PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Spectrum Shift: The spot-luma can shift the spectrum of the emitted beam or cone from visible light, to the infrared spectrum or the ultraviolet spectrum.
  • Configurable Color: The color of the beam or cone can be set by the user.
  • Mode Shift: The spot-luma can shift mode from a beam to a cone of light, allowing it to act like a targeting laser or an illuminator.
  • Modular Mounting: The device comes with adapters for all manner of mounting systems from a variety of different manufacturers.
  • Adjustable Brightness: The brightness of the spot-luma can be configured for differing lighting conditions, but the device does this automatically by default.
  • HUD and Smart Optic Link: The system syncs with HUD and smart optic targeting systems, preventing it from interfering with HUD-based targeting aids and allowing it to display data directly to the user's HUD and/or the optic. The 'Drala Sur'haai' acan also be controlled over this link.
  • Holographic Display: The device can output data to a holographically projected display. The size, opacity, color and position of the display can be configured.
  • Rylith Power Cell.
  • Optional Pressure Pad switch.
STRENGTHS
  • Always Carry A Light: The device is capable of providing additional illumination in a number of different spectrums, from visible light to ultraviolet. This is useful in scenarios where there is little artificial light.
  • No HUD, No Problem: The spot-luma laser eases quick target acquisition in close quarters with or without a weapon-mounted sight.
  • Just In Case: The spot-luma laser provides a good backup in case HUD targeting systems or weapon mounted optics fail.
WEAKNESSES
  • Two Way: The beam or the cone can be seen by others who can see in that spectrum of light, allowing them to potentially track where the weapon or helmet that it is attached to is facing.
  • EMP/Ion: A powerful enough EMP/Ion weapon could fry or in the very least disable the electronics of the device.
DESCRIPTION
A late entry into the company's range of weapon and weapon attachment offerings, the Drala Sur'haai, is a laser targeting/illumination combination unit with configurable settings and HUD/optic sync. Owing to the fact that most of their customer base and the company's own PMC uses armor integrated targeting systems, it almost never occurred to the company' to ever develop a device like the Drala Sur'haai. It was the Mandalorian maxim of 'ret'lini' that inspired the weapon's creation, largely as a backup to aid targeting in the event of HUD or optic failure and/or to provide illumination in the event of a lack of lighting in any of the company's optical sensor suite's visible light spectrums.
Naturally, however, there are some downsides to the device owing to it's nature. The beam or the cone can be seen by others who can see in that spectrum of light, allowing them to potentially track where the weapon or helmet that it is attached to is facing. Secondly, while running out of battery isn't largely a concern due to the high efficiency solar recharging Rylith power cell, being shorted out by a powerful enough EMP/Ion weapon is. The device is fully rated for all the rigors of battelfield use, including EMP/Ion damage, however the emergence of increasingly powerful models of such weapons is a concern for even the protected and robust electronics of the Drala Sur'haai.
