Ceran lay on his stomach on top of a very large conference table, beside him on a custom bipod was a Chiru Tranquilized rife , borrowed from a fellow guild member, safely nestled in the crook of his shoulder. His finger lay across the trigger guard and his hand slowly reached over to his shoulder where a bandolier of half a dozen tranq rounds lay. He grinned slightly beneath his mask, checking that the clip was fully loaded and then placing it into the rifle.

The Bounty Hunter retracted the bolt and then placed the edge of his vizor against the scope. The HUD from his helmet quickly attached itself to the scope, and zoomed in on the building across and slightly from him. The two buildings were only a few dozen meters apart.

In that room was another conference table, similar to the one that Ceran lay on top of. The windows on the side of the room were open given the rather arid nature of this planet. Inside of the conference room was one man, he wore a business suite, his hair was slicked back and organized and a briefcase sat next to him on the table. The lettering on on the table read “Tierin Investment Firm” and the man inside seemed to fit the bill for exactly that.

“He's on his way into the building now.”

Ceran grinned slightly as the voice chirped in his ear. The man knew his job, which was decidedly unsettling. This was all a set up of course, a trap for a certain someone. Ceran had spent the last two weeks tracking the Leader of the New Rebel Alliance. Of course that had ended in little more than a dead end, but he had managed to find one of the Rebel Alliances soldiers, or something of the sort.

His first step had been bribing a Factory worker for holo-footage of the Assault, his second step had been reviewing the footage piece by piece. There had been two men in the facility, one a large Togorian, and the other a human. The humans identity had led to absolutely nothing, but the Togorian was a different matter. Though his face had not been captured wholly on any one camera Ceran had managed to piece together his appearance from seven different inputs, from there it had been a simple matter to search a well known database that the Republic had compiled of remaining Togorians.

There weren't many left after what Zambrano had done.

Eventually the database had led Ceran to the man that was coming today, Mrrew, the head of the Beast Hunters Guild. Supposedly a man of great combat ability and moral position, just the kind of man that would work for the Rebel Alliance, or so Ceran thought.

So he had orchestrated this little set up. The business man down below was an executive within the Tierin Investment firm and Ceran had bribed him to hold this little meeting with Mrrew, a way to lure him into the trap by the appeal of expanding his business.

“Hold him steady, I’ll take it from there.” He just hoped these darts worked as advertised.

(Nice choice for a weapon, Mrrew totes his Chiru rifle all over the place most of the time. XD)

Mrrew entered the room, dressed in his usual attire minus his Chiru rifle- last time he'd brought it to a buisness meeting it hadn't gone down to well. His sword and pistol, however, hung from his belt per usual. "Mister Tilliar?" The buisness man nodded, hiding his nervousness at the situation quite well, and raised his hand towards Mrrew. The Togorian took the human's hand in his own, shook, and took a seat at the extra large chair he'd arranged for. "Right. So it's my understanding Tierin Investment is interested in investing in the Guild?" Another investor could certainly be beneficial- it could help with the upcoming project Mrrew was preparing for. He had plenty enough already, of course, but every little credit helped. He was completely unaware that he was being watched- that he was being hunted. Ironic, if you think about it. But a predator, a hunter, rarely has the same instincts prey do- the sixth sense to know when they're being watched. The farthest thing from his mind at the moment was the Rebel Alliance. He'd been drifint g away from it, so to speak, since the Guild had gotten more sucessful. He still participated, of course. He still organized the troops, and trained them when asked, but he found himself spending less and less time at their base, or with the soldiers. The fact that a bounty had been posted for the RA's leader for something that he participated in didn't help much either... He couldn't afford to lose his buisness repuation for being associated with what the greater galaxy identified as terrorists. He hadn't the slightest idea that his identity had been discovered through what he'd already done, and he didn't have the slightest idea that someone was coming for him, that someone was already there. The only thing on his mind at the moment was how to secure an investor. "How much are you looking to invest?"

His eyes drifted open slightly as the massive Togorian walked up to the smaller business man. Part of him second guessed the tranquilizer serum inside of his rifle. Could it really manage to take down someone that big?

Yes, yes it could. The tranqs were designed to take down Rancors and other massive beasts, if he hit it right, this Togorian should fall flat on his face. Letting out a breath into his mask Ceran steadied himself, pressing the rifle against his helmet against and coming to rest. He let stead breaths fill his lungs, in and out, in and out. The rifle swayed with every breath, the back end moving ever so slightly as the barrel steadies itself on the bipod.

“Well Mr...Mrrew”

The idiot questioned the big cat but moved slightly away from the window towards his briefcase, giving Ceran a perfect Shot.

“My firm is prepared to invest Fifty Million Standard Cre-”

Ceran stopped listening, instead he honed the Tranq rifle in on his target. He placed the perfectly calibrated sights at the base of the Togorians neck. One last big breath entered his lungs, and his finger slipped onto the trigger.

With three quick successive squeezes Ceran shot three darts directly towards Mrrew.

Mrrew's head snapped towards the noise, though it was barely audible even close up to the human ear, just as the three darts found their target, one after another. SmartTranq was an amazing forumla- mutating itself as soon as it entered a target's bloodstream, one dart could take down a Rancor in ten seconds. Three darts can take down a Togorian instantly. Mrrew didn't even have time to think, he'd heard a sound, sounded incredibly familiar, and then nothing. The Togorian slumped effortlessly forward on the table, his weight briefly bringing the table up on two legs before it noisly clattered back down.

(Sorry for the short post. Wasn'ts ure what to put.)

(It's fine, i don't know what else you could have done XD. Going to GM you a bit for obvious reasons! If you want me to edit just say so.)

Ceran's head rose away from his rifle, eyes eyes narrowing slightly as his HUD zoomed in on the Togorians sleeping body.

“Well, that went about as smoothly as could be expected.” The message was transmitted over the radio and the business man looked towards where Ceran sat with his rifle an gave a nod. The Bounty Hunter rolled his eyes, and jumped up onto the table. The Chiru Rifle was immediately swung over his back, the metal clattering against his armorweave suit. Quickly he made his way down the turbo-lift, rushing across the street and into the other building.

By the time he arrived in the room the Business man had taken up a “defensive” position next to the door, holding a small blaster. Ceran eyed him for a few seconds, then jerked his hand out the door. The business man moved to go but then stopped, holding out his hand.

“Half now.” Ceran said giving him a stack of credits. “Half when I'm done.”

The man nodded and headed out the door.

Ceran rolled his eyes again, hating to use the go between to finish his business. Carefully he walked over towards the great Togorian, stepping up to the monstrous alien and grasping his arm. He picked up the thing, then let it drop. As if in confirmation the arm fell listlessly down and clattered against the creatures thick body. Ceran nodded to himself, then grasped both arms behind the aliens back. He placed a pair of Energy Cuffs on the creature.

Energy Cuffs had a reputation for being far stronger than Stun Cuffs, and in theory the bindings should be nearly impossible to break...he hoped.

After placing the cuffs on him Ceran grasped the Togorians weapons, drawing them from his sides and placing them far away on the other side of the room after putting a tiny listening device into the pistol. He then walked back over to the Togorian and steeled himself. With a heave that very nearly threw out his back Ceran grasped the creature and pulled him to the side of the room, propping him up against one of the outer walls. Letting out a heavy sigh of relief Ceran pulled the Chiru rifle from his back along with a small box.

He opened the box, revealing smelling salts that would rouse Mrrew from his coma, placing the box carefully under Mrrews nose Ceran took half a dozen steps back and pointed the rifle at the large cat.

“Easy now Hunter, I just want to ask some questions.” He hoped those words would have a calming effect on the monstrous alien.

(All's good. :D)

Someone was saying something. A voice. A strange voice... Mrrew's eyes slowly opened, blinking several times. Slowly, the blur started to clear away as the smelling salts canceled out the tranqulizer in his system, and he could see clearly. THe first thing he noticed was that he couldn't move his arms. The Togorian looked down at the energy cuffs, and abruptly tried to stand. That was difficult enough with your arms tied together- but with he tranqulizer still in his system, he could barely move. All that accomplished was causing him to collapse back against the wall, growling deep in his throat. The tranqulizer's sluggish effect on his mind was quickly dissolving due to the smelling salts- allowing him to think clearly. He was stunned, with something. That noise.. he reconized the noise just before he lost conciousness... His eyes narrowed when he saw the weapon his attacker was holding. A Chiru Rifle. That explained a lot... He'd probably used SmartTranq... But why?

The Togorian growled again, deep in his throat, and kept his eyes on the man's visor- looking almost as if he could see right through the helmet. He'd gone into Leviothon's caves, paraded through Ternetatek breeding grounds, fought the K'kayeh Dragon, and punched out a Hssiss- he wasn't paticularly scared of a bounty hunter. However, he reconized that he could be shot at any time. There was a difference between a lack of fear and a lack of intelligence. He didn't move.

"What do you want?"

Ah, straight to business, Ceran could respect that.

“Some time ago you aided the Rebel Alliance in an armed raid on Charros IV. This assistance and several other factors have led me to believe that you are part of the Rebel Alliance.” Ceran felt the need to explain himself and his cause for being here, though perhaps cutting straight to the questions might have been better. “The Tion Hegemony has placed a Bounty on the Leader of that organization, and intend to collect.”

By now it should be rather clear to Mrrew what Ceran was actually after. This man was by no means an idiot, in fact it was the opposite. The Togorian had taken a niche market and grown a massive galaxy spanning business out of it, and what was that Market? Hunting rare and exotic creatures, because of that Ceran felt a certain kinship with Mrrew, and he held a certain amount of respect for the Togorian.

Though he wasn't a Bounty Hunter, so this was all still okay as far as the Guild was concerned.

“I want his or her name, face, and any other information you have. Give me that, I let you go, give you your weapons back, and we can both go on our merry way and hopefully never see each other again.” He doubted that it would go down like that, but he would hold to his part at least.

Mrrew's eyes narrowed, though he managed not to show any other reaction. He knew about his participation on Charros IV... What else did he know? How did he know that? Fantastic. He should have never shown his face in public with the Rebel Alliance... That was a definitive mistake. The bounty hunter could be bluffing, however... Maybe he didn't know? Maybe he was guessing? It could be any number of things... Plus, stalling could be beneficial. The man from the investment firm... What happened to him? The Hunter probably had him tranqulized too. Which meant when he woke, he could contact help... Mrrew just had to stall until then. "And what makes you think i'm associated with terrorists?"

Ceran held up one finger as if telling Mrrew to hold on for a few seconds, he dug into his pocket for a few moments and retrieved a holo-display device. Still holding the Chiru Rifle trained on Mrrew he flicked the switch on the device with one hand.

What showed was a series of small snippets from six different CCTV holocameras throughout the Charros IV facility. Each snippet held a different piece of Mrrew and the final image that showed was the snippets reconstructed together to show what very closely resembled Mrrew standing in place over the Holo-Display image. Ceran let the image stay for a few moments as he further explained himself.
“You were careful enough not to show your face, but I know a few good technicians. After what Zambrano did to your homeworld, there aren't many of you guys left, finding you wasn't hard.” He scowled slightly and there was a hint of disgust in his tone as he mentioned the Togorian Genocide, clearly he wasn't a fan.

“I know you're associated with them, I know you know who their leader is, and I’m going to ask you again. Name, Face, info, simple as that. Don't sacrifice yourself from them.” He stashed the display device in his pocket again. "I've got all day."

Mrrew kicked himself mentally for being stupid enough to attend the factory raid, but stayed stonefaced externally. The Togorian flinched slightly at the mention of Zambrano's massacre, however. Those of his tribe that hadn't fought had mostly hidden until it was over... but thousands upon thousands still died.* After a moment, Mrrew pushed the memory out of his mind, and repsonded to the holographic image [member="Ceran Moerelle"] had found. "So you single me out because of my species...?" Mrrew attempted to show amusement in his tone, but it came off more as anxiety. "Because I'm a Togorian, you assume I was the Togorian involved on Charros IV? That's profiling. And what's to say he was even a Togorian? He could be Cathar, Trianii, Horsani, any number of things..." Mreww eyed the door. How much tranqulizer did he hit the investor with? He could be waking up soon... He just had to stall a little while longer.

*I know very little of the massacre, I joined after that event. ._.

(Most of the species was wiped out here by Kaine or forced into Slavery. It was a huge thread and big deal at the time as it is one of the few genocides that occurred here on SWRP. If you can find the thread its worth a read.)

“Yeah. No.” Ceran said placing his hand on the rifle. “Togorians have certain features that Cathar and the rest you listed don't, not the least of which is your added size and distinct fur patterns. I'm sorry to tell you this, but you guys kind of stand out. The image i have matches ones of your public appearances to a 94% certainty. If you're going to run with terrorists, you probably shouldn't be the head of a very popular Company. Which by the way is great.”

The off handed complement was strange, but truthful.

He wished he was a force user so he could just rip the thoughts from this mans mind. “Listen, I'm gonna level with you. I know it was you, you know it was you, hell I have definitive proof that it was in fact, you. No one is coming for you, no one in this building is going to help you, and I have all the time in the world to make you tell me what I want.”

Again he wished he could use the force, or that he had some sort of truth serum. Ceran didn't like the thought of torture. It was not that he was squeamish or dainty about it, he simply didn't like the act of it. Torture seemed unnecessarily ruthless to him. Why accomplish something with a blade when you could accomplish the same thing with words.

Though of course, words may not be enough. “I'm not after you, I don't care about you. I want whoever runs the Rebel Alliance, they are my acquisition.”

To a Hunter, that was an important difference. Acquisitions could either be killed, or captured, not both. Mrrew was not an acquisition, so he could be killed and tortured in this state.

“Why protect them anyway?” That was a genuine curiosity for him.

([member="Ceran Moerelle"] Ah, I see. Any idea what itmight've been called?)

...The stalling wasn't going to work if no one was coming. And he had the feeling the bounty hunter wasn't lying. He might have been holding him there against his will, and badgering him for information, but he didn't seem a liar. That much was good, at least. Mrrew frowned. There wasn't any easy way to prove that he wasnt himself- he had more or less perfect evidence. Denying it wouldn't get anyone anywhere. The Togorian shook his head, frowning. "You'll discard any listening devices, comlinks, and recording tools. You will also destroy all copies of your little tape." He was pretty sure the Bounty Hunter wasn't as two faced as most- but that didn't mean he wanted evidence linking him to 'terrorists' floating around. And if he wanted the information- he'd probably agree to it. If he didn't agree to it? Then it was just a matter of who's more stubborn...

(No sorry I forget, PM Kaine, he'll know)

“I have only one copy, the one in my pocket.” He pulled out the holo-display device and then placed it back into his pocket as if to assure him that was the only one. He then used his off hand to reach up to the bottom of his mask and pull free a small comm-link device. The thing was tossed onto the ground and then was pressed beneath his boots. “I don't doubt the Tion Hegemony has a copy as well, but if they weren't smart enough to put it together by now, they won't ever be.”

He was sure the members of the Hegemony were plenty smart, after all they had the foresight to hire him. It probably just didn't occur to them to do what he did.

“You tell me what I want, the tape is yours.” The steadiness of his voice told the truth of his intentions. If he could get this done without further harm to Mrrew or anyone else, then he would be ecstatic. Of course this was hardly the last step in the hunt, but it was another giant leap forward.

After he confirmed whatever Mrrew told him.

(Ironically, I was just discussing a similer situation as this with the RA leader, only a slightly different scenario, where I'd turn myself in instead of getting captured. :p)

Mrrew nodded. He had to give the bounty hunter information, or neither of them would ever get out of here. Maybe not valid information. But information nontheless. "If I tlel you, you leave. I never see you again. And I am not mentioned to her- this information was gotten from a slicer, or something." Mrrew waited for confirmation before continuing. "Her name is Kora King." The Togorian rattled off the name of one of the (npc) marines that had been with the alliance almost as long as he had. "She rarely leaves obscurity- only certain members have even seen her." The most convincing lies contain the most truth. Research on Kora would show very little, only that she basically dissipeared around the same time the Rebel Alliance first surfaced, only showing up on occasion. Much like the real leader of the Rebel Alliance. He'd just contact her once this was over with, make sure she hid, and no harm done... Plus it threw anyone who may be looking for her far off the trail of the real leader of the Rebels. "I'm done affiliating myself with groups who bring bounty hunters to my doorstep..." He only hoped he was convincing. He wasn't exactly the best actor.

In the most fluid motion possible Ceran shouldered the Chiru rifle, then with the same arm he drew one of the WESTAR-43's from his thigh. He pointed the weapon, and then squeezed the trigger. He sent a single maser bolt into the Togorians shoulder.

His voice became fierce and hard.

“I'm getting very tired of playing games. Her real name.” His voice was steady as a rock, the hand that held the charric was unmoving, and his gaze behind his helmet stared straight through the massive Togorian that if unbound could tear him into bits.

And it was all a bluff.

He had no idea if that was the Rebel Leaders real name, he had no idea if Mrrew was telling the truth or lying, but his reaction to what Ceran just did would be enough of a tell that the Bounty Hunter could gauge the truth, though it likely soured any future relationship.

Well kriff. The Togorian made a loud sound vbery reminiscent of a Nexu roaring as the maser bolt slammed into his shoulder. At this point, many people would be sobbing, or begging [member="Ceran Moerelle"] to let him go, maybe even admit they were lying and give them the real information. Mrrew shoved his paws under him, and leaped at the bounty hunter. He wasn't aiming to kill him, he couldn't really do much with his hands cuffed, but a 8'1 heavily muscled giant cat jumping on you can do damage all on it's own. His goal was to unarm the hunter. He was planning on doing just this as soona s the tranqulizer worked itself out os his system enough to move, which it had by now, and as soon as the man was stupid enough to lower his rifle. And he did just that. This wasn't what he was hoping for, of course. He was hoping he'd go off and chase Kora around the galaxy while the real leader of the Rebels hunted him down. Plan B was slightly less clever. Plan B was beat the hell out of him.

(D- Dayum... Wasn't expecting that. XD)

Unfortunately for Mrrew, Ceran had never quite relaxed. Oh sure his stance had been, and his word, but when one faced down a giant ten foot tall killer cat you never really quite let loose all of your muscles. As soon as Mrrew Jumped at him, Ceran moved. He dashed to the side with a great leap.

Before he could get clear all the way however Ceran felt Mrrews side strike him, the huge cat had simply been too large to dodge completely. So as he found himself sailing through the air he was body checked by the massive Togorian. He felt pain lance through him, though not enough to disable him. The Chiru rifle flew from his shoulder, sailing out through the open window and down into the streets below.

Ceran himself came crashing down a few feet away from Mrrew, his hands immediately scrambling into his coat.

His free hand came up from the coat with a small disc*, his other hand still holding the blaster. Ceran didn't want to kill Mrrew, but he would if he had to. He pressed a small button on the disc and threw it towards Mrrew. In an instant the disc split apart to reveal a single wide beam.

Hopefully it took the cat down...again.

(*Got approved today but subbed before the thread started so i hope its okay, if not i'll edit.)

Kriff. Again. He wasn't expecting that. His reflexes were still there, though, now that the tranqulizer was compeltely out of his system. Ceran had handcuffed him, yes. But he'd also practically given him a personal shield- an energy field. Mrre was quick to raise his handcuffs to the incoming beam, attempting to stop it in his tracks That worked in theory, but not when your shoulder was injured. He was a fraction of a second to slow. Instead of wrapping around his wrists, they wrapped around his arms,s preading their numbing effect i his organic arm, and acorss the metallic surface of his cybernetic one up into his shoulder. Mrrew slumped back against the ground, growling deep in his throat, and casting a glare at [member="Ceran Moerelle"] much like a trapped Terentatek's. One that said 'When I'm able to, I will kill you. And it will hurt.'

(Nice gadget. :D)

With the Bola wrapped around him the man should now be completely and utterly numb, almost paralyzed at this point. He let out a sigh, and pushed himself back up against the wall. He stretched his neck slightly and took a kink out of his back. With slow deliberate steps he moved towards Mrrew, standing a respectable few feet away from him.

“I'm sure you will, but we have business still.” He was now sure that the name he had been given earlier was utterly false.

The monster had been calm and complacent until he had called his bluff...well he had also shot him, but still the rage had clearly been meant to overpower and kill not simply because of being shot. Ceran was never more sure that the cat had not been telling the truth. “My offer still stands. Tell me the name, and I give you the tape and let you walk.”

A hunter was true to his words.

Mrrew was still growling deep in his throat- like some poor animal in a Circus's cage, waiting to be let out so he can maul his trainer. However, he was not angry enough to be stupid. He just changed tactics. "No one knows her name. I've only seen her once." Which, actually, wasn't far from the truth. Virtually no one in the Rebel Alliance had spoken to her directly. Mrrew was one of the few- and he had indeed only seen her once. "Human. Black hair. Light skin." Which was, in fact, the description of the Rebel Alliance's leader... as well as about three trilliion other human females. "Calls herself the Benefactor." Again, true, but tat name was only used to member sof the Rebel Alliance- researching it would discover nothing. He was giving him all the information he wanted, yet no information at all. The best part was, Ceran could probably tell he wasn't lying. "That's all I know about her. You want more informatino on the Rebels? You take these fething things off."
