Strengths:
Forward Firepower: The Contrivance’s intense forward firepower is to die for! (literally)
Shut ‘Em Up!: With a tactical sensor jamming device, the Contrivance is able to disrupt enemy targeting and communications.
Gotta Go Fast: The lighting quick hyperdrive installed on this large vessel allows it to travel swiftly out of its home system.
Weaknesses:
One Way Only: Although its forward firepower kills, it is limited to that arc only: Meaning the whole ship must turn to face enemies elsewhere.
Keep Turning: With no weapons along the sides, top, rear, or bottom of the vessel the Contrivance has many glaring blind spots.
Turned to Eleven: The incredible draw of the torpedo projectors coupled with the internal systems means the reactor is one hot potato, and any damage to it will be catastrophic.
Description: The pride of Kuat’s defense fleet, the Contrivance is officially designated as a “tactical cruiser,” and its true weapon is the sensor jamming device which can cripple much larger forces in defense of Kuat’s modest fleet. However, it is also a capital killer in its own right. With an assortment of dangerous, forward facing weapons, the Contrivance can outclass star destroyers in measure of raw offensive capabilities. Of course the decision to have fixed weapons only, and place them on the front of the vessel, does leave a few glaring blind spots along… Well, everywhere else. Still—Kuat isn’t concerned, and why should they be? With Kuat to her back and deep space ahead, this glorified sniper can pummel oncoming attackers with swift devastation; although its projectors are slow-firing weapons.
Without a fleet to support her, the Contrivance is limited to scarring more manageable foe such as pirates and rogue Sith Lords. It doubles as an armed transport for Kuat’s leadership into dangerous or high-profile locations that require a show of strength, and has a hanger to support small attack craft and shuttles. All this potential and might in one hull does have severe—albeit well hidden—consequences. The most crippling of which is the dire state of the ship’s reactor, which requires a triple-sized engineering crew just to handle. Despite being shackled deep within the hull near its engines, a powerful strike near that area could very well destabilize the reactor and the emergency backups are incapable of powering its weapons or jamming device, and can only power the backup hyperdrive as well.
Yet the Kuati leadership has kept this a state secret, and only the engineering team are under strict gag orders. In the face of an enemy, the proud crew and her commander have little else to worry about and have all certainty that Kuat is in safe hands.
