"Glad to hear it. I tried to make sure they'd be okay, but I had to still knock them out," she looked around at the bodies again — some were waking up but being restrained with some help of the prisoners they set free. Others were still going to be out for a little while longer, but Iris made sure they weren't going to suffer from any lasting damage.

"I don't think we can bring all of them along, so let's go with your idea. We lock them up in their own brig and set up a distress call so they'll be found. If we can't take them, prisoner, I don't want them to starve or dehydrate here." It was always something to think through. These people had definitely been brutal to the Alliance prisoners, but there was no reason to kill them, and taking them prisoner was just not an option.

They could barely carry their own people back.

"What do you think? Any other ideas?"

"That's probably for the best. We took out the engines and staying on this ship long enough for a prison ship to come and pick them up or fixing the engines will only have us targeted by any other Maws in the system." Iris hummed, thinking through various other options as she spoke. Really thinking. She didn't want anyone else to die, but she also didn't want to just let the Maw soldiers here go to torment others.

And yet, they had the kidnapped people to take care of. She relented her thoughts, giving a small smile to her master.

"Lets get these people home. They've been through enough."

Valery smiled proudly at her Padawan's assessment of the situation, and nodded in agreement, "I think so too, and while I'd be fine taking the risk for just us two, I don't want to put these people under even more stress," she said, looking around at the people Iris had freed. They were all tired, hurt, and wanted to go home.

To keep them here with the risk of the Maw coming after them... it was too much.

"Mhm, let's. But speaking of having been through a lot..." she looked at her Padawan and stepped closer so they could walk side-by-side while they escorted the Alliance personnel back to the ship, "...how are you holding up, Iris? You've been training a lot, I can easily tell, and these missions are demanding too. Are you getting enough rest?"

Iris let out a sigh of relief as they headed back towards the ship. Domxite reached up, nuzzling her cheek. Which only had her smiling all over again. They'd done it. Saved the people here, without anyone getting hurt. Well, without any of the prisoners or Valery and herself getting hurt. "Mhmm! I sleep the minimum amount required so I don't fall behind in my studies and my training. School is.. Different than I thought it would be. It's a lot harder than the holoshows would show. But if I want to be a doctor, I have to get the best grades. And I can't slack on my Jedi training so, minimum sleep only."

She flexed an arm, smiling.

"So I'm good."

"That so?" she asked with slightly narrowed eyes. Valery didn't seem convinced that she was doing the right thing, and it showed in the way she looked at her Padawan and felt in the Force. But part of her also felt bad for it — she wasn't exactly the best at taking time to relax. Kahlil knew that better than anybody... but he wasn't here right now to remind her of that.

"I'm glad you're taking school seriously and that you do so much with your training, I really am. But Iris, you need your rest and time to recover and just... enjoy life as well," she said with a gentle smile.

"When is the last time you took a break and just focused on yourself for a little while? And I'm talking more than just an hour here or there."

The last time she'd taken an actual break? She tilted her head, seeming to really thing about it. ".. Honestly, I think the last time I saw Lief . But I was in rehab then. Now there's not as much time to relax. I need to do everything I can so I can be a better healer and a Jedi to help more people like them." She turned her gaze, smiling softly to the group they'd rescued. That's right. Because of her hard work, she was able to save people now.

"I'm okay. I don't need to relax."

"You know, sometimes I feel like my stubbornness rubbed off on you a little as well."

She looked at Iris with a smirk, making it clear that she was mostly just joking around. But there was some truth to it as well — they both focused so much on their work, and they both were not quick to accept others telling them to slow down. There was always something more to do, more people to help.

But could they really help people if they were reaching their own limits?

"My husband has been wanting me to take it easier, so why don't we let him drop us off somewhere to relax for a little while? Not too long so you fall behind in school too much, but just so we can spend some time together and keep ourselves focused."

Huh? Iris blinked as they made it onto the ship with the others. Started to leave. Domxite activated the distress beacon on the ship so the Maw soldiers could at least be picked up on their own. But the Padawan just looked more and more.. Confused. ".. Like a training retreat?"

Valery looked at Iris will similar confusion for a second, but then grinned and wrapped an arm around Iris' shoulders. She stopped moving and with her other arm, she reached out as if she was trying to show something on the horizon, "Like a vacation, Iris." Valery looked down at her Padawan and smiled.

"You know, no training, no fighting or studying. Just relaxing and focusing on us for a bit."

Iris squinted her eyes.

"But, Tython was just attacked. They almost destroyed the world! There's no time to relax now. Solipsis is dead, so we need to press back before the Sith manage to find a new leader."

"We're already pressing back, and preparing to liberate the core worlds we lost. But it takes time, preparation," she said while she kept Iris pressed against her side. Gently, of course. "An important part of being ready to keep fighting is to make sure we're all prepared mentally and physically," she then continued.

"Taking breaks, small vacations, they help us recharge so we don't ever lose our focus. And... it'll be fun as well, unless you don't like spending time with your Master, hm?" she teased.

Iris nodded slowly, seeming more conflicted by the moment. At least Valery was there to be comforting about the whole thing. "I.. Okay, I guess." Then blinked. And pouted. "Wha- No! That's not what I mean- you're teasing me." Her pout worsened.

"That's meaan."

"Teasing you? I'd never," she continued with the same smirk. But after a moment longer, she just nudged her Padawan and withdrew her arm so they could help guide the Alliance people back to the ship and set up the distress call so the Maw crew could be picked up. It wasn't the most ideal outcome, but she wasn't going to let them die a horrible death.

"But I was serious about the vacation. I think it'll be good for us both."

Iris let out a sigh, but nodded after a moment. Vaction, between them. "Okay. That'd be fine, I think."
