Common Cloud On A Clear Day

"So you have Olivia's key..." Well that was useful to know. If ever she needed it, she knew where to get it from.

A brow was raised as [member="Draxan Vazda"] left a sentence unfinished. Not after what? Her face asked the question, even though she didn't vocalize it. Perhaps she wouldn't like the answer. Regardless, there was a job to do.

She clenched her jaw at the thought of trying to encourage her people to bow down and not fight. Of course there were some that joined the Imperials in their ranks. But there were others that hated what had happened just as much as she did.

Kay walked to the cells, stepping ahead of Draxan. Sighs of relief were heard from within when they saw her. Everyone was in individual cells, including her head of security, Einon. She approached his cell, but spoke to everyone. "You're all to be released back to your families.
Keep them safe as the Elders are safe. If we...accept the Sith Imperial control, they'll ease up on us. So just try to live out normal lives. Unfortunately, you'll not be allowed to re-enter my service. But I am certain that you'll be able to find work."
She looked to Draxan and gestured for him to unlock the cells. "You can let them out now. And I'd like to be with their escort of the grounds, only to be sure that they get out safely."

He watched as she walked passed him and into the catacombs the sighs of relief from the inmates almost like if their god had come to release them from their hell finally. He listened as she spoke to them nodding in agreement. She then asked him to open the doors and he walked past her holding the skeleton key in one hand and held out his other hand as his lightsaber flew into it igniting. The curved hilt now had an unstable black blade with a slight red glow to it. He turned so everyone could hear him,"This is the part where I let you know that if you try anything stupid or out of line the moment you do I will cut you into smithereens and I'll personally ship you to your families and let them know why your dead. Now one by one I'll let you out and [member="Lady Kay"] with the guards that are stationed outside will escort you nicely to the main grounds and that's as far as the Queen goes." he said turning to her with a look of warning, the glow from his blade giving him a monstrous glow.

He then turned and in five minutes had everyone out of their cells and in a line. He had called in the guards and making sure there was one on each side of the prisoners. He led the rear his lightsaber in hand but he'd turned it off. He didn't like the idea of freeing everyone of the prisoners but if that was the price to have the Queens trust even if it was just a centimeter of it, it was worth it. They reached the main entrance and he stopped there allowing them to be escorted out by themselves. He would wait for the guard and the Queen to return to him.

Kay gave a look of slight disappointment as [member="Draxan Vazda"] chose to bring his lightsaber out. As far as she could tell, there was no reason to do that. But he knew how her enemies thought more than she did. Yet still....

She led them all out, walking in front while everyone else had guards flanking them on either side. Everyone was silent, including Kay. She took them up the flights of stairs and through the hallway towards the main entrance. Only the many footfalls could be heard and around every corner, she half expected to be stopped.

But she wasn't.

Kay took them outside and along the walkway towards the front gate. Once there she stopped and held out her hand, looking each one in the eyes as she shook their hands. Most especially to [member="Einon"] . "Good journeys everyone. And thank you again for your service. Don't blame yourselves for our loss. We've survived and that's what counts. My children are out in the Galaxy somewhere, along with my estranged husband. I don't expect to see them again. I wouldn't want that to happen to any of you.
So please...hug your loved ones and hold them close."

Einon knew what he needed to do. She was sure of it. The man said nothing and just gave a small nod as he shook her hand. However he squeezed her hand three times. Kay gave him a small nod, her eyes not leaving his as she relayed another message. "Right, then. Off you go." It was short and to most it would probably mean nothing. But the two of them knew. And that was the important part.

After her former staff left the grounds, Kay turned and headed back to the Palace, with her hands clasped before her. She looked up to Draxan as she approached him. "Thank you. This means a lot to them, and to me. It's a terrible thing to be away from family. Do you...have any family?" Some didn't, some did and didn't care. She wasn't sure of which category Draxan fell into.
