Breaking Barriers

Neyana

Exiled Princess of Kesh
Nicole listens in to what Vanessa is saying and aimlessly nods her head. During their walk, she remained rather quiet and lets her superior speak. It felt wrong to be around this woman, but she did need to get over her fear of the Sith. Once at the hotel, Nicole wandered inside. "Alright, I'll be out in a moment then." And she disappears for a few moments, only to return. "On second thought, while don't you help me get my things?"

"I'd be glad to." Vanessa would head inside with Nicole and help her grab whatever her belongings her, assisting her in packing them if need be, and if not, getting the luggage together and ready to be moved on the cart out to the curb. Once all the luggage was situated, they would head out and carry the luggage over to the embassy. If Nicole wanted, Vanessa would get a speeder to load the bags into, making their sojourn there much easier.

"You've never been to an embassy before, have you?"

Well, there was one slight problem with helping out Nicole. Once Vanessa had entered the room Nicole was staying in, she shuts the door and moved over to punch Vanessa. She aimed for her face. "And this is for killing Alex." She spoke out, before moving over to pack up her things. Well. At least she felt a lot better for doing that. Her luggage wasn't that large really. Just a few bags nothing too big or heavy to drag or carry around. The girl knew how to pack light.

Now, unless Vanessa did anything else, the packaging would be rather uneventful and they'd make it outside. "No, I have not been in an Embassy before, as far as I can remember."

Vanessa would, upon hearing the door turn, attempt to ask why Nicole had shut the door they were to be taking luggage. A hand came up, catching the fist within its grasp as Nicole swung. Vanessa gave no indication of frustration at what Nicole had done, but her face was a pure expression of disappointment. “Don’t do that again.” They would continue to pack up, assuming no more swings were made.

Once outside and the moment had subsided, they would carry on. “The embassy is a nice enough place. We’ll get you situated in a room there for a couple of days while I settle Mandalorian business, then we’ll head out to talk with some of the First Order schismic factions.”

She did not swing again. No. Her point was clear though, she was still rather furious over what Vanessa did to Alex. No matter, no other interruptions would occur. "If you stop harming my sister, maybe I won't attempt that again." She spoke out. Yes, the anger is still fresh on her mind even if it occurred in the past.

"I thought your business here was over and you were leaving today." Nicole stated heading inside the speeder, moving to sit in the back of it. "How far is the embassy from here anyway?"

“Certainly. After your sister stops trying to kill me and destroy the Empire I have helped to create.” She smiled. With that, they would get everything in the speeder and head off. “I was, but there are some more things I have to take care of. You’ll stay at the embassy and get acquainted with my staff, then we’ll be off.” She smiled, thinking for a moment as to what else could be done.

“”It’s not that far, thankfully.”

"And those things would be?" She perks a brow ever so slightly. Well, hopefully Vanessa and Alex stops fighting one another. Or at least come to terms as to have a mutual agreement to not kill or capture the other person, but alas plans always change. "I was fine with staying at my hotel until you ask for me to come. W-who knows what those other people might do to me while you aren't there." And she's stuttering again. Grand. Perhaps this was a terrible decision after all.

“Some logistics issues.” She said. Those were always the biggest ones. In particular Vanessa needed to determine how much of the Maldrood’s fleet allotment was, at least temporarily, to be used to support the Mandalorians in the event of conflict with an antagonistic power. Having such fleet units would allow Imperial naval officers and crew to gain experience in combat environments in the otherwise placid environment, though she expected some had gained great skill thanks to the Battle of Panatha, and Eshan as well.

In response to Nicole’s warnings, Vanessa merely patted her on the head. “It’ll be okay. I promise. You have my protection, and in the diplomatic system, my protection is what’s most important.”

"Logistics?" She had to question it. The topic wasn't foreign to her, but just knowing about the problems and issues that it comes with is rather unique. Usually the problem lies with communication issues. Those are always fun to hear about. Still, it wasn't really any part of her business to know, as far as she knows, no one is at war with one another so having such issues now wouldn't be too bad of a problem.

She flinched at the head pats and frowns heavily. "Can you stop doing that? I'm not a pet." And she began to cough again.

“That’s the best way to put it, yes.” She said. Logistics were always an issue with the Mandalorians, especially when it came to getting actual lasting diplomatic ties solidified with them. they had still yet to acquire any pieces of equipment from the Sith, thereby unifying their military trade. Such was quite frustrating given Vanessa was doing what she could.

In response, she stopped. “I’m sorry, but you’re just so small and so precious. It’s honestly adorable. You are, that is.” She smiled.

Nicole gave out a bit of a sigh and turns to just watch the buildings and other speeders go on by. For the moment, she wished to be lost in her thoughts and didn't want to be interrupted. Logistics are finicky. At least the headpats stopped. Once more, she coughed and kept staring outwards towards how fast they were going. "You think I'm adorable because I'm short. That's, that's honestly a new one."

“Well, that’s a part of it.” She said. “You just have an overall adorable appearance.” She smiled. “It’s very wholesome and brings out the rare warm feelings from my often cold and sealed-off heart.” Such was a frank explanation as they kept going, eventually arriving at the venue.

“So we’re here.” She said. “Let me help you get unloaded.”

"Well, that's good to know that Sith feel kindness." Her voice, however, was not sounding that calm or kind. Yes, she resents the Sith for what they did to her family, and her own well-being. Hearing this is definitely uncommon, but from how [member="Vanessa Vantai"] acted towards the small girl does not repair or change her opinion about them.

Once they arrived, Nicole got out of the speeder and moved to gather her things. "I can do it."

"We're not some kind of overarching evil like you've been led - sorry... like the one who mastered you previously was. I would have to consider myself an average person who merely is in a position of greater power than her contemporary ordinary citizens." It was a tad frustrating, but she did understand the rationale behind why Nicole was so antsy about her. "So of course I'm willing to express my kinder side occasionally. After all, fear only keeps you loyalty for as long as you leverage power over others. It is through persuasion, through building relationships that one gains loyal and devoted followers. Ones that will stick with you even once your power is gone." She replied. "I still have supporters from the last Empire among my flagship's crew."

Vanessa shrugged in response to Nicole as they arrived. If she wanted to take the burden herself, who was Vanessa to oppose her?

Neyana

She lets [member="Vanessa Vantai"] speak out. Yet, she tended to ignore most of the topic a hand. Nicole has her own view point on the Sith and it wasn't going to change anytime soon. "Whatever." She commented. How can an average person even gift her all the things in which Nicole was given? The man who did this to her still has that scar imprinted in her mind. No one can change that. Why did she agree to this again?

Nicole moved to get her things and carried them.

A sigh crossed the lips of Vanessa as she heard that response. There was little she could really say to rationalize a callous response given Nicole’s past complaints about the Sith were for the most part valid. She would watch as Nicole would carry her stuff to the Embassy. Soon Vanessa would show her the room - it was pretty standard, with a bed for one, an attached bathroom, and enough space for her belongings.

“So, what do you think?” She asked. Hopefully it was nice enough for her.
