GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Clerics of Jadus
  • Affiliation: Order of Wonosa
  • Classification: Sith Inquisitor
  • Description: Wearing shrouds of dread just as well as they do their dark and maroon robes, Jadusin Clerics are imposing not in physical presence but rather in the realms of the psychological and mystical. Auras of malice and terror surround them at all times and their cold dispositions set them apart not as sadistic or cruel tormentors but rather calculating and oppressive predators. Their dark armor isn't too out of place among the other Sith forces of Wonosa but their occultism focus is adorned on their armor's carvings and style which sets them apart somewhat, making them almost as visually identifiable as their presence in the Force does.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Rare
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: The Clerics of Jadus normally function as interrogators and special operatives mainly centered around espionage and information gathering duties, but when deployed on the battlefield they occupy a rather different and unusual role. Unlike most other Sith in the Wonosan ranks they aren't similar to shock troops at all, instead more comparable to a sort of mobile artillery. Using their arcane understanding of the Force and typically working together with one another or other Sith in squads of their own the Jadusin pool their strength into powerful and potent manifestations of the Force, such as loosing entire storms worth of lightning upon their foes or driving spikes of fear and agony that debilitate whole battlefields at a time. Rituals commenced mid-battle are their specialty.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): Mind Shard, Force Lightning, Mind Trick, Telekinesis, Drain Knowledge, Summon Fear
Strengths:
  • Mental Inquisitors: The mind is the favored battlefield of the Clerics of Jadus, with many of their abilities and training hinging on being able to manipulate and infiltrate the minds of their foes. Typically this is in the form of interrogation and corruption of captured or otherwise contained individuals, but through uniting their strength with other Sith and Clerics they can even project this mental warfare onto a wider scale and effect battles themselves with their arts.
  • Forged, Not Born: The Jadusin are some of the most well trained and capable of Wonosan Sith not only in mental fortitude and Force aptitude but also in real experience and achievement. To become part of the Clerics of Jadus is to excel enough in dueling their foes to claim and bleed a lightsaber, as well as being able to withstand an intense mental barrage from Darth Strosius Himself which could very well lead to the victim becoming comatose. As a result the Jadusin are seen by many as the pinnacle of Wonosan Sith and very well might be.
Weaknesses:
  • Icons of Horror: Due to their enhancements, equipment, and the nature of their training as a whole, the Clerics of Jadus are very easily distinguished and detected within the Force even by those not gifted with the Force at all. While typically this aura of dread works in their favor, it almost totally precludes them from any sort of infiltration or stealth missions as they are simply too noticeable and distinct.
  • Backblast: True to their odd role as "living artillery" the Jadusin Clerics can indeed be rather vulnerable on the battlefield when directly confronted. Despite each one being a fairly competent duelist in their own right, the spells and Force powers that they channel in their role during battle can rather easily be interrupted and thus prone to being unleashed prematurely or even against them and their allies. For this reason they are typically accompanied by escorts but this risk is no less present even then, as any significant distraction could disrupt their focus enough to ruin their careful weaving of the Force.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
While essentially every Sith within the Order of Wonosa has been trained by Darth Strosius to some extent or degree, only a select few can truly be counted amongst those instructed in the darkest and most forbidden arts of the Sith by the Prophet of Bogan Himself. The Clerics of Jadus represent the majority of these select few. To even be eligible to be selected a potential Cleric must undergo two particular trials, one of skill and the other of will. The skill trial consists of slaying a lightsaber-wielding opponent and bleeding their crystal to be put to use for themselves, an act which while not uncommon for the Sith of Wonosa to practice is typically not a requirement or even expectation.

The act of bleeding a crystal is seen as the first true test of a potential Jadusin, as to the ability to wrench and bend another existence to their will is the foundation of many of their esoteric abilities. The trial of will is one that is far more unusual and harsher, surviving a mental onslaught from Darth Strosius Himself. In this instance He will not hold back nor allow the potential Cleric any real time to prepare themselves, they will either emerge intact or will succumb and crumble. Death or falling into a coma are two potential yet extreme outcomes as Darth Strosius will relent when He sees an aspiring Cleric beginning to fail, but these risks and consequences do indeed occur for many that try and reach too high.

For those that can withstand the full might of their Prophet battering into their very soul, they become trained to master the mind as their tool and battleground of choice. Sith Sorcery becomes the focus of their training as well as mental warfare, making them mystical savants and insidious presences all in one. A single Jadusin is enough of a threat but when working in tandem with other Sith and especially other Clerics they become an unrelenting and fearsome force that can easily sway the tides of battle with their arcane arts and psychological prowess. Although usually they will focus their efforts on one person at a time, breaking down their foe until all that they have ever been and known is laid bare for them to peruse.
