The smell of ash and cinder. The muddled feeling in your lungs. The burning sensation on your skin. The watering of the eyes. All of these plagued Iviroa as she desperately crawled away from the flaming wreckage of her once pristine ship torn asunder by a force she has yet to understand. She still vividly remembered the flashing red lights as all her ships controls were muted followed by the blinding light that hurt her eyes as she was ripped from hyperspace and towards a world not recognizable on a star chart. The air felt warm and humid and the dirt beneath her body felt dry and course. The yellow sun above her head shone almost as brightly as the inferno behind her as she inched forward out of the massive crater created by her crashed vessel. As Iviroa reached the apex of the crater she looked over the side of the rubble her mouth widening into a beaming smile as she laid eyes on miles and miles of tall grass insects and other small wildlife hiding just between the blades.
Tumbling down the scored incline Iviroa found herself laying in the grass her mind at peace yet her body crying out in anguish. Her legs had gone entirely offline and her arms were in no better shape. Her face and neck were covered in dust and other burn marks and judging from the aching in her torso she broke more than a few ribs. If this were a desert or ocean world she would have been screwed but fortunately, she was captured by what seemed to be a savannah world abundant with life. Ignoring the intense pain in her arm Iviroa reached out towards a single blade of grass and touched it with her fingertips a surge of warmth and comfort sluggishly spreading through her body. Mmmmm...That's better. She moaned to herself.
Three Hours Later...
She was making good time, the feeling of life grew stronger the farther she went west faint whispers and emotions reaching her ears every now and again. She should have been overjoyed but the Mistress couldn't muster even a drop of happiness as she approached the small antique town sitting just over the horizon. Her black leather jacket now tied around her waist the woman plopped down on the soil and removed her ill-fitting brown leather boot wiggling her now exposed toes. A small green bud grew out of one of her toenails bringing a smile to her face as she tenderly stroked it with her finger careful not to stunt its growth. "Your growing in nicely aren't you little one?" The small pod seemed to like this as it swayed with the coming of the wind. "Oh your too kind!" The Bud this time swayed right before being still. For seemingly no reason Iviroa became flushed coyly covering her face with her shirt. "I-I well don't you have a way with words! Tell you what: Once your a full-grown plant Ill see what I can do." Carefully Iviroa slipped her boot back on careful not to crush the life that had been so kind to her.
Two Hours Later...
Alone and frightened Iviroa sat in the corner of a dark alleyway hidden behind a dumpster. It smelled terrible the plant life present was very unfriendly but like in the past the dark hid Iviroa, it comforted her told her things like It'll be alright or It's not your fault...
Pales faced. Beady-eyed. Unresponsive and a pulse so faint that if this were a hospital they would have called the time. The town ALL of them were stuck in this state, something did this to them...and it wasn't recent. When she looked through the town she saw wood rot and flora beginning to take root as well as several animal dens stocked with food from the local markets.
If that wasn't weird enough the news stations were even worse. 746 BBY! That's almost 100 years old! These people should have died they should be less than dead...but they weren't and it was horrifying.
To value life so much and see it perverted in this way sickened Iviroa to a degree even she failed to recognize. Her eyes felt heavy and a tear regrettably escaped down her cheek...then another and two more before she gave In and started silently bawling her resistance to the disturbing completely overwhelmed.
