Werdla Dardalab
Character
Name: Buruk Squad
Intent: To submit the Squad 'La is a part of to ensure people don't just one shot them as unimportant NPCs
Affiliation: Mandalorians
Availability: Unique (this squad itself, a five man squad of general Mandos would be common)
Quality: B
Type: Primarily Infantry, trained to operate under other circumstances
Strength: 5, 4NPCs and 'La
Description:
During the Netherworld Event, or Rapture, the Call was put out to all able bodied Mandalorians no matter where they were scattered across the galaxy to return and fight for their people, their home and their leader. This meant there were a great many individuals who were not part of any pre-existing unit. Many of those were thrown together into squads of varying sizes and set loose to accomplish their goals.
Buruk Squad, as they were called, which caused rather a lot of snickering, was originally formed of 20 individuals, five of whom found they worked well together and continued to do so, forming the bonds of camaraderie the Mandalorians are known for and keeping the name. They've chosen to continue working with each other in almost all major Mandalorian operation.
---------------------------
Name: Harampr
Loyalties: Buruk Squad, Mandalorians
Role: Tank, Heavy Gunner
Age: 29
Species: Human
Force-Sensitive: No
Appearance:
Model: Joshua Saari
Personality: Joker, flirt, intensely loyal, stubborn, fearless.
Weapon of Choice: Heavy weaponry, grenades
Wealth: Negligible. Harampr is not a saver and he does not think ahead. When he gets paid, he spends it.
Biography: Harampr is second generation Mando, though he was not born into it. His parents fled Sith advancement to the Mandalorian held worlds, and not wanting to spend their lives fleeing, chose to become Mandalorians themselves, raising their young son in the traditional manner as best they could with the help of their new clan. Harampr, being an active and jovial child took to it extremely well, though he always did better in squad situations than on his own. Harampr is more soldier than many Mando's, largely because this was what his parents understood best, rather than the fierce independence of other Mandos.
With the Mandalorians growing fairly complacent, Harampr had worked in private mercenary companies until the call went out during the Rapture, returning to find his parents gone and the Mandalorian lands in disarray, he immediately offered his services and was assigned to Buruk Squad, where he spends much of his time trying to convince 'La to sleep with him.
Combat Function: Harampr and Werdla are the two Heavy Gunners in the Squad. Clad in heavier armour than usual, they are in the front of most engagements, taking any fire that cannot be avoided and covering their squadmates as well as laying down a devestating amount of firepower themselves. This of course means they do tend to be slower and cannot maintain a sprint for any length of time, and even the usual ground eating lope of a Mando covering terrain can get extremely tiring.
Harampr is also a scrapper. He's big and muscled, and not necessarily someone you want to trade blows with. His favourite drinking game is Mando Standown, in which two opponents stand across from each other and trade blows until one of them falls over. So far the only one who's beaten him is 'La, and she did get to swing first.
Skills: Various martial alluded to above, piloting, the ability to consume copious amounts of alcohol, banter
Notable Possessions: Blue and Orange Beskar'gam
-------------------------------
Name: Jidte
Loyalties: Buruk Squad, Mandalorians
Role: Tech
Age: 25
Species: Human
Force-Sensitive: No
Appearance:
Model: Alex Libby
Personality: Quick thinker, smart, cunning, sly
Weapon of Choice: Blasters, knives
Wealth: Modest, Jidte is smart with his money, but he also puts a lot of it into keeping his gear and tech updated.
Biography: Jidte grew up a street rat in the core, when in his young teens he pickpocketed a man who turned out to be a Mandalorian. The Mando hunted him down with the intention of killing him, or at the very least teaching him a lesson he would never forget. While he did lay a beating on the boy that Jidte was sure to remember, he was also impressed by the way Jidte threw knives with unerring accuracy and actually managed to stab him once.
Seeing potential in the scrawny hoodlum, the Mando took him in, initially against his will, but when Jidte realized the skills and life he was being offered he took to it gladly. He's flourished since then and been in many squads and groups, as well as doing some solo work, but upon being assigned to Buruk Squad, found that he fit in with the easy irreverencey, and know sees them as his family.
Combat Function: Jidte is first and foremost the one with the best gear and most high tech HUD. He does most of the scans for explosives or traps, he also does any slicing the squad requires. If a forced entry requires a carefully calculated amount of explosives, and Harampr might get a little too generous, Jidte handles it.
He's still a quick shot with a blaster, though he tends to favour lighter weapons than La or Harampr. He's also a skilled knife fighter and thrower.
He's also the best tracker in the group.
When he is not actively using his tech to scan the forward route, he may be put on rear guard, his more senstitive HUD allowing him to pick up on any approaching threat faster than anyone else.
Skills: Martial skills, tracking, piloting, slicing, knife fighting, general tech knowledge
Notable Possessions: Black and Green Beskar'gam
-----------------------------
Name: Sasctayr
Loyalties: Mandalorians, Buruk Squad
Role: Intel
Age: 31
Species: Human
Force-Sensitive: No
Appearance:
Model: Andrew Moore
Personality: Intelligent, mature, prepared, a little stuffy compared to the others
Weapon of Choice: Blasters, wrist mounted missiles and flamethrower
Wealth: Modest, Sasctayr is a saver and an investor, however he also has a passion for knowledge, and spends much of his pay on his secret love, physical flimsi-books.
Biography: Sasctayr was born to an old Mandalorian clan, who quite frankly were baffled by the boy who spent more time reading than training. Not that he didn't preform adequately, he did, it was just.. odd. This continued to be a theme as he grew. He was often ostracised for being something of a know-it-all and behind in a slightly holier-than-thou fashion, enraging those who were perhaps not as smart or literate.
In Buruk Squad he had his first taste of real acceptance. While his loyalty is still to the Mandalorians as a whole above the Squad, the fact that they view him as useful and an integral part of the Squad has earned his loyalty, even if outwardly he just acts annoyed at their own lack of knowledge or effort.
Combat Function: Sasctayr is the squads main source of info. He's good at sifting through vast amounts of information for whatever is valid and matters. He's also the only one who reliably reads their mission briefings. It is entirely normal for the squad to land with most of them having no idea what they're doing until he tells them.
Beyond that, Sasc is a decent shot, usually carrying both a blaster and a slugthrower. He is often on rear guard with Jidte or when Jidte is on other duties.
Skills: High reading comprehension and speed, tactical thinking, wide knowledge on broad and random subjetcs, martial training, piloting.
Notable Possessions: Blue and Green Beskar'gam
---------------------
Name: Beraga
Loyalties: Buruk Squad, Mandalorians
Role: Medic, Sniper
Age: 28
Species: Lorrdian
Force-Sensitive: Yes. Unaware. Untrained.
Appearance:
Model: Tobias Sorensen
Personality: Quiet, pensive, reserved, observant
Weapon of Choice: Sniper rifle, blasters
Wealth: Pretty well off. Not that anyone knows it.
Biography: Not a lot is known about Beraga, and this is apparently how he likes it. He speaks very rarely, and almost never about himself, generally just about the situation at hand. Even on nights off he tends to keep his helmet on.
If asked to speculate, based on the colour of his armour, his Squad mates would hazard that there is tragedy in his past, and that this is likely why he is as withdrawn as he is. If anyone has a secret story or a past that might come back to haunt them, it is probably Beraga.
Combat Function: Beraga is both the squads sniper and medic, in short, he is absolutely crucial, and though they know almost nothing about him personally, the other four would defend their vod to their deaths.
Unless they are sure the area behind them is secure, which since the small squad is usually dropped into hostile territory is almost never, Beraga is usually in the middle of whatever formation they take. Not that he is incapable of being front and center with the rest of them.
Beraga is also trained in unarmed combat, not the sort of bar brawling that Harampr takes part in, but actual martial arts, this rarely comes up.
Skills: Martial skills, crack shot, anatomy knowledge, piloting
Notable Possessions: Gray and Gold Beskar'gam
