I feel the good in you!

An amused smile visited the face of Lasedri as Master Raaf offered a little humor to the conversation. It was hard to imagine most people not getting along with the well-known Jedi Master, and it was comforting to know she would hopefully be able to rely on the younger woman as her liaison to the Order for the foreseeable future. But then Raaf asked the question, and the mood was nearly spoiled.

Rising from her seat in order to usher her guests to the door, the Prime Minister tried to ignore the question for the moment she could. Crap. She should have known this sort of situation might have led to this. There was no use pretending to believe Raaf had just taken a shot in the dark. Gen had dealt with enough Force users in her Rebel years to know that a master such as the very Grandmaster before her would be able to tell she was a bit more 'multipurpose' than she had ever let on.

There was a moment of hesitation, and Geneviève refrained from opening the door so no one else would hear of this--at least for now. What could she say? Was this the end of her secret? Most likely, for she had always imagined the Jedi Council discussed these sorts of matters. History had at least hinted at such behavior. Nervously, Gen eyed the somewhat intimidating visage of the Kel Dor Master before confessing with a simper, "I guess I'm not registered because I'm not a Jedi."

She had never felt so timid in her entire adult life.

Corvus glanced at Kian. She didn't let her eyebrows become involved - this was a purely eye driven exchange between the Jedi Masters. Her look quite simply said, I'll speak next but jump in at any time. It was an articulate glance and it had clearly learned its trade from her eyebrows - which were at Master level.

"There is no requirement to register of course, Prime Minister. My..concern is that a Force Sensitive is somewhat of a tantalising target for a Sith - especially one so high profile as yourself. Your career choice is entirely your own, but if you ever require any training, just say the word - even if it's how to protect your mind from the Sith, or to mask your aura."

"And rest assured, there is no requirement for any of us to share this aspect of our conversation with anyone. Even the Council. We would not be withholding relevant information from them - there is no deceit - but by the same token, there is no need to share. If your situation were to become public, only you have the right to divulge that information...unless you went Dark of course. History doesn't look fondly on Sith in charge of the Republic. Nor do Jedi if I'm honest." She chuckled, "Not that it would ever come to that I'm sure."

Kian listened, and remained quiet. He wondered how long the Prime Minister had been hiding her abilities, how long she'd walked with the burden of not revealing the full extent of who she was....but then again, he was sure politicians were use to such burdens. Then Corvus mentioned Sith in charge of the Republic and Kian's mind turned down a dark path. Kian didn't feel any darkness in the prime minister's force aura, but he had stood among those who had the ability to mask their force alignments before and knew better to trust entirely in what he felt.

What would they do if they discovered that a Sith had once more infiltrated the highest echelons of the Galactic Republic. It was a disturbing thought and one Kian had to ponder for a moment. As the two talked, Kian stared impassively as his mind wandered. He wondered how hard it would be to get a few assets within the Prime Ministers office.....whether or not he might be able to slip in a deep cover Shadow in order to 'monitor' the situation. With an operative or two inside, if an order 66 situation were to arise, they would be able to react fast, they'd be able to....

Kian pushed the thought aside.

His work with the Shadows really was making him paranoid. It wasn't necessary, not yet. But it wouldn't hurt to keep thinking on the issue as a safety net. Glancing to Corvus, Kian shrugged and smiled behind the mask.

"I would suggest not going dark." Kian said, his voice not menacing or threatening, but simply resolved. Kian certainly didn't want to come across as threatening, but he also wanted to make the point clear. The Jedi would not tolerate a darksider in charge. If the Prime Minister wished to practice the force without an affiliation with the Jedi, Kian could live with it. But the Shadows would certainly be keeping an eye on her.

Gen raised an eyebrow, not quite sure if the intention was goodwill or intimidation--from either Jedi. She was well aware of how the game might change should her secret get out. That was why she had kept it such a tight secret, after all.

Going dark? Well, that would depend on what they viewed as 'dark'. The Prime Minister felt no obligation to divulge much of her background--particularly that of her brief training under the now-infamous Matsu Xiangu--but Master Raaf had made an offer and it was not imprudent to keep that door open as long as permitted. "Perhaps--if there is a way to maintain the utmost privacy--I would not decline. I know it's a danger. Anything that could prevent it would be for the best."

Her eyes lost contact with her visitors and her hand ascended to her neck, finger tracing a nearly-faded white line about its circumference. "I've been nearly killed by Sith--twice," she admitted, enmity encroaching on her hushed tone. The Jedi were not exactly her favorite people, but they were certainly her favored. The Force was not a way of life to her. It was a tool. The Jedi were not the Republic, but they were powerful assets. "Don't think I'm here to sit idly."

If Prudence was Raaf's middle name, then Conviction was Lasedri's.

Kian was appointed Master of the Shadows – but master of the understatement came naturally to him. But Corvus suppressed a chuckle.

“You know where we are Prime Minister. Just pop in at any time, or if you need one of us to be here, we can arrange our schedule to accommodate that. We’re here to serve after all.”

“And we never underestimated you Prime Minister. You have our word in that regard.” With that she bowed politely by way of a goodbye. “Until next time.”

Kian rose with Corvus, prepared to leave, but before he walked out with the Grandmaster he bowed his head to the Prime Minister.

"We can, of course, ensure upmost privacy in any training you would like." Kian said turning to walk from the room. As he approached the door, Kian threw a glance over his shoulder and said.

"We'll be watching, Prime Minister." While his voice portrayed very little in way of emotion, beneath the mask Kian had a broad, jovial smile on his face. He just couldn't help himself.....throwing out one more cryptic response to the knowledge that the Prime Minister was in fact force sensitive. Furthermore, it wasn't entirely a lie.

The Shadows would certainly be keeping an eye on her now.

With their parting words, the Prime Minister opened the door and allowed them leave without her following. It was not like she was much of a social personality anyway. And after they had gone, their more-or-less jovial 'warnings' about keeping her under scrutiny echoed in her mind, agitating Lasedri slightly. There were some things she just preferred the Jedi did not know. And she would be keeping her 'daughter' out of their watch as best she could.

Admittedly, the Grandmaster's composure and speech had been a bit disarming to the Prime Minister. And while the Kel Dor had not done anything to tick her off, he was a factor that had made her uncomfortable, whether that was his true intent or not. Either way, Geneviève had a little more respect for the Grandmaster--especially in comparison to the last leader of their Order. [member="Corvus Raaf"] had just earned a portion of her trust--as long as she and [member="Kian Karr"] could keep a secret.

She would be watching them as well.
