My entry in this thread was lost in the crash. Ergo, I'm going to redo it a different way. Fabula's main theme is linked in my sig, but I'll put it here again for posterity and explain why.
It's basically her perfect song. The runners up are "Demons" by Imagine Dragons, which relates to her intense fight to keep herself from hurting everyone around her, and "The End of Heartache" by Killswitch Engage, which is almost a flawless anthem to her mother.
Devils Never Cry starts out very soft, very mellow. Classical. Fabula at rest is a gentle creature, delicate and soft as a baby's butt. Within a few seconds, the real song hits. Just like Fabs beneath her shell of demure sensibility, the real song is driving and violent, relentless and dark. Several of the lyrics are perfect fits.More important, about halfway through the song, a harmony line starts up, speaking of family ("my father" instead of "my mother"), loss, withholding your tears, and keeping calm despite the black rage building up around you. This is perfect. Fabula's mind and even her soul are quite dichotomous, constantly struggling between being the sweet, centered girl that everyone loves and a psychotic rage-demon that obliterates everything within reach.'My chosen torture makes me stronger ; in a life that craves the hunger'
'A life of vengeance, a passive test ; until the grave I will rest'
'Onward to the sacred battlefield ; where justification and limits are revealed ; tools of steel, in rage they conquer'
'A justice rage for all to feel ; with innocent cries and hatred squeals'
'The gore of evil seems to satisfy, when slain and maimed and pacified'
