After half a decade on the Field of Blades, Ember didn't even break a sweat on Jakku unless he spent too long in plain sunlight. He took a long drink from his canteen, left his bantha at a water trough, and entered the palace. The usual scum and villainy felt like family. Maybe some of them even were.

"Lord Toa," he said, dropping his hood. "I'm told you have powerful friends in Hutt Space. I'm looking for reliable mercenaries. Do you have any retainers I could hire from you?"

"Thank you, Lord Toa. I'll make you an offer, then: full use of twenty of your best combat-capable servants for a month. Any who survive will gain experience they never would have found here - they'll be elite. I'll take care of their pay and lodgings. Your share would be this - and the same again when I'm done."

Ember tossed the gemstone to someone who looked like an important servant. He bowed slightly.

"A simple freighter if you have a spare ship available. That's all. You've made a deal with the Rekali family now. We'll honor it."

Toa might have heard of the Rekali cartel - part Mandalorian, part witch, part mercenary. Ember's granddaughter Alec had been wanted on Nar Shaddaa for years.

Lab was always looking for more ways to increase her business, and the rich business man [member="Vee Toa"] gave her that exact chance to do so, with his possible investment and growth she would be able to keep up with the other large companies that had major backing from faction or owned by large enterprises. It turned out she was not the first here a [member="Ember Rekali"] already conversing with the man, no matter she would just have to wait.

He backed away, glancing at the other guests waiting for an audience with the crime lord. A disparate crowd, untrustworthy and intriguing. Certainly some would pass along what they'd heard today, and that was as it should be.

He turned and headed out of Toa's audience chamber. Next stop: Bantha.

"Hello Lord Toa, my name I Labkarhip Mordulla, head of my own independent arms and soon to be military vehicles company, I was wondering about possible investment and business dealings we may have for each other".
