Guess I should clarify it better. I'm already part of the Bounty Hunters' Guild. I'm wondering though if it is still active since there doesn't seem to be much activity.

We're still active, there are bounties you can pursue, I just can't check its forums as often as I could because of my RL work.
That said I would recommend that you work with the guild and as an independent contractor, some bounties you'll find through the Guild, others you'll find outside of it.
