Braze gently placed the second crab alongside the smaller one, watching as it assumed a similar posture. The two creatures, despite their differences, mirrored each other in a curious dance of movement. The beach provided a serene backdrop, the gentle ebb and flow of the waves.
Loomi's demeanor, however, cast a shadow over the tranquility. Braze's observant gaze shifted to her, detecting a heaviness that seemed to settle around her like a shroud. He hesitated for a moment before offering a tentative smile, attempting to bridge the gap that had formed between them.
"I'm not so sure crabs have friends," he mused softly, his words carrying a touch of uncertainty.
"They are scavengers and cannibals... I think they will eat one another if there is an opportunity to do so." Braze's gaze lingered on the crabs, his tone contemplative.
"They don't really have the same compunctions as you and I, I think."
As the words hung in the air, Braze's attention returned to Loomi. He sensed the weight of her emotions, a palpable sadness that seemed to envelop her. The beach, with its expanse of sand and the rhythmic cadence of the ocean, felt like a canvas upon which they could paint their thoughts and emotions.
Braze's somber jade eyes held a mixture of concern and empathy as he regarded Loomi. The crabs, seemingly oblivious to the human complexities playing out before them, continued their own dance of existence waving defensive claws in the air.
