Commenor
The Colonies

The Galactic Alliance gaze shifts southwards, territory belonging to the Silver Jedi Concord in dire need of protection. Protection that only the Alliance could afford to bring to the system of Commenor, a proud planet, a rich history of both Silver and Jedi Order triumphs and setbacks. Old Sith wounds and as new hope Springs eternal for a better future. The people of Commenor will see the Galactic Alliance greet them with wide open arms, both security and assurances of peace.

A prosperous future awaits for all those who join the Alliance. . . The rest of the Colonies and Inner Rim systems await.

Objective One: A Festival of Stars

Even as the Concord disappears, the Festival of Stars remains as the Government of Commenor attempts to bring tidings of joy and happiness to their people. It also serves a duo purpose of showcasing to the Galactic Alliance representatives of their stability as a planet to immediately join the Federal Assembly and take part in the Alliance Markets and Trade Routes.

Enjoy the festivities and ingratiate yourself with the people of Commenor; Senators to welcome the Commenor Government to the many perks of joining the Alliance.

Objective Two: Securing the Future

Commenor has seen plenty of Sith attacks and the old wounds remain in need of healing. Perhaps treatment from the Jedi Order? The Galactic Alliance Defense Fleet will have to establish new Patrols for the plethora of new sectors that was once protected by the Silver Jedi Concord. The Southern region of the galaxy demands a greater growth of the GADF, after all the collapse of the Concord brought along many dangers. Both old and new.

Piracy and the malignant presence of possible Sith or an older enemy of the Concord the Bryn'adûl. It is up to both the GADF and the Jedi Order to prepare the path forward for the former Concord planets to join the Alliance. Commenor is the perfect staging point.

Objective Three: Debating Religiously

Motivated by the concern of perception and the preservation of religions, The Senator of Skako proposes a bill that allows planetary governments the right to deny the New Jedi Order from entering their planet in order to safeguard the native religions on the world from outside interference.

Senators are encouraged to participate and best represent the opinions of their planet, their people, their culture, and uniquely, bring religion to politics, as they deliberate their vote on The Native Religion Protection Act (TNRP).

CAEDYN ARENAIS

LOCATION: Commenor, Illaria Woodlands.
OBJECTIVE BYO: Visit the Force Praxeum of the Commenori Order.
INVENTORY: Staff of Preservation, Garments of Rebirth.
TRANSPORT: The Repertoire.

Commenor. If ever there was a planet that held sentimental meaning to Caedyn Arenais, it was this one. While Mnemosyne was the home of the Jedi Knight of today, Commenor had been his birthright. His Mother and Father had been the ruling Monarchs of Commenor during which they founded the Commenor Systems Alliance, a major power in Cae's childhood years.

It was during those years that Veiere Arenais also founded the Praxeum of the Order of Commenor, a group of neutral Force Users who were to serve as Commenor's elite guardians. When the Commenor Systems Alliance disbanded, however, the Praxeum was left to its own terms. Those who stayed were typically residents, Commenori who lived nearby. Caedyn hadn't visited nor heard the word of them in over ten years, and so when the Galactic Alliance reached out and invited Commenor to become a World of the Senate, the Jedi Knight felt obliged to return and see what had become of his father's legacy.

As the Repertoire began to descend down through the clouds of Commenor heading towards the Illaria Woodlands, Caedyn took in a drawn-out breath, his eyes gazing over the landscape from the cockpit of his ship while his droid piloted the Corvette towards their landing coordinates. His old home world held so many memories of him and Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun growing up. As Twins, they had been inseparable before Caedyn left to join the Je'daii under Asha Sar'andor's guidance. Thinking back on their parents living together in the Arenais Estate, a family. The complete picture. They had lived a good life here until Caedyn was thirteen years old. After he left, and then Lori went to the Mandalorian Enclave, politics and the Jedi Order became the priority for his parents, and it all went downhill.

"I believe we are coming into range, Master Caedyn" Lexas announced, pulling the Jedi Knight from his thoughts.

"Very good, thank you Lex" Caedyn replied, "Begin landing preparations please, I will collect my things" he informed the droid before rising from the pilot seat to the right of the cockpit, turning away from the beautiful landscape and heading further into the ship towards his private quarters. He couldn't help but wonder to himself what Thurion Heavenshield Thurion Heavenshield would make of this, the timing of it all. Visiting the old Force Praxeum so soon after their discussions together. Being a man of faith, he didn't put much stock in mere coincidences.

Taking his navy blue robe from the bed, Caedyn wrapped the baggy cloak around his shoulders and turned back, reaching for his Staff which was lent against the wall to the left of the entrance. The Bo Staff was quite similar to the much simpler weapon that Caedyn had crafted at the Temple of Vur Tepe. He had carried it many times with him on hikes across the Illaria Woodlands, a forest wilderness that claimed the nearby mountains looking over Chasin City, the capital of Commenor.

"Let's see what's left then, shall we" he muttered to himself and began to make his way for the cargo bay where the entrance to the ship would open once they had touched down with the surface.

Objective Two: Securing the Future

GADF Q-boat Hook

Makko was genuinely nervous. Despite his training, he had rarely gone into a situation with the Jedi that was planned for conflict. He had happened to cross paths with the Drengir, but that had been a relief mission.

He was accustomed to fighting and scrapping and the day-to-day violence of the Denon streets, but this was different.

Their vessel was a freighter with hidden armaments and a complement of Jedi and GADF soldiers on board. They were currently drifting and sending out a distress call in the hopes of attracting the pirates. There was rumour of a small complement of old Headhunter snubfighters and one mothership that served as their base that swallowed up freighters once they had been disabled.

Makko's left leg jiggled up and down nervously. There was something much worse about waiting for a fight, knowing that it was coming, than being surprised by violence.

"We've been on the opposite side of Alliance territory to clear up Maw remnants, but now it's time to turn to former Silver Jedi space," Valery said as she looked around the cockpit of the Bastion. With Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble piloting, they were on a hyperspace course to intercept a small convoy of Alliance supply ships. They had been sent to Commenor and worlds nearby to deliver vital medical and food supplies, but somewhere in the last few hours, they went radio silent.

As quickly as they could, Kahlil and Valery summoned a Padawan each, boarded the Bastion, and set a course to try and figure out what happened to them. They'd get their answer quickly, as even before they jumped back to real space, an emergency transmission could reach them.

<A.N.V... We need- ..... pirates! .... boarding- please..... reinforcements.>

Valery frowned as she listened to the message, and turned in her seat to look at Colette and Capris for a moment. They both were ready for missions like this, so she felt good to have them join. It would also be an opportunity for the two to get to know each other — similar to how Capris had been introduced to her other Padawan.

"Love, I think we're going to have to dock with the supply ship," she said with narrowed eyes to keep him from smirking over her briefing mode. "Clear out the pilots and force them to surrender."

I hope I don't get stabbed this time, was the lone thought in Seva's mind as she stepped lightly out of her transport.

Seva Geroux hadn't been spotted at any major social events since attending an auction with Desric Terassi Desric Terassi . A night of fun had been completely ruined by the Sith -- an attack, right here on Commenor! She still had a faint scar on her upper arm from the knife attack. Though, she'd learned an important lesson that night.

Armored garments were a must.

Today, she wore a long trench coat draped gently over her shoulders just for that purpose. Of course, she wasn't daft... she knew it wasn't going to protect her from something serious, but maybe she'd escape further harm. And maybe the Alliance coming to Commenor would help, too. Seva had lived through other galactic powers coming to claim her world, but there was hope that things would be different this time.

As a Commenori noble, it was probably her duty to help welcome the Alliance or something like that. Though, it wouldn't hurt to be seen... after all, her social life was in shambles.

With a sigh, she moved to join the crowd and put on her best smile.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Fun. Kind of. Not really."

Kahlil let out a sigh. He didn't like pirates. He was, unfortunately, rather used to dealing with them though. Some were better than others. Some. These didn't sound like that some. He glanced back towards the pair of Padawans they brought along. Frowned, for just a moment. Another battle for them to go through. Perhaps he was being over protective, but he couldn't shake the feeling in the back of his mind that he needed to protect the next generation of Jedi more then he already had been.

That, and there was still something he needed to talk to Capris about.

"You two ready? Make sure to stay close."

Commenor was the Quellor Run's starting point; an important hyperspace route rich with the benefits of commerce. Located in the Colonies, the planet and the route itself stood at the precipice of prosperity, a potential foundation for Galactic Alliance outreach. Though frequently traveled, pilots who lacked astrography skills — or those sailing under the influence — sometimes washed ashore on the lane's outskirts. The unfortunate travelers were easy pickings for pirates craving a share of the wealth.

Joland stood resolutely aboard the GADF freighter Hook. A distress signal eminated from the vessel, searching for a recipient. They were the bait, cast out adrift into the hyperlane around Commenor, patiently waiting for buccaneers to bite.

Among the soldiers was an ally, the leg jiggling Makko Vyres Makko Vyres . Body language was the first word between them. In contrast, Joland was fairly calm. He didn't have nerves of steel, but graduating from the CSF academy had it's perks; he trained for high pressure situations.

Maybe small talk could calm the nerves while they waited. "Hey," Joland calmly spoke, "you alright?"

"Honestly—what kind of heathens attack a supply ship? Shameful.”

Cora's voice was dripping with disgust as she and Knight Evesa hurried to the freighter's cargo hold. The pair had been assigned to protect a cache of medical supplies headed for Commenor. They were in the thick of former Silver space—now a power vacuum and an apparent playground for pirates in the wake of their collapse.

Despite her revulsion to the situation, the blonde Padawan didn't shy away from combat. Under Master Noble's instruction and the trials of war, she'd grown into someone a little more brave and assured.

None of that erased her posh nature.

"No manners, the lot of them." She sniffed, slapping the activation pad for the blast doors that sealed the corridor from the cargo bay.

As the doors hissed open, a hail of blaster fire forced them against the wall, and Cora's upper lip curled into a sneer.

Reaching onto her belt, she retrieved a metallic cylinder free and pulled the pin.

"Grenade!" She called, heaving it through the threshold and into the cargo bay. It was actually a flashbang, but the point was to get the goons to scatter and split their focus.

"Honestly—what kind of heathens attack a supply ship? Shameful.”

"Pirates, I think," Loomi answered.

She was standing further back, weaving a shield. Basic barrier weaving that had been taught to her by the guide written by Auteme Auteme , which she had gotten the hang of.

"There's also raiders, gangsters, smugglers..." she added. "I'm pretty sure that some warlord states probably attack supply ships too. So I'd say a lot of possible candidates, but these guys are definately pirates."

A wall of blaster fire came through, the now open door, and Cora threw something she called a grenade. Ultimately, however, it only filled the recently opened hangar with a flash of light.

"Golly," she murmured, "That's not a very good grenade."

Before long, her barrier was done, and she slipped towards the front of the group to begin shielding the party from incoming blaster bolts.

"Does anyone have a plan?"

"Can we deal with their lack of manners later?"

The yellow blade of his weapon deflected yet another blaster bolt. The noise was almost distinctive, the sound of a lightsaber was notable across the galaxy. Most people knew the noise the weapon made, or knew someone who did. The blaster bolt ricochetted around, bouncing off of the pannels of the freighter before finding it's end in the back of a pirate.

With his helmet back on the ship they'd arrived on, Caden's hair was free to flow around. He needed to get it trimmed, he found himself spending more time fighting with his hair to keep it out of his eyes than he was spending fighting with the pirates. As he was even having that thought he found his hand running through his hair, pushing it backwards.

Loomi, he'd seen fight before. He knew the young Jedi could handle herself, she'd saved his backside on Thyferra. The other two were people he didn't know. One was a Jedi Padawan, a young female who seemed to be holding her own and the other was a GADF soldier who Caden assumed could hold their own. Caden hoped they could hold their own anyway.

Corazona threw the "grenade" into the open cargo bay, and Caden laughed when it went off. He'd spent a lot of his time dealing with grenades when working with the Mandalorians, he was well aware what she'd thrown was a flashbang more than a grenade. Either way, it had clearly done the job and caused some of the pirates to scatter, giving the task force time to get in.

"I'm with Loomi, that was an awful grenade. No time to discuss grenades though, come on. Let's get moving. Loomi take left, Corazona take right. I'll go down the middle"

GADividerHotPink.png

"Okay. Alright. We got this. Yeah we got this."

Maran repeated the mantra to herself under her breath. She gripped at her lightsaber, closed her eyes. Breathed. She could handle this. She had to be able to handle this. All that training, all that time away from everyone else. She wasn't going to be the burden she had been, not anymore. The Padawan took a deep breath as her eyes opened and her grip slackened. Deep, calm breaths. Just like Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el taught her.

Then she glanced around finally. To the others with her. Smiled, just a little. Look friendly, look sociable. Don't be rude. More lessons she was now repeating in her head.

"Hey yeah ready for pirates?"

Just as Caden finished announcing his attack plan a voice through a helmet's filters spoke up with a chuckle. "We got ya covered Jedi."

Casting aside the gray cloak that concealed her features, Minerva Fhirdiad fully clad in Mandalorian armor drew her dual pistols. The Jedi trio were blocking and deflecting hostile fire; she barked a command to her platoon. "Talons forward!" Subsequently the Alliance troopers and her advanced behind the Jedi. With swift hand signals she directed her first squad to assist Cora and the second squad to Loomi.

As for herself she kept up behind Caden as they pressed further into the docking bay. Taking advantage of the pirates' attention on the force wielder Minerva then ascended up in the air. Taken off guard a Nikto pirate with a repeater and his Aqualish comrade were blasted in their chests with two bolts each. A Gamorran shrieked in defiance before lifting his scatter gun at the Mandalorian and fired.

Dodging to the left then right in the air Minerva fired again, missing the first shot but the second and third struck true. The green pig shrieked again, this pain collapsing sideways with two burning holes in his center mass. She descended next to Caden on the right flank ducking behind a crate before firing three more bolts that pinned down a brigand behind his cover.

Constancia

Objective: To discuss the religious protections act
Tags: OPEN

Background-Eraser-20220313-133301466.jpg
Xasha was suprised when she had seen that this legislation had made it to a Senate vote, even as a concordist, it went too far. She looked out amongst the other senators and knew there were others dumbfounded by this act and she was ready to speak.

"Honorable senators, I am pleased to be able to speak today on this matter. As many of you know, I am of the concordist bloc, so planetary self determinism and right to an individual culture is very close to my heart, and it has been argued to me that this legislation furthers that goal.

However,

It is my solemn view that this legislation is unwarranted, inherently flawed and also illegal under the existing laws thar prevent discrimination based on religious expression."
she took a sip of her water and adjusted her anti telepathy circlet on her head, sometimes the mental waves from so many people managed to squeeze their way in and trigger her migraines, but she wanted to be able to focus on the debate.

"I will clarify my objections,

Unwarranted... there is no precedent that I can find in our nation's history that shows the Jedi, as a group, causing damage or undermining a planet's existing religion. There are individual cases, but this leads on to.the second point of this argument that planets already have the right to declare a person non-grata should it be justified.

Inherently flawed... This legislation applies to a very distinct and powerful utility ultimately benevolent religious sect, way about other more malevolent sects? Shouldn't this legislation include them, it would make sense, no?

And illegal... To ban an entire based purely on their religion goes against many of principles of the Alliance and its laws regarding discrimination, should we pass this legislation, we will open ourselves up to serious criticism and also potentially lengthy legal challenges and appeals."

She took another sip on her drink before having her booth float to address the chancellor directly. She had other arguments she could use to confront the inevitable challenges from the proposing Senator, but she had made her case and would at least try to resolve this quickly without direct confrontation.

"Chancellor Auteme Auteme , it is for these reasons I move to have this legislation struck off of the ballot." she bowed politely and indicated that she had finished speaking by pulling her podium back towards its resting position. She looked at her aide and he smiled supportively at her.

Rens Ahim stood up in his senatorial pod. Personally he would rather be on Commenor, to meet with its leadership and get to know the people as new members of the Alliance. He also heard the festival there is quite interesting and would be nice to take his family to. Instead this bill forced him to stay on Coruscant and the very thought caused him to sigh.

This discussion will not be pleasant at all but it must be done.

He listened attentively to the Constancian senator who made her position quite clear on the matter. At the end of it Rens nodded in agreement, having reviewed its contents repeatedly. This proposed law in his opinion is dangerous as an unstable bomb. Turning on the pod speaker he declared.

"I agree on all points by Constanica's representative. This so-called Religious Protections act sets a terrible precedent. The Alliance's system of law is more than sufficient for religious freedoms and doesn't require this motion. Regardless of the intent behind the bill, it easily could become a massive loophole that hostile forces such as Sith infiltrators and criminal elements can weaponize against our Jedi allies and by extension the Alliance itself."

"I don't believe that it's necessary to point out my political affiliation to address out how braindead this bill is," Yumia spoke up, following behind the senators of Constancia and Bestine. "If Skako was worried about the preservation of the native religions on their planet, why only forbid entrance to the New Jedi Order? Immigrants, traveling merchants with strong religious values... What is stopping anyone from arriving on Skako and meddling in the affairs of local cultures."

Her tone was calm, like always, bit a fiery passion burned deep within her. Her people were religious, so this was a matter that was close to home for the Prov Godoan. Nothing disgusted Yumia more than the exploitation of local customs.

"I must ask plainly, what does the representative of Skako fear that the New Jedi Order may find?" she asked. "To go to such lengths to forbid only one of hundreds of groups from entry, I can only assume that something else is at play. I will jump to no conclusions, but the idea has certainly run through my mind that this is a means of hiding something more nefarious. Lest I remind the council of the recent skirmishes that have muddied the Federation's legitimacy."

There was really only one course of action.

"I believe that further investigation into the matter is required," Yumia concluded. "I have it on good authority that our Strategic Intelligence Agency plans to look into it. Perhaps it would be wise to wait and see if the Skakoan government has any skeletons in their closet. As it stands currently, I have no confidence that the Senator of Skako has presented this bill in good faith, certainly not for religious groups across the Alliance."

Objective One: A Festival of Stars
'The measure of intelligence is the ability to change' -Albert Einstein
Parties… Caltin hated parties. This was just another one, but Chrysa was here and she loved them so he would enjoy himself, or at least try to. There was a purpose to this too, not just “The Festival of the Stars” but with the Silvers slowly beginning to disband, there will be a need to maintain some level of stability in the region. Sure, the military types, like Aien Mueller and Liram Angellus Liram Angellus would step up but there needed to be some level more.

Maybe this would be fruitful after all.

Several members of the local governments recognized him. They slowly approached, smiles on their faces and handshakes offered

“Master Vanagor, welcome! You were not expected here.” One of the magistrates, we’ll call her “Tono” commented.

“All work and no play”, right? He said with a smile, shaking their hands. Their conversation was somewhat short, asking much about his recent exploits and about the Galactic Alliance. There was a considerable amount of reticence among many attendees. Some felt like they were being traded from one group of Jedi to another, and that was not a good feeling to some of them. There was also the feeling among many that they would lose the “small town” feel of much of the Silver Jedi Concord Government for a much larger, less personal, more bureaucratic feeling of the Alliance.

The big guy was where he needed to be after all.

STATUS REPORT!

“Empryrean group is engaging a shadow force over Kashyykk.”

“Seraphic group is engaging a pirate hit and run outside Mnemosyne!”

Crazy, huh? All during “The Festival of the Stars”

As Admiral of the 9th fleet, it is my duty to ensure the safety and security of our planet and its neighboring systems. When news arrived of pirate attacks over Kashyyk, near Commoner, and outside Mnesnosyne, it was clear that immediate action was needed. The coordinated nature of these attacks and the use of superior equipment by the pirates suggested that we were facing a highly organized and dangerous group.

I swiftly summoned my top officers for a briefing on the situation. We assessed all available intelligence and discussed the optimal course of action. It quickly became apparent that a full-scale naval operation was necessary to quell the pirate threat. I gave orders for the 9th fleet to launch a counter-attack and engage the enemy at all three locations.

As the mission commenced, I closely monitored the situation and provided real-time updates to my officers. The deployment was challenging, but the bravery and skillfulness of our fleet ensured that we could meet the pirate assaults head-on. Our ships were equipped with the latest technology and weaponry, and our soldiers were highly trained to handle all situations. I was immensely proud of their performance.

During the operation, we encountered resistance from the pirates, who fought hard to protect their territory. Nonetheless, our fleet proved dominant, and we managed to overcome the pirates' defenses. Our soldiers captured some of the pirates and confiscated their equipment. Upon examination, it became clear that the pirates had been using technology and weapons beyond anything that we'd seen in this sector. It was evident that the pirates were part of a more extensive criminal network that our intelligence was still investigating.

Our small skirmishes were successful… but one thing was clear. We were not done here.

"Senator Valette, I must ask you not resort to insults, despite how you may disagree. Your proposals bring about an interesting point... But I must rebuttal that if it was some retribution the representative for Skako's feared, why would he stop at the Jedi? The may be peacekeepers... But they are not our peacekeepers. You said it yourself, the SIA are aware of Trade Federation activities. Allow our republic to grant justice, rather than priests and monks."

The vice chancellor paused a moment, considering the play. Vahl had little love for Laborr, and the Trade Federation had paid for Tithe's victory in a bid for Chandra's right hand and Anna's subsequent defeat. Nevertheless, while the Jedi on Jakku had proved themselves a worthy weapon against the Maw, she did not relish treading lightly in her own house.

"There is merit to a populist in the measure. You say discrimination, Senator Callisto... But what say you for the practices of recruitment of the Jedi orders? Should the youngsters on my planet be expected to know how to handle the manipulation when they are discovered force sensitive? I say discrimination is a lesser evil than predatory practices or kidnapping."

Objective II: Securing the Future

The presence of a pirate hideaway had been discovered, though the elusive nature of the group kept it from being directly handled, as their operations had been responsible for many deaths and thefts in the sector. It had been through some cooperation of Jedi and SIA that a pirate transport, a rundown older model used mainly for hauling supplies, had been captured and the crew questioned; and from that questioning, an opportunity to use the shuttle as a means of infiltrating, and rooting out, the pirate group.

Reports, and actions, indicated the pirates were ruthless and would respond with violence. That was fine, Jand had no concern about that. Though, there had been a request to seek an opportunity to arrest the pirate Captain, known as Too'ree Tetch, a Devaronian. Apparently, her capture had the potential to lead SIA and further operations in the right direction to uncover more pirate activity in nearby sectors, so the benefit for success was high - though would undoubtedly be a challenge and no small feat.

That was why a Jedi team had been allocated the task.

"The acquisition of this shuttle delayed it," Jand said, now a Jedi Knight, as he stepped into the cockpit area and looked at the Jedi that piloted. "Though, according to the crew, we remain within acceptable scheduling. Are there any problems so far?"

Ahead, there was a large asteroid field, where the pirate base was - supposedly - located.

"SIA seemed confident in the codes provided, and we should expect an escort to the base, once we pass whatever checks the pirates have in place... but, either way, let us be prepared for things to go side ways."

Personally, Jand was not a very good pilot, he relied on his droid to handle a lot of the support skill for that. So, when it came to the shuttle, someone else had been required, as Dee-Too had been unable to join the mission; the Jedi team needed to be quick, and unfortunately the droid would slow them down, especially considering it was a combat-focused group.

Jand turned to look into the interior of the transport, where others were.

"We should be arriving shortly. Are there any questions or concerns, before we cross the point of no return?"

Once the Jedi team crossed the sensor scan threshold, that was it, they were committed. If they pulled out afterward, chances were high that the pirates would evaporate into the proverbial wind, and the effort from SIA and the Jedi Order would be wasted, until they resurfaced...

Yet, Jand had confidence in the group.
