The Witch was dead.

Alessandra’s expression remained visibly flat and dispassionate as the heavy gunner unloaded his scattergun into the Witch’s head, her body slumping over in the wake of the assault. While the HRD was programmed to view the Witches of the Brain Demon Cult with the utmost suspicion, she could not help but to feel a swelling of disappointment in recognition of her own failure to save the life of an ally. With one Witch dead, that would make defending the generators all the more desperate, their advantages being slowly chipped away bit by bit while the Mandalorians seemed comparatively immortal, if the speed at which they had all but captured the complex was any indication. Her thoughts were confirmed as her chakram, which she thought rivaled the blade of lightsaber in cutting capability, missed its mark, while also failing to cut through the gunner’s rotary cannon, becoming lodged within instead. All the while, the other Mandalorian simply sidestepped her electricity, showcasing impeccable agility in the process.

Suddenly, a reverberating boom shook the walls of the complex, causing the Chaplain to falter for a split-second as her organic processors set to work in triangulating the blast. Fortunately, the parts of the complex which were further away from the epicenter, including where Alessandra was located, remained intact, but those within the area closer to the blast were likely less fortunate. Nevertheless HRD did not hesitate in pressing the offensive. With the Witch defeated, she no longer needed to worry about collateral and she could adjust her attacks accordingly.

Immediately, a little more over a second after the trooper managed to evade her electricity, Alessandra harnessed the dovin basal organ in her heart to generate a small-scale, low-powered inhibition field around the two Mandalorians, intending to cease their momentum and weigh them down with a swell of gravity. Then, opening her mouth, she unleashed an invisible, wide-beam blast of hard sound from the organ in her throat, hovering to place the Mandalorians in enfilade from what was likely 12 meters away and closing, if they opted to charge her. Aimed for roughly center mass, the sonic blast carried enough energy to possibly rupture organs and shatter bones, but Alessandra did not bank everything on the attack, hovering back three meters immediately after the sonic discharge left her mouth, to create more separation.

The Mandalorians were proving to be far more resilient than expected. However, the HRD had yet more steps to perform in this dance.

It all rested on their shoulders.

Reinforcements were still nowhere to be seen and already, warnings were transmitting across the Battle Net, indicating that elements of the Mandalorian Warfleet were descending on the capital, doubtlessly to either initiate a bombardment or in some way, bolster the Mandalorian forces already running rampant through the city. Regardless, the shield generators would be needed either way, to buy more time for the Eternal Fleet and the larger House Io elements to punch through the blockade.

And yet, some were beginning to fear that time was not on their side.

“Running low on ammo!” Nellee called out as she slammed a fresh CryoBan cell into her rifle, her eyes wide with a mix of focus and trepidation, as she realized that she had only one of those left. Once she ran dry, the rifle would be little more than dead weight.

“Everyone, start conserving ammo! This won’t end anytime soon!” Abessa added, in turn switching her blaster to the burst setting as she spoke.

Fortunately, the Mandalorians did not have the advantage of endless numbers, but rather, time, unless something changed in the fleeting engagement transpiring high in orbit. Eventually, the shield generator would fail if it came under enough fire. Fortunately, that was where the auxiliary generators would come in, if...

As if on cue, the ground seemed to quake beneath the feet of the Sirens, driving Abessa to turn her attention back to the main generator, breathing a sigh of relief seeing that it remained intact. Whatever was transpiring outside, it might determine whether they would receive reinforcements, or if they were to be overwhelmed and vaporized here, under the relentless bombardment of the Iron Fleet.

For now, all they could do was pray and hold to the last woman.

  • A little over a second Omen evades the electricity attack, Alessandra harnesses the dovin basal organ in her heart to generate a low-power, miniaturized inhibition field around Thonn and Omen, intending to slow them down or cease their momentum.
  • Harnessing the sonic organ in her throat, she delivers a wide-beam blast of hard sound aimed for Omen and Thonn, from roughly twelve meters away. In the process, she positions herself to place them both in enfilade.
    • In the wake of the attack, she hovers back three meters to create additional separation

"But they are doctors and medical staff!" she said sadly.

Eina knew that in most places such were left alone and allowed to operate freely on the battlefield. There is no example of this at the Netherworld, but here at Realspace it was a very pleasant surprise for her when she first encountered this habit. In fact, she has since secretly hoped that everyone will abide by this; although she read and saw recordings that this was not always observed during the battles against the Sith Empire. And it was also common for hospitals to be attacked by members of the enemy. She felt sorry at that time.

"I knew it would be a war crime if someone attacked them." she said, and it probably seemed from this too that she didn’t know much about human behaviours.

She would expect nothing from a demon, but she would expect from living beings. Anyway, the place was relatively defensible, at least from the attacks coming from the ground. However, Eina was really worried about the "space battle" taking place in the atmosphere. The Valkyrja had to think about what opportunities they could do. Unfortunately, there wasn't much. Eina still hadn't regained her full strength; her soul was not completely regenerated yet, so at the moment she was more of an average Force User, with countless limitations.

"As a last resort, I can open a portal into the Netherworld and we can go there. However, I would be afraid to take the seriously injured people there. I am afraid it would be a one-way journey for them. For the others, this danger does not exist." she said the options.

She once encountered this problem when she rescued Geiseric and the man was dying. She didn’t dare take him to the Netherworld, and it almost cost them both their lives. Back then they had known each other for a while and were friends, but only then did they get closer. But now it didn’t matter, just the present, the Valkyrja had to pay attention to the current situation.

"Unfortunately, I see no other solution than what you say and…" her voice trailed off when she heard the voice of MANIAC in her mind thanks to the biochip. "The Mandalorian fleet set off for the capital, 10-15 standard minutes before they get there." she said in a pale voice; this meant they would be safe here now, but the capital was not.

Location: Main Generator Room

Runi stopped just inside the generator room with her hands atop the rails. The avian beak of her helmet slowly panned off to the right to regard the armed forces that sought to dig in before the arrive of Sergeant Omen Sergeant Omen and Thonn Rokkal Thonn Rokkal from the other entrance. Evidently the deep, reverberating sounds of a beast breaking the door down had been too unlocalized due to the low frequencies of the sound for them to know its origin; the platoon's primary attention seemed to be on the main door the other Mandalorians (Omen and Thonn) would come through given the lack of blaster fire in her direction. Runi hadn't be part of their group that had managed to progress so far into the facility, and taken a different route as a result.

<"A'den Actual, Harpy. The generator may be protected by magic,"> Runi announced to Kranak Vizsla Kranak Vizsla as her eyes fell upon the metal beast before her. <"But magic cannot protect against all things simultaneously. Know your enemy, know yourself. Do something they will not expect of you.">

It was around that time when the Shaman felt the Witches as they sought to stir up another magical effect. Typically, as a spiritual counselor, Runi would instruct people to not give in to their emotions. One could use them to fuel action, but should not become so blinded they were little more than a rabid beast. They were all people no matter how placid their buy'ce [helmet] made them seem. Emotions were natural. Healthy even, especially when balanced or regulated so one was neither too ravenous or too idle.

In that moment, as the gravity nearby began to swell, Runi tapped in to her emotions. Rather, the Shaman tapped into the frustration, and anguish, and anger, and rage of all Mandalorians in the surrounding area. Those that fought in the streets. Those that fought on the rooftops. Those that fought in the corridors. Those that lay dying from blaster or radiation or horror. Those that had died from every horror aforementioned, the destruction of the ship outside that flattened an entire area, and the on-going bombardment of local forces. Energy was energy that could never be annihilated, merely transformed. Energy that caused the tufts of flame in her helm's eyes to flare brighter.

The railing beneath her hands creaked a second before Runi stood up and shoved a hand straight into the gravity well at her side. The Shaman reached out to all those that fought in, on, and around the complex to shout telepathically,

For the Manda!

Power poured into the Witches' gravity well just before Runi whipped her arm around and sent the infuriating trap down toward the platoon below. Nothing was more exciting than an invisible, localized disruption in air currents and force -- a tempest in a bottle. Hopefully a sufficient distraction for those brave souls that would assail these wretches.

Meanwhile, there was work to do.

As the Shaman leaped atop the railing, she conjured the power of the Manda (Force) to soar forward through the air. In her wake the conjured beast let out a mighty roar as it turned to plow its beefy fist into the Zombies and Portal Demons nearby. It would gladly rend the limbs from them and any 'Citizen' that dared enter that particular corridor to keep them out of the Generator room. The screams, roars, and wet snaps of bone would greet those Platoon members that might rush to investigate before they too found the eye of a beast far too big for the corridor upon them.

Runi, however, cared not for the fate of the never-lived (Zombies, Demons) or fools. Nor had she time as the corpse of an unlived was casually flung aside by the beast now behind the Shaman in the air; it crumpled over the railing of the raised platform with stairs that led up to, and dropped down toward the floor below. A shaped charge exploded upward along the side of the generator so it would not harm their source of power. The explusion of air and heat washed over the Shaman as it washed into the air above.

The sound and rumble of one of their explosives would no doubt drawn attention if the roars of the conjurd beast as it tore bodies apart outside of the chamber did not. Whether it did or not, the Shaman had leaped atop the Main Generator, and had far more important matters to attend.

She lifted her taloned hands into the air as she called out to the Manda, Ca'a mhi ti kot be Aor, taor be A'yihbe, bal gett'se be Oyar'agr. Sarsala gar Adiik tid'ica at shukur tkiriyr be etie Aru'ela, bal Mita'a be jara'i cayata. «Spoken in Mando'a: Bless us with the strength of Ages, the wisdom of the Ancients, and the courage of Eternity. Grant your Children the means to break the spirits of their Enemy, and the Valor of honorable combat.» A green helix began to coil about the length of the Shaman's arms as the chant passed through her Soul. Then her hands slammed down upon the Generator and crashed upon the magical cage woven about the metal beast.

Runi clenched her teeth as the power mounted and slammed again and again into the opposition faster and faster and faster. The clash of magical energy caused green lightning to snap out from the generator toward the walls and the rails and the floor of the room. The flames of the Shaman's helmet grew brighter and larger until it seemed to utterly consume her head in its blaze. When her vod arrived they would not contend with the meddling of Witches. They could fight and claw their way through the enemy and lay waste to this generator. As was their birthright! To fight to victory or to death. If Witches sought to rewrite the world to their ends then Runi would tear out their pages to give her people the opportunity to grow and show their quality before the Manda.

Runi entered the generator room from an alternative door compared to Omen and Thonn since the group separated early on and took different paths. She stood upon a second-story platform with stairs that led up to it, which was to one side of the generator.
Runi strengthened the gravity well near her so it would draw things toward it -- like a stationary, strong dust devil/whirlwind. More as a distraction for dug in platoon troops than anything.
Runi intends to remove the magical protections on the generator so explosives/damage by others - e.g. Omen and Thonn - are effective.
Edit/Addition by Request: Added an explosive triggered by a corpse, and expounded on Runi and Omen taking different paths in prior round of posts.

Alora patched in to the console she'd taken cover beside as blaster fire was spewed into the chamber -- mindful not to shoot the generator itself, no doubt. Vulcan and the Twenty kept the Ultras from advancing, thankfully. Hard enough to work with all this racket; it'd be even worse if it were only a few feet away.

As she worked to cross a few more wires, the young Mandalorian activated her comm with her chin. <"Shai! Shai, I'm about to rig this thing to overload; once it hits critical there's no going back. So, when you give the order the countdown starts and we need to get the frell out fast. Do you copy?">

Oh, but Alora, modern engineering has safeties built in to prevent overloads. Oh, but Alora, everyone has backup generators. Oh, but Alora-- HEY! Alora hadn't stolen countless Engineering textbooks and sliced into several Tech Corpo servers just to learn which secretary the CEO got frisky with in the office! Well, not just that. There'd been a job where finding that out had been the-- Not the point! The thing about technology, however, was no one -- no one -- accounted for everything. Kark cost money, yo. Somewhere, somehow a corner was cut because the risk was so abysmally low it wasn't worth the creds.

Like, bet these people hadn't factored in for Mandalorians! They were like ants! Really angry, vicous ants whose bite was the most painful thing you'd ever felt. Sure, sure, you could crush some of them, but the ones you missed would crawl up your leg and bite you in the--

Alora's HUD lit up signalling she'd found the right wire bundle.

"Bypass the heartbeat sensor. Disable the excess voltage sensor. Disable the regulators. Spin up the backup generator," Alora muttered to herself as she watched the energy output grow. <"Ready for fireworks, Shai?">

"Hey, V, any chance you still got explosives? See if you can collapse the ceiling over those Uglies' heads. Less time then have to get over here to figure this out the better." Not that they'd have much of that. They'd all be kind of on the edge of certain death trying to outrun this mess.

"Guys," Alora twisted about on the floor to look back at the four squads. Looked like a few of them were nursing wounds from getting caught in the rain of blaster fire. Wounded arms and legs. Didn't look like any casualties, but she didn't have the greatest line of sight on all of them from where she lay. "When the rest show up, we need to lay down everything we have to keep the grunts pinned. Not gonna lie, it's gonna get loud, and it's gonna get ugly." Alora grinned behind her helmet before adding with cheer, "But then that's what we came here for, right? Let's show 'em what Mandalorians are made of!"

Sith.

Do you want Mandalorians? Because that's how you get Mandalorians.

He'd still been recovering on hands and knees when he spotted Darth Vornskr and noted how the edge of her sword flashed with red fire. A Brazier from the ceiling broke and crashed to the floor near him spreading its own fire in the smoke that Vornskr had summoned to fill the sanctum, whether or not it spread out through the city streets Andras could only speculate on. Nonetheless between the risen dead and the Sith the Dark Horse was not about to wait down on his hands, almost prone for them to come for him.

As the brazier launched at him Andras, pushing off his feet and already low would throw himself into a shoulder roll. The Brazier would shoot past him, presumably crushing several of the undead and anything else in its path before coming to a halt while the Mandalorian came up onto a knee again.

This time Andras rose completely, the Phase-Blade in his right hand whipping out at the undead who came at him. Lack of regard for their own safety and reckless abandon meant they were easy to cut down. The incredible sharpness of the Phase-Blade would make quick work of the meaty parts of the undead. Limbs and heads would find themselves ripped free of the body without much difficulty. Hopefully it was enough to fell those that came directly at the Mandalorian.

The Armor Andras wore was soon stained with the ichors of the risen. All this only permitted Vornskr more time to come closer, perhaps even seeing her opponent hovering closer to exhaustion as well.

To a man deep in the fight the hacking and slashing could seem like forever even though it was only moments. Achy limbs and the bruised body seemed to numb, forgotten in the moment. The Fighting that went on in the peripheral seemed to blur.

Andras would have launched himself at Joycelyn Zambrano Joycelyn Zambrano when she drew close, his Phase-Blade flashing in a forwards arc to make contact with Zaudraka on the inside and lock with the Sithsword. He'd tie up her sword as long as he could, pressing his weapon to hers in what might become a contest to jockey for position but Andras knew his foe, larger and stronger than he was would eventually be able to overpower him. The Undead at his back would eventually come for him again as well.

Lifting his left arm amidst the clash of swords he'd fire another of the Darts from his Palm Shooter. This time he aimed low at her midsection, a large target that was difficult to miss at close quarters. Again the Dart came equipped with an armor piercing tip, penetrating Vornskr's armor came secondary to the punch that the shot would deliver though.

"The Explosions outside herald the fall of Panatha."

...the metallic voice of the comms called to her...

"Even if I stay trapped here with you Mandalore has won."

Cor's unit has popped shields, and closed with Shai Maji Shai Maji 's lads. The generator room Ultras are doing what NPCs do best -dying and trying not to die. Steels been drawn, the gauntlet picked up etc. etc. This'll be it for me, I think.

Till next time, you mad Mandos you! :)

The Major watched as the grenades went off in unison, throwing the Mandalorian shieldwall into momentary disarray. Bodies flew. Shields crumpled. And an opportunity presented itself; Corin planned to make the most of it. "First platoon!" She yelled over the secure channel, rising to her feet. "Activate your shields and air your blades. We've work that needs doing." As one, those Ultranauts still capable of fighting did as Cor had commanded. The snap of energy shields being activated and the hiss of 'steel being drawn filled the corridor.

Getting into formation before the enemy could think to react, the Ultranauts began their advance. Shoulder to shoulder, shield to shield, the Empire's warriors sought to close with the Mandalorians as quickly as they could manage under the circumstances. The pale blue shields lit the corridor as they charged, and stopped the occasional golden bolt sent their way. Things were looking good, for a few seconds, at least. The enemy were still reeling, their wounded struggling to regain their feet. A few stayed that way; down and out and offering little in the way of help to those still standing.

Those still standing fired rockets. Goddamn rockets!

"Down shields-" Cor tried to call out, the sudden scream of wrist rockets loud in her ears. One zipped by overhead, missing the curved wall of shields by inches. Another followed. The third, however, struck the ground in front of the Ultranauts, the blast powerful enough to throw the front-rankers backwards into those behind them. The line shimmered and shook, men and women struggling to realize just how close they'd come to total annihilation. A few bolts peppered the line as it reformed, striking armor and boards.

"Stand!" Corin shouted, hauling the Ultranaut in front of her to his feet. Blood stained the armor guarding his neck. Cor took his place in the front, borrowed his shield.

”Why don’t you come fight us like some real soldiers?!”

"When are you going to stop talking and start fighting, dog?" Cor challenged the enemy's leader, picking her out by the markings on her armor. The back-and-forth hurling of insults was new to the Ultranaut. Usually things didn't get this close, this... muddied. Usually the artillery picked the enemy apart before they got the chance. Or failing that, the machine gun nests did. This was new, and, surprisingly, Corin found herself welcoming the chance to goad her enemy.

”You wanted steel, come and get it!”

Laughing now, the Ultranaut nodded at her enemy Shai Maji Shai Maji . With pleasure, she thought, joining her soldiers as they sped up for the last few meters. Bellowing, or perhaps braying for blood, the two shieldwalls collided with a great clangor. Warriors on both sides were thrown back, and then the blades came into play. Emptying both barrels of her shotgun into the Mandalorian stood before her, Corin let her weapon fall by its sling, before drawing her sword.

"At the korcsok, lads! At them!" A sergeant in the front row shouted, jamming his bayonet into the space between the shields, before drawing it back to have another go. "Give no quarter?"

"Expect no quarter!" Corin shouted back, her voice one among many as the blades reaped a bloody toll on Mando and Ultranaut alike.

Panatha System, Distant orbit over Panatha, 'Ardent Raiders'
Fighting the Eternal Navy advance . . . .
"Taking heavy fire!"

Silas knew that already. They were engaged by a section of the Eternal navy, the two cruisers hitting them hard. Her frigates were not made to last this long against bigger ships and she was looking at her monitors to see and wait for the best possible moment. The three ships were fighting since several minutes, their focus on the shields, only responding with their heavy turbolasers, focusing on the smaller ships of the enemy, concentrating fire on one after the other.

"Engage engines, bearing 10,06! Full power, reinforce starboard shields, keep up the fire."

The voice of the naval officer was calm and precise. The three frigates would break the fight and perform a fast manoeuvre to disengage from the enemy to their left, moving away from both the planet and Enclave forces.

Panatha System, Distant orbit over Panatha, Battlefleet Vandemar
Moving into battle line behind the vanguard . . . .

The vanguard was not far ahead and they had only screening duties, Commodore Silas had very precise orders from the High Imperator and would not fail. Her chances of survival were small, but the entire Battlefleet was ready to die without a second thought for the greater good Vandemar represented and what its Princeps dictated.

Erynien sat on the bridge of the Viribus Unitis, the 'flagship' of the Battefleet over Panatha. With satisfaction she watched how the entirety of the fighters and bombers disembarked from the hangars to prepare their attacks between the capital ships. They would be held back, especially the bombers, for as long as it would take to have a proper opportunity. The fighters would stay with them and all interceptors would be on standby to attack incoming strike craft.

As he saw the vanguard engaged in heavy fighting, the Admiral opened an overview on the status of the three frigates ahead. He knew when they would perform their fighting shift of positions. He just had to make sure that someone was coming up from behind to take their place and they were.

"Full speed ahead, all power to the engines, target the cruisers, all weapons fire. For Vandemar."

Eryniens voice carried enthusiasm and eagerness where the commodores was cold and calculating. The rest of the battlefleet darted forward, the guns blazing as they were moving to engage the enemy in a rapid assault. The heavy cruisers were leading the assault accompanied by the Parma-frigates. The Aresus-carriers remained behind them, with the Ultima squadron at their Panatha-pointing flank.

Panatha System, Orbit over Panatha, Omnia Vincit, Strategium
The battle is unfolding . . . .

With a cold stare the Grandmaster of the Vandemarian Legions observed the unfolding battle. His eyes took in all information seen, even impressions from the surface and analyzing them, calculating possible results and events, just to calmly give an order every now and then. He was not opposing freedom of operations, giving out tasks and seeing the commanders perform within their set parameters, but every each of his subordinates was aware of his view and omni-present mind for warfare.

His heavy armored gauntlets were moving faster than the ordinary could catch, typing information on several keyboards while his eyes scanned information, scrolled through databanks and switched windows on monitors. The staff officers were in constant chatter, opening and closing channels with ships to relay the commands and adjustments of the High Imperator. The Legionnaires around would be used to it, but if any outsider would witness it, they would most likely stand and watch in awe of this intimidating performance, taking in minor details and giving specific orders or advice how to overcome the situation, issue or improve it.

Panatha System, Orbit over Panatha, Legion Warships
Moments after strike craft waves were spotted heading towards them . . . .

The TIE screen of interceptors had been deployed already, now the order was issued to also send half the present Stormeagle squadrons out as well to counter the incoming fighters and bombers. Faster than the usual bomber, but definitely not made for dog-fights, they are gunships, well armed and armored, but usually for planetary assaults.

On all three ships several Cohorts stood ready at the boarding pods, preparing to jump in and cause havoc on another ship, even capturing or at least destroying it. The Legions were trained for close combat, their heavy power armor, their shields and Lancers were made to suit these needs and provide apt protection and devastating firepower.

In the Vandemarian navy, the Legion ships were the most heavily armored and armed vessels, their hulls made to overcome planetary defenses and break through blockades to put the Legions to their optimal use. There is no compromise in them, no grace, just pure efficiency. A Legions warship is a tool of war, a weapon, a tank. And right now, they are still, silent. Their weapons are charged, the guns ready and locked, the engines heated, the shields online, but they are just sitting at the flank of the Enclave fleet, slightly behind and waiting while being shot at.

The Omnia Vincit is shrugging off most of the incoming fire, the angle is bad and it is partly covered by the Lachrimae. The Legion shields have conducted additional energy to the shields to support their passive stance as they observe the battle unfolding, as they watch how heavy fire is more consistently hitting them. The enemy gunners must be amazed by these sitting blue and golden ducks.
Yet the Lachrimae has taken a very heavy hit by one of the autocannons aimed at her, but remained valiant, sealed off the minor hull breach and got right back on track. Patiently waiting for their prey to get where they want it.

  • The Ardent Raiders are returning fire, concentrating on a single target at once, and perform an evasive manoeuvre, darting high speed to the flank, further away. Shields reinforced on exposed flank.
  • Main Battlefleet line rapidly speeds forward to attack the Eternal Navies force which is harrassing the Ardent Raiders. Sending their fighters forward as well, keeping bombers in reserve.
  • Legion fleet sits still as before. Half (6) the Stormeagles are launched to support the fighters intercepting incoming fighters and bombers. Legionnaires are ready at the boarding pods. Minor shield damage for Omnia Vincit. Shield damage for Morbus Sire. Major shield damage and minor hull damage to Lachrimae.
Sorry for the delay folks! Had a tough week, please write me if I missed anything, I will edit accordingly.

Twelve minutes seemed to pass by in a moment. The dark landscape of Panatha had all merged into a continous blur that grew gradually brighter as the explosions from the firefights in the capital city illuminated the countryside. And soon they were over the capital city of Panatha itself: the formerly resplendent now ablaze with Mandalorian fury.

The warfleets of the Enclave hung ominously silent over the city, casting shadows in the moonlight, blotting out the stars. The light of the fires below danced across Romul's smooth dark skin and amber eyes. Reckoning was at hand.

"The city's defensive shield remains intact, though it appears to be weakened," a Cernr-type droid at a scan-comm station reported. Gallius and the other Mandalorians at the helm turned to Romul with expectant expressions, waiting for his orders.

The city's shields were still up. Which meant that there were still Mandalorians fighting below. But they had been given their orders, and they knew their mission. Those that were successful would be able to escape offworld to fight another day. And those that died today would forever live on in the sagas that would be sung of this day. "Begin the bombardment. Use mag-pulse warheads to bypass shields and incapacitate remaining defensive systems. Once shields are down, slag the city to the ground. If there are obvious Mandalorian positions, avoid them. But with all else, do not hesitate in its destruction. With our proton torpedos, laser cannons, and turbolasers, bring the might of the warfleets to bear."

"Leave nothing standing."

The first volley of mag pulse warheads lit up the night as they descended in fiery streaks to the city below. Fired from multiple launchers from over twenty ships, they were too numerous to count; and for a brief moment, the streets of Canthar would be nearly as bright as day as the night sky was illuminated by the mass volley of warheads. But any awe would turn quickly into horror as the mag-pulse warheads slammed into defensive hardpoints. They were not meant to destroy them, but the electromagnetic pulse would extremely weaken or outright disable defensive systems: power generators, shield generators, anti-aircraft defensive emplacements. Once the mag-pulse volley had been launched, then came the full bombardment, the thousands of missiles, hundreds turbolaser and laser cannons brought to bear down on the city. From their position a little less than a kilometer above the city, the massive warfleets rained down heavy fire indiscriminately. Canthar was an enormous, sprawled out city that would not be brought down in a mere single volley, so the warfleets rained their destruction slowly across the surface, advancing meter by meter, block by block, surely but slowly slagging everything to the ground.

It was a display of fire and fury. It was mass destruction and hot vengeance. The explosions boomed brightly and laserfire echoed strongly through the night. The fires danced in Romul's eyes, and the deafening roar of bombardment contrasted sharply with the silence aboard the bridge. This was indiscriminate, total warfare, of the likes that none of the Mandalorians aboard had seen in over a decade or more. Yet the Sith had dealt a hundredfold of the same damage to Mandalore; so was not all this justified? An eye for an eye, a hand for a hand, a people for a people. Romul Saxon, Akaan'alor, Warmaster of the Mandalorian Enclave, would ensure that the Sith reap their dues.

  • The bombardment of Canthar has begun.
    • First volley: Mag-pulse warheads at defensive hardpoints, aimed to diminish or disable defensive capacity.
    • Second volley (continuous): Weapons fire from all offensive emplacements, indiscriminate razing of city.
  • All Mandalorians are expected to evacuate else they be caught in the bombardment.

Perfect synchronicity and teamwork. Each opponent hit their mark in such a way their singular target was almost overwhelmed. Blood spurted and steamed, and his spear clattered to the ground as the man was hopefully off his mark enough for this strategy he decided to do next to work. Whether the Empress took this offer and move or stayed, he couldn't say. But... With the shaking that had just happened, spewing dust and mortar, he knew what was coming next. And as he waited for the others to finish their assaults for his own opening, and take it.

The thud and boom outside let him know, and he tensed as he sprung into action. He stepped into the flailing arm of Carnifex and wrapped the man in a bear hug, blood trickling from the impact on his ear and nose on the right side. With a rush, the air left his lungs and he wrapped the man tighter in a hug as he jabbed down over the arm to link either miss completely or jab his poisoned vambrace knife into the throat of the Sith Lord and dispense it's payload of equivox entirely into the Sith Lord. Resultant pain and delirium from it would make for him using the darkside in the blade hit it's mark.

But beyond that, he went to grapple the man, bending the arm that hit him behind Carnifexs own back and wrap legs in a tangle, twisting. The idea was to bear the man to the ground, keeping him in the palace. Coughing as the enviro-scrubbers and air filters in his helmet choked up a moment before kicking in again, he spat out a command as he leapt and hopefully bore his opponent to the ground in a grapple that would hopefully hold until the bombardment bore them both to the Nether.

"It has begun! Go! Go and sing my name at the fires! He's mine, kote darasuum!"

Rotary cannon got wrecked
Thonn melee charged at Alessandra, but got clipped by the sonic blast and missed.
Recovered the dropped scattergun.
Thonn the moved to the exit with an incendiary grenade to help cover allies’ escape

The rotary cannon was cleaved into and destroyed.

Thonn's only focus had been on keeping his scattergun aimed at the witches head, and timing his pull of the trigger to place the shot there. When he had hit the wall he struck it hard, unable to do much to decelerate before the collision. The impact gel beneath his beskar armour absorbed the blow, straining and cracking beneath the force of impact against the ferroconcrete wall. Bruised, but uninjured beyond that, the Mandalorian warrior faced down the threat with his carbine in hand. The scattergun would have been more ideal, but not only did the weapon need reloading, it was on the floor and out of reach.

<"Thonn, I'm going to throw smoke. Charge in with your jet pack with this afterward and I'll support you from behind. Don't lose it, It's a memento from Courasant">
Omen offered a much better weapon for the task; he didn't know if Alessandra Io could deflect or affect blaster bolts; Thonn mused she likely had countermeasures to that, but unlikely that she was as prepared for a swung blade. He waited for the smoke, but as the obscuring fog burst from the grenade, he found himself weighted down by what could only be more witchcraft. An inhibition field surrounded him and Omen, making the planned burst of his jetpack all but impossible. with motion weighed down by the gravity well. It did not stop him from trying – and soon the field would obstruct him no more.
For the Manda!
Once free to move and put the plan concocted with Omen into action, he did so immediately. Rather than rush Alessandra head on, Thonn's jetpack jump took him a curving path that hooked right. She let out a sonic burst, and while he had moved laterally enough that he was not caught in the centre of it, he hadn't move enough to completely evade the attack. Pain shot though his left arm as the sonic waves blasted through and broke a bone in his hand – thankfully not the one that held Omen's loaned dread blade.

Compromised by injury, Thonn immediately veered away from Alessandra towards a corner of the room. He landed with far more control than last time, although it was still far from graceful. If there was a silver lining, it was that he landed near his dropped scattergun. The blessing was minor; whatever Alessandra had done to his arm had mangled it good, and putting new shot in the weapon would be too difficult with only one good arm. Even aiming the carbine would be a strain. Breathing was notably harder, telling him he'd likely suffered a chest injury too.

"When the rest show up, we need to lay down everything we have to keep the grunts pinned. Not gonna lie, it's gonna get loud, and it's gonna get ugly."
The rotary cannon had been the main deal, and that'd been turned to kriff.

Loading the scattergun or aiming the carbine required one more good arm than he currently had.

And swinging the dread blade required one more good lung than he currently had.

He was really scraping the barrel's bottom for backup weapons now.

Thankfully, he had time to consolidate. Runi's summoned beast was tearing through his foes, serving as protection against the overwhelming onslaught he had been worried about. He hadn't been overrun or killed yet, and so Thonn would continue the fight.

He pulled out an incendiary grenade, holding it in his good hand with the dread blade held loose in his other. About to throw it, Thonn halted his action when he heard the message delivered through his hud: bombardment was imminent, and escape would need to be immediate.

Though badly injured, the fight in the Mandalorian warrior hadn't waned at all. He wanted to stay and engage in what further battle he could, he wanted to retrieve the rotary cannon that, though unservicable, had carried him through too many battle to count. But bombardment couldn't wait, and the given order meant Thonn would only obligingly take action to escape.

A light burst from his jetpack took him towards the exit of the room, where he took cover with the incendiary charge in hand. One of his last usable weapons, it could do some good to cover their withdrawal. Maybe he'd even get a hold of Kranak; he's gotta have some bacta on him. Thonn sorely needed some.

Even more, he needed to get out of here. They all did, and Thonn would help ensure his vode could. Once they made their escape, he would move with them and abandon the scene, having seen the mission accomplished.

"Amy! They've started bombardment!" Jack said.

"Chit!" The Amalgam swore as she destroyed a Mandalorian Ace with her laser cannons.

"Is the shield still up?" The Witch asked.

"Scan says yes! Wow, our organic siblings really gave them hell!" Jack said.

"We cannot let that shield fall! We have to reduce the damage being inflicted on it as much as possible. All surviving fighters, converge on the fleet directly firing on the capital!" The Amalgam ordered.

"What's your plan?" Jack asked.

"We can't stop lasers. But we can feth their missiles up. We have to also target what's firing them." The Amalgam answered.

"All Nuetralizer TIE's this is The Amalgam. Target the missiles and bombs. Repeat, target the missiles and bombs. Jester Squadron, break off and start hitting the Mandalorians."

"What are you going to do?" Heath the Model 1 asked.

"Try and buy our citizens some time..." The Amalgam answered, diving with the Nuetralizer TIE's towards the atmosphere...

The Nuetralizer TIE's dived with her, firing on the missiles, exploding some. Not as many as they would have liked, as the projectiles moved very fast, and they also had to contend with both the Turbolaser shots and enemy fighters, and lost more than a few to both. But gradually, they began to chip away at the missile barrage, little by little, learning to use more efficient firing patterns to catch as many missiles and the Amalgam, as she dived, did her best to destroy the Mag Pulse Warheads, that were already falling, but she had something in mind, something...special...

The Amalgam concentrated on chasing one falling Mag Pulse War head in particular, focusing the vast some of her power in the Dark Side over it, even as she continued to shoot down other Missiles as targets of opportunity.

It would take her whole skill in magic, but she she changed unholy things, feeding on the death and suffering around her to channel her strength.

Slowly, the Mag Pulse warhead was corrupted by the Dark Side, increasing it's magnetism and power exponentially, twisted by Dark Magic.

It detonated in space...but it didn't end there, powerful orbs of dark side energy churned out as it detonated, about the size of a baseball...

These orbs began to draw other missiles and bombs and mag pulse warheads fired from the ships of Romul Saxon Romul Saxon , bunching them up around them and detonating them. Vastly smaller numbers of munitions made it to the surface, though the turbolasers came fast and hard, but the more the orbs of Dark Side Energy destroyed drawn in missiles, the more powerful they seemed to grow, reinforced by the mass suffering in space and on the planet. The atmosphere above the city where the Generator resided was super charged with the powerful, crushing energy of The Dark Side, twisting life energy at the Molecular Level, starting to absorb much of the effects of the Turbolaser energy, not stopping them, but lowering their strength. This atmospheric effects began to spread, slowly, from the edges of the city to outward. The effect so powerful it would be risking death for enemy Force Users to try and undo it, of at least it risked them severely exhausting themselves if not death.

It would not last... eventually, the Dark Side spell she had channeled through one of their own munitions would exhaust themselves, but it was what would happen once they did that was important. The Nuetralizer TIE's continued their deadly work, more getting shot down, but singular fighters starting to shoot down six or 007 in a few bursts...

Meanwhile.

One of the Two Remaining Witch's besides the Conjoined cursed as Runi Kuryida Runi Kuryida attacked the magical wards of the Generator.

Unfortunately for Runi, the Amalgam, Chief Sorceress of the Cult of The Brain Demon, had created a powerful effect of the Dark Side in the Atmosphere above them, super charging their cells.

As fast as her own magic attacks would drain the magical wards around the Generator, their chanting would counteract, defying her and her command of the Force, replenishing the magic cage extremely quickly, their own greatly increases strength competing with hers, reaching out with the Dark Side to attack her very spirit, trying to literally choke off her command, assaulting her mind as violently and perniciously as they could, fighting viciously past the power she used to channel her assault, also super charging the Dark Demons they had summoned, adding increased magical bite to their talons as they surged against the beast Rumi had set in place, swiping at every exposed part to try and do as much damage as possible even as the beast ripped them apart. House Io Citizens and Ultranauts alike began staying in the back, letting the zombies and demons occupy it's attention as much as possible while they too concentrated blaster and rocket fire on every exposed part. Other Demons still being released in the facility, now with greatly enhanced power, began swarming through every part of the interior, many Mandalorians drastically slowed by their spells (Which Runi still hadn't addressed) and were getting massacred.

One of the other Witches began manipulating the demon portals, using their increased Dark Side strength to feel out House Io members, telling them to enter the portals, which were torn wider as they got near them...

...and leading directly to the Generator room.

House Io citizens and Ultranauts poured into the main Generator room, and immediately poured overwhelming blasterfire at Rubi's head, careful not to accidentally hit the main Generators, which had quickly rebuilt most of their magical shielding, other Ultranauts poured in from Demon Portals close to behind the beast, along with Zombies and more demons and began to attack it relentlessly from behind like it was being attacked relentlessly from the front, bent on killing it. Some firing shotguns, others trying to set it ablaze, the demons and zombies surrounding it and relentlessly attacking.

The platoons she dropped the gravity surge on got badly surprised at first as three of their own were killed, but the rest managed to scramble back in time, opening fire on her with both their Radiation Blasters and shotguns, they too very careful not to hit the Generator. The Shaman was under severe threat now being attacked spiritually in a massive channelling of Dark Energies, the very air warping invisibly with suffering and hate, threatening to drown out the Manda of Runi as all that hate, all that death being inflicted on Panatha, seemed to coalesce and converge on this spot, this Generator facility.

Lightning arced from the portals now in addition to the naked monstrosities climbing out. They didn't harm House Io or EE, but instead tried to fry any Mandalorian that got near them. The whole facility was a horrific bloodbath on both sides, House Io citizens fighting to the bitter end against the Mandalorian enemy, viciously killing the Mandalorians who, even, slowed, even overwhelmed almost, killed them just as viciously.

A House Io Citizen spotted Thonn Rokkal Thonn Rokkal and tried to fire at the Incendiary grenade in his hand as well as him, while others at last got close to the area, but was dissuaded by the presence of Alessandra fighting
Sergeant Omen Sergeant Omen and Thonn and focused on the other Mandalorians, blasting them as fast as they could. The main Generators room was soon an abbatoir...

Multiple loaned A6knar medical dropships

Several assorted volunteer freighters and other vessels

Anashja Tal watched in absolute horror a Romul Saxon Romul Saxon and his fleet began bombarding the capital of Panatha with everything they had. This was not a war against the Sith, this was the barbaric extermination of civilians, everything she had feared about the blood hungry mandalorian enclave was coming to fruition.
"All ships, shields to maximum now!" She yelled to her command team, prepare to receive seriously wounded. "I want volunteers to take dropships into the killing zone and try to rescue as many civilians as we can." She adorned her helmet and fastened herself in to the command chair of the Tal'din. "Give me ship wide!" The comm opened "Crew of the Tal'din, this is Anashja, our ship will be entering the mandalorian fire zone in 4 minutes, if you do not wish to accompany us you have that time to reach the escape pods, this may be a one way trip and you will not be punished for leaving." Anashja knew her vod, they would not abandon their posts, but she would not fly them to their deaths without the opportunity to leave, or say goodbye to their loved ones. Anashja was saddened for her and her family, but she and her husband had said their goodbyes when they left.

She had one final message to send. " Romul Saxon Romul Saxon , what you are doing is monstrous, those are civilians. By acting like this you are worse than the Sith you claim to hate, at least they do not pretend to look for a better option while they slaughter innocents. I am taking my ship down to try and save some of your victims, if you fire upon me, you fire upon your own and simply prove the galaxy right that the Mandalorians would rather destroy everything than work for peace. Even the Ashlans avoid civilian casualties."

She cut the channel and took personal control of her medical corvette, plunging into the atmosphere, in two minutes she would find out whether the Mandalorian Enclave would attack their own in pursuit of their bloodlust, she sincerely hoped not, but was ready to die if it meant she might spare the lives of some innocents. Not a single Tal escape pod left before they arrived and now every atmospheric capable ship in her flotilla had taken her lead and was flying right toward the inevitable of fire.

Her enemy dodged the brazier and carved a swath through the legion of the dead, but Darth Vornskr did not seem spooked by his visceral performance. While the hunk of metal crashed into the undead and the phase blade slashed them open with abandon, the dead only seemed to crawl on, driven by their fury. Their severed limbs crawled across the floor and their severed heads made wicked faces to move themselves forward. All the while their eyes glowed with the red pinpricks of their cursed undeath.

As long as she stood; as long as the sacrificial fire of Vahl burned, the dead raged.

Andras rushed her, and Joycelyn answered in kind. The Phase blade and sithsword locked together, immediately Joycelyn suspected something was afoot. Mandalorians were a people of trickery, after all. As the blades clashed, Joycelyn wound her edge toward the phase blade to stop it, while stepping off his line of attack. His pressure was then easier to push to the side by winding her sword around the phase blade without losing contact. Panathan swordplay featured many similar scenarios.

And there came the trick. She recognised the motion of his hand from his previous move, and this time Vornskr's lower hand unfurled from the hilt and summoned the Force. She pressed back against the dart to jam it, like she once had done to a slugthrower. She aimed to either see the driving gas expend itself around the dart, or for the entire contraption to burst liks others did.

"The bell tolls for the Eternals."

She made a rapid motion with the sword, using her dominant left hand, winding the slightly curved tip past the phase blade and then swinging it down at his wrist with the aim of severing his hand. Zaudraka's wicked sharpness could sever a limb by its own weight, and even when held in only one of Joycelyn's hands the large blade had a truly fearsome cutting power.

"But so long as I remain, so does Panatha."

The bombs intensified in the distance, and the red attendant had now rushed over to the purple and pushed him up to a sitting stance. After applying something to his wounds, the red listened intently. She then looked to the purple, who nodded and leaned his head back. The red unsheathed a knife and muttered words under her breath before plunging her dark blade into his chest three times.

His face froze in agony, but she did not relent. Instead, she pried into his chest until she could seize his heart. Ruthlessly, she pulled it out and held it up while cutting a fine line into her own wrist. The twin streams of blood turned from red to oozing black as the heart combusted in her hand. The red attendant sacrificed the purple to cast a spell of protection upon the shrine.

If this was war, Volo had seen enough of it.

He may have lived a life of certainty that, when the call came for him to go to war, he would honour it. This was not that same life. In this day alone, his perception of what war was had changed more than a lifetime of living. On this day, he learnt one thing;

A battle was a struggle of nature, between life and death. But war? War was a struggle of life and death against nature. The battlegrounds he fought on fought against him, and there was not a moment of quiet.

Even when the duel dulled, the sounds of death, mayhem and destruction echoed against the backdrop. There was not a moment to breath, not a moment to rest, not a moment to prepare.

How then did he have the time, the peace of mind, to realise this?

How?

He did not know, and yet he did. He began to. It came as the increasing ringing sensation in his ears, the slow fade-away of silence into the sound of carnage. It came as his sight returned to his eyes, as the crumbling palace slowly fazed itself back into existence.

It came as Volo was once more aware of the immense weight upon his chest, of the cracked visor he was staring through, of the beat of his heart pounding against his skull like a boring machine. It came as the stabbing pain with every breath, the taste of blood and iron upon his tongue.

With a guttural roar through gritted teeth, his hands heaving against debris, Volo freed himself from the heaviest of the rubble; A small boulder of marble laid upon his chest. Using the same marble, he rolled onto his side and stifled a scream.

Volo's ribs were broken. He knew that. He didn't know how many. He didn't care. It didn't matter. He didn't even know how he'd gotten there on the floor.

It didn't matter.

It was barely a moment after he'd made decision that the Kurs'Alor found his own hands pushing himself up. There was some notification on his HUD, too cracked and too small to make out. He could guess by how the pain began to fade, how his strength began to return, that it was a stimulant.

He didn't care for specifics. They didn't matter.

All Volo cared for in that moment was formulating the best damned plan he had. His fingers fumbled deftly against his vambrace, his knees bent and his back angled itself. The jets of his phoenix sputtered, choking out smoke from the abuse they suffered being thrown against the floor again and again.

Volo took advantage of this time to reach down to his abdomen, fingers gripping the cold metal hilt of his Jetii'kad and ripping it free of it's leather bindings. Even so, his other hand found its way to his disruptor pistol, yanking it free of its holster as his jetpack finally sputtered into life.

Suddenly, he was moving. Charging. Rising. Like a Phoenix. He kept the arm holding his pistol back and by his side, his other arm curled around the base of his helmet, bracing. His trajectory was aimed directly at the Sith Lord, micro-adjusting constantly to stay on target with the beast of a man's upper portion.

Volo was aiming to tackle the man from the shoulders and up. He was vaguely aware of one of his Vod doing the same, albeit aimed lower. All of his willpower was directed towards remaining undetected, his very life hidden away from the prying eyes of the Force. Hidden in all but sight.

Should he make contact with the Dark Lord, the arm held out ahead of him would wrap around the beast's neck, using it as a handle to stop the force of his jetpack carrying him forward, and his other hand would slam forward, seemingly trying to muzzlestrike the Sith with his disruptor, trigger pulling all the same to unleash two disruptor bolts at point-blank range, directly into the former Emperor's face.

Should he fail to make contact with the Dark Lord, Volo would invert the trajectory of his jetpack and use it to launch himself forward from but a few meters away. Once more he aimed for the Dark Lord's head, this time however, with a closed fist holding a lightsaber hilt. When he was but a second away from impact, he'd hit the ignition of the saber as a red blade hissed into life, aimed to make a trophy of the Sith's head.

Were his blows to miss, he'd deactivate his jetpack fully, boots partially sliding against the marble as he turned; red saber held firm as he advanced on the Dark Lord; fuelled by the pain of every movement and anger against a man who had shown him so little regard as to send his sword alone to fight him.

Assuming he made it to the Dark Lord, he'd give the beast a piece of his (by this point) barely-functional mind, unleashing a savage array of wild strikes from seemingly every direction with a speed most certainly unnatural. Volo had a certain aura around him, one not dissimilar to the Dark Lord he seemed so intent on slaughtering. Something Dark, and something powerful.

To a Force User, it would be clear that Volo was calling upon the Force. The
Dark Side.

Anger and hate flashed through his mind as he watched Rath Nihro Rath Nihro make quick work of the last two of his squad. A single man, taking down his allies. His friends. His squad. But he kept his focus, kept his patience. There was a reason this monster could take them all down. They were skilled, but the Force was a mystical, broken power that made men into gods. Or, close to gods at least.

All it took was one well placed shot.

The heavy charric Eliz had was replaced instead by the Verpine pistol. He held the light weapon in both hands, lifting up the sights, preparing to fire. Just as the man started to speak, to gloat or whatever it was he felt he needed to do, the half Chiss squeezed his trigger.

Boom.

lLcXg5L.png

What happened? The question lingered in the back of Eliz's mind as he regained consciousness. Or was it consciousness? Everything felt.. Numb. Number than what he was used to from the stims in his suit. He blinked his eyes- No, he couldn't blink? He raised a hand- no, he couldn't do that either. There was a brief frustration there. Was he pinned? The realization came slow. He could still hear, barely. The subtle beep of a heartbeat in his hud. Danger. Eliz recognized the sound. The others? Were they dying?

If only his blasted hud would light up so he could see what was happening. The beeping was growing more dim. Distant. Someone was dying. Panic filled his mind as he willed himself to move, to reach a hand up. To find who was still alive, who still needed his help. The realization came slow.

As the beeping continued to dim, to slow, it finally hit him. He couldn't move, cause he had nothing to move. Couldn't see, because he had nothing to see. The beeping he was hearing wasn't even something he could hear. A figment, an echo in his mind as it desperately clung to life.

Chi-

The beeping ceased.

Then, a shell hit Echo and exploded in fire and smoke. Echo stumbled from the force of the explosion, trying to regain his balance. Eventually, he managed to regain his balance, and he looked around, scanning the surrounding area. Luckily, his armor held up against the shell, only causing minimal damage to his outer armor. Through the smoke, he saw a hostile tank further down the street, aiming at him. Echo gave another loud, ground-shaking roar from his speakers, the sound echoing out. Then, he rushed forward towards the tank, his footsteps shaking the ground as he sprinted at the tank.

Once he was close enough, Echo lunged at the tank, slamming into it and grappling it with his hands. He grabbed the tank, and with his extreme strength, he lifted the tank up, holding it up. Then, holding it on either side with his hands, he began to pull. The sound of metal being pulled apart groaned out, the screeching and groaning echoing out. Then, with a loud SCREECH, Echo tore the tank apart, ripping it open like a tin can. Then, he threw the two pieces to the ground with immense force, creating a loud THUMP. Then, he reached in, and grabbed the crew, crushing them quickly, blood splattering the inside of the ruined tank. They never even stood a chance

Once all of the crew were disposed of, he stood back up, scanning around. Echo gave another roar in triumph, this one even louder than the last. It served as a warning to any hostiles nearby. They could throw all they want at Echo, but he would make sure that they would pay dearly. Even if they managed to take him down, he would make sure to take down as many of them as possible.

Time for the hunt.

"It's not Dimas fault! Stupidface cheated!"

TEX tilted the droid's head. So, it was intelligent. And apparently its name was Dima. Interesting, TEX had no idea what she even was, but at least it was sapient and capable of intelligent thought.

"And yes, this one is super big brain and very sweet like honey!

TEX scoffed. "Sweet like honey huh? You just tore these people up. Pretty sure people 'sweet like honey' don't do that." He replied sarcastically.

DON'T. BE. SO. RUDE! Or Dima will become sour~"

TEX put his hands up in defense. "Okay, okay. I apologize. Just don't get mad." He said. He really didn't want to experience the same treatment the people Dima just killed went through. Even if he was in a droid body, he really didn't want to experience it first hand. She was kinda terrifying, honestly.

"We go now Vod, Cousins need these ones!"

TEX nodded. Well, at least she was on their side. Before he could respond, she launched high up into the air, sticking to the side of a building. TEX watched in amazement and shock. What in the hell was she?

"No arguing! Dima has spoken!"

TEX watched as she launched off again, headed in the direction of the generator complex. TEX sighed. So, it was going to be one of those days. Well, best to get to work. TEX began sprinting after her, trying to keep up with her as she moved quickly through the city. Kark... she was a fast one. He continued to follow after her, heading for the generator complex.

Soon, they reached the generator complex. All around it, the battle was raging all around, and it didn't seem to be ending soon. Running through the crossfire, TEX ran for the generator complex. He shot down a few Ultranaughts, before eventually making it inside. Once he was inside, he saw some Mandalorians, and moved towards them, working to regroup. Then, suddenly, he saw DIMA slam in through the window close by, tumbling to the ground.

"Ow! Dima is so terrible at landing~"

"Yes, indeed. I've seen a Tusken Raider pull off a better landing." He replied jokingly.

Then, suddenly, the Mandalorians fired at Dima, telling her to surrender. TEX simply watched as the situation unfolded, as Dima tried to tell them that she was on their side and that she wasn't a monster. One of the Mandalorians seemed to recognize her, before getting shot down by another droid. She seemed to go into a rage.

"Oh boy, now you've done it..." TEX sighed.

Then, from another hallway, TEX got shot. He turned, and saw a platoon of Ultranaughts running towards him, firing. TEX moved behind a crate, taking cover. Peeking up, he returned fire, taking down two Ultranaughts, before crouching back down. The rest of the Ultranaughts dug in, taking cover, before firing back at TEX's position. Well this was a bummer...

"Hey, uh, their reinforcements are here!" He said over the commlink. "I'll try to hold them off, but whatever you want to do, I advise you do it quickly!" Then, he peeked back up, and fired on the Ultranaught reinforcements.

This sure was a fun day...

The Empress had no time left to carry out the attack, instead pulling all four blades together with telekinetics to herself, immediately placing the daggers back in the "holsters" on the side of the armour, and the swords were in her hands again. Eventually those also got into the sheaths on her back. The three Mandalorians, from all directions, tore and mauled the former Sith emperor. Like the hyenas who were just waiting for their victim to get hurt and then they started tearing them apart. However, the opponent was still very dangerous. That's why she didn't move. Mainly because of the kind of attacks that had taken place, she wouldn’t have come close to the man either.

Or if she did, the Mandalorians or Carnifex would have swept her away. However, when she was just planning to move, the explosions took place, and the ceiling and floor cracked. In addition, MANIAC also sent her data that appeared on the woman's retina. A Basilisk crashed into the building, causing this current problem. In addition, one of the Mandalorian fleets has set off towards the capital and its edge is already being bombed. Based on the data and images received, it was not difficult to guess what would happen and what they were prepared to do. War crime.

"Ni haa'taylir te Mando adate cuyir su nayc hibirar. Vaabir gar copad at kyr'amur te darjetii while gar cuyir sa dush sa val cuyir?" she asked in Mando'a, without any emotion. ("I see the Mandalorian people are still not learning. Do you want to kill the Sith while you are as bad as they are?" - translation)

<< This is L'lerim to all Eternal Imperial ships and troops! Part of the Mandalorian fleet attacked the capital. Do everything you can to prevent the destruction of the capital and bring civilians to safety! >> she ordered as she watched how the three men attacked the Butcher king again.

The Empress hadn't moved yet, just enough so that the ground wouldn't swallow her or the debris falling from the ceiling wouldn't fall on her. The moment has not yet come. She gathered strength and she finally reached out her hand and began to make an elegant downward motion. Anyone who was a Force user or Force sensitive could feel what she was doing, she had just created a rift to the Netherworld. For her, it was an ordinary thing, as Ingrid was part of Netherworld, spending much more time there than in Realspace, especially after defeating Omni. She was thirty-seven years old then, and now nearly three hundred and fifty. Many time passed for her while in the Realspace only half a year..

As the rift grew larger, a rift in the air occurred near the Sith Lord and the three Mandalorians. The palace slowly collapsed anyway, so she had to flee in some way. There it was her realm as the woman was part of the Netherworld. On the other side, a darker part was visible, with lava. She didn’t have time to determine exactly where to go. The rift opened to what was closest to their current point, just in the Nether.

"I'm sorry gentlemen, but that would be too easy and Carnifex would get what he wants." she said.

She wasn't sure, but she had a feeling the man would be able to move to another body if they killed his body now. And if the Butcher King has to die, it should happen so that he cannot move to another body. She swung forward, then concentrated for a short time and teleported. Ingrid appeared exactly among the company and the momentum carried her on. Her arms twisted around Carnifex's waist, then she tried to swing further, but now with the man. She had a feeling the Mandalorians were trying to stop her from doing this. So she tried to teleport again, but this time with the Sith Lord, just a short one.

If this was successful, they were both on the other side of the rift after the teleportation, in the Netherworld, and the rift began to close, as they did not "live" for long. However, it started to close pretty slowly but the three Mandalorians could easily come after them to the Netherworld if they wanted to. Whatever happened, she looked at the Butcher King.

"It's over, Lord Carnifex, surrender and face your sins, you cannot win in this place, this is my world."

//OOC: Carnifex allowed Ingrid to kidnap him, so those moves were with his consent.//

What was at first considered to be a viable method to counter the presence of the basilisk war droids backfired. A pair of basilisks were brought down via direct hits from the AA batteries, and from a direct hit from a main battle tank. Yet, the reactor contained within the droids was unaccounted for almost entirely. When it became clear the danger that everyone was in, largely from the massive radiation levels emitting from the damaged core, it was too late for those near the back of the formation to escape the devestation, including the company commander himself.

An entire city block was reduced to rubble in an instant, the cries of pain and death overwhelmed by the sheer ferocity of the explosion. The commander's tank turned into a burnt out husk, and the nearby ultranaut squads were vaporized from the explosion. The assault from the remaining basilisks continued on, strafing runs and all as the remaining basilisks ducked low to find cover from the AA batteries. The flak bombardment continued to keep them low and inhibit their ability to move around. Heavy weapons teams joined with those of Spartan Platoon as they loosed anti-tank missile ordinance at what basilisks remained. The last lykos erupted from the return fire of the commandeered main battle tank, and when it rounded itself to meet the flanking battle tanks coming to the side, it’s opening shot sent against the pair richocheted off the sloped frontal armor. Knowing the pair of tanks had it outnumbered, they continued their advance, peppering the buildings the commandeered tank was attempting to use with shells to leave her open while the other tank alternated fire to try and hit the tank itself.

The heavy weapons team attempted to keep up the pressure on the Mandalorians on the walls, with supporting squads of ultranauts quickly rising to the occasion and opening fire upon the Mando squad attempting to assault them, immediately opening fire to disrupt their assault so as to spare the worst of it upon the heavy team.

The charge against the front of the complex was in full swing as the explosion occurred, and they were thankfully too far ahead to be disrupted by the explosion. The tanks leading the charge barrelled through the front gate, with one successfully immobilized by the missile fire prior to impact. Those who pressed on opened fire with main cannon and repeater both, dozens of veteran ghost ultranauts pushing forward to support the advance; wielding scatterguns and pistols as they pushed through.

The auxiliary company commander put the call in for additional air support from what basilisks remained in the air. The second wave of ultranauts and supporting mechanized units sprang into action, including the same complements of battle tanks and AUVs, adding several KV-1451 Viper Air Defense Vehicles hastily scrounged together upon notice of basilisks in the air. The need for retaking and securing the facility grew evermore urgent as the Mandalorian fleet loomed overhead and began their bombing run on the city. Its defenders were teetering on the brink of losing it all, so the gloves were coming off.

As the Mandalorian Fleet eased into position, heavier ordnance throughout the city and surrounding countryside came to life - heavy turbo lasers, Ripple Pulse Cannon emplacements, cruise missiles, and even four Malmoural Artillery Cannon Emplacements unleashed upon the Mandalorian fleet hovering overhead. As the bombing run commenced, several turbolaser batteries fell victim to the opening barrage before the majority of the city’s flak cannons redirected to intercept the bombs dropping upon it.

Overall, the end appeared all but certain as the city desperately clung to life. As it did so, hope began to wane. Despite the grimness which fell, Baron Ström’s voice replaced the voice of the anonymous speaker spouting propaganda moments earlier:
”Citizens of Panatha, this is Field Marshal Reinhardt Ström - please, hear me now.”

“Our city is about to be bombarded. Whatever your allegiances, seek shelter now. Too many lives have been lost to these terrorist who have descended upon this world unprovoked. Cease this madness if you wish to see the next day! Anyone who turns in a Mandalorian invader either alive or dead will be given 10,000 credits and amnesty for all crimes, signed by myself personally.”

The voice cut out, but the words hung in the air. Desperate times called for truly desperate measures.

Sophia ended up running through a dust cloud from an explosion. She coughed as she rolled through what was left of the door her lightsaber active and coming face to face with Lil and another person. It appeared to be an enemy. She had heard voices from before, though now her rings were ringing from the explosion. She really needed to get a fancy suit like Lil. Since everyone was chatting, she figured she would join in and try to resolve this peacefully. "Last I checked we were all free... now put down your weapons and give yourself up and no one has to die. I mean you could even just turn around and run away. Everyone still free and no one dies." Granted she really wasn't sure what anyone was doing here. last she checked they were dealing with rebels, now Mandalorians were invading. "Lil, why do we always end up in fights when I follow you." She coughed some more, the dust getting to her. She kept herself at the ready with her lightsaber between herself and this strange woman who earlier had been chanting something.
