While Frank was busy shooting every creature that came out of the woodwork it seemed like for everyone he turned into a hamburger 2 more took its place. damn we can't keep this up sooner or later we will be overwhelmed. Frank thought to himself after reloading his Lmg unfortunately one of the creatures got a little too close for comfort rending his arm and bowling frank over.

With his gun knocked out of his hand and pinned to the floor the creature began clawing at franks chest tearing into the armor "Fuck someone gets this thing off me!" He yelled his good arm trying to wrestle his hand cannon out of its holster while his cybernetic arm was busy trying to get the creature off him Sparks coming off the arm from the damage it took just a few moments ago made its movements quite sluggish.

Damn it would be like this lightyears away from home survived nearly dieing in my first tore only to be disemboweled by some creature frank thought to himself as the second ticking by seemed like eternity. Hopefully his teammates wont leave him out to dry.

Sometimes, a second was too fast.

In but the blink of an eye, the scenario changed. The intel that had been collected beforehand might as well had been yote into the nearest circle file. Now, Venom Squad was operating on instinct and experience. For the most part, it seemed as though the Squad had emerged from the collapse of the ceiling relatively unscathed. That was excellent. The last thing they needed were injuries upon landing. Or worse. Now, the elephant in the room had begun to pour down from the ceiling. Despite how grotesque and malformed their bodies were, the creatures were fast.

Yet the DAUNTLESS were quick on the draw.

As soon as the unholy fethers began raining down, the sound of weapons fire filled the corridor. Rifles. LMG. Blasters. Every flavor rained from the squad and into the flood of adversaries. Titus' mind raced, piecing together an audible to call. That was when his Squad made their stances known. The mindset on the field? They needed a better defensive position. Raising his own rifle against the fray, Titus sprayed down a pair of the monstrosities before turning towards the opposing direction. The motions of his eye were enough to direct his HUD: A full-spectrum scan was launched.

At times, a second was too slow.

The data collected was simple. There was a Lift up ahead - and the pings did not detect movement from above it. Best case scenario, that section of ceiling held out and they could form a defensive line. Titus parted his lips to give the order when a cry that was not demonic reached his ears. Turning, he saw one of the creatures leap for Corporal Sterling. Titus' rifle raised and fired off two bursts clean into the beast's skull. It went limp, long enough that the Sergeant was able to thunder over and crush what remained of its head under his boot.

"There's a lift south of our position, move, move, move!" he called, pausing to reach down and to pull Sterling back onto his feet. "We'll hold them off at the lift, Venom, on the double!"

Whilst his order was carried out, Titus turned to face the onslaught. His rifle began to sing an old, fundamental hymn with each pull of the trigger. Bursts were placed deliberately on the beasts' bodies as he backpedaled, attempting to buy his Squad time to position. He'd focus on dropping one, but incapacitating another. Forcing them to lumber over the carcass before advancing. They were quick, but they weren't quicker than his trigger finger. They had this. They were trained for this. By his estimation, it wouldn't take long for the team to arrive at the Lift's doors and to dig in.

Once there, they could work on putting a hush to the monstrosities.

The monsters just kept coming. His training made him aim for quick and clean killshots but every time he put a short burst into one their heads the monsters just kept coming. At first he thought it was just remaining energy in the body, a last ditch pulse before failing and dropping completely, but he was wrong. Instead of just taking one step and hitting the floor dead the monsters took another step, and another step, and another. It was going to take more than just a clean headshot to put them down. Eldin may have been complaining about all the ammo packs he'd had to carry on this mission in their prepwork but now he was very thankful that he had a mass amount of powerpacks at his disposal.

He was spending way too much time on any one target than he would have preferred but it was necessary to bring the vile things down. He had blasted the arms off of one creature and it paused in its tracks and suddenly it's spine shot upwards ripping it's upper and lower body in half and making it grow about two feet, two very large pincers erupted from it's back and the thing howled at him with a piercing shriek that cut right through the decibel damper in his helmet.

"Seriously!?" He yelled. "I've had about enough of this!" That was about when the First Sergeant gave the order to take up a position near the back of the lift. More of those creatures were doing that explosive growth thing now, some of them growing more pincers than the others. As the squad began to fall back with their First Sergeant, Eldin reached into his pack and laid down a low yield explosive charge on the floor. It wouldn't cause any structural damage but it had enough power to turn those creatures into tiny chunks of meat and hopefully they stayed that way. They didn't need any more surprises.

Eldin made it to the lift and turned around and covered Dreyn as she had done for him while he'd been avoiding the collapsing ceiling. He could hear crackling audio in his comms and it sounded like Subject 73 Red Subject 73 Red but the radio link was too weak to be made out before it fizzled completely. "Sir, long range comms are out. Once we're done with this we need to figure out if it's just because of the power outage or if these things messed up the relay, and we need to find Red." He said to Dorn as he handed him the detonator for the charge he had placed before heading for the lift.

Dreyn knew a thing or two about messing with living beings to make weird creatures. She definitely knew enough to recognize such cases.

Hell, she was the result of it herself. Although, the crazy motherkarker that had created her alongside others at least had the decency of making them look pretty. This, these creatures, were something else entirely. The alleged Arkanian stood her ground in the very same position she had adopted at the beginning, squeezing the trigger with precision and speed to try to buy as much time as possible for those that had tarried or been slowed down by the falling ceiling. The very ceiling that still did nothing but keep on creaking and struggling as what could only be described as an endless tide of deformities poured from the floor above.

Even when the First Sergeant gave the order, she would be part of the ones who stayed to stop the creatures while their squadmates moved towards their next location, the lift. With every passing second the creatures were getting closer, her firepower becoming insufficient to deal with them all. It was only then that she began backtracking, thankful for Sergeant Rake's friendly fire that eased the task of safely making her way towards the defensible position.

She could barely understand Sergeant Red through the comms, but the gist of it sounded bad enough. Dreyn reached the lift just as Rake called out to Titus, a nod of her head indicated her agreement to him - she would have been more vocal about it if it were not for the fact she was currently busy shooting down freakish creatures. The situation they were in was a delicate one. She knew there was no way they would give up on regrouping with the Sergeant until there were no more options to exhaust...at the same time they had no way of knowing what laid between them.

This first surprise had been bad enough.

As she helped Rake keep the surrounding area to the lift clear so that the rest could reach them, she spoke into the comm, finally breaking her silence. "I'm blowing this place up as soon as we are out." She had already began identifying the load-bearing walls of the structure, her explosives would look nice on them one she got the chance to begin setting them. After all, they needed to make sure none of this beasts made it out of the station.

Taking the offered hand and rising to his feet Frank looked around at the area around him before pulling his Battle rifle off his back and putting the lmg in his place. "Ok sound off whos not dead? if you are still alive Like Titus said get your asses to the lift south of us." Looking to Titus. Frank jesters to the lift Racking the slide on the battle rifle he began making short 3 round bursts at the creatures starting at neck height so that the recoil of each burst would take out the heads of these creatures.

One, two, three, Frank counted to himself as his bursts began popping the head off the creatures like a cork on a fine krill ale. As two began crawling on the walls to flank left of him he would draw his revolver and empty most of the cylinder at them causing them to fall in heaps of broken flesh from the shredder rounds. Frank holstered the pistol his arm giving off sparks from the damage it's sustained from the falling debris and the creature that got to him. damn i gotta watch my ammo count my arms gonna make reloading a bit slower than usual.... Frank thought to himself "Titas do me a favor if one of those things try dragging me off kill me ok? I'm gonna be completely honest with you something tells me either these things are our guys and something caused them to become this way or these things ate them either or isn't a good outcome."

As Frank would assist Titas in holding them off He got a really stupid idea. "So stupid idea just crossed my mind, These things have been living in the pitch blackness of this place with little to no sound other than the creaking of the ship right?" Frank said not liking his own idea as the words came out of his mouth "So if that's the case if enough noise is made away from this position it may lead them away from this position so long as you guys don't make much more noise right?"

Another transfer. Another squad. It was starting to become a way of life for Tegan; being moved around because no one knew what they needed to do with her. The fact that she was still willing and able to be here, to be a soldier, was more than enough to keep her part of the Corp. The problem came with finding a place for her to belong now. Before, Tee had been able to fit in anywhere, where ever she was needed. After, well...Here she was, transferred again. The situation was of course the same, the jobs, the tasks at hand, all the same. The difference was the squad, the people.

None of those things made a difference however. Like the others, Tegan had geared up. She had made sure her equipment was functioning, she made sure her weapons were loaded and ready to go, and then she was on the move with the rest of the squad. When her pod had hit, she had been quick to exit and fall into place, or at least attempt to. She had crashed in just far enough away to see the others, but had to close the gap of distance to regroup - and halfway in between where she had been and where they were, all hell broke loose.

This is where muscle memory came into play. This is where not remembering who she was didn't matter, because her body remembered. All doubts and questions about who she had been disappeared and the pair of blaster rifles came up. "Why is it that no one ever goes missing any place nice?" her voice rang out over the comm, considering she was still close range. But she was moving, putting as many rounds from the weapons in her hands between herself and these beasty creatures as possible.

Though as she made her way to the others, she heard what was being said about the creatures living in the darkness. "Wait, do we know how long they've actually been living in the dark? Has this place not been operational at all recently?" Had she seriously missed a serious bit of information when they were being briefed over this whole debacle? "And if that's the case, anyone got a flashbang or something? I think that would cause more damage than making a whole lot of noise elsewhere."

Maybe...Hell anything was a good idea at this point, really. So long as it got these things away from the squad.

It was going to be a tight squeeze to get all of the squad into one, secured location. Not that a tight fit should really bother anybody with all of the training and conditioning the lot of them had been through together. Still, in situations like these, it could get...fussy. Nevertheless, while the others were still working to regroup, Blair's blaster was put to use for cover. She aimed for the legs of these things, taking out limbs when able to slow them down at the very least and then would aim for the head - or throat if that was the open shot. Thankfully the others with heavier ammo were unloading into the fray and that made her attempts to look feeble but was still surely appreciated by the group.

So with her doing less damage and the others closing in, Blair stepped back away from the heavy hitters and into the lift so that she would be out of the way. Her free hand reached up behind herself, making sure her medkit was still secured and easily accessible in case anyone needed medical attention when they clammored their way into the lift as well. It was there, still in one piece, and it wouldn't take up too much room if it was needed. Already her mind was racing with possible injuries that may need patched up. The armor they wore was durable, suited for anything and everything really, but hell anything could happen.

Anything that she - and of course Ezekiel - would be ready for if the need arose. Though even with that in mind, Blair tried to make herself as small as possible to make sure there was plenty of room for whoever else fit themselves inside the lift. "Lets just hope they don't try to burrow in from the top..." she did murmur, lifting her gaze to the ceiling briefly as she did so.

Red frowned whenever all he heard was static over the commlink. Great... that meant that long range comms were out. Just Red's luck... Everything about this mission was already going to chit and it had only just begun. He had a feeling that it was only going to get worse from here.

Red deactivated his lightsaber and put it back onto his utility belt. Then, he turned down the hallway and started sprinting down the corridor. He could hear the monsters right behind him, rushing after him. Despite their grotesque appearance, the buggers were quite fast, which made them all the more terrifying. He pulled out a blaster pistol and started firing behind him to try and slow down their advance on Red. He could hear their horrible shrieks as some blaster bolts hit them, and he could even hear some fall, but they kept on coming.

Red turned to the right, heading down a different corridor, the monsters were still in hot pursuit, chasing him. He continued firing behind him as he ran down the halls, still trying to slow them down. Then, up ahead, he could see more of them at the intersection. He groaned and speed up. Using the wall, he pushed off, and jumped over them. He landed on his feet and continued running. The monsters just weren't giving up, as they came around the corner and continued the pursuit.

Soon, Red found an open door and dove inside. He pressed the console, and luckily the door had enough juice to close. As it closed, Red could see the monsters right in front of the doorway, trying to get in. He fired at them with his blaster pistol, and then the door closed, and he stopped. He could still hear the creatures trying to tear through the door from the outside, but luckily the door was strong enough to withhold them.

Red breathed heavily, sitting on the floor, almost exhausted. That had been... close. That was way too close for comfort.

Red raised his comms again. "Hello? Can anyone hear me? Those things chased me through the station, and now I'm trapped in a room, barricading myself from them. I'm in subsection C-12 now." He said into the commlink.

For now, he would just wait in this room, at least until the monsters left. He had to keep moving if he wanted to try and locate the others.

No one was moving. Save for the explosives expert, Dreyn, who might have just as well blown them all up before they actually got the chance to retreat from their current position. And with the monsters continuing to bear down on them from practically every angle, the longer that they stood around, the better chance their position they would be overrun. Even he didn’t carry enough damn bacta to handle what these..things would do to them once they had the squad cornered. And worse yet, the sound of Subject 73 Red Subject 73 Red crackling through the comms could barely be heard, so something was interfering with their comms.

This was falling apart much too quickly for any of these newbies to handle, even as a squad. So Ezekiel did the only thing that made sense to him.

He created a way out.

Despite being a medic, he always carried two grenades with him. A thermal detonator, so that no matter what, he would make sure to go out with a bang…and an incendiary grenade. The cylindrical object was lobbed down the hallway in front of the squad that had now gathered out of their pods, exploding into a wave of flame that immediately lit the monstrosities on fire. He had no idea the fire would be as effect as it had been, but by the screams of the things, it seemed as though the fire was…quite good at making these things feel pain.

Without another seconds wait, the hulking commando charged forward into the burning flesh and slammed through it, knowing full well that the armor surrounding his body could take it easily. “Move forward! We need to get out of this zone now!” The others would follow, hopefully quicker than the monsters behind them. Even as his final step pushed out of the still burning things, he could hear more converging upon them from the ceiling above them. If they were going to get out of this, it would take a hell of an effort.

The hallway that he had cleared quickly opened up into a t section, prompting his mind to quickly choose what direction to go. The sight of the left side containing more of the hungry beast made that decision very, very easy. Bursting toward the right, it wasn’t long until an open room of some kind could be seen. “In here, lets go!” Sliding into what could only be described as a cargo hull, Ezekiel stood ready at the door’s control, ready to slam it shut the moment his brothers and sisters go to safety.

It was chaos.

Total anarchy raged around them as the horrid creatures pressed the offensive hard. Hanging back for better vantage, she kept shooting like mad, her Verpine Rifle making nice little holes in skulls. Not that it helped much, as more just kept on coming.

She heard Titus' order to move to the lift, but could net let up firing as these things stayed on her comrades heels. Yet it seemed that Ezekiel had a better idea.

The thermal detonator did its job well. Flaming lollipops of creatures milled around, creating the opening they needed. Clicking her rifle onto her back once more, she drew her pistol and jumped up to follow the medic as he barreled through the barbecue, firing AP rounds at those not charred as she went. It worried her that Subject 73 Red Subject 73 Red was separated from them and they couldn't hear him properly, but first and foremost they had to get to safety themselves before they could help him.

Following Ezekiel through the cleared hallway, still firing left and right. The Verpine pistol did more damage to the creatures than a normal sidearm, but it still did not do the damage required to blow them apart. At least it slowed them down some or dropped them from where they were crawling on the ceiling like abominable spiders.

Finally they found a room. Asta did not follow inside just yet. Instead she dropped to one knee again just outside the door, pulling her rifle from her back once more to provide cover fire as her comrades came filing down the hallway with creatures hot on their heels.
"Come on! In here!" she told them, only motioning with her head slightly, as she was busy shooting the chit out of the abominations, her HUD and scope working overtime.

Reloading his LMG Frank held his ground providing covering fire for anyone to follow the medic or "Go ill provide covering fire ill be right behind you." Frank said over his comms before looking at Titus Dorn. and gestured towards the medic and where he went. Controlling his breathing Frank would empty half of his second mag into the ceiling before setting off short controlled bursts at anything trying to get its claws of his squadmates.

As one tried to lunge at him this time he was ready as he caved its skull in with a haymaker from his robotic arm before sending a burst into the creature's crumpled body. his moment of bravado was interrupted when Red wasn't nearby. but in a section of the ship designated C-12. Once people began haulling ass towards the medic Frank would put his lmg back on his back before unholstering his pistol and checking his hud for the location of C-12. "Fuck this is a stupid idea," he said to himself as he rushed forward picking up a section of metal he knocked away to use as a shield. Frank by this point was grateful for his extensive cybernetics and gen 2 armor as he rushed down the corridor towards the location of C-12. he won't make the same mistake as before and let someone else get hurt again even if it means going under the knife to get "repaired".

"Stay put Subject 73 Red Subject 73 Red I'm on my way but be ready on that door," Frank said over his comms pulling a pin on his only granade and tossing it down a separate hallway to get the creature's attention as he ran. firing off a shot or two at the creatures that tail him or him shield bashes.
