ADVANCED SYSTEMS
- Orison-Class Point-Defense Lancer Array
- The entire ship is built around a single purpose - to give transportation to the complex and powerful Point-Defense Lancer Array built into its very being. This point defense system requires a dedicated ship, and as such it was given the Bulwark to essentially carry into battle a universally enhanced point-defense system. The Orison even has priests meant to bless and maintain it, along with a dedicated AI meant to predict future movements of its targets in real time.
- Exceptional Point-Defense Capability
Equipped with the Orison-Class Lancer Array and Sibyl Combat Daemon AI, the Bulwark-Class excels at intercepting enemy starfighters, missiles, and torpedoes with high accuracy and coordination, forming an impenetrable defense grid when deployed in formation. - Very High Defensive Resilience
Reinforced hull, layered shielding, and Sith-warded circuitry provide strong resistance to energy and kinetic attacks, making it difficult to destroy without overwhelming firepower. - Fleet Integration & Shield Networking
Designed to serve in close coordination with capital ships, the Bulwark enhances overall fleet survivability by linking its shield systems into formation-wide energy fields. - Modular & Maintainable Under Fire
Rotational capacitor-based systems and modular weapon mounts allow for sustained combat operation and mid-engagement maintenance cycles.
WEAKNESSES
- Extremely Limited Mobility
With a very low speed and maneuverability rating, the Bulwark-Class is unable to reposition quickly and is vulnerable to flanking, gravity well traps, and precision strikes if left unsupported. - No Offensive Capability Against Capital-Scale Targets
Its armament is entirely focused on point-defense and anti-starfighter roles; it cannot meaningfully damage cruisers, destroyers, or larger vessels. - Heavy Dependence on Fleet Formation
Designed to function as part of a larger coordinated defense grid, its effectiveness drops significantly when isolated or operating without support. - Spiritual and Thermal Degradation
Overuse of the Orison Array can cause heat strain and AI daemon instability, risking misfires or shutdowns during prolonged engagements.
DESCRIPTION
The Bulwark-Class Corvette is a spiritual and technological culmination of the Iron Phalanx Doctrine—intended not to lead the charge, but to ensure that no enemy crosses the fleet's defensive line unchallenged. Originally conceived by Jaeger Solutions under clandestine contract with the Sith Order, the Bulwark's design was fragmented across multiple private firms and shell companies to ensure secrecy and ideological purity. Only during the ship's prototype reveal during the Eriadu Trials was its true function unveiled: a protective vessel engineered entirely around the Orison-Class Point-Defense Lancer Array.
The Orison Array, guided by the Sibyl Combat Daemon AI, functions as a divine targeting system—employing curved plasma lances and predictive engagement based on probabilistic foresight. Six to eight of these weapons line each Bulwark-Class hull, creating an overlapping kill zone ideal for vaporizing starfighters, missiles, drones, and torpedoes. Each strike is filtered through gravitic lenses and inscribed focusing apertures, forming a weapon that "prays while it kills." The Sibyl daemon is also connected across ships via a limited TunnelNet encryption node, allowing for real-time killbox coordination between multiple Bulwarks.
While exceptionally well-armored and shielded for a ship of its size, the Bulwark-Class suffers from extreme limitations in mobility and offensive flexibility. It is slow to reposition and lacks any real anti-capital capability. It is also vulnerable to being flanked or isolated—if removed from formation, its primary tactical function diminishes sharply. Extended engagements can overload its capacitor rotation cycles, risking targeting degradation or Sibyl desynchronization. Maintenance of these systems is as much spiritual as it is mechanical, requiring ritual cleansing, recalibration rites, and Interdictor Priest intervention.
Despite its limited offensive scope, the Bulwark-Class is a cornerstone of First Legion fleet formations. Its capacity to carry up to 20 personnel and 200 metric tons of munitions or spiritual equipment makes it a viable support unit during sustained operations. The ship's minimal hangar space is used only for maintenance drones, not launch craft, further reinforcing its defensive specialization. Six months of consumables and an optional skeleton crew mode make it deployable in remote sectors for extended screening operations.
Where it excels, it does so with eerie efficiency—holding the line with supernatural foresight, mechanical discipline, and an absolute intolerance for intrusion.
