Private Child Of the Damned

It had been a few days since Revna had interacted with the young man, Varin Mortifer Varin Mortifer . Though he hadn’t seen nor heard from her since she’d taken him ‘clothes shopping’ the day after his arrival, she had kept her eye on him from afar - watching his interactions with others (or lack thereof) but not intervening. The boy had arrived around the time that the Sith battled the Jedi on Woostri, and so Varin did not have a chance to meet his roommate, and Revna’s other Acolyte, Lysander von Ascania Lysander von Ascania . And it appeared that it would be a little while longer before the two Sith acolytes would interact with one another, as Lysander was still recovering in one of the Academy’s healing pods from injuries sustained while he’d been away.

But it gave the Sith woman a good opportunity to see what Varin did when he was alone and left to his own devices. He was reclusive, spending much of his time alone. He spent his days practicing his fighting forms or meditating, often bringing his meals back to the room to eat. He appeared to maintain a sort of structured lifestyle, something she noted for whenever she decided it was time to begin his lessons.

And today would be that day, she decided.

She had told Varin that she could help him figure out the identity of those who had attacked and killed his family members, had nearly killed him - but she would need to peer into his memories in order to do so. Having a Sith probe one’s mind and peruse memories was not exactly a pleasant experience, and she wanted him to be rested and prepared for such an event.

She also decided that perhaps it would be a good opportunity to test his mental defenses and see if they needed to be improved on, or if he needed to learn such an ability altogether. It was something her late Master, Darth Strosius Darth Strosius , had done with her - and now she would do it for her own students.

It was nearing noon on Korriban, the red-orange sphere of Horuset high in the sky above, when Revna sent two servants to collect the young man and bring him into the Palace of Vardin. The boy would be guided through red sandstone hallways and up a circling flight of stairs before he was brought to a mostly barren courtyard that had an open balcony that faced the Valley of Dark Lords directly. In the center of the courtyard appeared to be a circle of stone, and around it were marks etched into the stones themselves, words that appeared to be ur-Kittat. And within that very circle was a collection of red and black sand in a small circular pit - just large enough for someone to sit or kneel within.

Varin would find Revna standing, her back turned towards him and looking out over the Golg Desert, draped in black robes that were favored by most Sith sorcerers. A cold aura of power emanated from her, the presence of the Dark side, and indication of just how close and connected she was to the Force itself.

Upon sensing his arrival, Revna turned her head to glance over her shoulder, ember eyes landing on the two servants who had brought Varin to her. She quietly dismissed them from the courtyard, and they bowed and left the two alone. The moment they passed through courtyard's archway, she lifted a hand and the Force moved as she erected a barrier to block the pathway into the courtyard itself.

Now, no one - save for the Sith King himself - could see nor hear them within the courtyard. It was private and safe, just the way she wanted it to be. Revna settled her burning eyes upon the teen boy, appraising him for a moment from across the courtyard, before greeting him.

Welcome, Varin. I trust that you’ve been able to gather your strength in the days since we’ve last interacted? I should hope so; I chose today for us to begin searching your memories a bit. That is…if you will wish for me to help you learn of the identities of those who murdered your family?

Varin was in the middle of his mid day meditation session when two strangers knocked on his door. He snaps out of his meditation as the crystal he had held onto was in mid float. It gentle falls back into his grasp as he lets out an annoyed sigh. He walks up to the door cracking it open slightly.

“Who is it?”

The two strangers were dressed in uniforms signifying they were from the palace. They look at the boy and one speaks.

“Are you Varin Mortifer?”

He eyes them, he's not fond of strangers just knowing his name however due to circumstance its likely they were sent to find him.

“I am. Is there a problem?”

The other stranger speaks as if ignoring his question.

“Lady Revna has summoned you to the palace, you are to follow us there.”

Varins eyes widen. “One moment please.” He shuts the door in their face, thoughts running through his head of actually visiting the palace, something he can finally mark off his bucket list. He pauses, “I just shut the door on palace servants……” He quickly gathers his things and opens the door, maintaining a serious face to hide his excitement, though one with a keen eye could definitely tell he's hiding his true feelings. “Alright I’m ready to go.”

The servants escort him from the academy grounds and onto palace grounds passing the great gates that bisect the academy and the palace. He had always dreamt of visiting the palace and it's finally happening. They pass through sections of the palace halls before approaching a set of circular stairs, after ascending the stairs they come to the courtyard heading towards a balcony, standing before a circle of stones with her back towards the three of them was Lady Revna adorned in black robes. She quietly dismissed the guards and he noticed that they bowed to her, was she some kind of ruler? Is this him being lucky or unlucky? Only time could tell but if these two servants bowed to her then he could only assume that she has free reign of power to the palace. She lifted her hand and outside noise ceased, a shimmering dome surrounded them, Varin looks at her with slight confusion. Revna turned and looked at the boy with her burning eyes.

“Welcome, Varin. I trust that you’ve been able to gather your strength in the days since we’ve last interacted? I should hope so; I chose today for us to begin searching your memories a bit. That is…if you will wish for me to help you learn of the identities of those who murdered your family?”

Varin takes a shaky breath and steals himself, if he wants to remember more of what happened then he has to do this. He told himself he WOULD do anything for answers. He looks back at her and nods.

“I’m as ready as I’ll ever be, I suppose. I have been doing a lot of meditation in hopes to prepare for this.”

He clutches the crystal in his hand out of nervousness, facing these memories are going to be his first trial.

She observed the boy as he seemed to collect himself, taking a deep and rattling breath, before he looked back to her and nodded; yes, he still wished to go forward with this.

I’m as ready as I’ll ever be, I suppose. I have been doing a lot of meditation in hopes to prepare for this.He admitted, and upon hearing this, she smiled.

Good. This might pose a bit of a challenge for you. Or perhaps not. We won’t really know until we get into this.

She then gestured towards the sandy pit in the center with a gloved hand. “Take a seat in the center of the stone circle. Don’t worry, nothing about it will harm you. It is simply imbued with the Dark side, to allow for deeper meditation and connection to the Force. I figured it might aid us with this…adventure.

Revna would wait for Varin to take his place in the circle, letting him decide on whether or not he would sit or kneel, before approaching and taking up a kneeling position directly opposite to him.

Now, before we get started…I wanted to explain a bit of what I will be doing, and what I need from you in return. You will feel my presence against your mind, and for this to work, you will need to let me in. Since you don’t remember details of the past and what happened to you…I will have to be free to search your mind and pull them to the surface, so that I can see them.” Revna paused then, and eyed Varin for a few moments in silence. She knew that what she was asking him to do, was to trust her. To be vulnerable.

And trust did not come easily for a Sith…if it did at all.

At any point in time during this…you can close your mind off to me, or attempt to push me out, if or when you need a break. Do you have any questions for me before we go ahead?

Varin kneels in the sandy pit, something deep inside him instantly begins to resonate with the small surrounding area. A cold but welcoming feeling intermingling with the burning feeling deep within his being.

“At any point in time during this…you can close your mind off to me, or attempt to push me out, if or when you need a break. Do you have any questions for me before we go ahead?”

He processes the information given to him and that he must do one of the hardest things he has ever done, put trust into someone he knows little about. His first instinct being to withdrawl he swallows that feeling deep inside forcing it to submit to his personal mission. He looks into Revnas eyes where she can see the amber color now giving an orange tint in his eyes as he absorbs the dark feeling around him.

"I am ready. But I should let you know that some things in my head are far beyond my control. You may have to convince...Him to let you in." He pauses waiting for that commanding tone in his mind to silence him but it remains quiet, almost as if He wants to be known. Why? He's never wanted any real attention.

"Hes very...possessive, more that than protective. I'm sure he will try to talk you into a deal. I won't try to convince you not to take it, he would only be desperate to move on to someone he knows would be stronger he can bend to his will." He grips his crystal in his hand until blood drips from his palm. He's nervous, not about the procedure but of something else. His heart beats in his chest like the loud thrum of a war drum.

"Hes been with me since the ritual. It's said that when we go through the ritual something latches onto us promising power if we give them our bodies. My first trial in my training was to tame this being, but we never got to it." He pauses debating if he should go further.

"He...wants to meet you." He falls silent as he prepares for the procedure calming his breathing preparing to go into his meditative state.

Revna observed passively as Varin stepped within the sandy circle and knelt down at its center, and waited for him to present any questions he had to her, if there were any.

But what he told her next, made the Sith woman grow far more curious about her new young charge.

"
I am ready. But I should let you know that some things in my head are far beyond my control. You may have to convince...him to let you in."

Revna’s eyes narrowed, not threateningly, but in wary curiosity to hear more.

"
He’s very...possessive, more that, than protective. I'm sure he will try to talk you into a deal. I won't try to convince you not to take it, he would only be desperate to move on to someone he knows would be stronger he can bend to his will."

She could almost taste the nervousness that rolled off the young man in the circle before her, so thick was its presence that bled into the Force. This only made her grow more wary and alert; whatever this young man was referring to seemed to have a measure of power, and it was an unknown that made this situation now so much more intricate and complicated. Perhaps this was what had been causing his headaches, the last time I was with him. The thing he speaks to when he’s alone, Revna reflected quietly to herself.

"
He’s been with me since the ritual. It's said that when we go through the ritual something latches onto us promising power if we give them our bodies. My first trial in my training was to tame this being, but we never got to it."

Varin paused for a moment, as if debating something, before he added: "
He...wants to meet you."

Revna was silent for several long moments. She hadn’t anticipated the fact that she may need to guard herself while helping Varin access his memories. But she had battled Dark Lords within the mindscape and had learned to fight them off - surely she could manage this.

Though she was still very cautious.

Thank you for informing me about this, Varin. This…changes things a bit. How…is yet to be determined. Depends on how…difficult this thing is, that you say is connected or attached to you. You may not be able to cut our connection if you are under the influence of whatever it is, so if I sense that proceeding is dangerous for myself or for you, I will bring this interaction to a close.

There was no sense in delaying the situation further she mused, and she gave a nod to the boy across from her. "Prepare yourself. You will feel my presence against your mind here in a moment, but I will let you decide when to let me in."

Revna closed her eyes and stretched out her senses, her awareness, and waited for Varin to enter into his own meditative state, however he chose to do that. The boy would feel her own presence: cold and yet almost alluring, enveloping him like a light misty veil. Several heartbeats would go by, before Varin would feel a more directed presence against the forefront of his mind - not forceful, but not gentle either. And here Revna waited, as patient as a serpent, for Varin to open up his mind to her and allow her to proceed forward with the task at hand.

Varin concentrates on his meditation, his usual emotions and memories as he meditates. Revna can feel his near bottomless anger, his hatred, all of it bearing before her like an open door as Varin lets her in. As she steps in she sees an endless blackness of an expanse. Echoes of voices from the past reach inside her ear, whispers, conversation, screaming.

A man’s voice cuts into the air like a heated knife in front of her as a memory slowly begins to manifest itself. I told you boy you are not ready.” She sees a tall man in heavy armor towering over a boy who is kneeling face first into the floor in front of him. Scorch marks burned into the floor and walls, books thrown around the room from broken shelves. A library perhaps?

“Forgive me father I….I just wanted to prove to you I could handle it.” The boy speaks quickly and nervously as the father slowly begins to draw his heavy blade.

“SILENCE BOY. You disobeyed my rules, rummaged through my forbidden tomes and destroyed my study. In my battle company I would separate your head from your shoulders.” The man's eyes burn like coals as you see little traces of lightning arc from his closed fist gripped around his sword's handle. The blade was long and thick running up the length with a flat edge at the top. An executioners sword, used to behead those who would disobey its wielder.

Tears fall from the boy's face like dripping sweat to the floor as his arms shake. “I know I can do it father, please let me show you. I’m worthy of being your soldier. Please give me a chance.” The man slams the blade into the floor cracking the boards as he strikes into the foundation, lightning arcing from the blade begins to brighten the room the blade sparks and is engulfed in flame.

The man lets out a frustrated yet amused grunt. “Very well boy.” He picks up the blade and points the edged end at the boy who slowly picks his head up revealing a younger Varin. “Show me that this destruction YOU caused was at least worth it all.”

The boy hesitates for a moment before standing before his father. “Yes father.” He breathes deep letting out a long slow breath as he collects himself. He widens his stance, placing his palms up, fingers curled in as if trying to grip a ball. He growls as if straining a muscle and a pressure begins to build into the room. Burnt ozone begins to suffocate the incensed air as the atmosphere around them starts to feel charged. The father holds his ground watching in great detail at the boy's form but you can tell he stands guarded, the years of his battle experience showing very prominently in his preparedness.

Little discharges of lightning begin to arc from Varin’s fingertips, a faint soft crackling cuts through the quiet air. The little discharges slowly begin to build as Varin continues his concentration. “That's enough boy.” Varin continues concentrating. “No. I can do it father. I just have to dig deeper.” His fingers grip into fists as the lightning continues building, smoke begins to billow under Varin’s shirt. “Varin, stop this instant!” His father’s voice falls on deaf ears as Varin’s back erupts in flame. Varin lets out a scream, not one of pain but one of battle. As the fire begins to catch his shirt on fire burning it off Varin’s skin, but his skin acts as if untouched by the flame. You see clearly the brands on Varin’s back have erupted in flame, the lightning growing in sheer intensity. The boy's eyes turn into burning coals as he speaks in a tone that is not his, deeper, guttural, harmonizing with his normal voice.Witness me father!” Lightning erupts from his fingers in a concentrated quick beam but in a quick flash his father had deflected it and knocked Varin off balance severing his concentration. The fire instantly is snuffed out from his back as scorch marks scar the wall behind him. His father breathing heavily holds the blade to Varin’s throat. The father lets out a growl, but speaks very quietly to Varin. “I told you…you are not ready boy. The next time I catch you in my private books again, I will have no choice but to erase you from my bloodline and have another heir. Is that clear?”

Varins eyes lowered in disappointment and embarrassment, “Yes…father. It won't happen again. Thank you for showing me this gift of mercy.” His father sheathes his blade and walks out of the door. “Clean this mess up boy.”

The memory begins to fade as the expanse of blackness envelopes Revna once again. She suddenly hears another voice, deep, guttural speak to her from all around the expanse. “A guest? In MY court?” It lets out a deep chuckle as the ground around Revna begins to crack revealing veins of fire and lava. “Or is it an intruder?” The air feels hot and thick. She sees a giant clawed hand reach out of the pool of lava and crack into the ground as the creature pulls itself out. A cloud of fire fueled smoke and embers pull its head towards her as it begins to take the shape of a head of a giant lizard creature long forgotten to time. Its eyes alight with the very essence of an erupted volcano, it pulls its gaze to its new guest. The smoke envelopes the creature like a mane throughout its back lining the spine, underneath the smoke skin she can see bound lava and rock form into scales, the smoke erupts off its back like pyroclastic flows unraveling itself into the form of wings though unable to take flight. It lets out a loud hiss as its forked tongue licks out of its maw like a wildfire in a thick jungle.

“Welcome, to my court.”

Just as she had hoped, Varin did not resist the presence of her mind against his and soon she slipped through the doorway he presented to her. Almost instantly, she was bombarded with whispers and voices, all seeping through to reach her, but she kept her focus intent upon the task at hand and didn’t allow herself to waver.

She was rewarded with a vision, and she watched on from the shadows as an authoritative and angry male voice echoed through to her and soon she sees a man in heavy armor, seeming to berate a young boy who was knelt before him in a posture of supplication. Around them all appeared to be a grand library of sorts, one that bore the marks of damage - and Revna pondered if this was the reason for the man’s anger. Her questioning thought was soon answered as she listened further to the interaction between the Father and his errant son, and observed in neutral silence as the man drew a longsword as if to directly threaten the life of the boy before him.

It was clear to her that this was a Sith household, and the Father here was the sole authority and exercised it with an iron fist. To see him draw a blade against his own child did not surprise Revna in the slightest; she knew that, when Sith did decide to have families…the structure was strict and violence was never far away. She’d witnessed Darth Carnifex order his own grandsons to be punished for an altercation, back when she’d been aboard the Malsheem.

The interaction continued, with the boy begging his Father to give him another chance to prove he could do whatever it was that his sire seemed to believe he wasn’t ready for. The militant man, whom Revna assumed to be a Sith Lord at least in rank, gave his son permission and Revna saw a younger Varin rise to his feet to make another attempt to prove his control over his power.

Revna circled around the pair in the vision, watching on like a silent spectre, as the boy summoned forth his strength once more - little crackles of Sith lightning forming and growing as the boy concentrated. What happened next, however, drew both Revna’s curiosity and concern - as the boy almost seemed to smoke and radiate waves of heat. It was clear, even to her, that he didn’t have control over whatever power he was manifesting, and his Father knew it too and ordered the boy to stop.

An order that younger Varin chose to ignore.

Moments later, the boy’s persona and voice seemed to shift and change, and something else manifested itself - not just in the memory, but also within Varin’s mind. Revna witnessed as Varin’s father flexed his own might and strength, and instantly shut down whatever the boy had been trying to do. She marveled at the power the Sith Lord had in that moment, and felt a prickle along the back of her neck.

The Sith brought his blade up to rest against the pale skin of younger Varin’s neck, and made it clear that should he catch his son in his study again, he would erase the boy’s existence. The harsh threat seemed to pierce through to younger Varin, who appeared disappointed and embarrassed by what had happened.

Moments later, the vision faded and replacing it was a vast expanse of blackness, but even here Revna could feel that she was not alone within Varin’s mind. Something far more powerful was here too…and it made its presence known to her.

A guest? In MY court?the gutteral, growling voice thundered as fiery cracks began to expand out around her. Or is it an intruder?

Revna remained quiet, making sure the walls around her own mind were like steel doors. She didn’t know who or what this entity was…but she would not permit it access to her mind while she was already within Varin’s mindscape. It was at that moment that she knew that her original plans to help the boy access his memories and see who had murdered his family had gone out the window.

First, she had to deal with whatever this was, as great clawed hands emerged from the cracks of fire and lava and a great draconic looking beast pulled itself to the surface, great smoking and ashen wings unfurling from its back - though she noticed that it didn’t use them to fly.

The great fiery entity leveled its molten gaze upon her, and she steeled her nerves against the surge of primal fear that threatened to raise its ugly head within her. She had faced Dark Lords of the Sith and had lived to take knowledge from them - what could this creature do to her?

Welcome, to my court.

Revna stared fearlessly at the draconic entity, her mind working in overtime to pick apart what she was seeing and hearing and analyze everything. There were some things she noticed almost instantly: this entity, whoever it was, had control over Varin - at least for now. The boy’s presence could not be felt, and so she set the expectation to speak with the boy aside for the moment. The next thing she noticed was the sheer arrogance of this beast; Varin’s mind was his court?

She knew a little on how to play the intricate and often delicate and dangerous game of court politics.

She wanted answers, and she knew she would have to play into this creature’s arrogance and manipulate it into her favor if she wanted to move forward. So, she bowed her head in a gesture of deep respect.

...you are most gracious to allow me to remain within your court, Great One. But I must confess, I was not expecting to meet you and unfortunately I do not know who you are, as you certainly are not Varin Mortifer. To whom am I speaking with, and how should I defer to you?

There is a split moment of tension before she feels a heat in the back of her head. He's testing her barriers, testing the waters of his newfound guest. The heat vanishes after but a moment as the creature let's out a crackling chuckle that sounds like stone on stone. This being was a walking volcano, it's blood the very magma that flows beneath the planets, it's breath the noxious gas trapped beneath its crust and it's voice like the scraping of fault lines.

"I am beyond names guest. You need not be too defensive, but I don't blame you for protecting yourself. I have been called many names. The first star, the spark of ignition, son of suns, destruction, conquest. To speak my true given name you would have to rip out your tongue just to think about how to pronounce it. Though the Mortifer family called me Ignati Certis Vencere." He stands tall before her, the slits along his neck reminiscent of gills brighten with the fire within as he breathes.

"Something about you smells familiar." He slowly walks around her like a lion circling it's prey. "Something in your blood." He breathes deep as she hears the hiss of his nostrils. He then gives a very dark smirk. "A Marr. Oooh it has been so long since I've seen a Marr. Not since...." He pauses his reminiscence. "What brings you here Marr? Something about the boy i presume?"

After he finishes his question she hears heavy chains pull as if restraining something behind her. A very animalistic yet humanoid growl can be heard from the very same direction as if someone is straining to break something.

Just as she suspected it would, she felt a touch, a prod, against her mind - seeming to look for any cracks or weaknesses in her defenses. Whoever or whatever this was, tested her. But it would find that she resisted and withstood its probing quite well, as if this hadn’t been the first time she’d had her mind tested by something or someone powerful. In this entity’s presence, she remained still and resolute - neither fearing it nor showing disrespect. She drew her hands behind her back, standing in a militant fashion that almost perfectly mirrored the stance her late Master would have taken - her fiery, Dark corrupted eyes tracking the molten entity as it chuckled, the sound of it was like stones grinding against one another.

What…was this thing? Clearly, it was an entity of some sort - attached to her acolyte. It was old…whatever it was.

"
I am beyond names guest. You need not be too defensive, but I don't blame you for protecting yourself. I have been called many names. The First Star, the Spark of Ignition, Son of Suns, Destruction, Conquest. To speak my true given name you would have to rip out your tongue just to think about how to pronounce it. Though the Mortifer family called me Ignati Certis Vencere."

Revna remained silent as the entity spoke, listing off an assortment of titles or names that it claimed over itself as it stood tall before her, wreathed in fire and molten rock. Truly, it was a magnificent thing to behold; if something like this were to come into reality, she imagined the destruction would be unfathomable.

…why was it attached to Varin, then?

"
Something about you smells familiar. Something in your blood." the draconic beast rumbled as it circled around her like a predator would its prey, and the woman’s eyes narrowed slightly, curious as to what this creature was sensing about her. She heard it inhale deeply, taking in her essence. It was a disconcerting moment, but she held her ground despite her misgivings. "A Marr. Oooh it has been so long since I've seen a Marr. Not since...."

The entity seemed to be recalling something for a moment, and Revna felt a small smile tug at her lips. “If you are referring to my ancestor, Darth Marr, then yes…I imagine it has been a very long time. Thousands of years between him and I, in fact.

The entity returned its attention to her, and she felt its heated gaze fall upon her once more. "
What brings you here, Marr? Something about the boy I presume?" As it finished speaking, she heard the distinct sounds of dragging, straining chains behind her, and a growl rumbled through the mindscape.

I was invited here by Varin Mortifer, Great One. To try and piece together how and why he ended up crashing into my home world after escaping some sort of conflict - since he can’t seem to remember or recall anything himself.” she said, laying out the reason as to why she was here. “...You wouldn’t happen to know anything about that…would you, Son of Suns?” Revna questioned then, keeping her gaze upon the entity before her for a moment longer, before she turned her body at an unhurried pace, making sure to keep the entity on one side of her and still within her line of sight, while also giving her a view of whatever had made the growling noise behind her.

I told him I would help him recover his memories so that he can have his vengeance for his family, and I intend to honor my word. It is a Marr trait…something I am sure you know about, if you encountered my ancestor.

The Marr explains that she has come to help this boy, this little welp, recover his poor lost forgotten memories. A smile tugs at his face as she explains herself.

"Certainly you didn't believe this would come for free? Nothing comes without a price, especially when it comes to the dark side."

He notices the sound of the chains and follows her gaze to the source. Where she sees a man, or what looks like a man. His wings bound around him almost like a cocoon, molten scales run down his shoulders into burning claws as he slowly lifts his head. Horns protrude out of his brow arcing backwards. Below his brow you see animalistic burning coals for eyes. There's almost no intelligence behind these eyes just pure primal instinct. The mouth opens to let out a strained breath as smoke gently floats out of his mouth, she sees lightning arc between his jaws from tooth to tooth. The being begins to stand but the chains tighten and jerk him back down. In a bout of frustration the being lashes at the chains almost like a caged animal desperate for escape. He jerks and pulls the chains letting out a deep yell before falling to his knees breathing heavily. He looks up at the mysterious woman. "Release...me..." a flash of humanity comes to his eyes before it's overtaken again back to its animalistic state.

"Still struggling against your bindings runt? Pull, claw, gnash your teeth, growl all you want. You hold yourself there with your limitations." He looks at the Marr. "He holds himself in that prison. Not knowing he isn't truly locked away. A prison of his own creation, the door is closed but not locked."

He gazes back to the Marr woman. "I can help. But what will you give me in exchange Marr?"

Revna kept her gaze upon the entity, and noticed a smile or smirk tug on its fiery face. "Certainly you didn't believe this would come for free? Nothing comes without a price, especially when it comes to the dark side."

The entity’s choice of wording answered some of her hidden questions she had for it, and she felt her own smirk tug on her lips. This creature knew how to play the game too, it seemed. She was slow to speak, however, as her eyes travelled to the source of the growling noise behind her and she beheld a figure of a man, and what appeared to be wings bound around him in great chains. Scales that appeared almost molten descended down his arms to his hands which ended in what looked like claws. As he lifted his head, she saw draconic horns arching backwards, and molted fierce eyes stared back at her. Little arcs and sparks of lightning dance around his gaping mouth and over his teeth, and when he tries to rise to his feet, the chains pull him back down, eliciting a roar from the man.

The man, or being, or creature - lifted his head once more to look at her and asked her to release him, as a flicker of humanity danced in his molted eyes before it disappeared.

"
Still struggling against your bindings runt? Pull, claw, gnash your teeth, growl all you want. You hold yourself there with your limitations.the draconic entity said to the chained man before turning to speak to her. “He holds himself in that prison. Not knowing he isn't truly locked away. A prison of his own creation, the door is closed but not locked."

So this…is Varin…or a piece of him.
Revna pondered internally to herself. She also considered the entity’s words to her; that Varin held himself bound by his own limitations…that he wasn’t truly caged, but he thought he was. This was a prison of Varin’s own making…and she wanted to know why he had made it for himself, and why he didn’t realize he had seemingly trapped himself here.

"
I can help. But what will you give me in exchange, Marr?"

Revna turned her focus back to the entity before her, thinking carefully about her next step. She pursed her lips and tilted her head to the left, a thing she did when in thought or consideration about something. Her ember eyes narrowed at the being as she weighed her options. This entity was old, clearly; surely there was little it didn’t already know. And if it was attached to the Dark side, then it was aware of things more than she was.

Hmm. You are right - the Dark Side does not give up any of its mysteries without a cost. I am no stranger to paying the price it asks of me. You, however, are a unique being. I don’t think you fancy souls or spirits or bodies - you are seemingly eternal and surely have no use for such things.

The woman returned to her silence for a few moments, weighing her thoughts, before she smiled at the creature. “Which is of interest to you, knowledge or secrets? Perhaps I have something that might prove somewhat entertaining for you that could work as payment.

“Which is of interest to you, knowledge or secrets? Perhaps I have something that might prove somewhat entertaining for you that could work as payment.”

Ignati pauses for a moment drinking in the question. “The Marr woman offers a choice, how peculiar.” His body slithers around her as he speaks to her in a low voice. “Choice… An illusion that ultimately meets to the same end…. The beginning or the end of one's destiny.” His massive body looms over her as he brings his face closer to hers almost studying her. His eyes like two bright orbs made of radiant flame look into her, almost as if to burn away all amount of deception. He ponders his choice carefully, though he is an ancient being brimming with knowledge he is still made from the Dark side of the force, and thus by its nature always hunger, always yearns for knowledge. Enough is never enough.

After a brief moment he finally makes his decision. “Tell me a secret, Marr, make it good and I will open the floodgates of repressed memory, but be warned. Once these gates open, the boy may never be the same again.” He quickly slithers past the Marr woman in a fast fluid motion to the bound being and with a massive clawed hand forces the boy's head up. Varin lets out a strained growl as Ignati’s form comes into contact with him. “This is the boy's future. His destiny. And it will come for him. These chains will shatter and he will overflow with power. A very promising acolyte I would say.”

The entity, Ignati, seemed to ponder her question and the choice she offered, before he slithered around her as he pointed out the fact that she had offered a choice, then shared his own personal thoughts on the matter. Amusement glimmered in the woman’s fiery eyes and her smirk widened for a moment. Truthfully, presenting the option of choice…was a powerful tool to use when manipulating another into favorable circumstances. If presented right, it could lure someone into a carefully laid trap or plan.

Ignati loomed over her then and brought his face close to her own, burning eyes meeting her own as if he was trying to sear away or see through her and lay bare any deception she may have. Revna stood straight and fearless before the entity, almost bathing in the heat that seemed to radiate off of him. She felt her own darkness seem to reach out, to drink in the essence of power the entity radiated, and for a brief moment the Sith woman’s void of hunger flared.

Finally, Ignati seemed to settle on his choice as he slipped past her in a quick blur.
Tell me a secret, Marr, make it good and I will open the floodgates of repressed memory, but be warned. Once these gates open, the boy may never be the same again.

Revna turned slightly to glance over her shoulder at the draconic figure as it reached out a clawed hand to lift Varin’s head up, a motion that elicited a growl from the chained figure.

This is the boy's future. His destiny. And it will come for him. These chains will shatter and he will overflow with power. A very promising acolyte I would say.

The raven haired Sith woman pondered Ignati’s choice for a secret, while also taking his warning into account - that Varin may never be the same again.

Yes…promising indeed. And I should hope he won't remain the same. Otherwise he would stagnate, like the Jedi do. Sith are meant to evolve, and suffering is one of the best catalysts we have.” Revna said in her typical soft voice as she studied the chained figure, her mind still turning on what sort of secret would be worthy enough for Ignati.

Then, something flashed into her mind - a secret that she had that very few knew of, and those that did held it close to their heart. Still, she hesitated for a moment. She wasn't entirely sure if sharing what she knew, would draw unwanted attention to her. But she realized in the end, that anything she would share here...would be kept safe.

There are gods amongst us Sith - beings of such magnitude and power that the very fabric of the Force quakes in fear in their presence, and the Darkness simply obeys without challenge. I am sure you know of whom I speak - Darth Empyrean, Emperor of the Sith…the Dead God, the proclaimed Sith’ari. Darth Prazutis, the Shadow Hand of the Kainate, the Lord of Lies…and Darth Carnifex…the Butcher King, the Dark Lord of the Kainate…the Twice Emperor, the Black Tyrant.

Her fiery eyes landed upon Ignati, glinting with slyness. “But even the gods of the Sith have their secrets. I know of one, a secret so hidden that only a handful of souls are currently alive with the knowledge. Darth Carnifex has an item in the form of a necklace that binds him to his mortal coil and keeps him here - living far beyond the tenure of his life. And the Empress of the Sith wears it around her neck - since she and Carnifex share a unique bond to one another. I am only privy to its existence because the Empress hinted that she keeps Carnifex’s life safe, and pointed out her necklace to me. I know many others who would kill for that knowledge - even my own allies.

Revna paused once more, her gaze never leaving Ignati as she watched him carefully. “...Will this secret work as payment for you, Son of Suns?

As the Marr woman laid bare her deep secret it seemed to coalesce into a black shadowed ball of smoke, crackling with embers. Ignati drinks deep this hearty meal he was given inhaling deep as if taking a long drag of a cigarette, and letting out a deep satiated exhale, gasses hiss out of his nostrils as he lets out a small smile. “That was….delectable. But I sense something deeper within you….” He inhales your scent. “something…..attached….I sense we may see more of each other in the future.”

Ignatis eyes flash white as a great gate appears just behind him, it opens up wide revealing a swirling void. “A deal….is a deal, Lady Marr.” The void begins to form a vision and you see a great garden laid out in a beautiful courtyard. Flowers of varying species including hybrid genomes line the walkways varying in darkside origin, light side origin and something in the middle of both alignments. A red headed woman of pale and greyish skin tends to the little plants, almost talking to them as she does. With her is a small girl, very similar in look but she is more pale than the woman. She tends to the garden the same way, also speaking to the plants.

“Varin, have you been paying attention?” The woman speaks as she stands turning towards the gate before you. You see pale hands slowly sheath a sith blade, the knuckles look beat and rough. You begin to realise you are looking through the eyes of Varin.

“Sorry mother. I was distracted.” He places his hands behind his back and oddly enough you can feel what he feels, scents, even tastes. “Please demonstrate it again.” A name hits you almost as if you recognize her, as Varin recognizes her, Lady Ravnika Mortifer, lead shield maiden of House Mortifer.

She smirks as she kneels to meet his eyes. Her vibrant pale eyes swirl with red like a dancing current in a forever waltz. “Varin not everything has to be formal with me, your training is over for the day. I need you to understand this otherwise the relationship you build with this garden will wither. Theres a time for militant views then there's a time to set it aside if you want a community to truly thrive.” She passes over a trowel

Varin begins to relax but it almost feels…wrong. Like he’s letting down his guard. “Of course mother….I mean mom.” He gently takes the gardening tool and begins helping with tending, prying out weeds and helping with pruning unwanted excess. Lady Ravnika watches over both of her children and then leaves them as she tends to other matters.

“Varin, I have a present for you.” A voice of a young child can be heard near him and he looks over towards the voice. Another name hits your mind. Nier’Atha Mortifer, Varins younger sister, a 10 year old aspiring alchemist, though she is force dead she still holds vast knowledge about the garden. Likely due to her tending to it for most of the day almost every day, she has such a drive for it that she individually names the plants. Varin would dare say that she may even know the garden better than their mother. You can feel that both siblings are very much attached to one another.

Varin stands and walks over to her and smiles at her kneeling down to meet her. “What do you have Nier?” She extends her hand and places in his palm a sith blood flower. Beautiful blackened pedals adorned over a gilded golden stem. Nier smiles “I’ve been working on it for months, she's a stubborn one.” Varin smiles and hugs her. “Thanks…what did you name her?”

Nier pauses, “I haven't, I wanted you to name her.” She smiles brightly as Varin runs his finger over the thorns. Varin chuckles “Well this may be corny but I'm terrible at names so maybe I’ll name her Nier. I’ll take exceptionally good care of her.” Nier begins to giggle as her voice echoes "That really is corny." The memory begins to fade before another one starts to manifest.

A faint smirk of victory touched Revna’s lips as Ignati seemed to accept her offered secret. She felt no guilt using the knowledge here for her own advantage - even though she knew that Srina had imparted that secret to her out of trust. It was simply another tool she had in her arsenal to use to further whatever she needed to do.

Her smirk fell away though when Ignati said further that there was something else about her that he could sense, something…attached to her. Her brows dipped slightly in confusion, as she didn’t know what he could be referring to.

But before she could question him on the matter, the entity’s eyes turned white and a sort of gated entryway appeared behind him.

A deal….is a deal, Lady Marr.”

Revna noted the respectful use of Lady before her name, recognizing that perhaps she had earned some sort of recognition from Ignati, though she made no mention of this as she approached the swirling void beyond him. The void began to shift and soon images replaced the swirling darkness, and within moments, she was consumed by a memory.

Revna observed the scene of a mother and her two children in silence, noting the characters involved and memorizing faces and names - Lady Ravnika, her son Varin, and a daughter Nier’Atha. She listened as Varin’s mother passed on an important lesson, some wisdom, to the younger boy - and Revna nodded in silent agreement with the woman’s statements, and a faint smile graced her face.

That was a lesson she could do well to learn herself, as she prepared to become Queen.

The scene continued as Varin helped his mother tend the beautiful and large garden, before the woman stepped away to leave her two children to tend the garden in her absence. Revna took a moment to study both siblings, noting that the sister - though born from a clearly Force powerful family - was actually dead in the Force. The young daughter - Nier - presented her brother with a beautiful flower, a present for him. The scene was heartwarming and Revna couldn’t help but feel the pang of warmth within her own heart. Clearly these two were close and cared for one another, and a touch of pain slipped through Revna with the knowledge that somewhere along the way this boy had lost these individuals precious to him.

It was a pain and a loss she understood all too well.

Revna Revna

Death is a part of life, we are born, we live, and we return to dust to create new life. It is up to us to spill the Red Water of Life.

The chains behind her strain as Varin struggles, Ignati still holding his head forcing him to watch. He strains his voice “Nier?.....Where are you?”

A new memory fades in through the void of the gate as a sinking feeling looms in the put of Revna’s stomach of impending loss. She sees a towering man sitting upon a throne. His helmet is adorned with battle scars throughout years of servitude to war and conquest. Upon his brow is a wreath of iron thorns. He takes a deep breath as Revna feels her heart rate increase, it doesn't take long before she realises it is Varin heartbeat. Varin is before his father on one knee, kneeling before him. The throne is surrounded in a cobalt flame. A name for this throne is spoken into your mind. The Ignati Mortise, only the blood of a Mortifer ruler may sit upon this throne and gain access to all that the Palace of Carcosa offers. Weapons, droids, sentries, defense armaments all lie within the palm of the Ruler of the Ignati Mortise.

“Stand before me son, you have excelled in your combat training and have passed your trial for your Sith blade. Take up your arms.”

A droid adorned in blackened knight-like armor walks towards Varin as he stands. A name hits your mind CC-14 a Dr3n-gr Drenger class assassin droid. Salvaged from the parts of a similar assassin droid from the age of the separatists. This droid is Varin’s caretaker and royal bodyguard to the rulers and hairs of the throne. They command the droid army of Lord Mortifer.

CC-14 offers the sword to Varin bowing before him. Varin offers the same bow as he takes his blade. Lord Mortifer rises to his feet, a towering figure of around 9.5 feet. With heavy thuds he walks to his son with his large executioner's blade. Varin kneels once more as Lord Mortifer places the flat of the blade on each shoulder. “Arise my squire.” Varin rises to his feet and you can feel he is holding in a tremendous amount of excitement but keeping a stoic face so as not to embarrass his father during the ceremony. A woman approximately 6 feet in height with fiery red hair and a face visor that's reminiscent of a armored face adorned with silver wings by the temples and a wreath of golden leaves kneels before him and places a round shield before him etched with the Mortifer family coat of arms. The coat of arms is a side view of a knight's helmet with a background of a maroon sun.

She speaks softly to him “Lady Ravnika Mortifer of the shield maidens welcomes you to our arms my son.” Cheers and applause fill the room from various servants and citizens who have filled the room. Throughout the night festivities are made and joyous conversations of congratulations echo upon the walls. Music sends crescendos through the halls as Varin takes part in the celebration. Information comes to you that this ceremony is for a set of trials on becoming a warrior in the ranks of the knight class warriors.

As the evening goes by you see various joyous memories of music, song and dance, the night finally grows late and festivities are quieted down. The halls lay quiet and empty, save for a couple of restless children. You see Varin and Nier trying to sneak into the forbidden library of their father. Nier is posted as a lookout as Varin manipulates the lock.

“Hurry up Varin, I'm getting nervous.” Nier speaks with a shudder in her voice as Varin releases the lock.

“Got it.” Varin smirks. The sight of Varin smiling so much in this memory is almost alien to you, you have certainly never seen his eyes this full of life. The both of them quickly enter the room.

Nier looks around and speaks in a hushed whisper “What are we looking for?”

Varin whispers back “There was a book I saw the other day that I wanted to read, something about a family lightning manipulation. I bet if I find it and learn it then maybe I can rise through ranks faster.”

Nier stops and quietly snaps at him. “VARIN! YOU KNOW THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS.”

Varin smiles at her, “A boy can dream can't he?”

“If father catches us he will….”

“Don't think about that right now Nier, focus on the mission. We can only move forward.”

Nier gives a very nervous nod as they keep searching. Moments later they hear a heavy hum and feel massive vibrations. Quickly they crack the door and peek in the halls. They see Lord Mortifer in his full armor quickly walking to the doors leading to the courtyard with Lady Ravnika.

“Find the children, they’ve come.” Lady Ravnika quickly orders CC-14.

Giving a quick salute and obedience to the letter CC speaks quickly “As you wish My Lady.” The two parents exit the palace as CC heads back upstairs towards the children's room.

“What's happening Varin?” Nier’s anxiousness begins to peak.

“I’m….not sure Nier. Let's get a better look.”

Both of them quickly yet quietly scramble out of the room towards a window. There they see their parents stand stoically and strong as a small fleet of ships begin to approach.

“I’m not seeing any colors or coat of arms. Who do you think they are, Nier?"

Nier gives a soft shrug as she contemplates. They both then see Lady Ravnika run out of view towards the side as if getting some sort of flank. Their father still standing as an unmoving boulder. They see him turn on a holoprojector and speak to someone though they couldnt see who it was, but they clearly seemed more agitated and distressed as the conversation went on. Lord Mortifer ends the conversation with one simple sentence “Kill me, but I WILL bring down swaths of your men to oblivion with me.” The holoprojector cuts off.

Varin lets out a couple of shaky breaths, something does not feel right. He looks at Nier who’s eyes begin to water. Varin quickly embraces her, “Im sure we misheard that Nier, no one could kill father except time.”

Stillness and quiet engulfs the night sky as the red moon bloodens the sky. In an instant the ships fire a massive volley of missiles zipping along the sky in unpredictable directions, this is no ordinary bombardment. At least 53 missiles are flying towards the front of the palace as Lor Mortifer stands resolute. He glares at the fleet before raising his hand and there is a massive pressure in the air, vibration is sent through the children's body as one by one almost simultaneously each missile is forcefully detonated by the Sith Lord. He unsheathes his massive sith executioner's blade in one hand and dual wielded in the other is a massive mace forged from sith metals imbued with sith alchemy and dark magic. The cloud of dust dissipates as Lord Mortifer leaps onto one of the ships bashing his mace into the cockpit. The glass is no use under his might as he rips the pilot out of the seat, he then forces the ship to steer into another before leaping off.

As the children were watching another missile is sent their way, they try to react quickly before they both felt a heavy impact and a slide across the floor, embraced in the arms of CC-14. The wall begins to crumble as he shoulders Nier and grabs Varin by the hand. “Come we are leaving” He pulls Varin with him with urgency. "Your father has claimed Cobalt, we must get you to safety”

“WHAT'S GOING ON?!” Varin yells at the droid as Nier begins to cry from the loud noises. CC ignores the questioning teen and pushes on.

“CC-14 I order you to answer me! Please!”

“Now's not the time to question, it's time to obey your father's orders.” As they wander into the halls the windows shatter as several armed forces with blasters start shooting towards the trio. CC extends his durasteel shield deflecting bolts and shoves the children into a nearby closet. They grab a smoke grenade and detonate it in the middle of the armed militia, using a combination of his programmed stealth techniques and expert bladesmanship they draw their blade and one by one cut down each gunman. Varin peeks out of the closet getting a better look but all he sees is a cloud of smoke followed by frantic blaster fire and screams. Eventually a relative quitness fills the hall as CC stands before a pile of 15 dead forces.

Varin covers Niers eyes, “Don’t look alright and cover your ears.” She nods as she covers her ears and Varin follows CC. As they round a corner CC is lifted up by an unseen force and thrown into the nearby wall. A man steps into the hallway chuckling. Varin could not get a good look at him as he was donned in full body armor and headgear.

A distorted voice breaches out of the speakers of the stranger, “You can’t sneak past me children. I offer you a choice, join me and I will let you both live.”

CC quickly speaks “DON’T DO IT, HE-” sparks fly as CC’s torso is crushed by this same unseen force. Varin hears CC’s sword clatter to the ground. Varin quickly grabs the sword and pushes Nier behind him.

“GET OUT OF MY HOME” He takes a stance.

The figure stands unphased. “Very well, my mercy ends there sith child.” He pulls out a silver hilt and ignites a white blade. Varin’s eyes widened; he has never seen anything like it before. A blade made purely of light. No matter, Varin is now the one to protect his sister and that is what he will do. He gives off his best battle yell as he runs towards the assailant. He is then pushed out of the way as Lady Ravnika stands between them.

“Varin, take your sister to bay zero. NOW” She looks at them with a face he had never seen before as she passes him a small metallic box. Her armor is already adorned with some wear as she pulls up her shield and a metal staff, the end of the staff ignites with a dark crimson hue.

Varin is stunned by what he is witnessing but he shakes it off and grabs nier heading towards his room first to grab his Sith blade.

Lady Ravnika and this mysterious intruder circle each other. Not a word is said but a story is told as they begin to duel. Their weapons clash and spark, scoring burns into the walls. As they duel, more gunmen appear to surround them.

“We don't have time for this, shoot her down!” The gunmen aim their weapons as Lady Ravnika slams her staff on the ground shattering it but the illuminated blade stay afloat circling her. The metal shards swirl around her like a mass school of fish. The gunmen fire but the shards protect her as one by one projectiles are sent into the bodies of each assailant.

“Leave Jedi, you are not welcome.”

The jedi disengages his saber. “Take the shot.”

A loud bang is heard as a window shatters and a spray of crimson decorates the floor, Lady Ravnika pauses for a moment before feeling a fiery pain just to the side of her sternum. She then collapses. After a moment the jedi approaches her.

“You should’ve stayed with the order Lady Ravnika, you had so much promise.” He walks over her and down the hall as she takes her last breath.

Varin sets Nier down in the room and starts frantically looking through his stuff. “Keep those ears and eyes closed Nier.” He grabs his sword and sheathes it before heading out of the hall with Nier on his back.

The jedi stands waiting for them in the hall. “Shall we continue Sith boy?” Varins heart sinks not seeing his mother, he knows that she is gone, but he tries to steel himself, he must press on with the mission. He raises his blade in a two handed stance. The jedi ignites his saber as they both stand before one another.

The jedi takes a couple of swings towards Varin as he parries them with his blade, Varin tries to counter but is also parried. Nier stands in the doorway of the bedroom keeping her ears covered but cant help but to peek. Varin seems to be holding his own against this jedi counter for counter. The jedi then force pulls a statue of a bust towards Varin forcing him to dodge, as he dodges the Jedi kicks him just below the sternum knocking the wind out of him. Varin lays on the floor struggling to breath, likely a rib or two is broken as he is then pick up by an unseen force and brought closer to the jedi.

“How unfortunate, you would have been a formidable duelist if you had come with us, but you have chosen your path.” He picks up his saber ready to deal a final blow before Nier screams distracting him. Varin uses the moment to kick the jedi in the face, knocking off his mask. The jedi falls backwards slightly before looking at Varin, revealing a human face, dark skin and long dreads tied tight behind his head, he glares at Varin with violet eyes.

“I’ll come for her next boy.” Varin freezes as he realises Nier has made herself a target. Thinking of any harm coming to her, Varin glares back at the jedi.

“You won’t take her, and you will not take me.” He growls at him. “You will not touch her, I will kill you if you do!” He lunges at the jedi, reinitiating the duel. The jedi seems to duel him with slightly more ease but Varin does not care, he fights on trying to find a way to pierce his defenses. Suddenly a blow is felt on his face as the jedi backhands Varin to the floor. Varin spits out a little bit of blood from a busted lip.

“I’ve had enough of this children.” He holds his saber over Varin ready to strike downward. “Sith should not be allowed to live, THEY ALL DESERVE TO PERISH!” He strikes downward towards Varin. The jedi feels an impact from the saber. Looking towards the ivory blade he sees a heavy blackened gauntleted hand grasped around his blade.

“DO NOT TOUCH MY CHILDREN!” Lord Mortifer holds the jedi up by his saber and throws him into the wall as he draws his sword, he presses a button in the missile of its hilt and the executioners blade begins to melt away revealing a deep crimson blades arcing with blackened lightning.

“You will make a fitting sacrifice to Ignati jedi.”

The jedi slowly stands on his guard as the towing figure stands before him. As he stands a gunman hidden in the shadows leaps for him with a vibrablade. Lord Mortifer quickly swings his heavy mace towards the noise and with a sickening wet crunch the assailant was silenced.

“OH it's been so long since i have had a worthy duel, fight me jedi or I will tear you asunder.”

The jedi runs toward him with his blade as Lord Mortifer deflects it while swinging his mace at him, the jedi just barely dodges it only to feel a massive fist slam into his sternum cracking a few ribs he lets out a pained breathless grunt as he is thrown to the ground.

Varin slowly picks himself up and grabs Nier, “We have to go.” He pulls her further down the hall as the sound of sabers clashing echoes behind them. “Keep your ears and eyes closed Nier, don't open them until I say so!” He makes their way to the garden exit and opens the door to see the garden completely engulfed in flame, the fires dance in Varin’s eyes as he watches the plants burn away. He shakes it out of his head and continues to pull Nier along “DON’T LOOK, STAY WITH ME!” They reach a shipping dock and he begins to enter a code to “BAY 0” inside of Bay 0 are unmarked ships perfectly designed for smuggling and hiding. As the doors open they hear a voice behind them.

“CHILDREN!” They both look and see the jedi holding the helmet of their father. Varins eyes widen as the jedi tosses the helmet at them. The jedi is heavily wounded and almost looks to barely be holding on.

“YOU WON'T GET AWAY FROM ME!” He yells at them to the point his voice breaks and raises his hands. All of the ships in Bay 0 creak and groan before they collapse. Varin draws his blade again hoping this is the last time he will have to. If he can distract the jedi long enough he can buy Nier time to escape. The jedi ignites his saber and Varin yells again running towards him. The jedi lifts him with the force and slams him into the ground knocking the wind out of him, before he can try to catch his breath he is drug along the ground and slammed into a stack of heavy shipping containers. Varin feel a pop in his side as he lets out a pained yell.
“I’m going to finish the job Sith, and rid this galaxy of you and the rest of your family, YOU won't stop me from my quest….hopefully your sister won't put up as much of a fight.”

Varin hears those words and sees his vision go red. He growls to the sith “You…will..not…TAKE HER!” His back ignites in flames as he crushes the nearby shipping containers and send the shards towards the jedi, the jedi deflects all of them and pulls Varin to him, Varin using the momentum darts towards the jedi with his blade slicing down, the jedi lets out a pained scream as his arm fall to the ground dropping his saber.

“YOU BASTARD” the jedi cries out to Varin and holds him with the force. Varin growls and strains against the jedi trying his best to move, as the jedi strains to contain him. Varin roars at him “I'M GOING TO KILL YOU” As he yells he feels a heat build up in his mouth as lightning blasts out of his mouth towards the jedi knocking him back and releasing Varin. Gunmen show up just as the jedi falls and they pull him back, opening fire on Varin. Varin grabs a nearby plate and holds it in front of him as he runs towards the blaster fire sword in hand, one by one with his enhanced speed and strength he cuts down each gunmen as the others escape with the mortally wounded jedi. Varin stands before 13 dead gunmen before he finally begins to calm down. He sees Nier who looks absolutely frightened of him, Varin begins to walk closer to her before he sees his face in a nearby puddle. His face is covered in blood. He quickly tries to wipe it off with his shirt as he grabs Nier. “We are almost out Nier, let's check bay 1.”

They both head towards bay 1 which is full of outdated ships and they both begin to board one. He hops into the cockpit and starts hitting buttons that he believes will start the ship. To his luck the ship roars to life as they begin to pull out of the bay. They can hear the impacts of blaster bolts in the sides of the ship as they begin to take off, before they can get their final thrust a missile impacts the rear of the ship critically damaging it. The memory fades to black.
