Kianna had been focused in on what her master and [member="Akio Diachi"] had been doing. She studied them well, watching intently. When they had been told to choose a partner to practice with, Kianna had looked quickly, seeing [member="Yag'dril"], but she widened her eyes upon seeing how much force she had behind her throw when she lost control of her saber. She thought about Akio, but [member="Ryn'Dhal"] was already occupying him. [member="Zhenhua"] seemed like a very interesting and fun choice, but she decided to let her warm up before challenging her. [member="Lily Hex-Volsh"] seemed like another energetic and interesting choice, but she didn't know the girl's style. [member="Aurellis Arterius"] seemed cool until she saw [member="Ben Corscifine"].

She kept her eyes on Ben, but she was a little distracted by Ryn and Akio. When she looked back over, both of their gazes met each other and she saw as he was motioning for her to go over with him. With a slight nod, she walked over, being sure to not interfere with the other padawans and gave a small smile. He was a few inches taller than her and he seemed to be about her age.

"Hey. I'm Kianna."

she offered an introduction. Kianna was pretty excited to be working with lightsabers again. As she stood in front of Ben, he would be able to see twin sabers on her belt already. She showed in appearance to be more experienced, but truth be told, she was a bit clumsy, acrobatic and had a very small knowledge of Soresu.

Ben was glad to see that his gesture was understood: he had worried that the young woman would not make the connection between Ryn's instruction to partner up and Ben's vague head nodding. When Kianna made her introduction, Ben offered a cordial smile and extended a hand. Ben had once read that shaking hands developed as a sign of trust between individuals, to show that neither was carrying a weapon with the intention of attacking the other. Ironic, Ben thought, that this act was a prelude to a sparring session.
Ben noted Kianna's two lightsabers as she approached him. Interesting, Ben thought, not knowing how dual-wielding and Soresu paired--or even, for that matter, if Kianna intended to use two weapons. The flurry of blades would serve an interesting challenge for Ben's attempt to master the barrier-like method that was Soresu.

As the Chiss and the teacher continued their dance, Ben responded to his new partner but turned again to the demonstration. He didn't want to distract from what the feline knight was doing, nor had they been told what to do in their pairing. The young man wasn't sure if he was meant to be focusing on Ryn or on working with Kianna. He muttered his response, "Hello, Kianna. I'm Ben Corscifine. Are you with the Silver Jedi?"

Ben wondered for a moment whether most of the padawans here belonged to the same order as the teacher. Ben himself was just an invited guest, but he deemed it safe to assume that the others were full-time students, just as he had been on Lothal before that Order fell out from underneath him. For a moment Ben considered if he would be happier in an environment like the one on Voss. Now that he had fallen in with Justice Shipping, he rarely actually felt like a Jedi save for the fact that he generally had a saber in hand. Standing among Force Users, feeling the connection of the place and people to him through the Force, Ben felt a nostalgic longing for something that he had convinced himself he resented: the stability of a home and an order.

But now he was waxing sentimental. He really needed to get to the fighting portion of this trip.

So.....This is a whole new world for the young padawan, she generally got special attention from her masters, this was actually her first "class" for a specific style rather being tutored. In that sense she felt a bit spoiled when the master of the class, in a way, shrugged off her presence though she knew that wasn't really the case. The teacher after all had to try to run a class filled with other students with different needs. She gave him a respectful bow and took off her saber gauntlets she had made with master [member="Nico Minuro Ike"] realizing that she wouldn't need them. She walked over, rather than use the force, to grab one of the sabers that he had provided and looked around taking in her environment as her father had taught her. As she copied the steps of her fellow students, she began to think just how much this wasn't her style. It was tradition but it was slow as it was clumsy, at least that was what she was assuming how it was with the way of training she was used to already. But the normally overly vocal young girl kept her mouth shut, it was rude to question a teacher let alone a master of the art, so she merely listened and copied the movements of the other students learning as much as she could even though she was bored and it could be seen on her face.

As Ben reached out to shake her hand, she accepted and took his hand with a good, firm handshake.. She was strong just... clumsy. Her main focus was on [member="Ryn'Dhal"]'s training example with [member="Akio Diachi"] but as she saw Ben, her focus was immediately completely turned to him. At this point, Ben had a better chance at winning considering the fact that Kianna's main form was Ataru. Since it was training though, the double blades on her belt would stay where they hung and she would use the training saber given.

Kianna noticed Ben's glance going between her and Ryn's exercise with Akio. She honestly loved watching Ryn. He was so smooth and practically flawless with his moves. She then looked back over to Ben as he introduced himself.

"Pleasure to meet you, Ben. Yes, I am with the Silver Jedi. Ryn is my master.. are you with the Silver Jedi as well?"

she responded kindly, calmly and in the same tone as she was also a little curious as to what they were to do with themselves at that moment. She guessed he was but then again, if he was, she surely would have recognized him. Kianna studied him for a second, awaiting his response as she looked back to Ryn'Dhal.

"Remember Akio.... feel my movements.... my intent.... I shall not mask them now. That would be for a later lesson." The masked Knight stated, with a light measure of mirth. After the Chiss was ready, the Knight flourished his blade, striking the opening stance for Ataru, before springing into action.

With a level of agility unexpected of one his size, he darted forth, a low, shallow slash, directed at Akio's right ankle. When the inevitable sound and feel of contact was made, be it blade or body, Ryn'Dhal had already begun diving into a roll, silver-blade lashing out towards what could be the exposed lower left trunk, the path of the blade working from the Chiss' front towards his back. Making light contact with the ground after his roll, hand first, the masked Knight brought feet overhead in a very tight tumble, landing in a tight crouch. Suddenly, a vigorous explosion of movement, as he launched himself in a high arching back-flip, over his opponent, lashing with his blade for Akio's right shoulder.

At the end of the flip, he'd land lightly on the balls of his feet, almost dancing away from the blue-skinned warrior. He deactivated his blade, and looked to the others. "Now then, any who have paired up, go ahead and take a turn each. One practicing on defense for a series of strikes, the other on offense. Then switch." He'd note who'd paired, and who hadn't. He also made note of a particularly bored Padawan. A smirk cut across the Knight's face, amused, before turning back to the Chiss.

Stepping close, and speaking just loud enough for Akio to hear, he'd clasp the warriors hand before offering a small bit of praise and advice. "You performed well. I can tell, this form in it's natural state, is not quite for you my friend. But, I also can tell, in learning it's flows, it's techniques, it's strengths and weaknesses, will aid you greatly in crafting your own, unique style." His warm, soothing voice danced the short distance between the two, as he shook the Chiss' hand firmly. "Now, I think I shall take another of the padawan for a quick lesson.... As I don't believe they fully appreciate what this form could truly be...." a definitive smirk could be heard, if not felt, in the masked-one's voice. Gesturing to the class, he nodded. "Mr. Diachi, if you would be so kind as to select another of the students to pair off with for the exercise....."

As the Chiss moved on, Ryn'Dhal faced the collective, before orienting his mask squarely on the young Zeltron. "Lily.... perhaps you might like to join me up here?" He'd ask, a smile affixed upon that unseen face.

The large centaur of a womman had moved off to the side to stick with it, she was prepared to work on more of the saber form and well the rotations were very different for herself but defensive stance wise she knew how to protect her flank. She was moving seeing the others who were using the blade and it was providing her with a lot of the work that she could be doing. "Like this." She was curious but there was a whol lot more fo them all around the area. Sticking with the jedi here she could learn a lot when her equipment that was moving made small sounds until she slowed down sticking where she was for a moment longer. A few ideas going on in her mind about how to compensate for the lack of real mobility with a wider area of coverage.

She could see the others and had moved into a coiled positions she herself could hold and practice the rotations for a moment or two. It was easier to move around somewhat and with her body focused she found a little area she could perch her tail and majority of her body onto. It let her hang down and present less of a target to everything else when going around. "Better I hope." She was curious working with herself to stick over with one or two things. Staying in the area around herself away from the others was a small challenge though as all she wanted to do was moved and weave through them with her body but that would be rude and violating their personal space.

Akio Diachi

For it was All but a Dream
Don't think. Feel.

The words echoed through Akio's mind before Ryn's sparing volley. His mind went to a zen, no-thinking zone of pure reaction.

He twirled his blade across the back of his hand, stopping in a two-handed reverse grip that deflected the first blow away. Carrying the momentum of the blade onward, the Chiss shifted his weight on his heels, his body angling in time for him to catch the blade a fraction of an inch from his skin. The Blue Pilgrim tossed his weapon overhead in a tight arc, the cyan blade vanished the moment he released it from his left hand. His right hand and snatched it from the underhand to an overhand position. His thumb flicked the blade alive with a hiss. If it were a millisecond later his blue skin would have stung with agony.

Was he showing off? No--well..... Ok.... Not intentionally.

Akio took the fellow knight's hand and smiled appreciatively at the positive review.

"Thank you, sir," he said with a slight bow. "I am glad you find my performance satisfactory."

He turned to make space for the new student. A zeltron lady. He looked across the rest of the class, trying to find someone who needed/wanted a sparing partner.

@Anyone I missed.

Finally the order had been given: Ben could start actually doing something. He turned square to his partner and looked her up and down. He could feel the energy of the padawans that were gathered there heightening with nervousness--or maybe that was just Ben. He felt always the need to prove something, to perform. Being an outsider with the Silvers, he felt this need more clearly at this particular time. "No, I'm not with the Silvers, but I have worked with them before. I trained for a time, a while ago, with Boo Chiyo, and I know your master through James Justice. I used to be with the Order on Lothal, but they have sort of fallen apart as I understand it." Ben raised his training saber and ignited the blade, breathing more slowly as the whirring of the weapon begun. "You wanna show me how you do it on Voss? Do you want to attack or defend first?"

Ben would have preferred to attack first, his style being generally offensive, but he secretly hoped that by giving Kianna the opportunity to chose, she would force him to defend first. Soresu was primarily a form of defense, parrying and deflecting incoming threats until the opponent was worn down. The best offense was a good defense, so the proponents of the form would argue--Ben, on the other hand, had always preferred Shien's offensive defense in his limited experience. If he was going to learn anything from this, he would actually have to try something new.

Voss, such a lovely world. Living, breathing, growing, vibrant greenery as far as the eye could see. And the trees! Ah, Gods above, the trees are splendid! At least that was the case just about anywhere outside the cities. Lorraei had come to find trees to be among the most wondrous things the galaxy had to offer, second only to oceans. Born to the harsh sands and twin suns of Tatooine, magnificent green trees and sparkling, endless blue oceans were simply breathtaking.

Lorraei sat high in the boughs of one such magnificent tree, his legs hanging from either side of the thick limb, his back resting against the trunk. He wasn't supposed to on Voss, so naturally he defied the edict of the Jedi who ordered him to leave so long ago. When last Ray had set foot on this world, tracking his illusive Mistress Keira, there had been a minor confrontation with a Jedi Master named Connor. The result being a few harsh words exchanged and the Silver Jedi Master commanding that Lorraei leave before matters escalated.

Ray, ever one to denounce authority figures, had no choice but to return, albeit a good deal of time had passed since then. Returning didn't necessarily mean he came looking to cause issues for himself or his Mistress Keira. Instead he returned like a spector. His typically vibrant red and purple robes were abandoned for much darker attire. More importantly, his very presence within the Force was suppressed to near nonexistence. Only a spark of his aura, not much more than any other living thing, was discernable as he reclined on his high perch.

Not far off, though far enough that only those truly searching for him would ever notice his presence, a rather peculiar group of Jedi had gathered. A masked figure, no doubt a Knight or Master, was leading the group through a variety of excersises. He recognized the patterns of the Soresu saber form rather quickly, being one of the only forms he knew with any proficiency. The flowing technique that minimized movement and effortlessly provided a splendid defense against nigh anything, once mastered at any rate.

Content that he was unobserved, Ray lit a cigarette and continued to watch as young Jedi paired off to train. His gaze moved from Jedi to Jedi, lingering now and then on the odd species had never seen before. One some sort of half equine, one a serpent like creature, and at last the masked instructor who seemed to have a long, furry tail. An odd group to be sure.

To the left then to the right, she swung with the movements of soreau with a flick of the wrist then waved her hip in a dancing motion. That was the way of form II! Wait...No, that didn't seem right, as she looked around no one moved the way she did. How boring. She accidently puffed out her lower lip showing a slight pout, a habit she formed whenever she was bored or wanting something. "A Lorrdian never shows their emotions or movements, Little bird." The voice of her father echoed in her mind when she made her pout. What was the worst that could happen if one did? She giggled and hummed at the thought while practicing the movements but not before long she heard the teacher call out her name. "Oh no! Dad was right!" She thought in her head. "I've been had...." She whispered as she turned around to face the masked mask of super meanness. She puffed up her chest slightly with air in her cheeks before breathing slightly out and walking up to the teacher. "Yes?" She asked giving him a look and bashing her eyelashes.
