With the entire facility thrown into chaos it made the trek to retrieve James rather easy. Anara had been hoping for something else entirely. Ah well, she'd get her pound of flesh in the end, of that she was certain.
Rounding a corner, [member="Stardust"] and [member="Gray Raxis"] following close behind her dead orbs zeroed in on the retreating forms of a group of six men. Held between the five others was James,
her James. The rage she'd been holding in check by a mere thread tore loose and Anara
screeched. Immediately the attention of the men holding James captive was caught and as they turned Anara was already approaching, her veins turning black beneath her pallid skin.
Blaster fire greeted her, but she deflected each blast with a sweep of her pink blade. As she moved closer to the band attempting to escape with what was hers the air began to grow heavy. Despite the heavy nature of the air surrounding them Anara's hair began to stir, a gentle breeze sweeping around her as power rolled off her in sickening waves.
Four of the men had stopped to fire shot after shot at her, as though that would stop her, but the two remaining men seemed to be arguing about what to do. One seemed intent to take James, but the other seemed to think his life was worth more than trying to steal James away. Smart man, but not smart enough.
Anara didn't give any of them a chance, save the last two. Star had asked her to spare the important ones so that she could glean their reason for taking James in the first place. She'd get her chance to tear them apart, mentally and physically when Star was done. She could wait.
Without wasting another moment she let go, allowing the full depravity of her soul be bared.
This time there was no music. No illusions. Anara was done playing games.
Lightning, as black as her eyes and the blood in her veins, sprang forth from her outstretched hand to strike the four guards. They shrieked in agony before collapsing, muscle spasms silencing them as Anara cooked them. Only when their bodies ceased to shake and one of the guards had exploded like an over cooked bit of meat did Anara relent. The stench of burning flesh filled the stagnant air, blood and bits of bone and flesh coated the hallway, but still the two remaining men sought to escape with what was rightfully hers.
Snarling she took ahold of both men and cast them away from James violently, no longer caring whether or not one of them survived for Star. Stepping through the gore, her boots crushing anything in her path, Anara was beside James in a matter of seconds.
"James," she breathed, hands that had moments before brought death now sweeping over him tenderly. Sweetly she brushed his sweat and blood matted hair from his face, ebony eyes holding his gaze. She smiled and leaned down to press a sweet kiss to his broken lips, his head cradled in her lap.
"I was alone. I was tied. And you saved me. You set my heart on fire. You gave me life. Now you rise. Headed for the Sun.And I know I’m right behind you. Live like you feel. Reach for the unknown. And know my fire is always with you," she murmured against his lips as slowly the black began to recede from her gaze. The inky color of her veins vanished and her skin took on a healthier tone as the air within the gore stained hallway lightened.
Her focus was solely upon James, the souls within her still screaming for more blood.
"I love you [member="James Justice"]...don't leave me," she murmured further, eyes slipping closed as she held him close, Star and Gray forgotten.
