OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: To submit an advanced optic system for use by Breshig War Forge Consolidated, Strill Securities and select others.
- Canon Link: N/A.
- Permissions: N/A.
- Primary Source: N/A.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
- Manufacturer: Breshig War Forge Consolidated.
- Affiliation: Breshig War Forge Consolidated and Strill Securities.
- Market Status: Closed-Market.
- Model: 'Kyrayc Sur'haai' Optics System.
- Modularity: Different magnification versions of the optic exist. Can be electroplated in other metals or coated with different materials. Can be mounted on all Breshig War Forge Consolidated weapons that have optics rails or other optics mounting systems, but also weapons from other manufacturers that have compatible optics rails or optic mounts.
- Production: Minor.
- Material: Duranium frame, Reinforced Duraplast armored exterior, Combat de-ionizer, Agrinium mesh inner liner, blast-tinted Glasteel, non-reflective paints, Ultrachrome circuitry and various electronics.
SPECIAL FEATURES
- Integrated Systems (can be individually toggled on or off):
- Electrobinocular Zoom
- 1-4x Short Range
- 1-12x Medium Range
- 1-100x Long Range
- 1-250x Extreme Range
- Image stabilization for all magnification levels.
- Lifeform scanner (unable to bypass stealth systems)
- Wallscope
- Multi-Frequency Target and Acquisition System
- Multi-Spectral Target Assessor
- Rangefinder
- Target Imager
- Combat Sensor
- Light-Scan Visor
- Targeting Visor
- Pistol Targeting Optics
- Heavy Targeting Optics
- Electrobinocular Zoom
- Rylith Power Cell
- Waterproof
- Scope Hood
- HUD Integration: The optics can connect and sync to a compatible HUD, displaying scope feed as either a replacement of the user's view, or as a size configurable picture-in-picture view. Targets can be marked, and still images and video of scope feed can be stored or sent over comms.
STRENGTHS
- Composite View: The 'view' in the main HUD is a composite view of all the various integrated systems built into the optic. This enables the user to see a more 'complete' view of the battlefield without having to switch between the input from various scanners, optics and visors. Though it is possible to switch off any of the integrated systems for whatever reason.
- Comprehensive Sensor and Combined Optic Suite: The suite of sensors, optics allow the user to see through most kinds of cover and concealment, provides targeting information and adjusts for light level and various other visual impairments.
- See-through: The scope's integrated wall-scope allows the user to see through even mirrored magnetic shields and walls, allowing them to take advantage of weapon systems capable of penetrating heavy cover.
WEAKNESSES
- EMP/Ion: Should the system actually sustain EMP/Ion damage that bypasses it's defenses, then it can cause all manner of havoc, such as sensor damage, forced reboots and even total system failure.
- Jamming/Interference: Wide area jamming and/or atmospheric interference can decrease the effectiveness and operating range of the optic.
- Skill: No amount of technology will make up for a lack of skill. The Kyrayc Sur'haai can make a good marksman great, but it can't make a poor marksman good.
DESCRIPTION
To complement the company's considerable line of small arms, Breshig War Forge Consolidated developed a line of optics to be able to significantly enhance the target acquisition capabilities of the user such that they may put the weapon's capabilities to full use. There are four variants of this optic, each with different variable zoom settings from 1-4, 1-12, 1-100 and 1-250. All the various magnification levels have image stabilization. The optic has a variety of sensors and optics, allowing the user to see through most kinds of cover and concealment, provides targeting information and adjusts for various light levels and other visual impairments.
The optics can connect and sync to a compatible HUD, displaying scope feed as either a replacement of the user's view, or as a size configurable picture-in-picture view. Targets can be marked, and still images and video of scope feed can be stored or sent over comms. This potentially allows the user to fire their weapon around or over cover without exposing themselves to return fire.
Unfortunately, this blessing of a variety of sensors and electronic optics also meant that should the system actually sustain EMP/Ion damage that bypasses it's defenses, then it can cause all manner of havoc, such as sensor damage, forced reboots and even total system failure. Additionally, wide area jamming and/or atmospheric interference can decrease the effectiveness and operating range of the optic. That said, the sheer usefulness of the optic means that such concerns are but necessary risks to those who appreciate it's utility.
