paced back and forth. It could work, yes. He cleared his throat for a moment. "Please send a transmission to their flagship that assistant... director Xam Jubb of the Outer Rim Development Corps would like to have a conversation in the interest of ending this quickly, peacefully, and without violence."

There were a few eyebrows raised in his direction at the sudden promotion, but he just shrugged. "And... maybe get the League Council on the horn as well. See if we can get some legitimate leverage for this."

It was a true marvelous piece of engineering. The leather bound glove of his enchanted armor ran gently across the railing of his new flagship. Never once, has anyone considered the true awe inspiring might of a Torpedo Sphere in recent times. Decades old but still functional, it was a true bargain to even rip it out of a former captains hands and been in the process for well over a month. Now with a crew ready to depart, he felt as if the Galaxy had an honest chance to finally end their destructive conflict. One step at a time however, he would still need a functional army and starfighter crew...but the crews he gathered of freed slaves and imprisoned naval officers, that will do just fine for now. At that particular moment, a set of Rodian twins trailed in from the bridge wearing their respective uniforms. Nin and Tak have proven themselves quite...valuable in their endeavors.

"Master, we seem to have intercepted communication from a planetary system. Emergency broadcast, a blockade on Stobar."
"A blockade of a planet? Far from the Galactic Alliances reach, how...interesting."
"Should we plot a course?"
"Yes Apprentices. I shall begin our departure."

Glancing back towards the viewscreen as the two Rodians departed, the Human merely focused in front of him and closed his eyes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sensors on each one of the Milvayne vessels would light up like it was Life Day. Multiple sensor detection patterns seemed to be all over the place, triangulating a position would become almost a nightmarish prospect. To a trained navigators eye, this was not something a piece of technology could produce...it was as if it was a spacial phenomenon event. Then, near one of Stobars moons, it happened.

Space shifted from afar as a hyperspace wormhole seemed to rip into the very fabric of space itself. Exiting out from there was two very long Bright Eye Warships, things that resembled Vong Technology with its twisting coral with in the middle, a very large sphere that dwarfed them in size. The wormhole while massive in height, seem to slowly dissipate once the trio of Star Destroyers had exited out of the wormhole. While considerably far away from the blockade fleet, their starships started to slowly turn towards the group in question with a communications signal being put out in a broadcast on all frequencies. It was a simple transmission, short and to the point.

"This is Lord Cameron. State the nature of this blockade and desired resolution."

It would loop for a full minute, allowing them to find his message. While this occurred, the Bright Eyes strangely started to cycle their starship bodies into an odd alignment. They seemed rather...alive, as if a creature itself was inhabiting them. Regardless, the Lord seemed to await a message.

"Admiral Gnogg; we are receiving a transmissions from the Outer Rim Development Core." : Captain Talmo said after receiving word from the Communications Officer on board the Flagship.

"Very wellsa; put the transmissions through." : Gnogg replied; moving away from the window of the bridge towards the display screen on the opposite side. Watching as the screen swirled and swirled as the picture became clearer and clearer showing a sullust native. He announced himself as Assistant Director Xam Jubb of the fore mentioned Outer Rim Development Core. Wanting to know if there was a peaceful resolution to the situation at hand.

"Mesa Admiral Moggatto Gnogg of theda 1st Corporate Flotilla. Mesa make this very clearsa to yousa. Dasa planet owe usa big credits and theresa be no peace before it is payda." : Gnogg furthered added in his broken gungan speech; he had clear orders from his superiors within the Association that until the matter was resolved he was to stay here and enforce the blockade. He would make no compromise at this time.

Xam Jubb Xam Jubb

The scanners picked up a frequency entering into the system; alerting the 1st Corporate Flotilla that more had arrived due to the planet's emergency broadcast that had managed to break past the blockade. The navigators had a hard time triangulating an exact position which caused a concern to cross the Neimoidian Captain's face. Having heard of the terrible power of the vong which invaded the galaxy from beyond the galactic border. These were no ordinary vessels but one of organic creation. His bug-like eyes scanned out into space as wormholes seem to appear that ripped the very fabric of space itself.

"Have the |:| Juko |:|, |:| Turbo |:| and |:| Ekzo |:| open up their hangers and deploy their squadrons into a Starfighter Screen around the command ship. " : Captain Talmo said in an almost worrying tone. As his orders were relayed to those vessel's commanders and soon enough several square formations around composed of
Galactic Class Starfighter to form around the |:| Umberbool |:| in the event that this yet unknown enemy fleet pressed their attack to break the blockade.

"Admiral Gnogg we have another frequency transmissions from the new arrivals" : Captain Talmo further added once receiving the transmissions.

Gnogg turned away from the transmissions from the Outer Rim Development Core to the new transmissions on a seperate screen. The person on this line announced himself as a Lord Cameron and requested to know the reason for this blockade and the desired resolution. His 6'9" and 800 pound form appeared before the Sith Lord within his ornate but formal attire.

"Mesa Admiral Magotto Gnogg of dasa 1st Corporate Flotilla. Thisa blockadea is to collect a missed payment from thesa stobor governmenta. Wesa leave once the settlement is paidsa." : Admiral Gnogg replied to the mysterious Lord Cameron. Before gazing away at Captain Talmo sitting within the command chair while he was occupied. Those battleships would be tough to overcome not to mention a deadly missile sphere which was able to bombard them from long distant range or so he had heard. However he counted on their starfighter superiority to overcome the fleet should they turn hostile.

"A Gungan," Xam grumbled. "And he''s very clear on his point." He paced back and forth along the bridge of the ship, considering. "Any word from the Council?"

"Not yet," the reply came, and Xam nodded. He tapped his chin, assessing the messages coming through from the rest of the transmissions. After a moment, his eyes widened.

"Ask them if we can see the contract, or if they can provide the contractual details, especially regarding the payments plans, total amount, and so on."

If they wanted to get paid, well, what better than a Trade League?

Above Stobar
Stobar's government might have been miserly, but a few deep-pocketed philanthropists had saw fit to pay Arkyn a significant sum of credits to run a planetary blockade and deliver foodstuffs to the populace.
Running a blockade wasn't for the faint of heart or the ill prepared, especially not a blockade engineered by Mogatto Gnogg. You needed a fast ship, a hibridium or stygium powered cloaking device, a great deal of skill, and just for flair, a dash of luck.
Arkyn was the proud owner of all four, though to hear R5 tell it, she was beacon of misery and a terrible pilot, easily the worst in a hundred parsec radius.
"I crashed once you mangy bucket of bolts! And it wasn't even my fault!"
She ignored her grumbling droid's response, focusing on her feelings and instincts. Arkyn was no Jedi, but after her adventures on Cinnagar and the klusterkark on Ione, she was all but certain the gut instincts and intuitions that had seen her survive the harrowing Nar Shaddaa slums and dominate the swoop bike circuits of Malastare weren't just instincts, but the Force.
So she ignored the droid, took a deep breath, and focused.
Even the best cloaks couldn't hide a ship from everything. The cloaking device itself - the parts for which had cost her a significant chunk of her savings, enough for her to take a chance trying to outwit the Mogatto Gnogg- emitted its own magnetic signature that was faint, but still traceable. To ensure she wasn't detected, she had to travel extremely close to the blockade, hugging the bellies of the battleships, ship-hopping her way to the planet below.
This is where things get tricky.
The final leg of blockade running- entering the atmosphere- was by far the hardest. But she wasn't just some run-of-the-mill smuggler.
She was Arkyn kriffing Rane.

He clicked his tongue again as his eyeless gaze watched the sky. The spatial distortion caused by The Human was probably felt by every trained Force Sensitive in the sector. Time and Space had a fair bit of metaphysical mass, and when one moves an entire ship like that. It is hard for those attuned to such disturbances to not notice such arrivals.

Naturally, he was a bit annoyed at his current predicament. Grounded by the blockade, having arrived here for a pit-stop not too long before the whole mess started. From what gossip he had managed to gather through both mundane and supernatural means, it all boiled down to something about payments not being made.

Again, all this suffering for something as petty as money. One had to wonder what the amounts involved were to warrant such an extreme response. And also how foolish such an action was, because if the inhabitants of this world lacked the funds to pay the debt, how was blocking off their trade supposed to aid in any way whatsoever?

Pointless, stupid, cruel.

"Any luck getting into their comms?" He asked, craning his neck back to look into the cockpit of his ship where a BD unit was furiously working away at attempting to slice into the oppressors' communications. Receiving an affirmative beep in return.

"Good. Let me know if they start getting pushy." Hopefully things could be resolved before the situation escalated to violence. One could have some measure of faith in the diplomatic process. But, if the businessmen above decided to put on more pressure, to try and harm the innocent. Then Aaran would engage in some negotiations of his own.

Aggressive ones.

Driver was still trying to refamiliarize himself with the layout of the galaxy. Lots had changed since he woke, given that eight hundred years or so had past since the CIS put him on ice. Not to mention the weird way that time was kept track of these days. He would have to learn more about this Battle of Yavin at some point. He was in the cockpit of his Starlight-class light freighter, the Half-Blade, when a distress signal came in. It was from the nearby planet of Stobar, a request for aid. Apparently, a blockade was pressuring the planet into making a settlement of some kind.

"That's familiar," Driver remarked. "Eight hundred years, same Galaxy."

The clone wasted no time redirecting his vessel in the direction of the planet. Galactic Alliance presence wasn't felt out here from what he had gathered on his journey, so he likely be going in solo. The people of Stobar would sorely need the aid. The Republic may have been long dead, but Driver was still dedicated to the protection of democracy. Some things never change. It didn't take long for Driver to come up on the blockade. To his surprise, Driver was met with the very familiar design of a lucrehulk-class battleship, flanked by three warships and five heavy cruisers. It seemed that one vessel was already giving them hell, with another fleet arriving from god-knows where.

"Attention Lucrehulk-Class battleship," Driver began, making his presence known over an open comm channel, "This is Sergeant Driver of the Galactic Alliance," It was weird to say Galactic Alliance and not Galactic Republic, but Driver figured he'd get used to it. "I've received a distress call from the planet below. Why don't you tell me about this blockade you have here?"

A Gungan having a fleet? It seemed...rather unusual though the Galaxy was filled with strange individuals. However the idea of one being indebted towards a business, let alone a planet does not seem so far fetched considering the Confederacy of Independent systems that seemed to have existed a decade ago. This also being the first corporate fleet...could it mean more than just, a piracy tactic? It had intrigued him greatly as a sensor operator reports in that starfighters were being launched from the opposing vessel. What a folly of an idea to guard their own vessels or at least in an premature action of intimidation.

It could be simple to show a force of intimidation back, both of his Bright Eyes could easily destroy a Cruiser with a converged blast of their Composite Beam Lasers, they were already aligned for such an attack. However, it would leave them slightly vulnerable afterwards...and the numbers were not with them. Without starfighter compliments, he was at a disadvantage...but the Admiral Gnogg did not know that now did he? It would be a costly setback for them though an inevitable destruction of their own forces unless he forced a withdrawal.

However a bigger concern seemed to be raised within that same area, this fleet was blockading over payments? What an unusual way to force someone to pay if the other could not per say, pay it off. This is what leads to trafficking other beings and the sells of precious materials for near nothing...a forced scenario. Though it gave way to an idea as his hologram was sent over with a simple message, relaying his intentions.

"Payment should always be done so...but the amount of just sitting a fleet over a planet is also costly. What if...I was allowed to purchase the debt owed? It would provide your company with a substantial cushion from previous losses from this planet. I will have to take all the risks acquiring back the same debt, wasting my resources instead of your entire fleet having to sit above the planet and wasting away precious trade contracts that would instead, produce your company income. I am almost positive we can come to a deal...considering we are now picking up multiple contacts by the hour."

While he was still broadcasting to both the Outer Rim Development Core and Lord Cameron within the communications room on the bridge. A battle droid walked towards him and handed him another datapad. Admiral Gnogg took the datapad and gazed upon the information. Their trade representatives planetside were just wrapping up the 10th hour of negotiations. The Stobar Government was still refusing to accept responsibility for the missed payment. Landing their troops on the planet to force a settlement would be a clear violation of corporate neutrality. However his orders from his superiors within the Association were clear. They weren't to move from this spot until the matter was resolved.

"Yousa wantsa contractss; then so besa." Admiral Gnogg replied to the Outer Rim Development Core after they had requested such detail; sending the Milvayne-Stobar Contract over the secure transmissions line. The Stobar Government had borrowed a sum of 1 trillion credits from the Association for construction efforts. Repayment was approved with 5 installments which had to be paid by a certain date. Some parts were blacked out due to corporate privacy such as the names of the representatives who negotiated the agreement. The contract specifically stated in its clauses that the Stobar Government and no outside parties could pay the loan borrowed. In the event that the government was unable to pay or refused; than the Milvayne Commercial Association reserved the right to all the planet's resources in exchange.

Xam Jubb Xam Jubb

"Unfortunally for yousa; my ordersa are clearsa. Blockadea this planet untilsa planet governmentsu pay and nosa outside parties can dosa." Admiral Gnogg replied to Lord Cameron once he was done answering the Outer Rim Development Core and when he questioned weather or not he could acquire the debt owed. The Stobar-Milvayne Contract was very clear that only the stobar government could pay back the debt owed to the association. While it was indeed costly to blockade a planet. His superiors orders were paramount and he would not compromise.

A faint trace of a magnetic signature was detected by the scanners which was unknowingly caused by Arkyn Rane Arkyn Rane . After checking for error and that all systems were functioning as intended.
"Captain; we have detected a faint magnetic signature close to our blockade." : An old OM-1 Battle Droid stated to Captain Talmo on the bridge of the |:| Umberbool |:|. The Neimoidian Captain was at a loss here on what to do; diverting some of their starfighters from the Starfighter Screen would leave them more vulnerable.

"Trace the signal and divert 10 Galactic Class Starfighter to chase down this vessel." : Captain Talmo replied to the OM-1 Battle Droid. 10 of these fighters were diverted away from the blockade's starfighter screen around the flagship into following the magnetic signature. They were under orders to fire upon the vessel should they find them. Enforcing a planet wide blockade was only possible by not allowing any vessels through under any circumstances.

Two more communication transmissions were received; although Admiral Gnogg was busy dealing with the Outer Rim Development Core and Lord Cameron. His bony fingers pressed the transmissions button on the chair as both Aaran Tafo Aaran Tafo and Driver Driver appeared before him. Captain Talmo adjusted his tall hat upon his head and looked between them. One was a jedi and another seem familiar as a clone from ancient stories passed down through neimoidian lore.

"You have my attention; this is Captain Telmo Dalone of the 1st Corporate Fleet." : Captain Talmo replied; before shifting his bug like eyes towards the clone who wanted to know information about the blockade. The Galactic Alliance had no authority all the way out here in neutral space and he would remind him of that. "Sergeant Driver; The Galactic Alliance has no authority in this sector of space. Turn back your vessel immediately." : He said towards him.

"Cant really turn back considering I'm stuck behind your blockade. I was here before you." Aaran mused, hand coming to his chin, surprised that they had managed to contact him. He had only really set his droid friend to listen on on communications, not make an attempt to reach out to any party involved. Not right this moment.

Seems whoever they had monitoring their comms was good. Or at the least, better than one slightly modified BD unit. Maybe he should get an Astromech of some kind? They tend to be much better at various technical tasks, which might save him from being noticed like this in the future.

"So." He said, attempting to gather the attention of the individual who brought him up on-screen. "I'm Master Tafo of the New Jedi Order, and we've come to a bit of a problem." He said, holding out a hand with his finger and thumb held close together as if to emphasise the not so miniscule issue of the blockade.

"Namely, I'm not the only Alliance citizen stuck here." While they were still in neutral space, the Alliance's borders were a figurative stone's throw away. Considering they lived in a galaxy where one could almost casually travel faster than light. He had met more than a few disgruntled citizens that were less than pleased to find themselves stuck due to events they had nothing to do with. And statistically, there were individuals from other Galactic powers stuck behind the blockade as well.

Not even mentioning the various corporations that might have franchises or interests in this world.

"So, in the interest of avoiding a rather unfortunate misunderstanding with the Alliance. Would you be open to a meeting where we can renegotiate the terms of your agreement with this world? Perhaps sort out some form of repayment plan that doesn't involve a fleet hovering overhead?"

It was a long shot, but even the implied threat that the Alliance, with their far greater resources, would interfere directly to protect their own citizens would hopefully be enough to at least have the Gungan considering a de-escalation. And chances are whoever might have authority on this world would feel more comfortable during talks with a Jedi present ensuring that a reasonable aggreement was made.

Fleet composition: The Devourer

The edges of space.

He could feel it a whisper in the Force. The imposing figure of Kyrel Ren watched on board the eerie bridge of his destroyer. He was flanked by the corrupted bridge crew that possessed no will but the the Wrath’s own. He had reached far across the stars to feed the void from within. Anywhere the Living Force had gathered he would follow. This didn’t stop the Wrath of the Maw from indulging in his sadistic nature.

Feeling the call through the Force, the shadow’s own form stood motionless. His gaze pierced deep through the veil of stars, as the bone covered officer Commander Grodd approached him. “My Wrath we are detecting transmissions coming in and out of Stobar…” Grodd said fearfully, when presenting the Wrath any kind of news, he didn’t know what to fully expect. Always having an intense level of dread. Kyrel responded in kind, “Yes, I can feel them… What of it?” He asked wondering why he would bother his time on Stobar. Grodd kept his head bowed. Occasionally raising his head in order to speak carefully. “It’s attracted the attention of the Alliance… There are possible Jedi handling the crisis.”

He paused as there seemed nothing, but silence between the Commander of the vessel and Kyrel. Grodd took the opportunity to step back slowly, knowing how often he ended up in the grasp of Kyrel Ren. “The Alliance, and possibly Jedi? Perhaps we should give them a proper greeting.” The Wrath of the Maw sounded pleased, Grodd sighed in relief. He was grateful that today didn’t invoke his wrath. Kyrel continued, his form blended in with the darkness. “Set course for Stobar at once…” Ren commanded, Grodd could only nod quickly spatting out. “Y-Yes my Wrath… Right away..” He said quickly scurrying away from Kyrel’s sight.

Soon the Devourer itself would be enveloped in a flash of blue light. The Wrath’s own flagship going deep into hyperspace. Soon the Great Devourer would arrive to meet this blockade. What was occurring now would quickly grow more interesting. The Wrath stood eagerly awaiting to feed the growing hunger gnawing at him.

Before he could make his response to the blockade, a new ship entered the picture. Driver tapped into the feed between vessels, where he was surprised to overhear that the pilot was a member of the New Jedi Order. One other ship may not seem like a lot, but Driver knew that one ally was always better than none. He chose to reach out to the Jedi first.

“Pleasure to have you here, Master Jedi,” Driver greeted over the comms. “Sergeant Driver of the GA. Looks like we’ve got the same goal.”

Driver then tuned into the open channel, addressing the blockade’s flagship.

“Galactic Alliance jurisdiction may not reach into this sector, but our interests do,” Driver responded to the Gungan. “We currently have personnel on the planet that you’re rather unceremoniously holding up. I would strongly suggest considering negotiations with the Jedi.”

The clone had more time to assess the ongoing situation. Along with the blockade, the Jedi, and the third party vessel, there was a separate fleet entirely, one that seemed to be of an independent interest. He would need time to determine how to address them, but not now. All in due time. As Driver prepared himself for the possibility of Naval combat, new signatures came up. It seemed another vessel would be coming out of hyperspace soon. He changed his comm channel to address the Jedi once more.

“Just a heads up, we’ve got another in bound vessel, a large one from the looks of it,” Driver informed him. “I hope you have a plan.”

The Dragonsnake cruised beneath the battleship, drifting out into open space, just outside of Stobar's gravity well. Juno began to shunt power from her redundant systems to her sublight engines, slowly flooding its processors with power while maintaining her shields at a respectable percent.
R5 beeped a warning even as a wave of wariness washed over her.
"Ten starfighters, you say? How insulting."
No blockade was perfect. No fleet could blanket an entire planet- there would always be cracks to slip through, gaps at the fringes of the formations. That's where starfighters came in- small and quick, they were ideal for patrolling blockade lanes, should a ship manage to sneak past the larger battlecruisers and corvettes.
Once a squadron starfighters were involved, a smuggler running a blockade only had a few viable options. Rely on shielding and rules of engagement and race to the planet, feint an attack on the squadron to break its formation and then flee, or actually attack the starfighters and bank on superior firepower to buy you enough time to flee.
Arkyn preferred a mix of all three, for she was as brazen as she was clever as she was insane.
As she was not a normal smuggler, the Dragonsnake wasn't quite a normal YT-2000. After almost breaking the Dragonsake with her wild flying in the debacle over Ione, Juno had made some choice improvements to her beloved ship, namely increasing it's maneuverability, working out the inherent kinks in its systems, and upgrading its aging hull.
A few more jobs like this, and she'd be able to upgrade to a quad laser and even buff her shields.
Granted, the Dragonsnake wasn't quite as nimble in flight as a starfighter, and her sublight engines weren't quite as fast, but her shielding was solid for a ship of her size, her acceleration was top notch, her power converters were works of art, and her laser turrets were rated at over one thousand terrawatts.
Unfortunately for her, she didn't have a gunner for the turrets- as such, she could only rely on her cannons, if it came to a fight, and they were poorly placed to fend off chasing ships.
Unfortunately for them, poorly placed cannons had never stopped her before. Nothing was impossible when she was flying a ship.
"Ready the ion cannon, R5. I'll take the laser. We'll see if we can scramble their electronics and lose em' in the atmo. On my mark, redirect power from the cloaking device in 5... 4.... 3... 2... Now!"
The Dragonsake purred with coiled power as energy surged in its engines, building to a crescendo. As the starfighters neared her vector she pushed hard on the thrusters and the sublight engines roared to life, blasting her through space. The sheer momentum of her acceleration pressed Juno back into her seat. She felt her heart in her throat and her stomach in her chest, and it was glorious.

Watching the flight board change all of the outbound flights to delayed or cancelled, Dash knew he was up sith creek without a paddle. A smuggler without a ship was a punchline; a smuggler with no ship and no other forms of transportation getting on or off this world was just downright mean, he mused to himself, scratching his head to what his next move was. How he managed to find himself in this current predicament was a story for another time.

Use the public transit they said... you'll be harder to trace they said... relax and enjoy the sights, they said... somehow the feint outlines of a Lucrehulk-Class Battleship and it's fleet wasn't exactly the sights Dash was looking to take in. He had to get this package to Nar Shaddaa, and a quick glance at his holowatch showed he had just under seventy-two hours to do so before it "expired".

To be clear, he didn't exactly know what expired meant. He didn't really know what the package was. It was one of those "don't ask any questions" errands. He only knew it's final destination, it had a timer that was counting down - which Dash only could assume he didn't want to be around when it hit zero - and it was modestly heavy stuffed in his saddle bag.

Security guards at the spaceport passed by frantically, paying him and most people no mind, as they appeared to have their own hands full. A small yet powerful fleet running a blockade of your own planet tends to do that. If he couldn't wait for transit, he was going to have to make his own. The spaceport being in full lockdown with all ships grounded made stealing one of it's ships difficult; and that only got you out of the spaceport, never mind past the fleet of gunships and starfighter pilots with twitchy trigger fingers.

His R1 unit chirped and beeped at him, with his sensor array scanning the area.

"Of course we have to call an audible Rusty," he quipped to the droid, whom then lamented they had done so several times already.

"Ok, so let's call this plan G..." he quipped, followed by more beeps and whistles.

"That was one time... not all plan G's will turn out like that," he said, not so lightly patting the droid on the head.

Slinging his bag over his shoulder, a quick check of his blaster and scan of the area told him it was too busy here. If he was going to get off world, it wasn't going to be through the spaceport. He was going to have to barter, sneak or steal a ship if he was going to get off this planet; and only one of those things was he particularly good at.

"Come on," he said, motioning to Rusty to follow him, "we won't find plan G here," he added, then set out to put some distance between the spaceport and security, before securing another means of travel.

The response from the Gungan made him rather...displeased. Not even a little bit of consideration nor wiggle room? His expression under the mask could be described as a brick wall of unemotional displeasure. A sensor operator tapped his shoulder to show a light freighter has entered the area...something that was not of dangerous quality. Giving a small nod, he responded back as the voice was a bit more gritty but still had some professionalism.

"I quite understand your orders...but the longer you stay here, the more people will start to arrive. A simple freighter arrived to possibly deliver? I am unsure, perh-"
"My Lord, sensor pattern has picked up a large signature soon exiting hyperspace."

The voice would echo from the other side of the hologram, his head would turn as if to stare at the individual and nothing seemed to have happened. Turning back forward, he merely relayed the information back at him, almost in a pleased tone.

"It seems more company is coming...this time, something larger than myself. Lord Cameron out."

Letting the hologram fade, he would give an order to keep an eye on the developing situation, not wishing to be taken out of action quickly if the vessel proves hostile...though then again, the worst hostility so far was a Gungan with a lot of Capitalism.

"Who wrote this contract?" Xam said, puzzled at the response. "Only the government?" His voice trailed off after a moment and he nodded slowly. "Of course. This is not a genuine contract. It seems to rely on coercion."

He crossed his arms again. "Ask again to see the contract, in its entirety, asking both the government and the company. Narrow the transmission beam to the planet to cut through the jamming."

The Captain looked up, his face pale. "Tachyon sensors activating. Massive ship incoming from hyperspace. Identity unknown. Tachyon levels indicate dreadnaught at the least, if not SSD."

If Sullustan faces could pale, Xam's would. "Captain, I trust your judgment."

The Captain nodded and moved to the command console. "Shields to full. Keep engines ready. Start plotting emergency jump coordinates."

Blockade of Stobar

The Neimoidian Captain thought long and hard on the words spoken by the Jedi Master of the New Jedi Order. They made a convincing argument that the Galactic Alliance and other factions would be none too happy that their citizens were trapped behind some blockade. He considered allowing them to leave so that the Alliance would not get involved and with a quick confirmation with Admiral Gnogg.

"My orders are clear from the Association; Jedi Master Tafo and Sergeant Driver. However I have been granted permission from my superior to allow alliance vessels off the planet provided that they swiftly make their departure." : Captain Talmo replied to both Aaran Tafo Aaran Tafo and Driver Driver as he shifted within his seat. Allowing them past the blockade was deviating away from their current mission which would have displinary actions.

"Open up the blockade on the eastern side;" : Captain Talmo then said to the OM-1 Battle Droid acting as his aide as he closed the transmissions between himself and the others. "Yes; Captain. All vessel moved position on the eastern side." : OM-1 said into the communication line between each vessel. As the Milvayne-Class Heavy Cruisers named "Hunz" and "Gungan" moved the blockade's formation away from the eastern side of the planet. Allowing the alliance vessels through just enough but still within range to move back into the blockade's main formation.

The 10
Galactic Class Starfighter diverted away from the starfighter screen would begin following the magnetic signature of Arkyn Rane Arkyn Rane vessel. They were about to fire when vessel pulled blasted their engines into a full charge when they approached her. They broke formation with only 5 of the 10 following the vessel with a blast of their own diversion of power which allowed them to almost catch up with the (Dragonsnake) due to their very high speed rating.

Opening up their two laser cannons and blasting in their general direction although not expecting to hit them due to still being quite a distance away.

The Rest of the Five Galactic Class Starfighters moved away from the original formation and attempted to cut the fleeing vessel off by going into the planet's atmosphere.

Admiral Gnogg himself went into his ornamental robe pocket to grab a flask of boga noga; keeping himself hydrated was important due to being an aquatic species. Although since boga noga was a more toxic beverage it just served to keep his mind at ease when dealing with other people on the communication line. The one known as The Human attempted to persuade him arguing that the longer the blockade remained the more would arrive.

Admiral Gnogg had to agree and the |:| Umberbool's |:| sensors picked up on a rather large signature heading towards the planet. He had to consider the fact that it might be a pirate fleet or a rather large warship underneath one of the commands of the various superpowers within the region. He was confident in his ability to defeat this foe should they turn hostile however he wasn't sure if he could manage it without having much of his fleet destroyed in the process.

The Human hologram faded from his view leaving only the Outer Rim Development Core still on the channel. They wanted to see the contract in its entirely. Admiral Gnogg considered this until the presence of that warship detected demanded his full attention. He would have to communicate with the core when this new danger was accessed.

"Wesa finish thisa at another timesa." Admiral Gnogg said to Xam Jubb Xam Jubb before closing the transmissions between them. Moving away from the communication's room on board the bridge. He sat down within the command chair on board the flagship with Captain Talmo Dalone by his side along with OM-1 to communicate his orders to the rest of the fleet.

"Allsa stations; preparesa for battle." His voice rang out amongst the bridge; with a slight amount of water flowing freely. If they were going to face the unknown ( Kyrel Ren Kyrel Ren ) than they needed all warships on standby. The Flagship's guns were loaded and the shields recycled into a full charge.

Waiting for their challenge to arrive.

  • The Flagship |:| Umberbool |:| stayed in position
  • The Milvayne-Class Heavy Cruisers |:| Hunz |:| and |:| Gungan |:| moved away from the eastern side to allow Galactic Alliance Civilians out of the planet.
  • The Milvayne-Class Heavy Cruisers |:| Biermann - Gugo - Milvayne |:| stayed in position
  • The Milvayne-Class Trade Warship |:| Juko - Turvo - Ekzo |:| Stayed in position around flagship.
  • Five Galactic Class Starfighters have carried on the pursuit of Arkyn Rane Arkyn Rane
  • Five Galactic Class Starfighters moved into the atmosphere in an attempt to cut Arkyn Rane off.

Handsome blindfolded hyper-religious whackjob
He did not give Driver Driver a visual or verbal acknowledgement, but the Clone did receive a single message in binary. A simple acknowledgement of their presence and a request to allow him to handle the negotiations.

Not that he had any real authority over the GADF, but here in neutral territory, neither of them were strictly part of any diplomatic forces. But, the more mystically inclined of the two was a trained negotiator, and this was not his first rodeo.

He let out a somewhat pained noise, the sucking of air through his teeth, a practised motion to announce that he was about to deliver unpleasant news to someone. "A slight issue there. People got here through differing methods. We don't have the vessels needed to take them off-world. I certainly don't have the credits on me to purchase a ship large enough to bring them with me." He certainly couldn't fit several dozen civilians in the Freebird. He also doubted that Driver had a similar capacity.

"So that leaves us with two options. Either you open up for some renegotiation. Or I can contact the Alliance and they can send transport." The implication of that transport being a ship more than capable of scaring off the current blockade hung in the air. Because right now the Captain would know that they were trapped.

If they went back on their word and held Alliance citizens hostage, that would mean a Galactic Superpower would consider them something to be dealt with. And if they let the Alliance come and pick up their people, they would see what was going on and start applying pressure. Or even flat out going past the blockade themselves and begin delivering needed supplies.

Flawed as it may be, the Galactic Alliance still did try to help even neutral worlds where they could. Even if said aid may be expected to be paid back later.

"Alternatively." Aaran continued, the smallest smile appearing on his face. "We can go back to my previous suggestion and renegoti-"

He stopped, a chill running down his spin as his head whipped upwards towards the air. Focusing exactly on where Kyrel Ren Kyrel Ren was about to exit from Hyperspace. He could recognise that presence, recognise that hunger, that madness and incessant need. Some undead creature waltzing around in a meat suit.

That.... was a less than ideal new card to be played. From what he could sense, it was just the one ship. But that ship was a rather nasty powerhouse. More than capable of laying waste to a city, even an entire planet if it had enough time.

"Captain..." He said, his tone shifting to something more grave, already rising and moving to the pilot's seat of his ship, engines powering up and preparing for liftoff. "Something is coming, something dangerous. I will be approaching your ship now in order to better help coordinate defence. Because if you don't prepare to defend yourself, you're going to lose more than your contract with this world."

With the roar of engines, the Freebird lifted off, rising into the sky, the Jedi inside already switching channels to contact Driver. "Sergeant. We've got inbound hostiles. If you can, send out a distress call. If there are any Alliance or allied forces in nearby sectors, see if you can hail them."

"And then, get ready for a fight."

Fleet composition: The Devourer

In a galaxy at war not even the neutral systems were safe from the Wrath of the Maw. His insatiable hunger since Tython had spread far and wide. Some reports indicated that Kyrel’s flagship was the last thing anyone saw before entire settlements vanished. This affected everywhere from the frontlines of the Core Worlds to the edges of the Outer Rim. What was worse was the gathering of large groups, anywhere that drew Kyrel in with the living force.

Soon the flash of the blue wormhole ended. The Devourer emerging from hyperspace slowly. The massive juggernaut could simply be described as a mini SSD. An improvement made from the husk of a First Order Battlecruiser, armed to take on the deadliest of foes. As it entered the system it would radiate with a darkness that would spread to the planet’s surface. Those in tune with the Force could feel dread they couldn’t escape from. A cold that ran up and down spines. All those that could feel the Wrath only felt a cold rage mixed with insatiable hunger. All of it fueled by bloodlust.

Kyrel’s dark gaze focused on the blockade in front of him. The bone covered Commander Grodd approached. Rubbing his hands nervously, once more his head lowered. “M-My Wrath… Scanners indicate that the fleet before us is of little consequence. Composed of old Confederacy craft… Outdated compared to our firepower.” He spoke confidently in his tactical observation despite the overwhelming fear he held for his master. “I do not wish to strike them yet… I want to feel the fear first… There is little of it in the air. Perhaps a reminder is in order.” Grodd only bowed his head to Kyrel’s words.

The massive behemoth that was the Devourer moved slowly. It was heading right for the blockade. It had no signs of slowing down, as if it was going to Ram straight through. The dark wedge seemed to be a looming shadow compared to the confederacy vessels that formed the blockade. Kyrel’s gaze remained fixated on the planet below. The Wound in the Force sending out waves of darkness. Hoping to instill doubt, and a sort of manic fear in any sentient being within his vicinity. All the while the Devourer faced the bulk of the fleet, making no moves to send out any transmission. The Wrath wanted the tension to build to a height, either to dare them to make the first move or to have them make a mistake with fear clouding them. One way or another Stobar would not be safe from his Wrath.
