Burning Down the House

She looked at him as she steadied herself, for the first time in awhile she actually gave a smile. A true smile not one forced at all or put on for show. She stood tall best she could before eventually she had to take a seat back in her chair

succes...is built on the back of failure, setbacks are challenges meant to be conquered....

She looked him in the eyes she gave a smile and closed her eyes listening to his words as she took a minute to figure out what they meant before her eyes opened and she relaxed

as I know your name as father...

The words seemed...foreign in a way, she didn't remember her childhood father...father to her and zes...she looked to her sister hoping she knew what he meant...hoping she would accept...

What Maud was saying finally sunk into the brain of Zesiro. Right now, all she had for family was Anya. He was speaking with knowledge of somebody that had been in their position before. She looked at him with a little disbelief and maybe a little mistrust, but not totally. He offered this of what appeared to be free will because he wanted to. She still had the question of why, but kept silent.

Their eyes met in silence and he nodded between them. Not knowing what the words meant, she could tell they were powerful and had meaning.

When Maud said they wouldn't have to face anything alone anymore, that mistrust went away. The reaction of Anya soothed the mistrust Zesiro had and she accepted what was more or less an adoption.

"I thought I didn't have any family, then Anya and I found each other. Now you have found us."

He nodded at the two women, a moment of bonding over a new beginning. Everything that had come before was cin vhetin, a clean slate. Brokenness, loss, alone, hopeless, everything would stay in the past. It would no longer steer their fate, his own included. It was a new step for himself as well. Ever he had been a solitary creature. Alor of a clan, yet separated as leader. Shaman of Doashim, but marked by power. A warrior that chose no attachment.

But everything changes. Sometimes for the worst, but something told him this was for the best. A new era. Clapping his hands together he moved to the liquor cabinet and swiped the bottle before looking over his shoulder.

"I'd say let's get any belongings you need and go ... Home."

Moving to the desk he rummaged through the files that littered the top until he found the ones with Zes and Anya. Resting one hand on the desk surface he let the force flow through him and across the desk allowing the papers to burn. Only two things were left. Remnants of two flimsi photos of the women. Smirking he figured Isley would get the message. The Mad Master had taken the women, and they would not be touched lest everything around burned first.

Leaving the study he paused to await his newly discovered family, and to keep his first promise to a daughter.
