Ceran lay on his stomach on top of a very large conference table, beside him on a custom bipod was a Chiru Tranquilized rife , borrowed from a fellow guild member, safely nestled in the crook of his shoulder. His finger lay across the trigger guard and his hand slowly reached over to his shoulder where a bandolier of half a dozen tranq rounds lay. He grinned slightly beneath his mask, checking that the clip was fully loaded and then placing it into the rifle.
The Bounty Hunter retracted the bolt and then placed the edge of his vizor against the scope. The HUD from his helmet quickly attached itself to the scope, and zoomed in on the building across and slightly from him. The two buildings were only a few dozen meters apart.
In that room was another conference table, similar to the one that Ceran lay on top of. The windows on the side of the room were open given the rather arid nature of this planet. Inside of the conference room was one man, he wore a business suite, his hair was slicked back and organized and a briefcase sat next to him on the table. The lettering on on the table read “Tierin Investment Firm” and the man inside seemed to fit the bill for exactly that.
“He's on his way into the building now.”
Ceran grinned slightly as the voice chirped in his ear. The man knew his job, which was decidedly unsettling. This was all a set up of course, a trap for a certain someone. Ceran had spent the last two weeks tracking the Leader of the New Rebel Alliance. Of course that had ended in little more than a dead end, but he had managed to find one of the Rebel Alliances soldiers, or something of the sort.
His first step had been bribing a Factory worker for holo-footage of the Assault, his second step had been reviewing the footage piece by piece. There had been two men in the facility, one a large Togorian, and the other a human. The humans identity had led to absolutely nothing, but the Togorian was a different matter. Though his face had not been captured wholly on any one camera Ceran had managed to piece together his appearance from seven different inputs, from there it had been a simple matter to search a well known database that the Republic had compiled of remaining Togorians.
There weren't many left after what Zambrano had done.
Eventually the database had led Ceran to the man that was coming today, Mrrew, the head of the Beast Hunters Guild. Supposedly a man of great combat ability and moral position, just the kind of man that would work for the Rebel Alliance, or so Ceran thought.
So he had orchestrated this little set up. The business man down below was an executive within the Tierin Investment firm and Ceran had bribed him to hold this little meeting with Mrrew, a way to lure him into the trap by the appeal of expanding his business.
“Hold him steady, I’ll take it from there.” He just hoped these darts worked as advertised.
