Corporate Sponsorship - What is it?
Glad you asked.
My name is Sidon Eshe, and I am the leader of the Bounty Hunters' Guild. My purpose today is to bring to your attention the potential and possibilities with a program the Guild will be putting forward, thanks to our old leader Ar'ekk. He paved the way, but today I'll take the steps to bring that concept into a reality. In the following data, you'll be given a range of information on some business opportunities. Not one to beat around the rancor, let's get right into it:
Q: What is a Corporate Sponsorship?
A: A corporate sponsorship is an incentive package provided by a Company to a Bounty Hunter for the mutual benefit of both parties. By having a corporation sponsor a Hunter or Hunters of their choice, they are ensuring that your brand of wares are being displayed in very real, very practical scenarios. And when your sponsored Hunter brings in that contract, it was because your wares helped him/her do that.
Q: What sort of benefits would a Bounty Hunter get from a Corporate Sponsorship?
A: It depends on the sponsorship program as outlined by the Company. No sponsorship program will be the same, but the Guild will be maintaining a very loose base line in the form of the template, which can be found here, for those interested enough to look.
Q: What sort of benefits would a Company get from a Corporate Sponsorship?
A: Advertisement, mainly. Elevating your Bounty Hunter to the highest of prestige will make him renown throughout the Galaxy's Factions and idealized by all other Bounty Hunters. Bounty Hunters are elite fighters - most items created for them may also be purchased by Major Factions and other parties. However, depending on your sponsorship package, you may also take some dough back home depending on how active your Bounty Hunter is and how many Bounties he's collected.
How? As the sponsor, you maintain a percentage of the contract profit - as outlined by you - and the Hunter, in return for receiving less of a cut, is remunerated by using your wares; which in turn advertise their usefulness and effectiveness in the field. It's a win-win-win.
Q: What if a bounty is posted for a sponsor, or a member of a corporate entity that is a sponsor?
A: Well, this is unfortunately where things get hazy. While being neutral is our trade, we do maintain equal rights for any client to order a contract. That said, the Guild always bases contracts on legal merit. For example, if someone murdered your friend, and got away with it, we would accept that contract because the law was broken; but if you just don't like them or want them out of the competition, then that isn't legal merit. So it's the same with our corporate sponsors who have contracts taken out on them - 'because they are my enemy' is not a valid cause, and would be denied; but if a sponsor broke legal merit, and stole or assassinated or destroyed public property, we would consider accepting the contract. We would also hope that the sponsor wouldn't hold it against us, as they are on the wrong instance of the legal system in this case.
Basically: Don't break the law, and we won't accept a contract against you or your colleagues.
Q: What would one of these sponsorships look like?
A: Glad you asked. Here's an example of a sponsor who provided a deal, as well as a basic starting kit for all sponsored Hunters who signed on.
So the benefit here is that: 1. The Hunter has corporate backing to provide some great wares; 2. The wares are being used, visible for all to see; 3. Money is being made by both sides; and 4. The return on investment is the proof of use your wares are providing, resulting in more customer sales.
