Can You Read This For Me...

[Carliah Dakrone]

Carliah nudged the door to Yusan's office open. She was blushing and appeared very nervous. She had gained a little bit of weight in the last two months, though not enough to be very noticeable. In her hands she clutched a datapad. Earlier that day Carliah had gone to see a doctor about feeling sick in the mornings and her lack of a certain 'monthly visitor'. After she found out the reason for these things she sat there in shock for a minute, contemplating how to tell Yusan about her... er 'their' new problem. She finally settled on having the doctor type a brief overview of her doctor visit, and, more importantly, her diagnosis, along with a list of things she could and could not do. There was also a schedule of how she should progress and when to schedule her next doctor visit. She took a deep breath before walking up to Yusan and holding the datapad out to him. "Can you read this for me? You don't need to read it outloud... I know what it says already." She asked him, still blushing furiously.

Yusan looked up from his work and stared at her for a few moments before taking the datapad and reading it silently, his eyes scanning over each word slowly before looking up at her again then back at the words and rereading it a second time. The information certainly made him feel... different. He didnt have any way to interrupt what he felt as it was a certain feeling he had no experience with. He set the datapad down and removed the reading glasses that he had taken to wearing even if there were permanent ways of fixing his eyesight, he saw no reason for such at this moment. "I-I'm s-sorry.... I couldn't think of a b-better way to tell you," Carliah stuttered as she walked closer to him. She was still blushing furiously and she kept her hands held slightly infront of her to avoid bumping into anything until she was a few inches from him. She wrapped her arms around him , hugging him tight. She was nervous she definately didn't know how to be a parent as her mother had died when she was young and her father was a spice addict and sadistic, abusive psychopath. She 'looked' up at him. Yusan looked down at her for a moment before speaking again, "Well you are certainly stuttering enough arent you? I think this was a fine way of explaining it, though i must say it is certainly one that i hadn't expected..." He wrapped his own arms around and watched her while he waited for a response, his mind still running through a hundred things a minute all of which wasnt even registering on his face as he stood there and looked at her. He hadnt even expected such an occurrence and now he stood here in this situation with virtual no reason to expect such to happen.

"So... 'Daddy' what are we gonna do now?" Since he hadn't reacted badly she decided it was okay to tease him a little. She cuddled against him, still holding onto him tightly as she spoke. She was happy, confused and scared, but still happy. She just hoped she'd be a good parent. Needless to say, she already knew everything one shouldn't do as a parent. She wondered if Yusan had any idea what he was doing. He'd never mentioned his own parents before, so she wonder if maybe he knew as little about them as she did about her mother. 'Well this will certainly be interesting,' she thought as she let go of him and leaned up to kiss his cheek.

"Well i can give you a large list on things not to do, that much is pretty simple to obtain in a quick manner." He grinned at his own joke before raising a brow at her as she kissed his cheek. He brought his own head down to kissed her forehead before straightening back up and looking at her. "Well, either way this is certainly different situation i would have never been able to predict..."

"You do realize.... Your study is either going to have to become a nursery for the baby... Or we'll have to find a bigger apartment?" She told him before kissing him. She was happy, sure she hadn't been expecting this, or even hoping for it, but she was happy nonetheless. She continued to smile at him and decided to tease him further. "And since you're the one who stays up all night anyway... Taking care of him or her will be your problem. I'm gonna need sleep." She giggled and looked up at him. @ Yusan Fenn

"Hmm, that is certainly a hard decision, remove a room devoted for knowledge or get a large home for such a room to exist in conjunction with that of a room for the baby." He shrugged and looked up to the ceiling, pretending to contemplate it for a minute before looking down and raised his brow at her again in response to her second statement as she said it. "I think that part is in need of some debate though, as i do quite a bit of work during those sleepless night, and i think that you staying up to care for such a precious gift would certainly be an enlightening experience no?"

Carliah giggled at him and kissed his cheek. "Yes, but I'm going to be the one who has to stay home with that gift all day. When am I supposed to sleep?" She explained smiling happily. She paused for a moment thinking before asking him another question. "Are you happy? It's kind of hard for me to tell what you're feeling right now, and that's a feat not many can accomplish," She told him as she walked over to the chair as his desk and sat down. She continued to stare at him as she waited for an answer.

"Of course, why do you ask Carliah?" Yusan crossed his hands behind him and turned to her, a light smile on his lips as he looked at her, thinking to himself in that moment about several different things, so many thoughts ran through his mind that it was hard to pin them down so he had to sort through them one by one until he had a clear picture of what he was thinking. "After all, not much to not be happy about dont you agree?" @[member="Carliah Dakrone"]

"Good point, I'm excited.... I never really thought about ever having a kid before, but... Well I'm really happy about how this turned out. I can't imagine a better father than you," She said with a cheerful smile. She looked up at him with the smile still on her face and waited patiently for a response from him.

"Im sure there are others that are much better than i am." He leaned against the desk and looked at the far wall, his eyes scanning over the opposite wall that lay infront of him. "So what exactly happens now then?" Yusan's head turned and his eyes peered at Carliah as he stood there. @[member="Carliah Dakrone"]

"I'm not entirely sure," she replied with a yawn. She leaned over onto his desk and laid her head on her arms, which where folded on top of the desk. She was really tired, probably due to the fact that she was pregnant. She glanced up at Yusan and yawned again. "I'm tired, are you done here? Can we go home?" She asked him, staring up at him and yawning again. She was looking forward to sleeping.

"Im nearly done with things here... i can finish it at home." He turned and gathered up the datapads and papers scattered over the desk, his hands stacking the items into piles and organizing them as his eyes shot over the surface of the table and double checking he had everything. "Ok i think thats everything, come on then sleepy, no need for you to pass out and me carry you." @[member="Carliah Dakrone"]

"Aw, I wanted you to carry me!" She whined as she followed him out the door. As soon as she reached their apartment collapsed onto the couch and fell asleep.


A few months went by and Carliah's belly continued to grow. Pretty soon she was showing quite obviously and she could feel the baby moving around. She yawned as she walked through their apartment, picking up the datapad she left on the counter in his kitchen. She walked over to Yusan and handed it to him. "There should be a calendar on here with my appointments listed on it. I think I have one today to determine the gender of the baby. Can you check what time it's at?" She asked him as she passed the datapad over. "And you're going with me to the appointment. I don't give a damn if you have to work." She replied, smirking.

Yusan looked up from what he was doing and raised a brow at her as he took the datapad and let his hands move over the screen and scan its contents with his eyes, his hands gliding across the surface. "Lets see, looks like its in a few hours, doesnt seem too long from now, and understood on the whole work thing, im sure that such a thing is too interesting to pass up." @[member="Carliah Dakrone"]

Carliah nodded and dragged him out the door and to her appointment. She was excited. She was hoping the child would be a girl. She wasn't really sure what Yusan wanted the child to be. She bounced up and down in her chair a little in the office waiting for her name to be called. She was really excited for her appointment. She glanced over at Yusan, wondering what her was feeling.

And for some reason or the other, HK was there filling in the doctor's appointment. Or maybe he just needed to hide out so he drugged the doctor and poor sod was now stuck in a closet. But probably not.
Anyway, the door to the waiting room would open and the droid would come out wearing blue scrubs over his metal body and white doctor's coat,
"Alright, orga- my friends, let us see who is next on the list."
He would look over the paper he held in his hands with a note-pad
"Yusan Fence and Carlah.. Dark-One?"
He would look up slightly as he mispronounced their names, chances were on purpose, it was a thing they did in doctor's offices

"I am able to see you now, right this way."
He opened up the door for them, holding it and motioned for them to come with him.

Carliah ignored the mispronunciation, instead leaping up and grabbing Yusan's hand. She tugged him out of his chair. "Come on! Let's go find out whether the baby will be a boy or a girl!" she giggled excitedly as she followed the droid, dragging her boyfriend behind her. She didn't question the fact that it was a droid, doctors were busy, it wasn't abnormal to see droids programmed to perform medical procedures and tasks.

Yusan blinked as he was pulled out of the chair and for the most part dragged down the hall by her, a grin on his face as he followed her and the... automaton that was their doctor appearently. Once in the same room he sat down and cross his arms in front of him and soon waited for what ever was going to happen to do such. @[member="Carliah Dakrone"]
