edit:

Holy Posts Batman! 8000 of 'em.

There are some diverse characters interested in this and I do not see any reason to refuse any of you. At the end of the day this is RP and with the diversity of characters will make for an interesting group of Shadows. Regardless of character types, they could all fit into this as I see it. And if you wish for more ideas on this please feel free to PM me with the ideas I have for you all.
So if you all still wish to participate, just say the word. I am mostly aiming this at those that are unsure if they would fit in. As some of you have indicated your immediate interest. :)

As Matsu has said, we will keep this open for a day or two more just in case there is more interest, after which we can start organising training etc.

thank yu all for the interest, we are discussing some things and will tell you. If you have any ideas or interest don't hesitate to post. We'll still be looking but are going to see about what we can do.

For those who want, there might be for the new silver shadows robes.

[member="Marek S'hadar"] and Syn punched a padawan who was tryingto choke him and the other jedi to prove how powerful he is. [member="Coci Heavenshield"] once moved her bodysuit at the arm and the reflection from her pale skin blinded a padawan.

[member="Matsu Ike"] sounds like I'm all good then! Marek is and always has been a Guardian-type, Cale was the Shadow but now he's flying B-Wings for the GA under a false name, so Marek will have to do for now. I've got no desire to lead but I'd love to help train and go on ops.

[member="Matsu Ike"] Old thread, but I wanted to add my two cents as I'm looking to do Shadow stuff right now in light of TSO going crazy in Silver Space again.

Reforms are nice, but what will help is better screening of members, and more vigilant oversight. As far as I can tell, the Shadows of the past were pretty much left alone to do their own thing.

I believe we should rethink what a Shadow is, as we roleplay in an era where the Sith run around in the open and probably outnumber us. I like to think ofthe Shadows as an elite group of Jedi who are especially skilled at combating Sith and other hostile FU. So this opens up the group to all kinds of folks whether they're more of a frontline guardian type, or more techy folks who do research and develop equipment and countermeasures in the back. So, basically we become:

I'm actually not bothered by more neutral or rogue members being part of the Shadows. I believe they can actually help us as they may have a better understanding of what makes a Dark Sider tick as opposed to Jedi types who have never strayed from the Light Side. Having former Dark Siders in the group would also be a benefit.

Also, to drum up activity for the group, it would be nice if Silver Shadows would be allowed to go out and tango with Sith and other baddies in PvP events (with coordination). I see Sith plotting all the time, and some of them would be happy to have some opposition. It would also be nice just going on the offensive, even if it's in a limited capacity. OOCily, it can also help us build a rapport to ensure more friendly relations between writers.

[member="Arisa Yune"] a better screening process is now going to be in place or as best as can be. As much as IC would be great for everything the ooc of what the member wants to do also is a factor. THey could want to be a shadows and go through the things as an ideal jedi and then suddenly get bored and just turn darkside. IC wise it is forcing the whole screening process into question that works because someone did something ooc. so want to prevent something of a situation like that, where ooc can just throw huge wrenches into the ic.... better teach how to dodge with those wrenches. I hope this makes sense

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
[member="Lynn Corerunner"] it is in the write up for the new sign up. The shadows have returned to how they were originally with an outside part as leader so they are not running around without checks to their activities. If someone wishes to go for the position of director they can express interest

[member="Matsu Ike"] I dunno, I feel like some people we've lost to Sith could have been convinced to stay with some IC mentoring and relationship building. I do feel like we let some down in that regard. It's true that some writers have already made up their mind OOC what they're going do, and will not be knocked off that course no matter what, but I don't think that's the case for everyone. Personally, I've always tried to play this character organically, which has led me on a path with Arisa that I could have never imagined when I first put her up.

I think it will hurt the Shadows and Silver Jedi as a whole if we develop a hardline stance about who can do what. Already I see a whole bunch of good people disqualified by the standards laid out so far. I feel like the Shadows is an area for more of our alternative or grey types like myself to flourish. It's important to have a strong constitution in this line of work, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to be a saint. The intel/spec ops world is a murky business, and sometimes you have to push the envelope to get the job done. What's more important to me than trying to be pure of heart and mind in doing everything, is trying to teach people how and when they should push boundaries or bend the rules.

Hmm, I guess I'll go apply for director, then.
