Character Traits That You Would Like To Display More

What are some character traits, quirks, talents, or general things that you have in mind for your character, but you don't get to explore often? For example, Preliat is a talented keybed player, but hasn't played much- if at all since the dark harvest.

People need to Roleplay weaknesses a lot better. Far to often I see unbalanced sheets. I've yet to see a character on the forums that's "Physically weak" for their gender or race; or even painfully average. And I'm sure there are a few people like that, but it really needs to be addressed more. Strength isn't the only thing being abused. Most of the weaknesses I see are along the lines of stubborn, or introverted, etc etc. Things that are actually good weaknesses include arachnophobia, a fear of heights, poor hand-eye coordination, racism/bigotry, alcoholism, addiction. Things that can have substance. I just don't see it RPed enough on the forums.

[member="Lurcano Car'dann"] I'm physically obese...

I'll also eat you through the force so I guess it sorta balances out.

I wish I could RP more about being alive.

That'd be nice.

Oh, and having a play date with [member="Darth Vornskr"] again :)

I got more weaknesses I keep secret cause I like secrets <3 (And I kinda want some feedback on them, can I PM you and get some on em?)

Though, I'd love to do more on Ferus's nack for baking. Dude loves his pastries.

[member="Lurcano Car'dann"] That's kinda my spiel usually with characters.

This ones fat and diabetic.

Another ones fat and diabetic.

My latest one is fat, diseased, and hates spiders.

Hmm... a lot of my characters are fat.

Yet OOC, I am the furthest from fat.

Explain?

[member="Darth Ferus"] Sure. You can trust me to not metagame anything, and I'd like some feedback on mine as well if you please.

[member="Darth Voracitos"] Embrace your inner fatty. If it wasn't for the fact that being fat makes you look disgusting, I'd have never lost weight. You never get cold, and you always have room for extra food. And I don't know about you, but I live to eat. Or eat to live? Same difference.

Also, one thing that I have also noticed. Is a weakness that eventually becomes nullified. For example, I once saw a race who was genetically blind and the man had circumvented that by using the force to sense things around him or using sensors to act as his eyes. A weaknesses that's bypassed no longer acts as a weaknesses; and I often see people who start off with some decent weaknesses but as they RP it slowly dwindles to one or two or even none at all.

Fair enough.

Though Silara wasn't blind until a month ago. She has been mentally ill since birth, however.

Ahem. I think you already know what my character is like, so I don't have to list my weaknesses...

Anyways, I'd like to show out a little bit more of Emma's strong will (which she actually has), but it's practically impossible, considering what a trauma I have given her.

I focus mostly on character development, so my character's weaknesses are usually more generalized. For example, Ali Hadrix has a weakness of being terrible at long term planning and being very flighty and impulsive. This isn't a combat weakness until she's put in command of a large group in battle, and her tactics end up being short-sighted, and her style more reliant on reactionary tactics that are poorly planned and thought through.
Emotionally this hurts as well, it's prevented her from being successful in anything she's yet accomplished, and if she tries holding onto a relationship she might as well be grasping a stick of butter.

I think when it comes to combat weaknesses, people sometimes forget to play to their character's best abilities, and instead play to the best of their own.

[member="Emma Norewood"]: I just looked over your char bio, and I like those strengths and weaknesses you've listed. That's a solid set, and I'm going to go stalking your threads now to see how you've played them off.

[member="Lurcano Car'dann"] I see your point. I try not to be a person who do these things or I feel if one weakness goes perhaps then add another? I did get to play out Shuduc Macars weakness she never knew she had. Being a race naturally using force sight and no natural sight of her own being unexpectedly hurled into the netherworld was interesting. A sith had to rely on somebody she didint know to guide her. For Lora she actually is classiest I guess you can say. She hates nobles and so has passed up good ship crew and assistants due to this. Now as yet it hasint bit her in the hide but who knows.

And a note I understand the issue stated but also I think some people expect too much of flaws. Not everybody has a debilitating weakness. Sometimes their flaws are less pronounced but cause bigger problems along the way. hell while never stated my jedi padawan is...average in force powers. Component and growing stronger yes but no more so than I'd say any decent padawan who is being studious. Basically in that regard shes...average. This came to ahead in a battle with a dark jedi master who notably on his flaws sucked at lightsaber combat and didn't even own one. But was a strong force user. In the duel she had to resort to very quirky clever uses of here light saber to even barely match up to his powers at one point. She still lost the fight but yeah to over come it she had to take something she had a strength in and try to adapt it. To me thats a fun thing to do with flaws is for them to make your character adapt when they are at a disadvantage.

I adore writing my characters as just casually going about their day, doing normal people things and getting into awkward situations. Especially the really dark, villainous ones. It's fascinating to see them so humanized but I rarely get the chance to explore it.

I also love to explore weak points, fears and vices etc. Satoryu has a high level of anxiety towards romantic or sexual encounters and has recently taken up smoking. Her romantic preferences are honestly something of a black hole and I'd love to explore what she'd be like in a relationship because I honestly don't know what that would be, or if it would even be possible.

This is brilliant. I love filthy, disgraceful Sith
