Broken Chains

At first her words appeared to confuse him, but when the meaning sunk in she felt the shock of him realizing what she meant. Ra wouldn't have been surprised if he broke down laughing at how funny the situation was. Even she could find the humor in it.

"It's kind of hard to explain, but well, no. I mean sure I've been kissed...ugh."

He was correct in that the sith welcomed all emotion and used them to fuel their abilities. But passion of this variety wasn't something Ra was familiar with. Giving him a slightly odd look at some of his words, it turned into a scowl when he called her odd.

"I hold my emotions close and don't show them to others often. If I get mad, I will, but that's not quite the same. As for embracing emotions, I do that as well. Look at it this way, I'm near human, you're human and we both have them. Why not embrace what is naturally there?"

She didn't mean to come across like she was trying to tempt him to the dark, it was a simple question in this conversation. What Jakkor said next was very surprising and it would register on her face and through the Force. Her heart practically jumped up into her throat. Feeling his emotions, it was his turn to be slightly nervous. It was almost as if he would take the words back if he could.

Feeling a bit like a deer caught in the light of a speeder, Ra looked at him wide eyed. Clearing her throat before speaking and shoving her heart out of it.

"It would just be an act, no feeling, attachment or real...uh passion. I mean this is the first time we've shared more than just our names. While the proposition sounds delightful, I..um," She let out a huge sigh and looked away from him. "Want to spend more time with you."

He smiled as she looked away, at first her reaction made him giggle as if she was completely surprised by such a proposal. He was then bugged by what she said on how the coupling would be nothing more than an act of nature. She was right on some account. And so he did not take it to heart when she rejected him, even though she did admit it would seem delightful. This made a smirk appear and so he watched her more all the more curious by her actions.

He then let out a laugh in merriment as she looked away from him, and breathed a huge sigh. She then said that she wished to spend more time with him. He then chuckled and then spoke leaning slightly forward across the table. "Well we can certainly do that, and you don't have to be so nervous around me. My offer still stands whenever you are interested, But let me know what you would like to do?"

He said smiling. He wanted to make her feel at ease, and so spoke with a soothing tone to do so. He had never encountered a flustered and one who had a crush on the Jedi Knight. He sat there projecting an aura of peace through the force as he looked at her. Finding her both amusing and interesting.

@Ra'a'mah

If Ra hadn't been so nervous and flustered, she would have joined in the small giggles. Did he really just giggle? That small wave of humor passing as she declined his offer, but it didn't seem to bother him which had been something that concerned her. While she wasn't afraid Jakkor would actually hurt her, but it might have driven him away and Ra didn't want that.

When he laughed, she looked across at him as he leaned closer. He assured her they could spend more time together and to relax. A true smile appeared on her face and at that moment she knew that alignment didn't matter anymore.

"I'll try to relax. It's difficult. If you can't trust a sith, you can trust the words of this simple woman. I promise I'll let you know when I am ready. The interest is already there."

He would feel that she did relax though and wasn't quite as nervous. That would fade as he remained smiling and calm. With one last sigh, Ra closed her eyes for a moment and pushed any other misgivings she had away from her. Opening them again, her gold eyes looked at Jakkor and the smile returned to both her eyes and her face.

"I'm not exactly sure. You and you men just ransacked the town, you knocked me off my feet and now here we sit. I don't think either of us want much to talk about our respective pasts. And I'm not quite yet ready to...you get the idea."

While relaxed enough to speak as freely as she would let herself, Ra had the feeling she would be spending more time with Jakkor after today, even after she leaves Tatooine.

"Oh, may I know something from today? I know you found me in the slave market, but I don't believe in slavery. There was a young girl I was trying purchase. Do you think she young enough to have been saved?"

[member="Jakkor Kess"]

Jakkor smiled knowing that she was at least interested. He remained calm, any hint of anger all but vanished as he reamined sitting. He was oblivious to what they could perhaps do. He just sat there taking more of a meditative stance. He had sat there basking in the tranquility of the Force. He did not say a word at least for now, he was lost in deep thought at what the Force had wanted for him. For now it was spending time with a Lord of the Sith.

All his life he knew that the Jedi and Sith were mortal enemies. Throughout the Clone Wars he had heard tales of Darth Maul. The Sith with whom Master Kenobi had slain on Naboo a couple years before he was brought to the temple. He had then encountered Darth Vader during the age of the Empire. For a long time with each encounter against the Sith was one of pain and horror. But she Ra was starting to prove that perhaps in a rare case the Dark and Light can coexist, and reach a metaphorical balance if you will.

When she spoke of a child. The Tusken replied in a serene tone. "Yes if she did not wander into the Dune Sea, she was taken by the Tribesman where she will be raised as a Tusken, as one with the ways of the sands." He said still looking into her eyes.

@Ra'a'mah

Jakkor gave her a smile at her words and then appeared to start meditating in front of her. In what Ra thought of as her second life after her mind wipe or whatever her master had done, she had started over in her Force knowledge. She knew how the Jedi as a whole thought and how they more or less allowed the Force to guide them. So it seemed he might be the same way. That teaching still clung to her even now, even her enlightenment didn't wash it away. She had only discovered a different aspect of herself and one that was stronger than what she was before she learned.

In the time it took for Ra to start her new legacy, she had learned sith and Jedi could work together as allies and maybe even become friends. At the time though, she was neutral with no calling for one path or the other.

Ra just watched him as he briefly meditated and when he replied, his answer gave her some hope the girl had lived.

"I don't think she wondered off. She was next to me your attack started and I cut the slaves free then."

Leaning forward, their eye contact continued. Being sith a snide comment crossed her mind, but it left no emotional tell on her feelings and Ra kept it to herself. It wouldn't do either of them any good in the future to get off on a worse start than they already had. What could be worse? Well, they could be trying to kill each other right now instead of staring across the table. With the last part of that thought, the little school girl nervousness kicked back in and Ra let out an irritated growl at herself.

"What is wrong with me? I'm a sith lord, not a teenage girl."

[member="Jakkor Kess"]

He smiled knowing that the girl would be raised as a Tusken. Like him, she would be raised on the customs, and traditions that come with being Tusken. Being Tusken was a life that was not easy nor hard. Jakkor himself grew hardened as a result and became a capable warrior as well. Time would only tell for the new batch of youngsters that he had managed to acquire, but he was able to put Ra at ease and that was what counted at least.

He giggled at her comment of how she was a Sith Lord and not a Teenage girl. He found the remark quite humorous as even though she was near human, she still had emotions, and the whole idea of her being attracted to him was still quite funny. He himself had to admit he was also attracted to her besides her dark alignment. Nonetheless, her behavior was curious to him.

He still studied her and then spoke to her once again. "That's because when it comes to attraction, it is something that is hard to break away from, and besides it's not like you don't enjoy being around me. So what shall we do here? And besides, you look cute when you are flustered."

@Ra'a'mah

Ra may not have fully liked the fact she couldn't free the slave girl, but at least she wasn't going to be a slave. In time, maybe she could see the girl again. Something to figure out when her brain wasn't distracted by other thoughts. Then again for it happen, she would have to deal with her thoughts on Jakkor.

Before he spoke, she started to try and make sense of the situation on her feelings in a logical manner. What she felt was like a school girl having a first crush. She had no concept of love so that thought didn't cross her mind. Feeling that emotion was one she felt she would never know or have returned to her. Somebody had told her that her relationship with her captain had been a form of love and she had cried when he died. It didn't seem that it was the same though. For now, it was more infatuation and curiosity which in time would change.

Her questionable statement made him giggle again, she liked the way his eyes and face light up. Too many people didn't have a sense of humor and this whole thing was very amusing. He did answer her question and asked one of his own. What he said after that, just made her more like crawling into the corner and hiding. Instead, she attempted to play it as cool as she could while blushing.

For a moment she stared beyond him, taking several deep breaths before speaking. Her voice was fairly normal, no heat, cold or any strong emotion. Looking at him, her gold eyes sparkling a little as she answered his question.

"Show me the sights here, your home and people. Give me knowledge."

Knowledge was power and if he did as she requested, they would get to know each other on different levels.

He found Ra both amusing and interesting, he had not once encountered a Sith Lord who had been acting this way. He himself had only encountered. He had decided to still sit there for a while hearing the silent breeze that flowed through the outside of the dwelling. He did not know what to say or do, things were still quite new to him and so whatever would happen would go as they are meant to go.

When she asked to see the sights and for knowledge of his people, he slightly shook his head. It would be a bad idea, there were rules and customs within the Tusken People. It would not sit well with her. Especially with how things were set up. He himself knew this as he merely did not bring many outsiders to the Tribes. Or as his people call them Outlanders. Jakkor for a time was like that when he was a Jedi of the Old Republic. He was not like that anymore as he ruled at least a couple of tribes as a chieftain and warlord, but was still a Jedi.

He spoke his tone sounded a bit disappointed. "I am afraid I can't do that. One it is getting close tonight, and so it is dangerous to wander at night in the desert. Two my people do not take kindly to outlanders. For one you are exposing your flesh which is taboo amongst my people, and an offense. Second, they do not trust you. I am afraid it is easier said than done, my dear."

@Ra'a'mah

There were a few moments of calm silence between them after Ra made her request. Jakkor shook his head and like he didn't want to give the answer he had to. Some of it came as a surprise, but most of it not.

"Well, I could dress like you, though would need help with it all. I mean if that would make a difference in things."

Her knee jerk response as a sith was to snap out something irritated, but instead of doing that she opted to sound more polite. She didn't sound like she felt...but that was just one emotion in the mix and not the strongest one she felt. For the moment, the nervous feeling was gone and she finally felt more like an adult inside.

"I also didn't say it needed to start today. Would I be welcome in the camp you set up for the night here or would I have to stay away?"

He lead this tribe, wouldn't his word hold weight? She understood about the trust thing. Until just a few minutes ago even he hadn't trusted her. It was for entirely different reasons though.

His last two words brought a look of surprise to her eyes. Even though it was they were said with the disappointed tone, they meant more to her almost any of the others. They indicated he too had an interest beyond just a physical act, that he actually liked her. She had been interested in him for over a year now, why had he not noticed her before? Ah that was in the past, in front was one of many futures. Gone now was and maybe for good was the awkward feeling between them. Ra felt comfortable enough to be herself. Giving him a smile before she spoke. It wasn't a toothy grin, but a friendly smile that lit all the way up.

"My dear...I like the sound of that."

[member="Jakkor Kess"]

He would sit in silence, as he thought that she would take offense to his statement. Much to his surprise, she didn't. It wasn't his choice to make regarding his people, these customs were made thousands of years before his time, but if she was accepted into the tribe then she would be a Tusken, in order to do that was not very easy, but with him being chieftain he could do such things.

When she spoke of putting on clothes, the garbs of Tuskens he smiled and replied. "Yes you could, but female Tusken Garbs are a lot different then mine or the other males. But it would not hurt to try." As for her second question, he was at a lost. He knew that most of the warriors would feel uneasy around her, as they did not know her, and so being around them would perhaps only agitate them more. He then continued. "I suggest staying here for now. It would not be a wise idea to go to the tribesmen being an outlander they will attack you."

He then saw what looked to be a toothy grin come from her, as she seemed to have fallen prey to his words. He did know how to get to women. He returned the smile as she expressed that she liked being called that. He replied in kind with. "Oh yes. Well, you my sweet are perhaps one of the most beautiful creatures I ever saw. As almost like you were a rare flower in the desert, or even your silver hair and golden eyes make you seem as a magnificent angel that came from the stars."

@Ra'a'mah

Ra leaned forward slightly, waiting on what Jakkor would say to her idea about the clothes.

"What is the difference? As long as I could still fight if needed. I can even cook."

She was a great cook and she knew this. Not having just tasted her own cooking, but having been told by others how good her food was. If it was in her nature, she would probably make a good mate with just her cooking ability alone. Staying in one place though didn't suit her well and she liked the freedom to roam the galaxy when she wanted to.

"They won't come attack me in my sleep here? I'm sure they noticed we walked off together. Would they come looking for you?"

Now she had the opportunity to talk to him, Ra didn't want it to end. The thought of him having to go about his duty as a leader here would leave her alone and on a foreign world surrounded by warriors that could overwhelm and kill her. Sith lord or not, she wouldn't stand a chance against all of them.

Shaking her head, smiling and chuckling at his last comment, Ra would look at him with great humor.

"Now you're just pulling my leg. I am far from an angel and that rare flower can be quite dangerous. I always saw myself as more cat like."

Now she would have to come up with some sort endearment for him, but that inspiration was lacking so she didn't call him anything.

"You on the other hand, look quite rugged. Your hair and face tattoos match and mix well. What do they mean?"

One of her hands came up as she spoke and would trace in the air the pattern she saw. No physical contact had been made, but Ra really wanted to trace them on his face. Given the opportunity, she would, but made no move then to do so. Her heart slammed back into her throat, but she wasn't nervous anymore. There was a different feeling in her. One she could not identify, something she hadn't felt before and Ra didn't know what it was.

[member="Jakkor Kess"]

He smiled at her humor, he was really trying to sound romantic, as she put it he already swept her off her feet. He found the whole idea both interesting and adorable. He had wanted to continue with his flirtatious talk of the silver haired beauty in front of him. He looked at her sensing something from her, but couldn't exactly tell what it was.

Nonetheless, he answered her regarding. the clothing, and even added a slight teasing nature. "Yes but the dress of our women are different. It does not really promote fighting honestly. And cooking huh? You wish to become my woman is that it?" He said in a playful tone, half joking and half serious, but he did enjoy the idea of having a Sith Lord for a mate. The thought was appealing that was for sure.

He then looked at her again and chuckled at the humor she showed, at his attempts to woo her. He smiled and then replied. "Even more so a cat is still lovely and graceful as you are now." He knew that his attempts maybe weren't working, but he had to at least try besides this was becoming very interesting.

When she started to ask about his tattoos and began to trace them, without even touching him, although he could sense her desire to, he let out a small smile as he spoke. He grabbed her hand, and guided it to his face allowing her to touch him. "Well, they are to remind me that even though I am human, I am always a Tusken as well."

@Ra'a'mah

His answer about the clothing the females wore made her give him a slightly sour look. It didn't hold any malice or anger though. The following comment though brought that blush right back into her normal colored face and threw anything she was thinking out of her mind.

"I...are...what...," Ra stuttered over the now rampant thoughts that hopped into her mind in the place of the others that had just scattered. She didn't know if Jakkor was serious or not, but it almost seemed like he was. His voice held some humor in it, but she didn't know him well enough to know if he meant what he said. Growling again at herself, he would hear it in her throat when she did and that, "I blame you," look came back.

He complimented the fact that even cats could be lovely and graceful, adding in that she was as well. Though at the moment, she felt less so than normal. Her face on fire and all her thoughts scattered. She had already given voice asking about the tattoos and Ra waited on his answer to that. With her hand up, he took it and allowed her trace them like she wanted.

Even with her stammering and brainless, her touch on his face was gentle and her eyes took on a new look. He answered her question with an honest smile that helped in getting her thoughts under control. The act of her fingers moving along the marks and lines gave her something to concentrate on more than his previous words. Calming down enough to finally answer his question, she met his eyes, giving him half a smile.

"Perhaps I am. Would you like that?"

[member="Jakkor Kess"]

He found her current reaction more or less intriguing, she had shown behavior that was completely unlike that of a Sith Lord. No hate, or a trace of rage, it was completely new to Jakkor. He had just sat there, the emotion that was something akin to attraction started to take hold. He had chosen not to speak for some time letting his thoughts collect he had merely just thought about the past, present and future. So much time gone and all the things that had happened, he didn't even know how to handle today's events.

He had stopped his musings and looked back to her, he decided to answer her back upon hearing her remark, not a few seconds earlier she had continued her girlish impressions that would be coming off a Lord of the Sith. Either way, he replied with a smile as looked to her. "Very much so."

@Ra'a'mah

Ra had been the one asking the questions this whole time really and Jakkor answering them. True to the conversation that had been going, he answered this one. That answer almost sent shivers down her spine, but they weren't chilling. She did get goosebumps though and her eyes got wide. A dawning thought surfaced and then she knew the Jedi across from her was much more than a passing fancy. The man that as a sith she should be the enemy of. The human that if the fates decreed it, would be her mate. She knew they were meant to be partners. Somehow and someway, they would make it work.

In the short, but very open conversation they had opened new doors for her. They revealed a future she had never thought of. One that contained what might be the start of love. Whatever this new emotion was she felt, went in deep. Through her bones and maybe even into her soul.

These thoughts passed in a flash and Ra looked across at him still.

"Did we just get engaged?"

Her hand stopped tracing his tattoos when he spoke and now if he allowed it, she would take a hold of his hand and just hold it.

[member="Jakkor Kess"]

He smiled, perhaps it was the will of the Force that brought them together, and he knew that he had cared for this woman despite if she was a Sith or not. For now, Ideologies or dogmas did not matter. It was Love that did, and so what was layed out for them. He did not say anything for now. All he knew was that woman would be his mate, and he was satisfied with just that.

He laughed upon hearing her remark. Even though they weren't engaged, he was still humored by her, and so said with a small smile as he said. "Not exactly. Unless you would like to be, then I wouldn't mind pleasing you then?" He said he wouldn't mind being engaged to her, he even went as far enough as perhaps sharing younglings with her, but mentally laughed at such an awkward idea knowing he just recently got out of a family for a new one.

The night was slowly setting in. The Tribesmen had set up huts and fires for food and such other comforts. It was so far a blissful day, it was something that Jakkor would never give up in his entirety so far.

@Ra'a'mah

Holding hands, the table separating them, they connected. A mutual feeling between them, a shared knowing this was meant to be. Jakkor seemed to be as accepting of this as Ra was.

He laughed at her question and said it wasn't exactly engaged unless she wanted it to be. Taking on a fully thoughtful look, Ra felt within herself and the Force for an answer. It did not take her long to find it and give him an answer.

Feeling a sense of true calm envelop her, she looked across at him. With a light squeeze of her hand, a smile that matched his and the barest of nods.

"I think I would like that."

Night had started to fall outside as the twin suns set, the smell of food filled the air and the sound of camp settled around them. He had said she would not be welcome in the camp, but she didn't want this one with Jakkor to end.
