Breaking Barriers

In Umbris Potestas Est
Mandalore

It was Vanessa's time to relax after more diplomacy with Mandalore. She was sitting at a café, thinking about what to do. There wasn't exactly a lot of entertainment around here. Not even someone to hug, given how poorly the meeting had gone with her getting alcoholic and whatnot. All she needed now was the opportunity to interact with something small. Something precious.

Something like [member="Nicole Sarah Feanor"].

Yes, well. This short person sat elsewhere in this cafe nearby the Sith, but not too close towards her. Why was she here? To see the sites of course, but not to get too involved in anything here. At this moment, she's merely sipping on her drink staring outwards towards seemingly nothing. Perhaps she is just pondering on what she should be doing right about now. Or what she has learned from her time here. She soon puts her glass back down on the table and a soft yawn escapes her lips.

Vanessa paused for a moment, thinking about something, when she felt it. The sign of someone who was Force Sensitive. This could only mean one thing. She needed to be ready for a conflict. Slowly she scanned around until she looked at [member="Nicole Sarah Feanor"], a smile on her face. She was on to the girl now. On to her like bees to honey. of course, she didn't know she was the daughter of her rival, or a relative of some sort, but she would find out soon.

Very soon.

Again, she seemed to not be paying attention to her surroundings. Though, the feeling of a force user did relieve her of some boredom and was brought up to her attention. However, she neglected to act upon it as no one was allowed to use any-kind of space magic here. Another yawn. Another lost train of thought. Perhaps she should just rest her eyes here. Yes. Maybe. She soon leans back on her chair, and moves her head upwards to face the ceiling. Her eyes soon begin to close and she's lost in thoughts again.

Vanessa would come over and sit next to the Feanor. "Are you okay?" She said. "You look like you need a place to rest." She thought about the best way to approach the situation, while still being prepared for potential future endeavours. "I have a place at the embassy you can sleep at, if need be." The poor girl looked absolutely burned out. It saddened Vanessa's heart to see how tired she was, though it was adorable.

Hearing footsteps grow near to her, those eyes opened back up and her head turned to look at [member="Vanessa Vantai"]. "It is rather polite to ask if you can sit down, before actually sitting down." She stated in a rather annoyed mood. "I'm not that tired. Just needing a small rest." She stared at her and eyed her from head to toe getting a nice picture of who is sitting next to her and what she looked like. "And just what Embassy is this might I ask?" Her tone returned to a more gentle one, but a small hint of annoyance was there. Perhaps she wanted to be left alone.

"Oh. Well, I'm sorry. You looked exhausted, to say the least, and I know from experience a chair isn't the most comfortable place to sleep." She said. "Excuse me for not introducing myself... I'm Vanessa Vantai, the Sith ambassador to the Mandalorians. A pleasure to meet you. I was offering you a room at the Sith embassy - we don't have that many staff, and I could always let you sleep in one room short term. What's your name?" She asked, curious as to who she was dealing with.

"No. Its not. Though taking a small rest off of your feet and closing your eyes for just a few moments makes it rather enjoyable." She keeps her gaze on the woman and lets her speak. Wait. Sith. She said Sith. Maybe that was a fluke. Clearly a Sith wouldn't be sitting here right? Then it was said again. Her right hand twitched ever so slightly and her heart begins to race. Her breathing slightly hastens up and the woman goes dead silent not responding to [member="Vanessa Vantai"]. Its been a very long time since she's been around anyone of the sort. How was she to react? Should she ease out in a calmly manner? Should she freak out? Or just accept this. Only Nicole knows how she's going to react to such.

“Um... are you okay?” She asked, waving a hand in front of the woman’s face. The freezing up was a bit concerning to say the least, and Vanessa was curious as to whether there was anything she could do to help the woman. “I can help you get to a doctor’s office if need be.” She said. This was extremely worrisome to say the least.

Her voice started to get a bit shaky and worrisome. "No, I'm. I'm fine. Just. Just surprised. Yes. Surprised." Was she? Another word could explain how she is feeling right now, but she dare not speak it allowed. No. That would give some form of weakness. Her face turned to face away from her now, and her left arm moved to hold onto her right elbow in some attempt to calm herself down. Her mouth opens up to speak again, but instead she just bit down on her lower lip.

“Surprised? You’re acting like you’ve seen a ghost.” She said. In a way, Vanessa was a ghost, being able to transfer her essence into a variety of different vessels, but she had hardly used that ability in decades, instead keeping herself “loyal” to the body she was now in. “Seriously, Let me help you.” She got up and came over, offering Sarah a hand in order to help her up from her seat so they could get to a medic.

"N-No. I'm fine. H-Honest." She calmly managed to speak out. "J-just I haven't met a Sith who... was rather upfront about who-who-who they were. Yeah. That's it." Her head turned to stare at [member="Vanessa Vantai"] yet again, and the true expression was seen. The short woman was terrified. Was it from the stories she heard about the Sith? Maybe. Yet she did not take the hand and remained rather still. "S-So Yes, I'm. I'm fine. D-Don't worry about it."

"You're stuttering." She said, taking a hand and gently patting Sarah on the head. "It's okay. Calm down." She continued patting the girl's head. "I can feel your fear. It's alright. I promise I'm not going to harm you or do anything that could hurt you. But you must calm down and relax. If you don't, you'll never be able to get the help you need." This was so sad to see - someone who was absolutely in terror at her just because she was a Sith. They weren't enemies, and she wasn't trying to kill Vanessa. There was no reason for her to instigate such fear.

The headpatting would hopefully help.

Maybe. Maybe not. She flinched at the first pats unsure as to what the woman was intending on doing to her. She only allowed such out of fear. As Nicole moved to speak, she instead, turned her head to face the other way and moved a hand towards her lips to cough. Seems shes having a coughing fit right now. "Nng..." She groaned slightly after this little fit. "That's. T-That's what... he said too." Still, fear was in her voice and she didn't seem to be calming down. With a rather shaky hand, she moves over to get her cup and slowly sips from it again, only to place it back down.

Vanessa looked down and raised an eyebrow. “What who said?” She thought for a moment - the woman could barely drink her drink without spilling it. “It’s okay.” She said reassuringly. “Not going to of anything to you. Please, can you trust that?” She frowned - there had been many reactions she had gotten over her life, but this? This was definitely the strangest of them by far. “I’m positive you need some help.” She stopped patting the woman’s head and motioned to her. “Get up and let’s go to the medical center.”

Hopefully they would have something that could help this poor girl.

"N-Nevermind him." Her gaze meets the wall in front of them and she simply continues to stare in that direction. She didn't even notice that the head pats stopped. "I-I don't, need... medical help. I, am just, just, just traumatized by the past few en-encounters with the Sith." She didn't seem to want to move an inch from her seat. "I, I'm pretty sure you've... you've had some bad encounters b-before with certain types of, of people that you just don't, don't want to be around." Once more she lifts her cup up to drink from it only to realize its empty now and a frown appears on her lips.

“Sounds like you need a therapist.” She said, frowning. Vanessa had experienced traumatic events, certainly, but the trauma had hardened her to the point that she was no longer really effected by anything. A sigh came from her lips as she leaned over and simply gave the woman another headpat. “I’m sorry. What happened with regards to your situation with the Sith? I want to make it up to you, so you can look at us in a positive light and we can perhaps be friends with each other.” After all, another part in the fight against the Jedi was finding the appropriate associates to assist. And here was something so small and precious that she could hardly resist. She needed to find what the woman’s name was.

“You know, I never caught your name.”

"Therapy? I, I, I tried that. Didn't work o-out." She flinched at this next headpat and turned back to face the woman. "I, I, I don't want to speak of it. The man who, did d-did this is out o-of my life. B-But the sc-scar remains." Her hands ball up into a fist, but soon enough her hands return to a normal posture. Seems some anger or hatred of this man is still on her mind. "I didn't see him die, but I hope, I just hope he suffered for every second of his last. Dying. Breath." She spoke confidently in those last few words. A hint of anger was there and her stuttering stopped momentarily. "I, I know its, Its dumb for a, a dead man to keep me feared of, of the Sith, but It, it just. I, can't quite explain it."

"Oh. Ah, right. M-My name." Surely [member="Vanessa Vantai"] wouldn't know of her sister, right? "N-Nicole Feanor."

"There there, let it out..." She said, continuing the pats. "So a Sith was responsible for tormenting you to a point that you stutter and shake when a Sith is within physical proximity of you? That's terrible." She said. "Clearly he didn't deserve to have you as a student - I'm guessing he wanted you to be his apprentice, or something along those lines? Bastard clearly did a terrible job if you're like this." She frowned, thinking over what there really was to do. "I'm sorry that you went through that, and moreso, I'm sorry a member of the Sith Empire was responsible for having done this to you. I'm more than willing to help make it up to you."

But the last line caught her. "Nicole... Feanor?" She said inquisitively. "I'm going to go ahead and make an educated guess - you're related to Alexandra Feanor somehow?"

She moved her head down to stare at the table and let the woman speak. Yes, that is true. Just speaking about the events caused them to play back in her mind. Yet, she overcame those years and managed to survive somehow. Her hands clinched up into a fist yet again. Her voice stutters, but in a rather angered tone. "If, If, If you plan, o-on bringing me back there, I, I will have, to decline. By force i-if necessary. I, do not want, t-that, that hell. E-ever... ever again." And she gave the woman a death stare. Or well, as much as one as a rather terrified woman could give.

Her glare ended at the mention of her sister's name. Well, darn. Maybe this is a good thing? "Yes, Yes, she's m-my sister. Why?"
