The Cardinal class Corvette is a simplistic vessel designed to be primarily used for patrolling, scouting, and transporting dignitaries and envoys of the Templar Order. Much of its capabilities are presented in its forward facing weapons and broadside weapons. However this leaves a sizable portion of the vessel undefended, primarily the aft; though this is overcome by the vessels capability of carrying up to four starfighters to aid in defense of the vessel, though it does not completely negate the vessels weaknesses.
Its design shows that the vessel itself is intended to operate with larger sections, often a trio or more of these vessels are designated to work together during patrol missions. Likewise when it is carrying an envoy or dignitary, these vessels are often accompanied and escorted by much more heavily armed vessels for its own protection. The only lone vessels of the class that would be seen operating away from additional vessels would be those on scouting missions; however they are often not too far from additional forces.
The vessel itself is also meant to show the beliefs of the Templar Order, with the outer hull often showing the image of the Anuic; either all or a single aspect. Thus it shows that the Templar Order views these vessels, and many of those under their command, to be carriers of their holy message. When combined with larger fleet elements, the Cardinal class Corvette is often placed at the edge of the formation, further from the fleet to serve as a long range scout. Some though are stationed closer to command vessels to serve as picket defense against enemy Starfighters.

Intent:
Provide the Templar Order with a Corvette class vessel capable of ferrying limited numbers of individuals to various locations. Additionally, it is intended to provide the Templar Order with a reliable support vessel to aid in securing space lanes and patrolling the edge of their systems and borders to further protect the peoples under their reign from Pirates, Criminals and Force Users.
