Allyson seared the steaks all around and placed the remaining ones in the fridge near her. She looked up to see her last night’s lover walk over and finally find some energy to move. The Corellian wondered if she had done too much the night before, but that’s just want happened. The steaks continued to sear and then found themselves in the over to finish cooking. Alyson was cutting potatoes and tossing them in another pot. “Haha, no no not today.”

She threw the potatoes onto the stove and let them begin to soften. Allyson began to whip eggs while everything else continued to cook. The potatoes began to boil and Allyson looked into the pot and threw some salt in to help season them. Eggs were another story and she began to cook the scramble getting it to the point where the eggs were slightly still wet looking. It was then she looked into the fridge and grabbed the cheese. She flipped the egg exposing the chick yellow and she sprinkled the white cheese into it.

“You need something that will fill you up and help you recover from last night. I can’t have you still being tired tonight.” Looking over at the girl, there was a hint and a look that filled that gaze. Allyson wasn’t done with her and that was obvious from this morning’s attempt at more. The two omelets were finished and the potatoes were drained from the boiling water. They found themselves in a pan and were quickly covered in brown butter, rosemary and a pinch of salt. They didn’t take long and were soon plated along with the eggs, the steaks followed and were topped with a small amount of brown butter and cooked to a nice mid-rare. Placing the plate on the table in front of Kaili, she leaned over and used her now free hand to run a single finger under the girl’s chin. There was a smile and then a soft kiss on the girl’s guided lips.

“I’ll try not to be so enthusiastic tonight; I didn’t realize I’d wear you out this much.” Allyson took her seat and looked at her own plate with happiness. It was something her mother would have made for her and her brother before school. "Traladon steak, potatoes and a traladon cheese omelet al la Corellia" Allyson smiled and tried to figure out where to start with the food. [member="Kaili Talith"]

A momentary fake-pout spread on Kaili’s lips. She’d be getting no eggs named after a traitor to a war cause. As much as she could say she enjoyed the taste of Eggs Genevieve, the idea of Allyson cooking up whatever for her was just as good. Mainly because it meant Kaili didn’t have to. She wouldn’t ever admit to that, but with time that much would become evident -- if it hadn’t already. Her head rested in her hand as she propped herself on the table. Her eyes followed Allyson’s every movement, admired her skills with the knife and spatula. Obviously it wasn’t better than Kaili herself was, she would never ever admit to that, but Allyson was good none the less.

Then came the mention of a retry. Kaili perked her brows in surprise before a grin set over her.

“Cool your propulsors there, Herder.” She spoke mid-laugh. “We still have a whole-...” Except they didn’t. Not today. “Half a day ahead of us. Don’t jump to any conclusions just yet.”

The food was served. Kaili grabbed her fork and knife and promptly began to cut the food up into little pieces. First the omelette, then the meat. Who cut potatoes anyway? No, those were on-the-go slicers. With precision she pinned one piece of omelette onto the form before going for the meat and the potato. She stuck it in her mouth and...

“Woaaah.” Followed by continued chewing. “Thish ish good.”

Proper Kaili didn’t function at less than thirty percent charge. She swallowed the food and nodded at Allyson.

“Still gets me how you know all this stuff.” Nod turned into a head shake. “Ships, mothers, I don’t care. This is still awesome.”

[member="Allyson Locke"]

A soft smile spread across Allyson’s face while she watched Kaili eat something that was Corellian. Musing she made some sort of joke in the back of her mind about eating something Corellian that had nutritional value. Allyson choked on a potato for the most part and just stifled the laughter she felt coming on. There were memories tied to this dish, mostly because it was the first one her mother had showed her how to make. The rosemary to the potatoes was something she picked up on her travels, but still the dish in spirit was her mom’s. “I’m happy you like it.” Allyson figured she should learn some Borleian dishes so she could offer the girl across from her some comfort food from her culture.

Another chuckle escaped through the chewing of the Corellian as she looked at the girl. Cooling her propulsers was something she had never been told, but it was clever. Leaning on the table she eyed the blonde Borleian and raised an eyebrow curiously. “We do have half a day, but I thought that would be enough time for you to recover.” Leaning back, she shrugged and ate another potato. “I guess not, then does that mean I’m sleeping on the couch tonight?”

Allyson of course assumed she’d be back in the capsule bed with Kaili especially after last night. She figured mostly that they had moved beyond the whole ‘she’s my friend, but I care deeply for her’ phase. Though with Kaili, Allyson was still unsure about her, the girl despite being hermitic – she was unpredictable. Possibly a reason why Allyson was so infatuated with her. There was a sense of keeping on your toes around the girl and there was a thrill especially when she could turn and throw you into a tree. A memory that had turned into something of a fond memory, Allyson chuckled softly and looked at Kaili.

“You are adorable when you drool by the way.” [member="Kaili Talith"]

Kaili liked to think herself multicultural when it came to food. Borleian quite simply had a precedence because of the simple fact that, well, she lived there. It was the easiest to get when you didn’t have the time or energy to cook something for yourself. She imagined the people on Atrisia was very much the same, only that their food was a lot more interesting than “add pineapple and fried rice to the mix.” Which in itself was a drastic oversimplification of what it meant to cook Borleian foods. Pineapple was just something Kaili quite simply didn’t enjoy at all.

Orange dots set themselves on Allyson. A grin spread on the young Kaili’s face again.

“Well, I hadn’t considered the couch...” She mused. “But if you volunteer, sure.”

“Means I get to keep my dignity in tact for at least a night.”

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Allyson stopped what she was doing, with a fork in her mouth and a piece of steak dangling at the tip of her lips, she looked towards the girl in front of her. She was willing to allow her to sleep on the couch, even after last night. Allyson ate the piece of steak and listened to the rest of what Kaili had to say. Swallowing the meat, she leaned back in the booth and shook her head. “Oh sweetie, dignity? You lost that the day you met me” She smirked and continued to eat the rest of what was on her plate. Allyson saved the last bit of egg for last since it was her favorite part of the entire dish.

Doing her best not to show that the couch bothered her, she cleared her plate and brought it to the sink. The rest of the dishes found their way into the sink where Allyson began to fill it with soapy water. She couldn’t hold it in anymore and looked at Kaili. “You’d really have me sleep on the couch? Even after last night?” There was a pout which was something that was rare on Allyson’s face. “Jeez, you give a girl the night of her life and she ships you to the couch.”

Sticking out her tongue, Allyson began to do the dishes. The more she pondered the situation she figured Kaili wouldn’t be able to handle sleeping on her own knowing that Allyson was just a few steps away. They were separated for long periods of time, why not try and make the most of the time they could share together. Though, once more [member="Kaili Talith"] was always unpredictable.

Had Kaili lost her dignity? Maybe, but she preferred to think of it as fractured more than broken. She needed some time to kick the drool habit, but in her defense that one only really came out when she was exhausted both emotionally and physically. To say that almost all encounters with Allyson had been new experiences would be an understatement. FIrst love, first kiss, first... Well, you get the picture. On top of that it was the fact that she had let someone external turn into an internal, in more ways than one. Emotional and well, once more, you get the picture again.

A small smile spread on Kaili’s lips as she finished her food and brought the dishes over to the sink. An awkward hand extended itself towards Allyson’s lower back, slid across to the other side and latched on as Kaili gently swayed her from side to side.

“No, I wouldn’t.” She chuckled and the hand let go of Allyson. “You just, you know, left yourself wide open for that one.”

“I love you, I would never let you sleep on the couch after... Well, you know.” Kaili tilted her head towards the coffin and smirked. Modesty. How convenient. “Besides, we’re both going to be spending all day on that couch as it is. You know, doing what people in relationships always do.”

Kaili slipped away before Allyson could do anything. Kneeling down in the corner of the room she withdrew two different sets of controllers. Childhood memories abound she walked on over to Allyson again.

“Sonic Plumber or Streets of Nar Shaddaa?” Devilish smirk on her lip. “Which do we pick first?”

[member="Allyson Locke"]

The touch on her back and the brief moment of closeness felt timid, but Allyson knew this was all still new to Kaili and in actuality it was new to Allyson as well. There was never a time a good time ever stayed long enough to have breakfast or even to wake up next to. Allyson wondered what life would have been like if she had stayed the night and into morning with some of her midnight lovers. None of them made her feel the same way Kaili did, even with the timid and hesitate touch. It was something that made her who she was and Allyson enjoyed that. Before she could turn and reciprocate the touch or even spray the girl with soapy water, Kaili had moved away as quickly as she had appeared.

Allyson continued doing the dishes and popped them into the washer. Her hands were dried and she listened to Kaili talk about things that couples did. The comment made Allyson think, had Kaili been in a relationship before this? Was there someone else? Her mind rewound to the moment before she had well you know with Kaili. The girl stated it was her first time, but thought could have easily have meant first time with another girl. That special feeling started to simmer away, but Allyson sighed softly and shrugged. She didn’t know what people did in relationships, so it was probably a good thing one of them knew.

Heading towards the couch she was greeted by Kaili who was holding two different sets of controllers. One of course Allyson quickly recognized as an arcade stick or fighting stick, something similar to what you would find in an arcade. These controllers were used in numerous of fighting games – which Allyson knew quite well. Grinning, she looked at the Streets of Nar Shaddaa and pointed towards it “That one.” The grin grew wider as Allyson grabbed one of the Arcade sticks from Kaili’s hands, the poor girl didn’t know who she was dealing with. During the day Allyson Locke was a Smuggler and hot shot mechanic, but by night she was Lokon – the deadliest and fiercest Street of Nar Shaddaa Player ever, placing high in several tournaments etc. “Don’t throw me into a tree if you get your butt kicked promise?” Poor poor [member="Kaili Talith"] was in for the fight of her life!

Truth be told, as much as Kaili had second hand experience, she still had no first hand experience of what it meant to be a couple either. But she knew that the gentle touches, caring and other activities were all part of it. It was a bit awkward perhaps to see her struggle so with the concept of closeness, but Kaili didn’t let that phase her and figured that was how it always worked when you were met with something new. It was just a question of getting into the groove of it, having the two of them flesh out new routines with each other and soon enough it would all be right as rain.

But that was quite clearly a thought meant for later.

Right now it was time to kick ass. Kick Allyson’s ass in cyberspace. Kaili extended her pinky to swear up and down.

“I promise not to throw you into a tree.” She remarked as her sense of competition kicked in. “You promise not to cry when I win?”

“... Miss ‘Lokon?’” Devious grin spread on Kaili’s lips. Oh the things you could find by doing a thorough search on the Holonet. “No items or upgrades, just pick a hero and/or crook you want to play as and we’ll go.”

Kaili naturally went for Greedo. Felt oddly appropriate to play as the infamously renowned bounty hunter. Of course, time and the hazards that came with word of mouth was a dangerous thing. If only the average man had known that Greedo died like a whimp in a booth and not in an extended firefight, the galaxy might just have lost a hero.

The character select screen announced Kaili as ready.

“Ready to lose?”

Locking her pinky finger with Kaili’s she grinned. “Promise, but you can’t get mad when I make you hate this game.” Allyson raised an eyebrow as Kaili mentioned her gamer tag, it was something she thought the girl would never know unless she was told. This meant that Kaili did some research on her while she was gone and Allyson didn’t know if this was a good thing or a bad thing. Taking her seat on the couch she waited for Kaili to take a seat as well, the sticks were plugged in and the game was started. Looking at all the characters she frowned when Kaili picked Greedo, the character was utterly broken and it made sense that the girl would play him.

Musing over her choices she decided to go against her usual character of Lando and went with Han Solo, the counter pick to Greedo. There were no boosts or specials, so it would be a game of skill. “Oh ouch a counter pick” Allyson grinned and the game started. The dexterity of her hands over the controls were flawless, the game itself was imbedded into her head after a few years of studying the data and such. Looking over at Kaili from the corner of her eye she could help but smile.

“Did you look me up on the Holonet while I was gone?” [member="Kaili Talith"]

Making Kaili hate the game would be hard. She already did. Competitiveness was one of those things that only got worse when the rush of defeat, or victory, faded away. More often than not Kaili made sure her opponent knew when either of them. Defeat hurt, victory was gloated. Allyson had already experienced this somewhat first hand. Maybe not quite as severe, considering she had been tossed into a tree, but the idea was the same. At least when it came to defeat.

Part of Kaili admitted to having picked Greedo in the hopes that Allyson would pick Han Solo. To see her follow through made the young woman very happy to the point where she returned the grin in full. Han Solo vs Greedo. Now there was a debate for another time.

The game started and the two girls got into ready position. First they had the pistol round. The less popular stage of the game that was later scrapped in favor of a two-round melee system instead. Kaili herself wasn’t one of those who had complained, the fact that she had two sprites in an extended firefight and later a close-quarters fistfight always had a way of making her smile.

... As long as she won.

“Of course I did.” Kaili grunted with her complete focus on the screen. “You were silent for two weeks, I thought you were dead.”

Oh, Kaili was into it. The string of small talk allowed to commence.

“I couldn’t help it! If I died you would have gotten a message from Bait – I have one wired in him in case anything happened – along with the coordinates of any and all my belongings.”

Allyson remained focused on the game as a part of her wanted to smile. Even before all of what happened between them, Kaili cared. It was an odd feeling knowing that someone cared about you the way the girl next to her did. It was like having a family. Allyson needed to stay focused on the game even though she just pushed Kaili from the probable friend zone to something like family. Biting her lower lip, she always hated this round and it frustrates her but, she was able to pull out by the skin of her teeth.

She was Han Solo, he had plot magic on his side…well until – you know…spoilers.

A spinning pistol and the words ‘PLAYER 2 WINS’ shined on the screen and Allyson looked towards Kaili and just grinned. “Round one is mine, so I hope you’re prepared for cooking dinner, because winners don’t have to cook.” It was time to start round two, which was the basic hand to hand combat. This was the round that Allyson usually excelled in. Though Han didn’t have the fastest hands in the galaxy and Greedo had a 7::3 Advantage over Han, but maybe she’d be able to pull this one out of her butt.

“Also Kaili – I told you I don’t die.”

“OH COME ON, YOU WERE ONE HIT AWAY!” An angry, hoarse scream called out into the apartment before Kaili took a deep breath and focused herself on the game again. “A single farking hit!”

Well the deep breath hadn’t worked. A bitter stare set itself on Allyson. Eyebrows furrowed, eyes burning like two orange pits of fire. Kaili wasn’t happy, Kaili was very not-happy. She closed her eyes and took another deep breath. And another.

... And another.

Then they opened again.

“I am not cooking dinner.” Kaili grinned. “We got hours until it’s time to think about dinner, this is only getting started.”

“And... I know, I just. You know...” She worried.

The game began beeping again. The two sprites got their fists up ready to duke it out in the streets. Kaili turned her attention back onto the Rodian scum fighting the Scruffy Nerf-Herder. This was going to be great.

Or so she thought. At first she had truly tried to make it an honest fight, tried to not use the admittedly broken character’s flaws. But, well, things ended up going south pretty quick. A devastating combo hit the Rodian, and that was exactly when Kaili knew what she had to do.

It was a broken character, which meant the bad player reflexes kicked in.

That meant kicks. Greedo’s kick was a hell kick targeting all three body zones, and when you were in doubt. Well, you just spammed the ever living chits out of that particular attack.

Red button, red button. Red, red, red, red, red, red, red, red, red, red, red, red, red, red, red.

Not that she expected it to work very well. At all. Her temper was already flaring up again.

Allyson quickly figured out the melt down that was occurring, she had seen it several times in players that got frustrated and knew the one magical button their character had. With Greedo it was his kicks. As long as Allyson was able to keep Han away from these kicks, she would be okay, but how would she get in? Trying to focus, she blocked out the button mashing clicking from the girl next to her and remembered that Greedo was weak and open on the top of his head when he was well, kick spamming.

Inching closer, Han quickly jumped and landed a fist several times at the very top of Greedo’s head. This continued until the round read. ‘Player Two Wins”. The dashing scoundrel did his victory pose and Allyson smirked with joy. She could feel the anger and competitiveness oozing from the girl next to her. It would be a lie to say that Allyson didn’t like getting Kaili worked up this way. It was too much fun and the way her face would wrinkle and her lips would pout was just the most adorable thing. Until of course Allyson ended up in a tree or worse. Either way, Allyson continued to press on. “Hmm I really want some traditional Boleian food or something. Oh maybe some noodles I haven’t had noodles in forever.”

Leaning over, she brushed a kiss against Kaili’s cheek. She knew this was dangerous territory and that she could very well end up like Greedo on screen. “It might still be early, but I’m going to win every time sweetheart.”

Pushing the start button, the round began again. Both characters prepared to do battle. Allyson took the moment to open up the fight and launch Han into one of his punch combos. The rhythm of her button pressing sounded like music, with minor pauses for the stick movement when there wasn’t any action to be taken or she was blocking.

Greedo fell to the ground. The controller in Kaili’s hand began whine in unfelt pain. The young woman’s eyes were set on the screen like a madwoman at an asylum trying to burn a way through the walls with a determined look. Her nostrils were flaring up, air seething through her teeth to hold back the sting of defeat. The talk of food passed her by, the touch of lips against her cheek in a mocking taunt did not. A hand quickly reached up toward’s Allyson’s face with the back looking to strike itself across her face.

It wasn’t until it was too late that Kaili realised what she was doing. A small fit of panic fell over her again as she turned in full towards her partner.

“Oh no, I’m so sorry!” She covered her mouth, yet her eyes remained wide open. “Allyson, I didn’t mean to- Oh no.”

Yet... Even then Kaili couldn’t help herself. Her other hand moved for the controller and with one light tap after another she proceeded to try and sneak her way into a victory. The panic was real, but even so was the urge to win at least once.

She had seen the smack coming and assumed she would be able to get out of the way, but she was already too far in. Her over commitment to this was her downfall. The back hand from Kaili Talith made contact with her face – which was still slightly sore from her brawl with the looters right before arriving on Borleias. Wincing she pulled back away from Kaili and held her face, it would have been a good time to actually be a healer. The boney knuckles of the girl’s back hand made proper contact with her face and that was what hurt the most. Though Allyson couldn’t be too upset, she had egged the girl on pushing her to a limit that would cause this.

“Ow ow ow!” Allyson was too busy dealing with her face to even realize Kaili had started the game again. When she did realize her health was nearly depleted. Cursing under her breath, Allyson regained some composure and attempted to come back, but it was utterly too late to come back and Kaili had her cornered. Han died and Greedo won. Frowning, she looked at Kaili. “You cheated.” Allyson deep down didn’t really care, she was enjoying the fact that Kaili did win at least once, but she wanted to play a little dirty well, two can do that.

The game started again and instead of going straight into a series of combos, Allyson reached out and moved her hand under Kaili’s controller and slipped her hand every so high on the girl’s thigh towards a place that she knew could be distracting. Allyson would have gone all in, whispering in her ear, blowing and or nibbling the girl’s neck, but she feared another smack to the face. For the time being. She wondered if this was going to work. Though depending on how determined to win Kaili was, would deem this successful or not. Either way, she was well prepared to defend which her free hand was already holding the block motion in case this play didn’t work. [member="Kaili Talith"]

Kaili merely smirked at Allyson’s accusation of cheats. Granted, part of the young woman’s psyche felt a tad guilty at it, but this was all for the greater good. The greater good that had Kaili winning and Allyson losing! The two of them allowed their eyes to revert back onto the screen. Or well, Kaili did. Allyson was as close as she always seemed to be, Kaili leaned forward in an attempt to truly focus on the game. The bombs could have gone off and Kaili would have remained unflinching in her stare at the screen. The hand that swept up against the inner thigh remained unnoticed until...

“MAGENTA-CYAN-YELLOW-YELLOW, BUMPER ONE AND... BOOM!” Kaili rose up from the couch and did a victory dance. Raised her hands for the ceiling and shook her waist in a slow gloat. A quick spin on her heel and she lowered her arms to point at Allyson. “So much for winning all the time, baby! Ha-haaa!”

The young woman let in a deep breath of victory and she was back to normal again. A few small bouts of laughter seemed to bubble up her throat as she realised what she had done, but damn if that rush wasn’t worth it.

Her butt reconnected with the couch again with a floof. Her hand landed in her lap and just like that she seemed to remember...

“Did you try to...” Kaili perked her brow at Allyson before chuckling. “You totally did! You tried to distract me!”

“Well,” She leaned in to kiss Allyson on the cheek. “You need to try harder than that I’m afraid.”

(And just in case Allyson tries to do what Kaili did...)

Her efforts to distract Kaili Talith were futile. The woman was far too determined to win. Allyson watched helplessly as Han solo was utterly wrecked by Greedo. Frowning, she looked up at the girl who was celebrating. Seeing this as an opportunity, she reached over and pushed the start button to accept a rematch. As the girl celebrated, Allyson quickly threw in combos to slap an inactive Greedo around. It was just like training room and while the girl sat down she quickly finished off the little alien, of course after the kiss against her cheek.

As she won, she turned and looked at Kaili with a grin. “I win.” Two can play the game that Kaili enjoys playing. Allyson needed to show the girl that she could keep up with her and her cheating. Though it was cute when she won, the way she was excited and rubbed it in her face. Still, winning by cheating wasn’t Allyson’s favorite way of winning, but it was still winning. Half expecting another smack, Allyson just sat there with her smug little grin spread across her face. “If you really want me to try and distract you I can do that.”

Reaching out, Allyson placed her hand on the other girl’s chest and stayed there. “Better?” Of course she wasn’t really trying, the next game had not started yet, but if she had a chance to grab a boob she was going to do it. With her other hand she pressed start to prepare for another game and another match between them. Maybe it was time to raise the stakes a little bit, would [member="Kaili Talith"] go for them? “Hey, so winner gets to pick an article of clothing loser has to take off – you down?”

Blink blink. Kaili turned to the screen again. She had asked for that one. As much as it hurt to be defeated once more it was something she had without a doubt brought upon herself. Her attention slowly went back to the Corellian. A grin spread on her lips and she let out a low chuckle to truly emphasize how toasted Allyson was in her newly acquired seat. They were going to play that game, huh?

A hand touched her breast, Kaili grabbed Allyson’s hand and diverted it to the Corellian’s controller.

“Oh, I’m down.” No, she wasn’t, but it was hard to say no to a challenge. Gambling addiction, perhaps? “Question is, are you?”

The character select menu came up. Kaili switched over to IG-88 before letting the soon-to-be-half-naked woman pick hers. Kaili leaned forward again. A hand tucked the small strands of hair behind her ear. She was focused, she was determined and the second the countdown hit zero she would hand Allyson’s words back to her. Something that would be twice the sweeter when the Borleian kid hadn’t picked a ridiculously broken character.

Deep breath. Three... Two... One...

... FIGHT.

Hands moved swiftly across the controls. Attacks were parried until eventually Kaili found the perfect window for retaliation. IG-88 raised his pistol, squeezed the trigger in rapid succession until eventually... Allyson’s avatar fell over in sweet defeat.

“YES!” Kaili threw the controller in the air in excitement before catching it again in a fumbled catch. “Your pants! Off!”

Gloating laugh ensued. “I like this game already!”

Allyson had gone with Lando, who in the pistol round never did well. She had a feeling she would lose that one, but had hoped that Kaili’s excitement got the best of her. Seeing that she was wrong with that assumption, she sighed and got up. If she was going to be losing her clothing, she was going to make this as sexy as she could.

“Already getting into my pants and you said you were too tired for this.” Allyson grinned.

Standing in front of the holoscreen, so that her adorable little cheater couldn’t start the next round without her, Allyson slowly pulled the string to her pants to undo the little bow she had tied into them. The strings fell out of her hand and she swayed her hips slightly as her thumbs hooked into the elastic band. Slowly inch by inch she moved the waist of her pants downward, first over the curve of her bottom and then down each leg till they were off.

“There you go hope you enjoyed the show.” Tossing her pants at the blonde she quickly took her seat and started the next round. The countdown flashed and they were back in an arena that Allyson knew quite well. The physical combat arena was the best and the favored round. Quickly her knowledge of Lando’s gameplay was evident and without Kaili being able to react, the caped man destroyed IG-88.

Smirking, Allyson looked over at Kaili and waved her finger. “Your shirt please.” She could have gone for the pants, but Kaili needed to defeat the shirt boss. Remembering the consistent mishaps, Allyson wondered if she should have taken the shirt off herself. Continuing to ponder it she nodded realizing it was probably for the best. Without any warning, she pulled the controller from Kaili’s hands and situated herself in the girl’s lap. Smiling, she rubbed the tip of her nose against the other woman’s, “I don’t want you to kill yourself.” Carefully, she pulled up the bottom of the shirt and removed it from the blonde. She remembered to do it slowly reminiscent of their first night together. [member="Kaili Talith"]

“Haa-haa.” The sarcasm dripped. “Very funny.”

Yet Kaili could not help biting her lower lip as the pants rounded the hips and down the legs to form a heap on the floor. Obviously it was what Allyson had wanted, but that didn’t mean Kaili would forbid herself from enjoying the view. If anything, quite the opposite. Not that Allyson would be allowed to know that. Force forbid she tried to distract the girl with more of, well, this. She might just end up winning by default and if that was the way it was going to pan out, then Kaili could just as well not have played the game at all.

This was about the challenge, about Kaili winning. Her teeth slipped away from her lip and she focused on the two scoundrels on the screen. The round started and... She lost. She was quite literally destroyed as the only colored man to help Luke Skywalker obliterated the metal heap that was IG-88.

Allyson turned towards the bitter Kaili who glowered. Oh how the orange eyes stared. It was briefly covered by the insides, but once the piece of fabric had been drawn over her head to the floor it would remain right there as if frozen in place. She gently shook her head and set her eyes on the game again. The counter started again and Kaili did not let up, and with absolute focus she managed to set off an unrelenting chain of attacks.

One third, the half of that and then the remaining until eventually the announcer said the two-syllable word that any player would have wanted to hear.

PER-FECT!

Kaili’s jaw started to hang, her brows reached her hairline. She couldn’t believe that had just happened.

Yet even then...
