Control Is Internal [Aika Kawakami]

[SIZE=10pt]Although the Silver Jedi Temple was not yet completed, Asaak still found herself within it often. There was something calming about it, and something exciting. She and her fellow Silver Jedi were on the brink of a movement she was certain would change the galaxy, would sway it to a brilliant burst of light. To sit in the center of the Temple where it would all begin, cross-legged with her hands resting on her knees and looking up through the broken ceiling to the leaves on the trees above…it was peace made tangible.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]She had requested a session with [member="Aika Kawakami"] a few days earlier and waited for the woman there in the Temple. She was excited to officially meet the Knight who’d been placed as Counsellor of the group Asaak had fallen in with. Being a Consular was in Asaak’s blood. She had a natural affinity for negotiation, for trying to make all parties in a dispute happy. She was decent with a lightsaber – good enough to defend herself against most foes and getting proficient in Ataru – but she was no swordsman. What she excelled at, what came easier to her with each passing day and under the guiding hand of Rasu Gan, was her connection to the Force. She flowed within it like water, wrapping it around herself and imagining it doing different things, allowing her to visualize it as something she could hold. It was an old friend, one she was learning to speak with. However despite a natural affinity she soaked up all the direction she could. Her master held Knight Kawakami in high esteem and had spoken of her abilities with the Force. Asaak had asked to meet with the woman, thinking it only made sense when she hoped to follow a similar path, and was delighted when Aika had agreed.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]Asaak closed her eyes, slowing her breathing and allowing herself to connect with the powerful current of the Force she felt on the planet. She wanted to be calm and centered with Aika arrived. She had a few things she was interested in learning more about, but she was also eager for anything Aika might have in mind to share with her.[/SIZE]

Aika Kawakami

Can one find true light when shadowed in darkness?
For someone who had spent her entire life on only two different worlds, Aika was getting used to Voss quite quickly. Then again, she seemed to be at peace now. Or at least more at peace than what she had been dealing with previously. Maybe because she was no longer under the thumb of a group who seemed to purposely overlook her. All while keeping her close enough to keep several watchful eyes over her. Then again, maybe it was all because she was now constantly surrounded by those who she held closest, minus her master, unfortunately. Regardless of the reason, she was happy. Or happy enough.

Nonetheless, her presence had been requested by [member="Asaak Tey"], a padawan of Rasu, whom she had only just met. However, she was all too happy to share the knowledge she had gained. And now, she was free to do it in whatever way she was fit. In the past, there had been constant pressure to put an increased emphasis on combat abilities. Now, that was no longer the case. And she couldn't be happier.

Aika moved through the Temple-in-progress, hands clasped behind her back as her head panned about, taking in the scenes about her. It took very little time before she caught sight of the padawan, a grin crawling over her face. Her steps continued, sauntering toward the center of the circular room. "Quite the relaxing feel, isn't it? Surrounded by nature, at peace without the constant worry of someone aiming to keep you under their thumb. Free to actually use your own mind to think, rather simply following orders. Well, at least it feels that way for me."

[SIZE=10pt]She opened her eyes when she heard the woman’s voice, a smile curling on her to lips. Although she did not feel the restriction in the same way the Knight did as she was not yet skilled enough to have students of her own, she had felt the control of the Republic in other ways. The idea of a Consular was not foreign in that organization but she had never felt she had a place, not like she already felt among this new order. She nodded, agreeing whole-heartedly as she quickly got to her feet in deference to Aika. “It’s wonderful – I think its part of the reason we’re doing so well, so fast. We’re not afraid to share our ideas, speak our minds because here what we say will be heard."[/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]She stole one last glance at the leaves swaying in the breeze above them before centering her attention on [member="Aika Kawakami"]. “Thank you for meeting with me. Master Gan spoke highly of your abilities with the Force.” She paused, looking almost shy, like a child confronted by something they thought impossible but suddenly made real. “Is it true you don’t carry a lightsaber? That you rely entirely on Force powers?” She liked the solid saber at her side, but Aika’s way was what the young Togruta was striving for. [/SIZE]

She supposed it was only natural for many a youngling to gravitate to the awesome grace and skill it took to wield a lightsaber. Asaak would admit that watching her friend Moroi work, especially with dual blades, was a thing of wonder. But there was something about the Force, about feeling it embrace her and gift her with its use, that she would never tire of.

Aika Kawakami

Can one find true light when shadowed in darkness?
A slight laughter escaped her lips as the Togruta nearly jumped to her feet, a smile upon her face. Aika's head rolled back sightly, gazing up towards the swaying foliage high above their heads. "Indeed. It is why we will succeed where they failed. We are more than warmongers. To simply put it, we are what Jedi were always supposed to be; peacekeepers. And we are that, before anything else." It warmed her heart to verbally hear that she was not alone in feeling the squeeze of the Republic. Still, it was doubtful the two truly understood things in the same manner, but time would reveal that itself.

Her gaze returned to the padawan as she spoke of he master. It caused Aika to laugh a bit more, shaking her head slightly. "Ah, Rasu and her relentless raving of me. Though, in honesty, I can't say that I don't do the same when it comes to her. After all, we could be sisters. Except for the fact that, you know, we're different species. And as far as a lightsaber goes... "Her hands unclasped, arms falling to her sides as she slowly spun about, allowing the girl to see with her own eyes that there was no such weapon on her person. "It was a choice I made from the very beginning. I didn't choose this life to strike evil from the galaxy. I did it to help bring peace to it, to cease the senseless bloodshed and endless war. A lightsaber wouldn't assist me in doing either. So, why would I carry it? That said..." Her spin finally stopping as she once more faced the padawan, her eyes dropped to the saber at her hip, focusing lightly on it. With essentially no effort, the weapon levitated from her belt, hovering into the air and stopping at eye level. The saber floated towards Aika, stopping just a few inches from her face. With a simple thought, it ignited, a line of light pointing up towards the ceiling. "I have my heart, my mind, my master's teachings, and the Force. In a struggle with evil, what other weapon would I possibly need?"

[member="Asaak Tey"]

No one could claim the Togruta wasn’t enthusiastic. She’d spent the better part of her life thinking something was fundamentally wrong with her, and when she’d been told by the pair of Jedi Knights who’d discovered her that she was not – in fact – dysfunctional, she had dedicated her entire life to understanding what she’d been gifted with and using it for the betterment of the Galaxy.

It was easy to be bad. It took strength to sacrifice parts of oneself for the greater good.

She liked how easy Aika carried herself – her words seemed to come naturally and it put the Padawan in a similar state of relaxation. She found herself laughing when [member="Aika Kawakami"] teased of Rasu’s “relentless raving”.

However she fell back to studious concentration when the light weight of her saber was suddenly gone, the hilt floating in the air towards the Master. There was an instinctual emptiness that came when it was gone, a slight automatic alarm system that her blade was missing. She quieted it – if she were to follow the path she hoped for, her lightsaber would be a last ditch effort. She never wanted to use it if she didn’t absolutely have to and she didn’t want the hindrance of relying on it. She nodded at the Knight’s words, realizing that while her skill level did not come close to matching Aika’s…she still had all the same components at her disposal: her heart, her mind, her Master, and the Force.

“That is why I requested to speak with you – I am learning Makashi as a defensive strategy but…it’s not where I feel comfortable. When I use the Force I feel like I’ve come home. I envision what I want to accomplish and it flows from me,” she mused, trying to keep herself short. She had a tendency to wax poetic about the Force as she was naturally a daydreamer and she needed to keep herself in check! “I want to be able to use the Force to defend myself and others and I was hoping as a Knight who knows it so well you might help me decide what I should focus on in order to best accomplish those goals.”

Oh, Asaak had ideas. She had quickly grown proficient in the basics of the Force that all Padawans were first taught – force push and force pull, telekinesis, and even a bit of force concealment. She knew for certain that she wanted to master a broad swath of Tutaminis and deflection in the Force, especially since she would need a way to deflect attacks if she were to disregard her lightsaber. And maybe even graduate to a Force Wave, or a way to shield her companions if that were possible.

If Aika knew what she wanted to share, Asaak would soak up any knowledge she could but oh yes…she had ideas.

Aika Kawakami

Can one find true light when shadowed in darkness?
"Easy, apprentice. Remain relaxed and at ease in mind. Otherwise, you will over think things. Everything should feel natural as breathing." A small chuckle escaped her lips as the beam of light retracted itself to within the hilt. The girl, who was as relaxed as could be, seemed to tense up the moment the lightsaber was stripped from her hip. It was obvious that, as most other Jedi before her, there was a sever attachment to the weapon. While that was good, as it meant stripping her of it would be nearly impossible, it was a problem. Such an attachment meant she had already become heavily reliant on the blade.

The hilt levitated back towards the girl, turning so it lay horizontally just before her at eyes level. "You feel at home because you are. You wield quite the connection to the force, one almost as strong as my own. Those like us are lucky, gifted with a natural ability that allows us to do things others may only dream of. However, we also have to work three, some times four times a hard to cultivate and grow our abilities. Whereas a Guardian may show large advancements in a few weeks, it can be years before we being to see the fruits of our labor. But, if your willing to spend the time, the results can be more amazing than you ever imagined." Aika only spoke words that she had learned herself, thanks to her own master. In the beginning, she thought herself a slow learner, and even questioned whether she was truly cut out to be a Jedi. But the ONderon-born Jedi was patient, even through her worries. The end result was a knight who had surpassed several masters in her abilities through the force. Confident in her own self finally, she was more than happy to pass on what she had learned, regardless of who believed she was qualified to do so.

[member="Asaak Tey"]

She nodded the moment [member="Aika Kawakami"] told her to relax, allowing a deep breath in and a deep breath out. My heart, my mind, my Master, the Force. She had everything she needed. The lightsaber was superfluous. She watched it floating in the air and felt calmer, more centered.

When the hilt was returned to her, hovering in front of her eyes, she didn’t take it back immediately. She imagined the Force projecting from her like fingers, invisible tendrils wrapping around the hilt. The act of moving it wasn’t quite so easy as it seemed to be for the Knight standing across from her, but she wanted to prove that not only was she prepared to set the blade aside but that she was taking Aika’s teachings seriously. With a soft, slow movement she floated the hilt to a small alcove in the stone of the Temple. She could see it and it was safe and secure, but she was determined to let the instinctual attachment to it go.

She offered the woman another nod as she continued, a warm smile gracing her lips. Asaak appreciated the honesty – it was good to know that the slow growth she sometimes felt was to be expected with the path she was walking. But she could be patient for the Force. Nothing made her feel better and she would work the rest of her life. She’d long ago realized the Force was not something someone ever fully understood anyway – she would always be learning, improving, and she liked the idea of that.

“What do you suggest focusing on? There are so many things possible that it’s overwhelming where to start,” she said, thinking of all the things she could work on. There was time to learn more exotic powers later, but what she needed at first was to master the things which would be most practical and useful.

“Before I left the Republic, I was on a mission with a fellow Padawan. We were attacked by automated blasters in a cave system. He was able to deflect the bolts with his lightsaber while I found a way to escape, but ever since then I have wondered how I would have protected myself had I been alone or escape hadn’t been so immediate. Is there a way to deflect with the Force?” She had thought about it often, and also wondered if there would have been a way to protect her fellow Padawan, a way to throw the Force over him like a shield. But she didn’t want to start blurting out all her questions at once!

Her eyes trailed the weapon as it moved, shakily, from the girl's face. The grin across her face only expanding, Aika couldn't help but laugh quietly at the sight. Such dedication to a craft that one hadn't soaked into before was unusual, but it reminded her of herself. "Impressive. Definitely needs some work, but definitely impressive. You are indeed naturally talented. It's good that you are here. Your abilities would have been put to waste if you had remained part of the Republic." Her gaze drifted back to the girl, noticing the beaming smile. She simply exuded enthusiasm in a way that she'd never seen. Which only meant that she be even more opening to receiving her teachigns.

"Not so fast, my overly excited friend. Remember, patience. There is a process to everything, especially when beginning a journey down a new road. That said.." Aika steadily dropped to one knee before bringing to other to the ground as well, then sitting back on her heels." There are multiple techniques one can use to defend themselves without a weapon at their disposal. The most useful is a technique that seemingly adsorbs the energy being directed at you. An impressive trick, but one I myself have yet to learn. Your master, however, is quite skilled in such an art. Perhaps, some time down the road, she could teach it to us both. In the meantime, there is another way to repel an attack, albeit much more subtle than the one I previously mentioned. But before that, take a seat. There is something I must see for myself. I'd prefer you a position that you found comfortable."

[member="Asaak Tey"]

She has been a Padawan for months, had been on countless missions both training and real, with Masters and Knights and fellow Padawans alike. As the Guardians around her grew in leaps and bounds, even her best friend Moroi leaping over her head with feats of physical skill she could only dream of, she made slow progress. Patience had been hard to come by as her worries of being unworthy of the Force were compounded each day by the evidence before her very eyes, but Aika put her at ease.

The grin on her face turned sheepish when [member="Aika Kawakami"] had to once again admonish her to be patient. “Sorry – I can’t help myself sometimes. Master Gan is often telling me to calm myself as well,” she admitted, still smiling. In some ways she was so willing to wait – she knew the Force would take time. But when the opportunity to learn was right in front of her, it was hard to slow down!

However, her saving grace was that whenever she needed it, whenever the situation called for calm and concentration, she could quiet her mind and connect to the Force.

She sat when Aika beckoned her, sitting with her legs crossed under her, resting her wrists on her knees and curling her fingers lightly towards her palms with her index finger and thumb pressed together. She closed her eyes and listened to the leaves above them rustling, sank in to the earthy scent they filled the slowly renewing Temple with. When she opened her eyes again she was visibly centered, calm and prepared for whatever it was Aika wanted to see, the Force wrapped invisibly around her like an old friend.

Her head shook lightly, grin never faltering. "No need for apologies. It's quite alright to be excited. Actually, I'm glad that you are. Just remember, never let that excitement turn to impatience. When that happens, that is when some gain the urge to learn more by any means. All you have to do is control yourself." Ah, to be so easily excited was such a sight. If nothing else, it made the girl one of a kind.

Her eyes followed the girl as she took her seat, almost immoderately dropping into a meditative state. Aika, herself, closed her eyes, putting her focus on the padawan before her. With no real effort, she was able to connect to the girl through the force. And she could connect with her, she could speak with her mentally. There it is, the thing that makes you unique. There is a natural calm about you. It is the reason you so quickly can go from excitable to unbelievably calm. Something I haven't seen before... Nevertheless, we can easily proceed now. I can sense your connection to your surroundings, but that alone is not enough. You lack the true skill. For a moment, I want you to focus on us. This room, for this moment, is the only thing that exist. Now, silence your thoughts. Reach out, and find the only other presence in this room. Feel my own heart beating within my chest, the very life that flows through me. Do not listen for it. Feel it, understand Your mind is your strength. Use it..

[member="Asaak Tey"]

“For the moment, I want you to focus on us. This room, for this moment, is the only thing that exists.”

The image of the room they were sitting in had been clear in her mind even with her eyes closed, their meditative state allowing her to see things as they were though she wasn’t present in her mind. She focused only on that room, imagining the space floating in the middle of nowhere. The broken ceiling above them reached in to nothing but emptiness instead of the bright sun and yellow leaves that had been there moments before. Nothing else existed but the room.

“Reach out and find the only other presence in this room. Feel my own heart beating within my chest, the very life that flows through me.”

She quieted her mind, letting her awareness flow out of her.

“Do not listen for it. Feel it.”

When [member="Aika Kawakami"] spoke those words Asaak almost gasped. As if a lightbulb had turned on she suddenly felt Aika’s presence in the Force as clear as day. She was tangible, a strong beam of consciousness that gleamed in Asaak’s vision. It was a heady sensation and Asaak marveled at the feeling. She was almost certain this was what the Knight wanted her to be feeling – it wasn’t the mechanics of her beating heart, of the neurons firing in her brain, or the synapses clicking in her muscles that made her present. The Togruta could feel her as a being, as a whole spiritual presence, sensing her location.

It was life.

“I found you,” she said simply, that smile returning, a hint of wonder in her voice.

Aika Kawakami

Can one find true light when shadowed in darkness?
It took little time for the girl to grow aware of Aika's presence. At no point did she seem to even wonder if she could do as asked, that was the major difference that she could immediately notice. When she was first learning her craft, Aika was as self conscious as one could possibly. Constantly questioning herself and her place among the other of her class, it made it difficult to advance forward, considering she was questioning herself every step of the way. However, her friend's Togruta apprentice showed no signs of such things, immediately jumping into the task placed before her. She simply couldn't help but smile.

Good. Now, extend your field. Rather than this simple room, allow your mind to encompass the entire inner portion of the Temple. Just as you found me, seek out your fellow Jedi, feel for the presence of their lives. Rasu, Shochi, Iella. Find them, and tell me, to the best of your abilities, what they are currently doing. But as you do this, do not lose the connection you have felt here, with me. Aika's eyes opened, her gaze once more on the padawan before her. Without making a sound, she rose to her feet, then beginning a slow, silent pace to the girl's left side. As she reached her side, the knight took flight, slowly levitating into the air. Once her body had reached a height of five feet above the ground, her legs curled upward, crossing one of the other as she looked down over the young girl. This was meant to put a strain on her abilities. No one ever simply stood still and let themselves be detected. Aika wanted to know how far along the road Asaak had come, as far as her instincts as a consular.

[member="Asaak Tey"]

The Force, for Asaak, had always been there. When she had nothing else – no promise of a meal, no bed, no friends to speak to – the Force had been there. It had carried her through every trial she had faced before the Jedi had discovered her. So when Aika asked something of her she had no reason to believe that she could not do as instructed. There was a bone-deep belief in her gift that made her feel natural.

The same could not be said for her lightsaber. She was graceful, quick on her feet due to her heritage. Though she could defend herself with it and Moroi had taught her enough hand to hand to keep herself safe, she would never be a Guardian. And she was okay with that. She felt just as strong with the Force by her side as her Guardian friends did with their sabers.

Even so, when Aika asked her to extend her awareness she had to concentrate. It was not that she didn’t believe she could do it – it was that she had never tried.

She pushed out all at once on her first try but was overwhelmed by the strength which it took. She lost her connection entirely, her efforts sizzling out with a quick fizzle. She’d known that feeling before…she was asking for too much too fast. Aika’s words paced across her mind. Remember, patience. She dove again, focusing on Aika first. She’d found her once before so it was quick, allowing herself to get used to the feeling of the Knight moving around her and floating off the ground. Once she stopped thinking so hard it became simple to follow her, tracing after her presence in the Force. She could feel her levitating, could sense actually as she was.

Now to the hard part.

She chose the Master she knew best first, letting the Force out to sense for Rasu. It took a moment or two, a few false starts, but eventually she found her Master in her rooms. She answered Aika slowly, worried that using some of her concentration to speak would break her connection with what she was seeing. “Rasu is in her rooms, studying something,” she said, a smile coming to her lips. That one was almost too easy – her Master was always figuring something out one way or another. Finding her studying was almost too easy.

Her awareness extended outwards, imagining the Force once more as a wave slowly flooding every inch of the Temple, searching every nook and cranny as water would. When she found Sochi she sensed another presence, one she hadn’t been anticipating. At first she couldn’t get a clear picture, so focused on finding Sochi. She could feel fatigue nagging at her but she was determined. You have to tear muscle to build muscle after all, and she believed in the same practice with her mind. “Sochi is…with Hasjo,” she answered, finally registering her friend’s signature in the Force as well.

She then spread her awareness to the final target. It took her a good minute but she finally located the Master walking down a hallway in the Temple’s proper. “Iella’s on her way somewhere, walking through the Temple,” she answered finally, trying to allow herself to melt in to the Force and stay there, the feel of so many familiar Jedi around her in the Force making her calm and whole.

((Sorry! This one got lost!))

Her lips curved into a large grin, happily listening as the apprentice reported on the others. She was a natural. Well, for the most part. After pushing out with an initial burst, it was obvious that she knew that wouldn't work. With the adjustment made, she was able to stretched out across the Temple. Eventually, with practice, it would become more natural. For now, she had gained a better understanding of what it meant to feel something through the Force.

Releasing her levitation, Aika dropped towards the ground, uncrossing her legs as she plummeted, landing sparely. Her head nodded several times, resisting the urge to applaud the focus being shown. "Impressive. Very impressive. Truly, you and I walk a path far different from the others. But that is what makes us special. What you've just done, used true Force Sense. Over time, your connection will grow stronger. And having to focus to intently, like just now, will be a thing of the past. You have great potential, and I would be more than happy to lend a hand in assisting you to reach it. That said..." Her hands moved behind her back, clasping together as her grin grew even larger. "Rise. You've done as I have asked, so I will teach you, as I have promised."

Behind her smile, there was a bit more thought than what others would be able to find. Aika couldn't help but wonder if her friend's apprentice had the same thirst for knowledge as she did. If she ever wondered what all the Force truly encompassed...

[member="Asaak Tey"]

(OOC: It’s totally fine because I just realized that I am a total herp-derp and tagged you nowhere in my last post so it’s 100% my bad!)

The Togruta went to her feet when [member="Aika Kawakami"] told her to rise, tilting her head and studying the woman’s expressions. Humans were often a funny thing to her but she had a lot of experience reading them from time spent around her friend Moroi and she also had a tendency to pick up on subtle hints from others in general. It was a product both of her easy, social nature and her constant slow-flow connection to the Force. She trusted those instincts now.

“Thank you Aika,” she said, hoping she wasn’t being too presumptuous. “As you know, I have interest in anything under the blanket of Tutaminis or defense, but…I sense you have might have something else in mind,” she said.

Asaak ate the mystical aspects of the Force, of its possibilities and just how far it could be pushed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Hell – she’d been known to forget about food in favor of her nose in a datapad, curled up in the Archives during her free time reading of the force-users of old who had discovered new and fantastical techniques.

As a Padawan, there were limits to the feats that Asaak could perform. But she knew that extending her abilities was only a matter of practice and belief. The Force to her was truly one of those hokey things – ‘it can happen if you just believe’! Rasu had told her once that a being was only limited by their imagination, that the Force was capable of all things if a user could only dream of it.

And she was a dreamer.

Aika Kawakami

Her head nodded, chuckling slightly at the response she gained. "Indeed. Like I said before, Tutaminis is not a sill that I currently posses. However, there are other ways of doing something much similar. That is the beauty of being a consular. We find ways to use the force that others can only dream of." True to her word, Aika had always found ways of using her powers in different ways. This was no different. Except for the fact that the one before her actually chose to stand there.

"Absorb thee energy being directed at you is one thing, but that takes special training. One must find someone to teach such a skill. But to redirect the same energy, is an innate ability that could be done by any who wield the force, though it takes much more practice than what you or I would need. Explosives, projectiles, even blaster bolt. If can be redirected away. If you have know how." Aika's arm rose, her palm pointed towards the apprentice, her lips still curved in a grin. "If one extends the Force through their hand, and it connects with the oncoming..whatever, you can actually move it out of your way. Now, unlike other abilities, this one takes precision and concentration. Being off, even slightly, can mean finding yourself with a new hole or being blown away. And we wouldn't want that, now would we?"

[member="Asaak Tey"]

She nodded, a smile matching [member="Aika Kawakami"]’s on her face though hers was slightly skewed by attention. She had often garnered small giggles or good-natured chuckles at the level of seriousness she applied to the Force, if only because it was so at odds with her naturally bubbly behavior. But it mattered to her. Understanding even a small fraction of the Force was her entire goal.

Absorbing the Knight’s words, she let the Force replenish in her after her concentration to work with sensing other Silver Jedi. It came quickly, like a breath of life, and as Aika raised her hand towards Asaak, the Togruta raised her palm in return as if to catch a thread of Force that the human hadn’t sent out yet. She liked the visual of “extending the Force” from her hand. She was highly visual, and she imagined the Force as a hand from her hand, grasping fingers trying to catch someone’s force power and redirect it.

She laughed, loosening up completely around the Knight. She had shown she was worthy, and now she could show Aika that she was serious about this path, appreciative of her time – IF she didn’t get blown away during the lesson! “No, we certainly don’t want that,” she said, flexing the fingers of her raised hand.

"I'm glad we agree." A small chuckle escaped her lips, beginning a slow pace backwards. After creating a bit more distance from the girl, her eyes began to pan about. The problem was what she needed didn't seem to be in sight. The best way for someone to learn was to see it with their own eyes, and this was something Aika strongly believed in. Her eyes finally landed at the feet of the apprentice. The look across her face lit up once more, gaze returning to her figure.

"The pebbles at your feet. We'll use those, just as an example. I want you to throw a few of them at me. I'll show you how to redirect something. Just know, it won't be fancy, but it will be effective."

[member="Asaak Tey"]

The Togruta had always been a firm believer in that notion that practice made perfect, and coming to be a member of the Jedi had only confirmed that there was nothing better than practice. Each time she used her abilities it became easier. Telekinesis, pulling, and pushing were all her strongest suits already and as Aika directed her to throw some pebbles she contemplated just picking them up manually but…she was in a lesson right? Might as well practice!

She nodded, reaching her hand out to lift a few of the larger pebbles from the ground before throwing her hand forward, launching the rocks towards [member="Aika Kawakami"]. Her amber eyes were intent on the Knight, watching for technique. While able to lift things, she hadn’t quite molded her abilities to counter someone else’s use of the Force against her – this was exactly what she had been looking for!

Aika Kawakami

Can one find true light when shadowed in darkness?
An eager one, wasn't she?

Watching the pebbles rise from the floor, her smile only widened. Seeing the girl so enthusiastic to see with her own eyes was amusing. Her arms rose an extended, palms facing toward the apprentice just as the pebbles began moving towards her. Willing the Force through her hands, and at the coming rocks, arms then moving downward at an angle, ending with her palms facing the ground. As if a sea splitting around her, the little pebbles split as they neared her, a few to each side of her as they seemingly dive bombed toward the ground. A few bounces and they rolled, stopping about two feet behind her.

Aika shrugged her shoulders slightly, chuckling as she glanced at the ground behind her. "Well, it isn't fancy, but you get the point. It's effective, with proper precision."
