Can It Be All So Simple?

Zane nodded his head. Compliments were nice and all. "Thanks. Those Reformation assholes needed some serious killing. The Republic just asked me to do it, so I did." Easy as that.

At the end of the day, here was the situation: he was on a boat with two sexy ladies, one of which was practically half-naked, the other who was planning to be half-naked. On top of it, he had to maintain his focus long enough that he learned how to utilize a Force power quickly and efficiently all while trying not to think about how he would very much like to do things to these ladies.

For our lovable hero, this was a tall order, because we all know what his priorities are. Standard male. So let's get fishing.

Zane went over and applied common logic: bait goes on hook, but hook has to go into water. Live bait - the worm with which he would catch his fish - was attached to the hook both ends for stability. Didn't want it to fall off. Fortunately, Zane wasn't squeamish about such things. It wasn't a big deal. Applying the Force to this lesson, however, was different. He was basically impaling a living thing and throwing it into the water.

He found his centre, listening to the whispers of the Force in the back of his mind. There was a quiet hum as he looked over to Coryth, ready for phase two.

"Right. Bait on hook. How do I put this thing in the water?"

Focus. Right, that was important. It was also a bit difficult to maintain considering that...Coryth was right next to her. Suffice to say our typically oversexed female managed to get a grip on things and focus on doing some actual work. Nonetheless she could not resist giving Coryth a wink. "Oh, come on, don't sell yourself short, Coryth. You were a total badass during our training sessions way back." Among other things they had torn apart a roof together. "And later on Gehenna." That vid had been a total hit on Galaxytube.

Now that Siobhan was done with trolling she focused, opening herself to the Force. It was a bit ironic that they were sitting on a boat in the middle of a sea because one analogy used for the Force was that of a vast river, with divergent streams and currents. Like Zane she applied common logic: bait on hook, hook goes into water, make sure bait does not fall off, attach to both hook ends for stability. Applying the Force to the lesson was the trickier part.

Nonetheless she opened herself and sought to hear its whispers. It was a lesson that required patience in spades, something she lacked. For long ago she had chosen power rather than insight, chucked rocks instead of listening. It had been the path of a soldier who operated on a principle of breaking anything that stood in her path. But...if she could get even some skill in battle precognition, it could be useful to her. Beneath her carefree facade that treated life as an eternal party Siobhan could not shake off the feeling that soon...the fun would stop.
