Karna had begun traveling with Katrine Van-Derveld, a mysterious young lady who'd become a close contact since the first time that they met. Normally, leaving his shop wasn't something he would do. Sticking around didn't bother him though, both because she was so interesting and he had a promise to fulfil. The intriguing part, Kat was far from normal but not in a bad way... well depending on the person. She claimed to have done some questionable things, Karna wasn't a person who enjoyed judging others so he kinda just listened through it all. Besides, he did many terrible things in his past. To judge someone for killing when he took lives himself would make him a hypocrite. The more he listened to her story, Karna tried to think of ways he could help her. That's where the promise came into place. He promised he'd be her friend for eternity. Though it was a big commitment, as she once said, Karna wanted to help her even if she didn't want his assistance.
After many parties, the two split for a little bit. Karna was enjoying his time spent with Kat but he had to go back home for a few days. He let her know before leaving and gave a time, date, and location for them to meet up at. Staying on the same planet was the norm, she was like his only close friend after all. It felt weird leaving her proximity. Everyone had their own responsibilities and tending to his shop was one of his, so he had to leave for now. When he finished dealing with business, Karna headed to Dathomir. The choice of Dathomir was for no special reason. He simply wanted to visit the place Kat spoke of often.
He paid for a ride to get there rather than fly himself. The ship he used probably needed some major repairs anyways. Along the way he wondered if Kat would actually come. She did forget about him one time before. Karna was sure she had other friends more exciting than him so he'd understand if she didn't remember. This time was a little different though, the location he gave her was a cantina. While he disliked Kat getting drunk he was sure she wouldn't pass up an opportunity like this one. A risky move on his part, since he planned on drinking too.
The pilot waved at Karna as he departed, he waved back. He wore casual clothes without consideration for the planet's climate. Karna walked towards the bar until he made it inside. Upon stepping inside, he caught a whiff of the alcohol that filled the entire building. This urged him to get started on drinking. Spotting an empty booth, Karna quickly went across the room and sat down. His order would include a beer and wine for when Kat arrived. The waiter came back moments later with the two drinks. Karna started drinking while waiting.
